Assault victim says she's being harassed by Nicki Minaj and her husband

The assault victim of Kenneth Petty is coming forward about the harassment she's endured by both Petty, who violently assaulted her when she was 16, and associates of his wife, Nicki Minaj.

The woman, choosing to go by the name Jennifer to protect her identity, tells The Daily Beast that "associates of Minaj and Petty’s spent months last year harassing her" to recant her story.

Jennifer says she had to move 3 times in 2020 just to protect her safety. She's been urged by both associates of Minaj and Petty to write a letter recanting her story for a huge payout.

"It’s like, these people were willing to sacrifice me so this guy could remain in the public eye.”

A lot more in horrifying detail here.

Piers Morgan walks off Good Morning Britain set after being called out for Meghan Markle tirades

Piers Morgan, a bloated piece of sentient honey-glazed ham, walked off the set of his show Good Morning Britain today after being very-calmly called out by co-host Alex Beresford for his unhinged infatuation with Meghan Markle, for saying she was lying about suicidal ideation, and overall "diabolical behavior".

Watch as he sits there stewing, his face getting angrier and angrier, unable to handle even 90 seconds of criticism.

Piers Morgan has spent the last four years or so acting like a scorned man on a psychotic revenge campaign about an ex-girlfriend because Meghan went out for drinks with him once and he thought he had a chance.

Morgan later returned to set to interview Meghan's estranged father, who then proceeded to threaten her.

ETA: Piers has quit been fired from Good Morning Britain.

Meghan Markle Shared The Moment She Realized Whiteness Wouldn’t Protect Her

Some excerpts:

"It’s easy to critique Markle as someone who would have ignorantly upheld an archaic and notedly racist establishment if they had just been nicer to her, but that fails to acknowledge how many Black people (especially ones who look like Markle) cling to whiteness and hold onto faith in institutions that have historically harmed us right up until the inevitable moment they let us down. "
"Markle’s experience is not the same as so many Black women who don’t have to imagine what would have happened if she were darker because we live in that truth every day. But the specifics of her story are still all-too familiar. "

Unfortunately another royal post. But I wanted to put forward a Black woman's perspective on this. And I thought the author's (Kathleen Newman-Bremang) point of view was pretty balanced.

New Books Hitting Shelves This Week

Last Call: A True Story of Love, Lust, and Murder in Queer New York

The Townhouse Bar, midtown, July 1992: The piano player seems to know every song ever written, the crowd belts out the lyrics to their favorites, and a man standing nearby is drinking a Scotch and water. The man strikes the piano player as forgettable.

He looks bland and inconspicuous. Not at all what you think a serial killer looks like. But that’s what he is, and tonight, he has his sights set on a gray haired man. He will not be his first victim.

Nor will he be his last.

The Last Call Killer preyed upon gay men in New York in the ‘80s and ‘90s and had all the hallmarks of the most notorious serial killers. Yet because of the sexuality of his victims, the skyhigh murder rates, and the AIDS epidemic, his murders have been almost entirely forgotten.

This gripping true-crime narrative tells the story of the Last Call Killer and the decades-long chase to find him. And at the same time, it paints a portrait of his victims and a vibrant community navigating threat and resilience.

House GOP's demand hearing on court ordered conservatorships & are concerned over Britney Spears

Disgraced Gop's Gym Jordan & beavis and butt head lookalike Matt Gaetz demand Jerry Nadler to hold a hearing on court ordered conservatorships. The dip shit duo mention international superstar, double diamond album selling and grammy award winner Britney Spears as a point of interest about the topic. Out of all the shit that is going on right now we don't know why this a top priority both Gym Jordan & Matt are taking on. The Free Britney movement exposed the cruelty and abuse that court appointed conservatorships undergo. Currently Jordan is Under Scrutiny for failing to report Nearly $3 Million in Campaign Funds, while Gaetz still remains an asshole.

Directors Guild of America announces film nominations

A day after releasing its TV nominations, the Directors Guild of America released its nominations for feature film directing. The DGA winner (who is going to be Chloé Zhao, let's not pretend there's much of a race happening here) is virtually locked to win the Best Director Oscar, while the DGA's nominees are typically 4/5 of the Academy's choices (they've gone 5/5 twice in the last twenty years), so pick which of the five you hope to see replaced by somebody else at the Oscars.

In a genuinely weird result, Emerald Fennell was nominated in the main category for film directing, but did not make the cut for best debut director, even though this is (of course) her directorial debut.

A true artist with boundless musical talent — Naomi was certain she’d go on to mainstream success after the group’s demise. She hasn’t, singing and playing her guitar in crappy dive bars where all people want is her old persona.

Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet, Yana Perrault cast as live-action Powerpuff Girls

Ordered to pilot last month, the drama revolves around the Powerpuff Girls, who used to be America's pint-sized superheroes. Now they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?

Cameron will play Bubbles Utonium, whose sweet-girl disposition won America's hearts as a child. She still sparkles as an adult, but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested in recapturing her fame than saving the world, but she just might surprise us and herself.

Bennet is set as Blossom Utonium, who, though she was a spunky, conscientious, little-miss-perfect child who holds several advanced degrees, Blossom’s repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again — this time on her own terms.

Perrault rounds out the leading trio as Buttercup Utonium, who was the rebellious badass of The Powerpuff Girls in its heyday. More sensitive than her tough exterior suggests, Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to shed her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.
