The fact that this song continues to gain momentum and rise on the charts now, nearly 10 months after its release, and that apparently some of this popularity is due to Minecraft fanfiction (???) is 1) wild, and 2) a sentence I would have never predicted to write, yet here we are.

Charlyne Yi Calls Out Seth Rogen for Enabling James Franco's Predatory Behavior

Comedian Charlyne Yi calls out former costar Seth Rogen's alleged performative activism of supporting women yet staying complicit in enabling long time friend James Franco's behavior towards young women.

In 2014, a 17-year-old girl posted screenshots of alleged messages between her and Franco on Instagram. The messages showed that Franco, who was 35 at the time, tried to meet her in a hotel room after she told him she was 17. A former girlfriend, Violet Paley, alleged that Franco coerced her into sex while they were dating. On January 11, 2018, the Los Angeles Times reported that five women were accusing Franco of inappropriate or sexually exploitative behavior while serving as their acting teacher or mentor. And finally, on October 3, 2019, two female former students of Franco's now-closed film and acting school, Studio 4, filed a lawsuit against him and his partners alleging sexual exploitation.

Kehlani Says She's Now A Lesbian During An Instagram Live

After previously identifying as pansexual, singer Kehlani now says she is a lesbian. The 25-year old (who goes by she/they pronouns) revealed it during an Instagram live stream on April 7, saying “You wanna know what’s new about me? I finally know I’m a lesbian."

She also recently spoke about her privilege as straight passing in an interview with The Advocate:

“I didn’t even really have to come out in my private life. I don’t walk down the street and people look at me and go, ‘Oh, I bet she’s queer’ or ‘I bet that she’s into women’ or anything like that because of the way I present.”

“That’s all privilege and I think that there are quite a few artists who were truly at the forefront but weren’t able to make the strides that I was able to make being 100 percent myself because of the way they present and the biases and the phobias of the American public and the world.”

“I’ve been lucky, super lucky.”

ONTD Original - 12 LGBT Romani You Should Know

Today is International Romani Day! Founded in 1990 to celebrate Romani culture, and to spread awareness of the racism we experience, International Romani Day is recognized and celebrated throughout most of the world. As a follow up to my original post on Romani women, I've decided to focus on LGBT Roma who are artists, actors, musicians and designers. LGBT Roma experience extreme levels of homophobia, both outside of and within our communities, and in recent years, more have begun to come out and celebrate both their ethnicity and sexuality, defying the hate the experience from both sides. So here are 12 LGBT Roma you should know! as always, apologize if anything sounds off, english is not my native language.

Japanese Breakfast "Posing in Bondage" MV + Tour Announcement

Warner Bros is a mess. Sky is blue. Writer Chris Terrio details messy DC Universe

-Chris Terrio is the writer behind such films as Batman Vs Superman, Justice League (Snyders Cut), Argo, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

-Ben Affleck brought him onto BvS to rework the script that WB already had in motion. Ben wanted Chris to add more character to the script and flesh out Bruce.

-Terrio alleges that the original script for BvS was already dark before he rewrote it. The OG script had Batman brand Luthor at the end of the film, something Terrio wanted to change as he wanted Bruce to see the error of his ways by the end of the movie.

-The script also had "Superman raining hell upon Black African Muslim characters" who had taken Lois hostage.

-Was pissed when WB cut 30mins off of BvS runtime since it ruined the flow of the movie and took away the characters motivations.

-After BvS flopped, WB wanted a lighter JL so Terrio lightened the script which is what is seen in the Snyder cut.

-The studio didn't care about building any semblance of a coherent universe, they just wanted to get the films released. Wonder Woman and Aquaman were still being written while he was working on Justice League so he couldn't pair with those teams about how they would handle the characters. The Amazons were not even cast yet for WW.

-Once he saw Whedons two hour version of JL, he attempted to get his named removed from the film but it was to late so he didn't push the matter to avoid drama.

-He was never invited to set or given proper time to work with the actors and once they brought in Whedon they didn't even bother to consult him on the film.

The NeverEnding Story Star Who Played Childlike Empress Is Returning to the Screen at 48

Tami Stronach who played The Childlike Empress in The NeverEnding Story is returning to screen acting more than 30 years later. Inspired by the third season of Stranger Things' tribute to the 1984 film, Stronach and her husband Greg Steinbruner are currently shooting an '80-based movie called Man & Witch. It will star themselves as well as several 80s stars such as Christopher Lloyd, Sean Astin and Rhea Perlman.

"It's a modern film in the sense that we're not trying to make it look like an '80s film," Stronach said. "It's not going to be grainy and on VHS. It's really more about storytelling devices. It's not cynical. It's a heartwarming story."

Stronach also revealed the reason she didn't pursue a career as a child actor. Her new-found fame resulted in adult men camping outside her family's home in hopes of seeing the then 12-year old. She also says producers pitched her a nude film during that time. Her parents made the joint decision for her to withdraw from an acting career, as they "just weren't equipped to be managers". Stronach didn't quit acting completely though, but moved on to theatre and also pursued dancing. She went on to become a director of her own company, a dance professor at Marymount Manhattan College, as well as a yoga teacher.

I absolute loved The NeverEnding Story as a kid, even though it scared the crap out of me. Learning Tami basically had to quit because she was being tracked down by pedophiles is infuriating. Thank god she didn't have stage parents.

ONTD Original: The original or the remix?

For all my oldies ONTDers (and lurkers 👀), don't remember back in the day where we would watch BET (or sometimes it was MTV) where we would stay tune to see the remix of our favorite artist songs or just watch because we knew we'll actually hear some good music. I have had the list made for quite some time (like over a year but too lazy to actual finish) of those songs where there are 2 versions (or an original and remix). I let you decide on which version of each song you prefer.
(Polls are included)

Let's start with....

South Korea's music industry denounces 'unfair' BTS military service deferment law

-- On April 1 the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) filed an official complaint to the Ministry of National Defense on the amendment to the Military Service Act  passed in February that allows pop musicians who have received the Order of Cultural Merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to postpone their military services until the age of 30.

-- BTS was awarded the distinction in 2018 as an exception for its record-breaking footsteps despite having only debuted in 2013. Only musicians with over 15 years in the industry can be awarded cultural merit and the average age of musicians who have been awarded is over 60 years old.

-- The KMCA added that the law already discriminates against musicians since men who are doing undergraduate or graduate studies abroad or establish start-up companies are eligible for deferral.

inb4 fans dismiss this as other kpop agencies complaining their own lobbying was ignored. This amendment seems like a gift from the president for BTS' global good rep more than anything else *coughSaudiArabiaconcertcough* and the way it was conceived and ushered in is pretty telling.
