Rita Ora Apologizes For Breaking Lockdown Rules To Host 30th Birthday Party, Faces 13K Fine




badgalrita says she feels “embarrassed” over her “inexcusable error of judgement” in throwing a 30th birthday party in London. The UK is currently in the midst of a second national lockdown.

The “I Will Never Let You Down” singer was spotted entering a West London restaurant on Saturday night with friends including Cara and Poppy Delevingne, Vas Morgan and her sister Elena. Ora rented out the entire restaurant, but claims it was a “spur of the moment” thing.

Police were seen peering through the windows of the supposedly closed Casa Cruz restaurant in Notting Hill.


Rita or the restaurant could be fined £10,000 (roughly $13,300) for breaching lockdown rules, which have been in place since November 5th and are due to end on December 2nd.

Phoebe Bridgers released the music video for "Savior Complex" on Facebook today.

The black & white clip was directed by Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and stars Normal People's Paul Mescal.

Last summer, Bridgers spoke to Rolling Stone about Waller-Bridge and the normalization of being a regular person.

“I want to normalize personhood,” she said. “I feel like Phoebe Waller-Bridge has done that really well. She’s normalizing being regular, doing stuff that everybody does like masturbating and stealing shit…I think it’s literally more of a stumbling on the name. People who half know who I am and half know who she is, morphing us. I love it. I love any association. She’s so cool.”

This is the second music video Mescal has starred in, having previously worked with the Rolling Stones on "Scarlet".

Arecibo telescope, star of "Contact" and "Goldeneye", collapses, ending 57-year run



The Arecibo Observatory is gone. Its 900-ton instrument platform, suspended above a dish in the karst hills of Puerto Rico, collapsed this morning, at about 8 a.m. local time, says Ramon Lugo, director of the Florida Space Institute at the University of Central Florida, which manages the 57-year-old radio telescope for the National Science Foundation (NSF). On 19 November, NSF decided to decommission the observatory following two cable breaks that put the platform on the brink of collapse. But in the end, it couldn’t survive long enough for a controlled demolition.

HBO Max to have WW84 in 4K HDR & Dolby Atmos


Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins has just announced that HBO is rolling out the red carpet for the film when it debuts on the service Christmas Day, giving it a 4K HDR & Dolby Atmos release.

HBO Max currently has nothing available to stream at that level of quality, something it lacks compared to every other major streamer. It's unknown if this opens the door for a 4K rollout or if it's just a one-off.

In other HBO Max news, Warners has denied Netflix the bidding rights to release Godzilla vs Kong, so this is likely another major film that will debut on the streamer in the coming months.

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone to Star in Netflix Comedy Series



Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are reteaming for a Netflix workplace comedy.

The couple will star in God's Favorite Idiot. Falcone is the series creator and the couple will be executive producers, via their On the Day production company.

The plot: A mid-level tech support employee Clark Thompson (Falcone) falls in love with his co-worker Amily Luck (McCarthy). At the same time, he discovers he has become the unwilling messenger of God. Also, there’s rollerskating, a lake of fire and an impending apocalypse.

Netflix has sent out an order for 16 episodes.

This is Falcone’s and McCarthy’s sixth collaboration. Falcone and McCarthy previously teamed on Tammy, The Boss, Life of the Party, Superintelligence and Thunder Force.

Good News by Megan Thee Stallion debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 89,500 album units. BTS topped the chart with 217,100 album units.

Korea passed controversial "BTS Law" allowing certain pop artists to postpone enlistment

The bill passed in a lower court last week and the National Assembly just voted to pass it today - 2 again, 13 abstained, 253 in favor.

The law will allow idols who receive special recognition from the government to delay their mandatory enlistment until 30 - a luxury recently taken away from average citizens as the government promised to crack down on those (famous or otherwise) attempting to dodge enlistment.

Apple Snags Bilingual Comedy Starring Eugenio Derbez



Acapulco is set in 1984 and follows a young Mexican man who gets a job at the city's hottest resort. The position turns out to be much more complicated than he thought, and soon he's questioning his beliefs and morals. Derbez will narrate the series and appear on screen as the present-day version of the main character.

Austin Winsberg will serve as showrunner for the series, with How I Met Your Mother veteran Chris Harris as co-showrunner. They executive produce with Eduardo Cisneros; Shuman; 3Pas Studios' Derbez and Ben Odell; and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum of The Tannenbaum Company.
