Emerald Fennell: "The idea of missing it is so awful, and I can’t bear to think about it. Obviously, it’s whatever is safe and allowed, but I’m not going to break the law by swimming the Atlantic. Though I would if I had the time and the core strength.”

"Wife Beater" Johnny Depp Loses Battle to Challenge "Wife Beater" Libel Ruling

  • Johnny Depp has failed (yet again) in his attempt to challenge the ruling in the U.K High Court, that he was violent to his former wife, actress, Amber Heard.

  • Last year, the unemplyed actor waged a three-week libel case against the publisher of The Sun newspaper over a 2018 article calling him a “wife beater".

  • Depp claimed that Heard’s allegations of domestic violence were “a choreographed hoax.” However, Judge Andrew Nicol found that Depp had been violent toward Heard on at least 12 occasions, and rejected Depp’s case.

Coming to Broadway: Vaccinations for New York’s Theater Workers

Mayor Bill de Blasio said that over the next month, NYC will create two vaccination sites reserved for theater/arts workers: one on Broadway and a mobile unit for those beyond Broadway. The sites will also be staffed by theater workers. Eligibility at these sites is the same as elsewhere in NY, but de Blasio expects everyone will be eligible by the time they are set up.

Also of note:

  • Pop-up testing sites located at or nearby Broadway and Off Broadway theaters to assist with prep (rehearsals, stage maintenance) that requires actors/staff to be in close quarters
  • NYC helping theaters develop crowd management plans
  • de Blasio pushing for guidelines for audience members to prove vaccination or negative COVID tests before performances

Arts & entertainment venues are allowed to open at 33% capacity starting April 2 (with # caps), but Broadway shows would not bring in enough revenue to cover operating costs with those limitations. Right now, the goal is for Broadway shows to reopen in the fall.

“Our community has suffered catastrophic losses,” the Broadway League said in a statement, “and the sooner we can return to share our stories in a safe and secure way, the better our city will be.”

'Femme Fatale,' Britney Spears' seventh album, turns 10

Today marks 10 years since Britney Spears released Femme Fatale, her seventh studio album and her final release under Jive Records (before the label shut down and she moved to RCA).

Expressing a desire to make a "fierce dance album," Spears enlisted such producers as Billboard, Bloodshy & Avant, (unfortunately) Dr. Luke, Stargate and (unfortunately), who helped incorporate elements of dubstep, EDM and techno into its 12 tracks.

The Femme Fatale era became Spears' most successful on the US charts: the album became her sixth to debut atop the Billboard 200, with sales of 276,000 copies, and three of its four singles ("Hold It Against Me," "Till the World Ends," and "I Wanna Go") peaked in the top ten of the Hot 100, at numbers one, three and seven, respectively.

- No further word if the confirmed colonizer will bring out another Emergency Black Friend as a defense.

Justin Long is not the Mac Guy anymore and switches to PC in Intel's petty campaign.

- Actor Justin Long (former Kirsten Dunst stalker and 'I'm a MAC' guy) has switched sides and now stars in a new campaign by Intel, telling people to switch to PCs in a bunch of anti-mac ads.
- To give you some context, Macs used to carry Intel processors, until last year when Apple launched their own increasing speeds and battery by almost 200%. Intel is petty as hell and they released this new campaing.
- Intel's efforts have backfired though, since people are roasting Justin and downvoting the campaign on Youtube (their videos have like a 75% downvotes, yikes!) and the comments include people calling them petty, telling them Macs are better and if they use PC's, they'll go for other processors like AMD or Razor.

Taskmaster S11 is HERE

Guess what my fellow exhausted ONTDers desperately craving new hilarious content?!

Taskmaster Season 11 is upon us!

What's Taskmaster you ask? Are you living under a fcking rock? It's the greatest TV show that's ever existed since 2015. Where else can you watch 5 UK comics/d-list actors battle it out in ridiculous humiliating tasks for random subpar weirdass prizes and the chance to win a handsome golden bust of Greg Davies whilst be a witness to watching his assistant and creator of the show Alex Horne getting berated to embarrassing heights? No where! ...Except Taskmaster.

Who's on the new season of Taskmaster? Some people you may know, but most you probably don't (as per usual with this show):

  • Charlotte Ritchie - from Ghosts (which you should watch and I WILL make a post on because it's the wholesome content everyone needs rn)

  • Jamali Maddix - of Hate Thy Neighbour and Adventures in Futureland which I need to check out

  • Lee Mack - if you haven't watched WILTY yet, do it now!

  • Mike Wozniak - from Greg Davies' loosely semi-autobiographical show Man Down

  • Sarah Kendall - gotta admit I don't really know her, but plan to check out her show Frayed

Why masktaster, where can I watch such joyous content?

Youtube bay-bey!! The first 2 eps are up now! New episodes air every Thursday night.

But if you live in the UK (or have a solid VPN), I guess you can watch it on Channel 4.

‘All Rise’ Creator/EP Fired By Warner Bros. TV Over Misconduct Allegations, Dropped By APA

Greg Spottiswood, creator, executive producer and co-showrunner of All Rise, has been let go from the CBS legal drama by series’ producer Warner Bros. Television. He exited the show following an investigation into allegations of unprofessional conduct in the series’ writers room, including the use of offensive and racially insensitive language.

Spottiswood also has been dropped by his agency APA.

The climate in the writers room did not improve in Season 2, and some writers were reportedly offended by remarks Spottiswood allegedly made that were perceived as insensitive, especially for the writers of color. Complaints about Spottiswood’s behavior led to a new investigation by Warner Bros. TV, which resulted in his dismissal.

Scarlett Johansson Jokes That She Has ‘Made a Career’ Out of ‘Embarrassing’ Controversies

She was cast in 2017’s Ghost in the Shell, which was based on a Japanese manga series.
She was set to play a transgender man in the film 'Rub & Tug' in 2018.
She defended Woody Allen in 2019 amid allegations that he molested his daughter.

Scarlett Johansson has found herself in the midst of controversy more than once during her lengthy career.
Johansson has had time to reflect on her past reactions and feels differently than she did in the moment.

“I’m going to have opinions about things because that’s just who I am. I mean, everyone has a hard time admitting when they’re wrong about stuff, and for all of that to come out publicly, it can be embarrassing. To have the experience of, Wow, I was really off mark there, or I wasn’t looking at the big picture, or I was inconsiderate. I’m also a person.”

She has attempted to learn when she should speak out and when she should not.
“I can be reactive. I can be impatient. That doesn’t mix that great with self-awareness.”

Johansson maintained that actors should not be held to a standard of perfection.
“I don’t think actors have obligations to have a public role in society. Some people want to, but the idea that you’re obligated to because you’re in the public eye is unfair. You didn’t choose to be a politician, you’re an actor. Your job is to reflect our experience to ourselves; your job is to be a mirror for an audience, to be able to have an empathetic experience through art. That is what your job is.”

Britney Spears Files to Remove Her Father as Personal Conservator

  • According to court documents filed on Tuesday and obtained by Variety, Britney Spears' attorney Samuel Ingham has formally requested that Jamie Spears resign as Britney's personal conservator and be replaced by Jodi Montgomery.

  • Montgomery has been acting as Britney's temporary care manager since September 2019, when her father stepped down due to health reasons - he has yet to resume the role but remains co-conservator of her estate along with the Bessemer Trust Company.

  • If the request is granted and Montgomery assumes permanent conservatorship of Britney's person, she will have: control over Britney's medical treatment; the power to "restrict and limit visitors by any means," including prosecuting necessary restraining orders; and the ability to appoint security guards & caretakers.

  • The next court hearing is scheduled for April 27th.

hopefully the judge grants her request!

Casey Aonso - Exploring the World of Toxic Ships.

"If you've been on the internet you've probably witnessed how intense and devoted some fans can become whether it's on tumblr, tik tok, twitter or instagram, and these can be fans of anything or anyone really, but when it comes to toxic fans in today's video we're focusing on "shippers" who ship singers that they believe are in undercover relationships with each other. Today we're looking at a specific type of shipper, the toxic kind lol. The "ships" we'll be focusing on today are Larry Stylinson which is a ship name for Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson previously from One Direction as well as Camren which is the name for Camila Cabello and Lauren Jaregui's ship, previously from Fifth Harmony.

So we'll be doing a bit of an internet deep dive if you will.. looking at the general idea of shipping: what it is, why it's appealing for people etc as well as exploring the internet history behind the Larry Stylinson and Camren ships specifically because I think they're quite unique considering they aren't a ship that involves fictional characters... they're real people and also because they've lasted so long even though both One Direction and Fifth Harmony have been disbanded for years now. I also feel like some areas of their fanbases are good examples of shipping gone too far or turned toxic in the effort of proving their ship is "real"." - Casey Aonso

how do you feel about people shipping real people (instead of fictional)?? // do you/did you ship people??

ONTD Original: Building on Unsolved Mysteries

The Perrineau family criticizes the Lonely Island for producing a show about a black woman

Trigger warning

The Lonely Island, made up of former SNL castmembers Akiva Schafer, Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, has a production company that's behind a new TV project called "Party Over Here."

They're executive producing it, although it will be penned by a Black writer named Meredith Dawson. The synopsis for the project states that in the show, "the power dynamic in a family of overachievers is upended when the runt of the family discovers a new talent. The thing that will challenge them and also bring them together is her Black Girl Magic."

At least one member from the Lonely Island publicly defended Girls writer Murray Miller, who had been accused of rape by actress Aurora Perrineau. During the time the accusations came out, Jorma Taccone wrote in a now deleted tweet that "I've known Murray for nearly 20 years. I don't believe he did this." Lena Dunce-ham and writing partner Jenni Konner had also said that they "stand by Murray."

Aurora Perrineau said the group is not qualified to handle a story like this in a recent tweet of hers. She wrote: "Imagine a group of white men who tried to silence a black survivor of sexual assault making a tv show about a young black woman with magical powers. Somethings makes me think they aren’t qualified."
