Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's high-profile campaign to improve the quality of school dinners has been rewarded with a Scout badge for healthy eating, the Scouts Association said on Friday.
Oliver was one of 10 celebrities in the Scouts' birthday honours, which reward individuals who have proved an inspiration to young people.
"I'm honoured to get this from the Scouts but I'm also really pleased that thousands of young people are being encouraged to learn about food and cooking through the Scouting movement," said Oliver.
"I hope they will develop their passion for food into adulthood so that they can look after themselves and their families with some decent cooking."
Actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman were given navigator badges for their motorbike journeys shown on two television series "Long Way Down" and "Long Way Round" while Olympic teenage diver Tom Daley picked up an athlete badge.
