Oscar Winner Helen Mirren said via a Zoom conversation with Royal Shakespeare Company artistic director Gregory Doran that Shakespeare should not be taught in school since "drowning through" the plays in class with 11 or 12 year olds could be "off-putting".
Instead students should see his work on stage saying "All young people’s experience of Shakespeare should be live theatre". Adding that it more likely to spark an eagerness in his writing when watching an production of one of his plays.
She continued by saying that it can be an difficult task to “making this sometimes archaic language alive and accessible…not alienating” and that her incessant battle with Shakespeare is “that you have to go through the head – but I [want] it not just to stay in the head.”
Mirren also talked with Doran about gender swaps in modern production of Shakespeare plays stating "I’m so happy now that women can do Hamlet, do Richard III, do Lear, as Glenda Jackson just did. It certainly was beyond any possibility when I was in my twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, sixties. It was just impossible."
Mirren joined the RSC in 1965 and has played various Shakespeare roles included "Rosalind in As You Like It, Lady Macbeth, Cleopatra opposite Alan Rickman’s Antony, and, on film, a gender-flipped version of Prospero in The Tempest".
Mulaney, who recently joined the Late Night writing team, spoke with Seth about America's ongoing fascination with the royal family. John says that at the beginning of the year Harry and Meghan leaving the royal family was supposed to be the biggest story but then covid happened and overshadowed everything. Mulaney has a long history of being a bit obsessed with the royal family; he talks about Princess Diana in his first Netflix special, New In Town, and earlier this year released a fake podcast as his "Oh, Hello" character, George St. Geegland that focused on the death of Princess Diana.
One Day at a Time has been cancelled once again, after being rescued by ViacomCBS owned Pop TV following its Netflix cancellation.
Pop TV has decided to exit the scripted landscape, so CBS All Access wanted to cary the 5th season of the show, but Netflix won't allow it.
Sony TV, the production company behind the beloved comedy, plans to shop it once again, homing to find another home for it.

YO A TI, CAS
15.18 aired last night in Latin America with one interesting change - instead of Dean's brain going offline after Cas' confession and telling him not to do this, he says "Me too" instead, therefore making Destiel requited. Several videos of the scene confirm this, which means they changed it for the US airing and someone fucked up when it came time for it to air in Latin America. Jensen revealed at a virtual con recently that they cut some of Dean's response to the confession and that we didn't see everything. And an ex dubbing translator says they can't change the script they've been given.
an honest assessment of who we’ve been; the bad fashion decisions, questionable facial hair, and, to be fair, a pretty respectable collection of guitars......So, we invite you to crane your neck, and join us in taking a look at what taking a look looks like…or something.
You can see pictures from their first concert ever and how well the guys actually remember their career. A lot of roasting and laughs by all. Appearances by members of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Willie Nelson, & Rush.
-Dave says the acoustic tour was one of his favorite and Taylor says it was a hard tour for him because Dave is a chatty cathy and Taylor would get bored.
-Taylor played with Rush and was the second person to drum for them after lead singer and drummer Neil Peart.
-They built their own studio around 2004. Dave told everyone they had to come help build the studio. That lasted a day because they had to do math to build and it was hard. “In Your Honor” was thankfully still made.

Who are the best film performers of the last 20 years? This list of 25 actors is "both necessarily subjective and possibly scandalous in its omissions,” our critics, @ManohlaDargis and @aoscott, write. Here is a sampling. https://t.co/BHUmQCX0Z5— New York Times Arts (@nytimesarts) November 25, 2020
New York Times film critics Manohla Dargis and AO Scott have complied a list of the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century.
The duo gaved Denzel Washington the top spot.
The list also includes actors like Gael García Bernal, Alfre Woodard, Song Kang Ho and Keanu Reeves.
Sohla El-Waylly is here showing us how to upgrade our Thanksgiving leftovers. First up, stuffing dumpling soup (0:45), which puts leftover turkey to work in a broth and transforms stuffing into dumplings. Next is a stuffing panzanella (6:42), which reuses stuffing in a bright, textural salad that ties in familiar Thanksgiving flavors. Last, but not least, Sohla's epic leftover turkey club (10:58). It uses cranberry mayo, brussels sprouts, stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, so you can have the best of Thanksgiving dinner all in one bite.

• Former 1D member, Niall Horan took to Twitter yesterday to "jokingly" lament the lack of awards recognition his sophomore effort Heartbreak Weather received.
• He followed that up with a response to a fan that he was joking:
I wasn’t .. I’ll make the music and it’s ok if they decide it’s not Grammy worthy this year. I’ll try my best and hopefully it happens next time or another year. .— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) November 25, 2020
• These tweets come after a long campaign for his sophomore album which involved a lot of lowkey sniping at fans and subtle demands they do more to make the album a success (an ontd post about one of these moments)

Explores how "Schitt's Creek's" storytelling and ending makes it so much more than a Canadian adaptation of "Arrested Development." "Schitt's Creek," itself, is very much the opposite.
ONTD, which citizen of Schitt's Creek had the best character development? And why was it Alexis?

I understand infertility is a hard thing to come to terms with, but I just don't get why she was so condescending about other women dealing with it. I hope it came across in my summary but if not, the essay itself is worth a skim.
After being criminally snubbed by The Grammys, 2020 saviour Rina Sawayama has risen above it and released yet another life-giving bop called Lucid, produced by BloodPop.
Diane Keaton wasn't a fan of #GodfatherPartIII when she saw it in 1990. Watching Francis Ford Coppola's re-edited version, #GodfatherCoda, has made her a convert. "I saw the movie in a completely different light." https://t.co/i3ZJwAVmuz— Brent Lang (@BrentALang) November 25, 2020
Godfather trilogy star Diane Keaton, like most others, admits she wasn't a fan of Part III: “I didn’t. I kind of just dismissed it and thought, ‘oh well.'”
But after seeing the newly re-edited version that director Francis Ford Coppola has created, Diane has changed her outlook on the film completely: “It was one of the best moments of my life to watch it. To me it was a dream come true. I saw the movie in a completely different light."
Diane also thinks people will rethink the performance of Sofia Coppola, calling her "fantastic." Sofia's performance has been trashed since release and earned her a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress.
Newly titled "The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone," this new cut of the film has a completely different beginning and ending, shuffles around lots of scenes inbetween and is about 10 minutes shorter. Francis Ford Coppola considers this an epilogue rather than a third installment as was his original intention. This comes a year after Coppola released brand-new cuts of Apocalypse Now and The Cotton Club.
Coda will have a theater release on December 4 before becoming available for home media on December 8.

Me about this show:
Lil Nas X takes us behind the scenes of the music video for his latest single in which he serves us looks and instantly iconic lyrics.
ENTERING THE FANTASTIC FOUR, DC EDITION
Tom Welling exuding daddy energy (fuck you, ONTD, for making me feel like I had to type that out) with a charm that was absent through Smallville’s ten season run. He’s pushing for a Cheaper by the Dozen 3.
Kristin Kreuk chilling in Winnipeg, looking beautiful as fuck (not shocking) wearing a messy bun in an apartment that isn’t hers.
Michael Rosenbaum (a.k.a DJ Sexy Lexy) greeted the meeting with an old polaroid of him and Tom Welling, shirtless, during the first season of Smallville. He allegedly hands that very photo out to fans at cons lmao. He’s wearing a hat so no CW necessary for those used to seeing him bald. Fun fact: In high school, Michael Rosenbaum played Mr. Vince Fontaine from Grease.
Erica Durance came in completely awkward and adorable. RIP those stunning smile lines (fuck you, neckbeards, who ever said anything negative about this face omg - she talks very briefly about this at 36:20).

[Video Highlights (Quotes)]Some highlights from the video:
Clark: When I saw you on Blue Mountain State*, I was so jealous. I was like, ‘I wanna be on that show!’
Aquaman: You wanted to swallow dildos every week?
*OP note: Blue Mountain State (2010 – 2011) was a very dudebro show that probably would have thrived in the early 00s when films like American Pie and The Girl Next Door were taking over.
What is one thing that, even to this day, you carry away with you as being a part of Smallville?
Lex: I physically took things from the set, that's what I took.
(OP Note: Laura Vandervoort reveals later in the video that she took her Krypton cuff, to which Michael approved.)
Lois: *Saying the sweetest things about the impact Smallville had on her*
Supergirl: Michael distracting from your answer...
Lex: I'm not doing anything!
Lex: Alan, you really look good.
Clark: I know!
Lex: Can you e-mail me what you're doing? How do you do that?
Aquaman: I've got a Canon 5D, you just hook it up to the computer.
Lois: I think he's asking, like, if you work out or something.
Fan in the chat saying Alan is the best Aquaman.
Aquaman: It's always bizarre to me to hear people enjoyed my Aquaman time on the show because this was the first thing I ever did. I walked on the set completely clueless and I'm looking around, trying to absorb as much as I can, and, you know, you've got Rosenbaum farting behind the desk during the scene...
Lana: *Nods aggressively*
We all know Doomsday from the comics; he kills Superman, we see him as the big Kryptonite-covered monster, and you come in as this human iteration of him...
Doomsday: One of the funniest things is to try to go on set and menace Tom. I'm 6'1" and I'm like, 'yeah, sure, I've menaced people on television before, I'll go and I'll pick on him.' And then I meet Tom and he's 6'4"! So I'm like, '[looks up and points] hey! I'm gonna get you!'
Doomsday: Tom was an awesome example of what you're supposed to do as the lead of a series. He showed up every day, chipper and in a good mood. You're like, 'yeah, he's in a good mood, we're all in a good mood, it's great!' but then [he goes on] to do something where [he's] demanded to be in every scene, every day, and never have a day off. I didn't do as well as Tom, I was a moody son of a bitch where I'm like, 'wow, how did Tom Welling do it? God, I'm disgraceful with my horrible mood.'
Clark: I remember season 2 or 3 of Supernatural and Jensen and Jared were like, 'we need to go to dinner, we're taking you to dinner, we're paying' so we go to dinner and they go, 'dude, we're working all these nights, how can we not work nights?' I'm like, '...well, it's called Supernatural and it happens at night.'
Clark: When [Michael] did come back [for the series finale], the scene we had, they did this big crane shot that comes down over... it goes up and it shows the Luthor mansion, it's all destroyed, and it goes all the way down and all of a sudden Michael walks in... and he goes, "LINE!" He forgot his line! And I'm like, 'nothing's changed!'
Aquaman: They pitched me this idea [for Titans]; Hank Hall is an alcoholic, pill-popping vigilante in a very dark, gritty world. It sounded really cool! I'm a persona actor so I wanted to play myself.
Kara: To finally see [Supergirl] have a series was great and I wanted to support that. So I just said, 'I'd love to be bad, I'd love to look nothing like myself' and they came up with Indigo who's entirely blue with pink hair which was a lot of fun. Also a Mystique rip-off, so we don't need to get into that! I don't know how they got away with it.
Aquaman: *Sharing how grateful he is for the show and what it did for his career and how happy he is to be here*
Doomsday: *More or less the same as Alan, just more concise*
Interviewer: DJ Sexy Lexy?
Lex, playing with his dogs: What?
Like Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum do throughout this entire video, do you still flirt with your old friend(s) of 20 years?
In all honesty, this is the best virtual reunion I've ever seen. These are always so boring, but Tom and Michael juice it up and make everyone feel so comfortable. We need more of those fucks together tbh
-The revival that lead to the era of revivals got an official reunion on CWSeed
-The show got a ton of press before its premiere and helped Jennie Garth & Shannen Doherty mend their broken relationship from Beverly Hills 90210.
-Ran for 5 seasons before the network cancelled the show unexpectedly and without proper notice.
-Hillary Duff was originally offered the role of Annie but turned it down.
-Annalynn and Shenae put their feud to rest before the show ended which lead to Annalynn being in Shenaes wedding
-The 6th season would've had a time jump allowing the characters to be full on adults with careers and delve more into La/Hollywood lifestyle.
-The show would ultimately go through 3 show runners over its 5 seasons, each wanting to take the show in a different route. Most notably banning the OG cast from appearing from S2 onwards.
Do you think there will be a 3rd revival of the (BH)90210 franchise? And if so should they ignore 90210 continuity?

Basically to summarize –– An app called Famera purchased a Lindsay Lohan cameo and had her recite bizarre phrases and added flatulence sounds. The video then became a sponsored ad on Tik Tok where it did nothing but create mass confusion.
As for the app itself, its described as "essentially a Gen Z-branded, 'psychedelic” video-chat app that transposes people’s disembodied heads onto little bodies in various locales and allows you to “call your friends and chill in magical spaces'". Whatever that means.
