Keira Knightley Will No Longer Do Sex Scenes Under “The Male Gaze”

- During an episode of the Chanel Connects podcast, the actress talked with filmmaker Lulu Wang and producer/journalist Diane Solway "that she is no longer willing to do nude or sex scenes with a male director" saying “It’s partly vanity and also it’s the male gaze. I feel very uncomfortable now trying to portray the male gaze.”

- Keira continued saying. “I don’t want it to be those horrible sex scenes where you’re all greased up and everybody is grunting. I’m not interested in doing that. Saying that, there’s times where I go, ‘Yeah, I completely see where this sex would be really good in this film and you basically just need somebody to look hot.’”

- Now as a mother of two (daughters Edie, 5, & Delilah, 1) Keira said, “I’m too vain and the body has had two children now and I’d just rather not stand in front of a group of men naked”.

Though she hasn't completely said no to nude scenes if it were a woman director saying “If I was making a story that was about that journey of motherhood and body [acceptance] I feel like, I’m sorry, but that would have to be with a female filmmaker. I don’t have an absolute ban, but I kind of do with men.”

ONTD Original: The one where I report on some WandaVision theories from the internet

Hello, fellow ontders.

It's been a while.

What I want to put forth today is a curated collection of theories regarding the Disney+ show, WandaVision, that I've seen around the internet. This won't be a comprehensive post. I won't be touching upon every theory. And I sure don't claim to believe or have made up all of these. But it's hard to track their origins, so sources* might be hard to conjure up [insert agnes winking here]. Not to mention those are in all in my own words... Would this mean this is an ontd original? I don't know. But I think it could be.

Join me and this unusual couple, in trying to understand when we've been watching, won't you?

Warning: This post is long and full of images. I'm sorry.

*NOTE TO MODS: I've added the sources for the links, but I honestly don't have sources for the theories themselves, they're stuff I've seen around and just decided to round up in my own words and turn into content for ontd myself. I don't claim to have created them, but I genuinely don't know how to source them, as they're literally everywhere online. Any tips in case it has to get rejected again? I'd appreciate them. Thanks!

‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ Prequel Series Casts Jodie Turner-Smith

She has been cast in a lead role in Netflix’s prequel series “The Witcher: Blood Origin.”

The six-episode limited series will take place 1,200 years before the events of “The Witcher,”
It will show the backstory of the elven civilization before its fall.

Turner-Smith will play a warrior named Éile, who was blessed with the voice of a goddess and leaves her clan and role as the queen’s guardian to follow her heart and embark on a journey as a nomadic musician. A grand reckoning on the continent forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption.

Lil’ Kim wants Teyana Taylor to play her in a biopic

Lil’ Kim has hinted that her biopic is coming and she wants to keep the casting close to home.

“It can only be a girl that’s from the hood that I’m from [to portray me]. There’s nobody else in the industry at all but Teyana. I love Teyana, but she’s from Harlem. Before Teyana, I would love to get some little girls from Brooklyn a chance so I can connect. Really connect.”

Naturi Naughton was cast to play her in 2009’s “Notorious”, Lil'Kim was disgusted by this choice.

FKA Twigs details racist online abuse during Robert Pattinson relationship

FKA Twigs has described racist abuse she suffered online while she was in a relationship with R. Pattinson.
They began dating in 2014 and parted ways in 2017.

[TW for abuse]
Whatever she did at that time people would find pictures of monkeys and have her doing the same thing as the monkey. If she was wearing a red dress they would have a monkey in a red dress or she was on a bike they would find a monkey on a bike.

“I feel like if I was going through it now I would be able to talk about it and do some good with it. But I don’t know whether it was to do with my age or because of the social climate or being black and from Cheltenham and from a low income family, and having to genuinely work twice as hard at everything I do to get a seat at the table. People talk about black excellence but that is because we have to be excellent to be considered everage. I worked so, so, so, hard just to get a little seat at the table and then I got there and people just called me the most hurtful and ignorant names on the planet.”

“He was their white prince charming and I think they considered that he should definitely be with somebody white and blonde and not me."

It's a Sin, Russell T Davies' new queer miniseries, is now streaming in the UK/AU/NZ

Russell T Davies (Queer as Folk, Doctor Who, Cucumber/Banana/Tofu) is back with a five-part miniseries, It's a Sin (yes, titled after the Pet Shop Boys hit), that has received rave reviews. It tells the story over a decade of five young queer people who move to London in the early 80s to pursue their dreams, blissfully unaware of the medical and political tragedies that were to unfold soon. The show has been praised for striking a balance between wit and emotional heft, with several reviewers drawing parallels between the HIV crisis and the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The show stars Olly Alexander (from the synthpop band Years & Years), with guest parts from big names including Neil Patrick Harris, Keeley Hawes and Stephen Fry.

The series will follow a weekly Friday broadcast schedule on Channel 4 in the UK, but all episodes are already available for streaming on its All 4 service. It is also fully available to stream on TVNZ, while it will be uploaded on a weekly schedule through Stan in Australia. The show is set to hit HBO Max (USA) on Feburary 18, and Prime Video (Canada) sometime later in 2021.

Pedro Pascal for GQ México y Latam

She is the icon and she is the moment --

What's that you say? Another Pedro post? Well it beats yet another Chris post, sooo...

Mr. Pascal recently did a profile with GQ México y Latam, officially making him, in ancient ONTD parlance, a 'GQ motherfucker/BAMF'.

On Chile and being Chilean-American: "To be in Chile is to be at home, but my life has been very nomadic, living different places and having many influences; so it is strange, I do not feel as though my identity is completely Chilean or completely American."

My parents are Chilean, my brothers were born there before my parents traveled [...] It has always been there [..] and it will always be a part of me. I don't know if this answers your question, but it has a lot to do with who I am."

On Latin-American cinema: It means as much to him as American cinema, and Y tu mamá también is one of his favourite films.

On his upcoming project with Nicolas Cage: "It's my first shot at comedy, as a complete story within the genre. Speaking of American influences, in the 80s I saw all the films starring Nicolas Cage. It's great to be his partner after seeing all his performances."
