Miss Washington 2007 might wanna take the crown off before flipping off the camera, getting her Beer Pong on and making suggestive oral sex gang signs.
Elyse Umemoto, who was the second runner-up in this year's Miss America pageant, ran on a platform promoting diversity and women's empowerment. The Evergreen State must be so proud.
Miss Washington Executive Field Director Mike Miller tells TMZ the organization is "embarrassed," and issued this lengthy statement.
In a press conference today in Tacoma, Wash., Elyse Umemoto said the photos posted earlier today on TMZ were "stolen electronically" by someone she trusted.
"Most of these pictures were taken with my own camera in settings I considered to be private and when I was among friends I could trust," she said. "Clearly someone has violated that trust and I am deeply hurt by such an act of betrayal."
Apologizing for the embarrassment she caused, Miss Bad Apple claims the photos were shot over two years ago, when she was Miss Seattle. "I am not proud of the way I am depicted in these photographs and, in my defense, I can only say that being a role model and a public figure is truly a full-time job," she said. "The photographs do not represent my true essence in any way and they depict me clowning around."
As for the pics, the Executive Director of the pageant tells us the matter has been referred to the Pierce County, Wash. Sheriffs Department. A spokesperson for the Department was not aware of any such referral.
Umemoto -- who gets to keep her crown -- will be on hand this Saturday night to crown her successor.
Wow the pictures aren't even bad at all. Talk about an overreaction. At least she gets to keep her crown.
P.S. I'm really excited for the CD contest, bbs. I've been working on a couple =)
