Jane Lynch, Ramin Karimloo, and Jared Grimes join Beanie Feldstein in Funny Girl Broadway revival

Jane Lynch is the only Glee alumna who has been cast in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl. She will play Mrs. Rosie Brice, the mother of Fanny Brice (Beanie Feldstein).

Jane Lynch released this statement: “I grew up to the Broadway cast album of ‘Funny Girl.' My mother and I knew every breath of that record and would sing it together at the top of our lungs. I am thrilled beyond words to be playing Fanny’s mother on Broadway. And somewhere in Heaven my Mom is asking, ‘Who taught her everything she knows?’”

Tony-nominated Ramin Karimloo (Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Anastasia, The Secret Garden) plays Fanny's love interest, Nick Arnstein. Jared Grimes (A Soldier's Play, After Midnight) plays Eddie Ryan, a dancer who Fanny meets and befriends on the vaudeville circuit.

Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Spring Awakening, American Idiot, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) is directing the revival. The show features a revised book by Harvey Fierstein, choreography by So You Think You Can Dance finalist Ellenore Scott, and tap choreography by Ayodele Casel. Previews begin on March 26, 2022, and the show is scheduled to open on April 24.

Olympic gold medalist Jordyn Wieber is engaged to fellow gymnast Chris Brooks

Over the weekend Jordyn Wieber (26) was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. While at a family gathering, Chris Brooks (34), her boyfriend of four years, proposed.

Jordyn was the 2011 all around world champion, the 2012 all around national champion, and a member of the 2012 Olympic gold medal team (the Fierce Five). In 2018, she testified that she had been abused by Larry Nassar.

Chris Brooks was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners gymnastics team from 2005–2009. He returned to elite gymnastics after college and won gold on the high bar at the 2010 national championships. In 2016, he finished second at Olympic trials and was named the captain of the men's Olympic team in Rio.

Jordyn and Chris met at the World Championships in 2011 and began dating long distance in 2016. After three years, they both moved to Arkansas to coach at the University of Arkansas.

The Kardashian / Jenner Family Get Exposed for Working with Lou Taylor

Lou Taylor aka woman who was exposed for her shady business practices as Britney Spears’ ex-business manager also works with America’s favorite family.

Taylor has at various points served as an “agent for service of process” for Kim Kardashian’s KKW Fragrance LLC and KimsAPrincess Inc., Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics giant King Kylie LLC, Kendall Jenner’s eponymous corporation, Kris Jenner’s nonprofit Kardashian Jenner Family Foundation Inc. and even Kylie’s boyfriend Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Enterprises LLC.

An “agent for service of process” is a person designated to receive legal correspondence on behalf of a business.

However, Taylor’s name was nowhere to be found in more recent filings, including KKW Fragrance LLC on July 7, 2021, and Kendall Jenner Inc. on July 8, 2021. The business entity eResidentAgent Inc. was listed instead, though Tri Star’s address was still used for mailing purposes.

The extent of Taylor’s current involvement in the brands is not known. It is also unclear why she was no longer named personally in this summer’s statements of information.

It could be possible that after Lou received media attention thanks to the #FreeBritney movement that the famous family could have cut ties to protect themselves and their public likeliness.

Ryan Gosling is Alive; Signs His First Endorsement Deal...for Luxury Watches

Ryan Gosling has emerged from hibernation to mark his very first global brand partnership with Tag Heuer. The new Carrera Three Hands timepiece collection will be worn by Gosling on the red carpet and in his upcoming films, such as Netflix's The Gray Man.

“I appreciate its timeless design,” Gosling said in a statement. “I like clean and simple design generally. Growing up, we lived on a pretty tight budget. I gravitated towards things that were simple and timeless so I didn’t have to think about keeping up with trends.”

Tag Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault said, “A star since his early days, he has grown to become an icon — one both enigmatic and inscrutable. He is a true artist who chooses his projects with utmost care and dedicates himself to them like no other, not only shaping his character but the entire creative direction. The movie Drive [which, along with Gosling's fondness for cars and motorcycles was the inspiration for the photoshoot] represents the strongest link with who we are today, and we are excited about the creative projects we have together.”

Arnault also said Gosling chose the endorsement because of his love of watches, not money because other fashion and perfume brands offered him much more. "He said, ‘If I work with you, I want to do a watch for design and artistic reasons.’"

Andrew Lloyd Webber: Cats movie was so bad I got a dog

In a long interview with Variety, Andrew Lloyd Webber discussed the emotional damage inflicted upon him by the movie version of Cats:

Cats’ was off-the-scale all wrong. There wasn’t really any understanding of why the music ticked at all. I saw it and I just thought, ‘Oh, God, no.’ It was the first time in my 70-odd years on this planet that I went out and bought a dog. So the one good thing to come out of it is my little Havanese puppy.

Andrew has grown so attached to the dog that he told an airline he needed him on flights for emotional support. When the airline asked if it was really necessary, Andrew responded by telling them to "see what Hollywood did to my musical Cats." The request was approved.

Other bits from the interview:
-- Thinks Evita is the best film adaptation of his musicals.
-- Says Gerald Bulter for Phantom was a miscast.
-- He and Glenn Close are still trying to get the Sunset Boulevard movie made, but Paramount keeps showing little interest.

Blind item time! Which "high-profile actor" is possibly unvaxxed and got crew members sick?

Yesterday's post about Letitia Wright, the anti-vaxxer religious nutjob who somehow plays a genius in Marvel movies, was based on this Hollywood Reporter article, which featured a blind item about a "high-profile actor":

In August, a high-profile actor was on the set of a film when he came down with COVID-19 and was hospitalized. The star, known to the cast and crew as being dismissive of vaccines and masks, was said to be unvaccinated. The film shut down for three weeks, but not before more than a dozen crewmembers got sick, sources say. Ultimately, the stoppage resulted in a seven-figure hit for the production company. The Hollywood Reporter is withholding the actor’s name because he didn’t flout any specific protocol on the project. The actor’s rep declined to comment.

So who is the unnamed anti-vaxxer who allegedly hospitalized and got several crew members sick on his movie set, which had to shut down production? The current most popular guess is Fresh Prince Will Smith.

What's the evidence?

  • Production on the set of Emancipation, the "runaway-slave thriller" (?????) directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Smith, was shut down in August after "a small number of positive Covid tests"

  • Additionally, a COVID outbreak was reported at Smith's production company Westbrook Inc., after 10 staffers tested positive, also in August (someone pointed out this is from 2020, my case is collapsing!)

  • Will's new movie King Richard, for which he's predicted to get an Oscar nomination, premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in September. Will did not show up to support the movie, and the festival required proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to attend

HOWEVER, One piece of evidence against it being Will is that in March of 2020, he visited the CDC to learn about infectious diseases and then talked about it on an episode of Red Table Talk.

Jesy 'Balegdah' Nelson Teases 'Boyz' Video; No Longer Speaks to Little Mix Bandmates

Jesy Nelson, former Little Mix member, spoke to Glamour for their self care issue and disclosed she no longer speaks to the current Little Mix members and has not seen their newborns. Some excerpts;

“I haven’t spoken to the girls. It is weird because for so many years we were as close as sisters, together every hour of the day for weeks, sharing beds, laughing, crying just 24/7 the four of us together and then…nothing.”

On Perrie and Leigh-Anne's babies:

"I’ve sent a few texts, but that’s it. It’s like there has to be this distance. Hopefully, at some point in the future, we can all come back together. I love them. They are my sisters in so many ways.”

Details on her debut solo track 'Boyz', set for release on Friday 8th October:

Two months ago at a studio in Los Angeles, she made her solo video for her remarkable debut single Boyz  – out 8 October – featuring Nicki Minaj, a glorious homage to her hip-hop hero P Diddy, skewed from a female perspective of a woman who can’t help loving bad boys. “That’s me!” she laughs, then grins and adds: “But this single is amazing, I’m so excited for everyone to hear it. It’s ballsy, it’s honest and it’s me all over.”

Highlights from the Adele Vogue story

I read this entire thing. Some highlights:

  • New boyfriend is Rich Paul - confirmed.

  • First time speaking with a journalist since 2016 and has been married and divorced in that time.

  • Has been quarantining in California with her son Angelo in her home next to Jennifer Lawrence.

  • Greg Kurstin, Ludwig Göransson and Max Martin worked on new album.

  • Much of the new album is not about the divorce except the lead single: “I feel like this album is self-destruction,” and adds “then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption. But I feel ready. I really want people to hear my side of the story this time.” And much of the album is for her son. “I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness. It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.” For this and other reasons, the new album is different from her previous albums. “I realized that I was the problem,” Adele says. “Cause all the other albums are like, You did this! You did that! Fuck you! Why can’t you arrive for me? Then I was like: Oh, shit, I’m the running theme, actually. Maybe it’s me!

  • The new single: The interviewer listened and remarked "A slow, meditative arrangement, then – pow! – that voice. “Go easy on me…” entreats the chorus, which sits between verses that recall her fraught childhood, her lost marriage and the lessons learnt and unlearnt about family, love and abandonment along the way.

  • Her weight lost journey: “It was because of my anxiety. Working out, I would just feel better. It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day.” Three times a day, I marvel? “Yeah,” she replies, matter-of-factly. “So I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night. I was basically unemployed when I was doing it. And I do it with trainers.” She very much gets that it’s a rich person’s game. “It’s not doable for a lot of people,” she says, a bit embarrassed.

  • Searching for Happiness: “Well, my therapist told me that I had to sit with my little seven-year-old self. Because she was left on her own. And I needed to go sit with her and really address how I felt when I was growing up. And issues with my dad. Which I’d been avoiding.” And what were those issues? “Not being sure if someone who is supposed to love you loves you, and doesn’t prioritize you in any capacity when you’re little. You assume it and get used to it. So my relationship with men in general, my entire life, has always been: You’re going to hurt me, so I’ll hurt you first. It’s just toxic and prevents me from actually finding any happiness.

Whoopi Goldberg on why she no longer dates younger

While discussing age gaps on The View, Whoopi revealed the difficulties in dating younger, recalling an experience, "I went out with a younger dude, and he said, 'I can't believe this.' I said, 'What are you talking about?' He said, 'I did not know that Paul McCartney had another band.' “And you kind of go, 'The Beatles? You've never heard of the Beatles?' 'No!'" she laughed.

Adding that when dating younger, you have to impart information to the younger counterpart, that you take for granted, and it can become tiring, but the upside is that they look good.

The Most Popular Halloween Candy In Each State: 2021 Edition

Another year, another infographic that's probably not very accurate.
But let's discuss anyways. It's spooky szn. 👻 🎃

We're 24 days away from Halloween, so which Halloween candies reigned supreme in each state in the US for 2021? Well, it was a 3 way tie between: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Sour Patch Kids, and Starburst with 6 states each. In 2019, Skittles took the top spot but this year only 3 states claimed it as their favorite. It doesn't end there, CandyStore.Com shared with us 2021's worst Halloween candy with candy corn taking that honor. Elsewhere, Ferrara shared their own sales data to show us which states yearned for the controversial candy corn.

[Trick Er Treating Data]Over the Summer, National Confectioners Association (NCA) conducted a national online survey and found that 82% of Americans are confident they will find safe and creative ways to celebrate the Halloween season; 80% are planning to trick-or-treat this fall; and 79% of Americans say they plan to fill their Halloween candy bowls this season. Will you be giving out candy this year and / or trick-or-treating?

Erika Jayne Slammed For Comparing Herself To Jesus Christ Amid Legal Woes

Disgraced reality housewives star, Erika Jayne, 50, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to repost a fan's post about Ronald Richards, the attorney overseeing the liquidation of her estranged husband’s law firm. The fan's post claimed that Richards "should be disbarred for ‘unethical practice’" by allegedly "slandering" Jayne for "misconduct the courts never charged her for!"

The user further claimed Richards "undermined the judicial system by making accusations & insinuations in hopes it will inspire public opinion to override the courts," before adding, "this behavior is dangerous & reckless for our society! Everyone should take notice."

"This is exactly how CHRIST died," the post concluded.

While these weren't exactly Jayne's own words, she did repost it on her Instagram stories, causing swift backlash for implying that being slammed in the court of public opinion is the same as Jesus being crucified on the cross.

Jayne backtracked on her Instagram Stories, writing: "This is not a post comparing @theprettymess to Christ. It’s comparing an unethical lawyer who is trying to undermine this judicial system by persuading the courts to ACT based on public opinion and not by the law. Just like the pharisees did to Christ."

He took the time to address some of them, including one where he revealed his vaccination status along with his motivation behind his post.

“I know and i want to provide some balance on this issue because i think that ppl are sometimes being violent to ppl on the other side and I’m vaccinated. I’m not telling ppl what to do but respect people and do your part respectfully.”
