In a candid and heartfelt op-ed published in the Washington Post, Uma Thurman reveals she had to get an abortion done in her late-teens when she "was accidentally impregnated by a much older man". Uma was motivated to share her story in light of the draconian and extremely restrictive (OP note: yes, I am editorializing because this law is vile) Texas anti-abortion law, which bans all abortions after 6 weeks, and the Supreme Court's subsequent lack of action against it.
On the Texas law, Uma writes: "This law is yet another discriminatory tool against those who are economically disadvantaged, and often, indeed, against their partners. Women and children of wealthy families retain all the choices in the world, and face little risk." She rightfully laments that this law is "creating new vigilantes who will prey on these disadvantaged women, denying them the choice not to have children they are not equipped to care for, or extinguishing their hopes for the future family they might choose."
Johnny Depp Addresses ‘Cancel Culture’: ‘No One Is Safe. Not One of You.’ https://t.co/IxeG0kPZ9H— Variety (@Variety) September 22, 2021
Abuser Johnny Depp addressed cancel culture during a press conference preceding his Donostia Awards reception at the San Sebastian Film Festival. When asked how social media and cancel culture can affect public figures, Depp whined that it was a "complex situation [that] can be seen as an event in history that lasted for however long it lasted, this cancel culture or this instant rush to judgement based on essentially what amounts to polluted air that is exhaled."
On whether or not he feels safe in such an interconnected world, Depp replied, "Yeah, I do," followed by several false starts before contradicting himself. "The various movements that came out with, I’m sure the best of intentions...It’s so far out of hand now that I can promise you that no one is safe. Not one of you. Not one of you as long as someone is willing to say one sentence. It takes just one sentence and there is no more ground. The carpet has been pulled.”
"It’s not just me this has happened to. It’s happened to a lot of people. This type of thing has happened to women, men and children who have suffered from various types of unpleasantries and they sadly, at a certain point, begin to think that it’s normal. I believe that if you are armed with the truth, then that’s all you need. It doesn’t matter if a judgement has taken some artistic license,” he chuckled [Variety notes 'perhaps referencing his unsuccessful bid to overturn a judge’s ruling in his U.K. libel case'].
Depp finished by pleading with the assembled press and those watching online, "When there is an injustice, whether it’s against you or someone you love, or someone you believe in, stand up, don’t sit down. Don’t sit down on ’em, they need you."
One more question about Depp’s off-screen issues was immediately shut down. The question referenced an ongoing protest by a group of Spanish women filmmakers that was launched the day Depp’s festival honor was announced.
OP wants Depp to shut the fuck up and reminds everyone that Depp lost a U.K. libel case against the publisher of The Sun, who alleged he was a “wife beater” in a 2018 article. The judge ruled that the words were “substantially true.”
Lil Peep and XXXTentacion sued over 'Falling Down.' https://t.co/kSrNIlIUZV— TMZ (@TMZ) September 21, 2021
Richard Jaden Hoff claims his guitar riff from his Soundcloud song, "Under My Breath" was used as an uncleared sample in Lil Peep and XXXTentacion's song "Falling Down", specifically that the riff was looped, sped up, filtered and equalized but still remained similar enough to his song.
Hoff posted his song on Soundcloud in June 2018, "Falling Down" was released in September 2018, with a Travis Barker remix released in July 2019. The song has over 20m plays on Spotify and over 21m views on YouTube. The single also hit No. 13 on Billboard's Hot 100.
Lil Peep died in November 2017, and XXXTentacion died in June 2018, 5 days after Hoff released his Soundcloud song. Among the record labels being sued, Hoff is also specifically suing the rappers and NOT their estates, even referring to them as residents of California.

Britney Spears is going to have a prenuptial agreement with new fiancé Sam Asghari and that’s now part of the reason she wants her purse strings holding father to exit her repressive conservatorship ASAP https://t.co/LnA5IAhyeV— Deadline Hollywood (@DEADLINE) September 22, 2021
Britney Spears is going to have a prenuptial agreement with fiancé Sam Asghari and that’s now part of the reason she wants her father to exit her conservatorship ASAP.
Her lawyers filed paperwork today stating Britney wants control of her money, control over how she spends it and how she protects it, and thus Jamie Spears needs to go. Spears also had a prenup with ex-husband Kevin Federline, which saw her paying out around $500,000 a year for the three years they were together.
Brit's lawyer Matthew Rosengart said in a statement: "We have exposed Mr. Spears’s efforts to obtain a quid pro quo payout, while also making clear that Britney Spears will no longer be bullied. In the interim, we are moving forward with our July 26, 2021 Petition for the Suspension of James P. Spears, which is a prerequisite to the immediate restoration of my client’s dignity and fundamental rights. Our investigation into the financial and other abusive conduct at issue is ongoing."
Maybe people can stop thinking Britney doesn't know better about prenups?

If an employer, this is beyond politics. I’m turning in scripts next month on an HBO non-fiction miniseries based on events in Texas, but I can’t and won’t ask female cast/crew to forgo civil liberties to film there. -People tweeted Simon in response in an effort to argue with him, defend Texas, or try to #NotAllTexans his response (and also anti-vaxxers somehow got involved) and he was not having any of it:

It was revealed that Messing contracted COVID-19 earlier this year and spent over a month in the hospital, being placed on a ventilator in the ICU in August. He is now dealing with partial paralysis of his arms and legs as a result of the virus. He is doing physical therapy and is at a rehab centre in Florida recovering.
Prior to contracting COVID-19, Messing had received only one shot of the vaccine, but has been advised to wait until he's stronger before he completes the vaccination regimen with a second dose.

The official Twitter account for The Late Late Show with James Corden has deleted video of the host commenting on BTS' appearance at the 76th United Nations General Assembly in New York City on Monday, following backlash from the K-Pop superstars' fanbase.
ARMY took umbrage at Corden referring to the group as "unusual visitors" to the event, before proceeding to quip that the appearance "marked the first time that 15 year old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary General António Guterres."
Members of the notoriously devoted fanbase expressed disappointment with the one-time "Papa Mochi," who previously appeared to express genuine affection for BTS. After getting wind of the comments, ARMY lowered The Late Late Show's audience rating on Google from 4.2 to 2.5 and called for Corden to apologize.

How Lucasfilm Made ‘Star Wars: Visions’ the Most Ambitious ‘Star Wars’ Project Since ‘A New Hope’ https://t.co/M6lfkyeJL3— Variety (@Variety) September 23, 2021
Masi Oka was game from the beginning, being a huge Star Wars fan; “I was told it was ‘Star Wars’ and they were trying to do something with anime,” he says with a huge smile. “I didn’t need to know about anything else. Count me in.”
At first they were going "Where the hell are we going to air this where it still can be canon?" until Disney+ was created. Though, Lucasfilm wasn't a stickler for canon (See 'The Twins').
Most are animated by different studios with different tones and styles.
Star Wars Visions is on Disney+ In full.
I only saw The Twins but YEAH that is the energy I need from a Star Wars production! Considering how much George Lucas took from Japanese storytelling, it's about time.
The two look ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS while wearing KK(W?)'s overpriced (cheap looking) undies. The two became inseparable (at least on sm) because of their "future baby daddies"

1. Mikasa Ackerman "Attack on Titan"
"A one-woman army and protective adopted sister to protagonist Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman of Attack on Titan is a powerful woman, plain and simple. Described as having prowess equal to a hundred ordinary soldiers and brilliant at her job, Mikasa, who ranked first out of all the cadets in the 104th Training Corps, is skilled and more than slightly terrifying."
4. Ochako Uraraka "My Hero Academia"
"My Hero Academia’s Ochako Uraraka's Zero Gravity quirk is a deceptively strong quirk that allows her to nullify the effects of gravity on a person or object, thus rendering them helpless. 7. Usagi Tsukino "Sailor Moon"
"Another average high school student with a powerful alter ego, Usagi Tsukino as Sailor Moon is the leader of the Sailor Senshi, a group of cosmic superheroes who guard the Earth from evil. With immeasurable, destructive power based on sound, healing, and love, Sailor Moon also happens to be the only Solar System Senshi immune to turning evil."

"The lead protagonist of the Ghost in the Shell franchise, Major Motoko Kusanagi is technologically and physically one of the most advanced cyborgs in pop culture history.
