THE Cleo Bachelor of the Year awards are traditionally about the blokes, but The Veronicas' Jess Origliasso and MTV VJ Ruby Rose proved that theory wrong with a very public display of affection at the event's after party.
Revellers were left open-mouthed when the two rock chicks openly began kissing up against the wall at city hotspot The Ivy during the early hours of Thursday.
It is not known if the ladies' lip-lock was caught on camera, but news of the party pash overshadowed any of Cleo's 50 bachelors at ACP magazine's headquarters yesterday.
Rose - who happened to be celebrating her 22nd birthday after midnight struck - admitted to the steamy dance with Origliasso when contacted by Confidential yesterday, but would not be drawn on details.
"She's a top chick and that's really all there is to it," Rose said.
A former Melbourne "door bitch", Rose has openly discussed her bisexual status since being appointed MTV's star recruit in December, telling Confidential last month she preferred to play both sides of the record.
While the edgier of the Origliasso twins, Jess does not openly sing the same sex tune and is in a heterosexual relationship with Azaria, frontman of Sydney band The Follow.
But when asked recently about the bisexual undertones in the Veronica's song Take Me On The Floor, featuring the lyric "I want to kiss a girl, I want to kiss a boy", Jess was vague.
"The song is open for interpretation,"she said.
Veronicas management did not return calls at the time of publication.
