Leslie Odom Jr. Almost Didn't Appear in Hamilton Film; Needed Pay Equal to Grease Live's Aaron Tveit



On the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, Leslie Odom Jr. — who originated the role of Aaron Burr in Hamilton, for which he won the Best Actor in a Musical Tony and a Best Musical Theater Album Grammy — talked about nearly refusing to participate in the Disney+ version because of a last-minute, lowball offer.

He was still in negotiations until the night before filming because, Leslie says, "no one had called my agent to ask if I'd wanted to do [the filmed play]. It was assumed that we wanted to do the movie and that we would do it for a certain number."

Leslie asked his agent to find out how much Aaron Tveit was paid for his role as Danny in Grease: Live on Fox earlier in the year, and demanded the same fee.

"This is my area of expertise," he says. "This is my life's work, this is all I have. This is my life's work on the stage. I can't give it away."

He goes on to say, "This is Hamilton! So when I found out how much [Aaron] made, I didn't ask for a penny more, but I said, 'You must pay me exactly what that white boy got to do Grease: Live.'"

Leslie talked more in-depth about racism and pay in the theater industry, and fighting for profit-sharing for Hamilton's cast (many of whom were essentially co-creators of the show), in a June interview with the LA Times.

Oprah Gets Bashed By Ted Cruz For Saying "Whiteness still gives you an advantage, no matter what”

On April 4th, The Blaze posted a tweet about their article on Oprah Winfrey about a recent episode on her series called "The Oprah Converstion". The episode was titled “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man: Part 1” — featuring former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho. Oprah also invited several white people to discuss “racism,” “white privilege,” and “whiteness.

Rafael Ted Cruz got upset and offended by Oprah's statement and proceeds to call it "racist":

This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

Lovecraft Country is executive produced by show runner Misha Green, J.J. Abrams, Jordan Peele, Bill Carraro, Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim and David Knoller.

Travis Kelce & Girlfriend Kayla Nicole Split Amid Cheating Accusations



NFL’s Travis Kelce and longtime girlfriend Kayla Nicole have split. The couple started dating in 2017.

Kelce (30) confirmed the news on social media after calling out a TMZ story accusing the football player of cheating.

In a now deleted tweet, Kelce responded to a TMZ story claiming "Girlfriend of NFL Player Travis Kelce LEAVES Him After He Got Caught W/ Becky."

Kelce posted: "This is fake news... a lie... and not why Kayla and I broke up... take all your hatred somewhere else please.”

Kayla has deleted all of their photos off of Instagram.

A rep for Kelce did not respond to a request to comment on their split.

Keke Palmer Joins Disney+ Proud Family Reboot as Teen Activist: 'Dreams Come True!'​



Disney+ announced on Twitter that Keke Palmer has joined the cast of the revival of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

Palmer will voice a new character, a 14-year-old activist named Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins.

The Proud Family originally aired from 2001-2005 on the Disney Channel. Palmer, 26, has worked with Disney before. She starred in the 2007 Disney Channel Original Movie, Jump IN!

Keke shared her excitement about the news on Twitter.

- Jason revealed that he secretly decided to restore Lisa's first-ever car a 1965 Ford Mustang she bought when she was 17.
- He brought the vintage car to Las Vegas' Devine Customs, with the video showcasing the auto-makeover from start to finish. We see the Mustang car being taken apart and put back together, as it transforms with brand new leather seats and a shiny jet black paint job.

Lilly Wachowski confirms The Matrix is a trans narrative



'I'm glad that people are talking about The Matrix movies with a trans narrative. I love how meaningful these movies are to trans people who come up to me and say 'These movies saved my life'.
When you talk about transformation, specifically in the world of science-fiction [...] the idea of the seemingly impossible becoming possible speaks to [trans people] so much. I'm grateful that I can be throwing [trans people] a rope to help them on their journey.'

New Teasers for 'Wonder Woman 1984'

The official Instagram account for Wonder Woman 1984 released two brief teasers for the movie on the new Instagram Reels feature. The short clips don't show much, but both allude to the transformation of Kristen Wiig's character, Barbara Minerva, into the iconic villain Cheetah. A new trailer for the film is expected to debut soon, likely in time for DC's virtual Fandome event on August 22. Wonder Woman 1984 is still scheduled for release in theaters on October 2. Zendaya covers the September 2020 issue of In Style, uses an all Black creative team for the shoot



Zendaya is the cover star for the September 2020 issue of In Style. For the issue, Zendaya choose to work with a team of Black creatives for the photoshoot.

She worked with her longtime stylist Law Roach and photography duo Ahmad Barber and Donté Maurice. The issue will be available on August 21.

Zendaya spoke with activist and Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors about everything from her new projects, to coping with anxiety, and about racial injustice. Zendaya talked about why she chose to work with an all-Black team for this cover.

"I've always had a Black stylist and Black hair and makeup artists. But we were able to work with two talented young Black photographers on this shoot too," Zendaya told Cullors. "We're actually around the same age, so it was cool to be with my peers and have an opportunity to show what we can do."

There is a documentary currently playing on HBO called Showbiz Kids directed by Alex Winter

Winter interviewed a lot of Hollywood stars about their experiences as child stars in Hollywood.

Some of the actors interviewed include Jada Pinkett Smith, Henry Thomas (ET), Mara Wilson (Mrs. Doubtfire), Todd Bridges (Diff’rent Strokes), Wil Wheaton (Stand By Me), Milla Jovavich (The Fifth Element), and Cameron Boyce (Jessie).

Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) talked about how the intense competition for movie and TV jobs actually fuels the rampant mistreatment of children in the industry.

After a while it becomes, “Who can take the most abuse?” Somebody’s waiting in line ready to take your place, so you just start to allow yourself to be abused in some form or another.

Evan made it clear that this experience is not unique among child actors : "Every actor is guilty of that. You’re lying if you say you aren’t, because it’s just part of the deal. And, unfortunately, there’s always going to be someone willing to take the abuse and stay quiet."

She focused on the abuse of young boys in the business. "In my experience, I know a lot of kids that grew up in the industry. And what surprised me when I got older was finding out that pretty much all of the young men were abused in some way, sexually."

Then she detailed how overwhelmed she felt one year at The Golden Globe Awards : I was at the Golden Globes. I watched a ped*phile win. I knew – not a lot of people know, but I know – that he has mol*sted boys in the industry. I watched him get up and accept an award… and I walked out and just started sobbing! A bunch of people ran after me and they said, “What? What? What’s wrong?” I was just like, “I don’t know if I can do this anymore. I can’t keep watching this happen. I don’t know how to handle this. This has to stop.”

She did not name the man who won the award.

Favorite dinosaur? Mine was always the Stegosaurus when I was little, probably because they had their own song. Dilophosaurus truly is THAT bitch & Velociraptors are really cool when you see what they probably actually looked like, covered in feathers!
