Gargoyles is an amazing show with some great representation. The show itself is an animation masterpiece, with great voice acting, dramatic and Shakeaspearian storylines, and some of the best morally complex villains on TV.
... But you know, Disney still made it, so of course it wasn't perfect. Greg Weisman has stated that the writers only came to the decision that Lexington was gay towards the end of the series, but in a AMA on his personal website, he confirmed what everyone knew anyways: that there was no way Disney would have let Lexington be openly gay in the mid 90s.
Still, Lexington was eventually going to end up with a mate in the comics, a gargoyle from a London clan called Staghart. Staghart was to be an openly gay gargoyle that helped Lexington figure his sexuality out, and they would eventually hook up. But the comics were canceled before they got together.
There's always been a lot of talk of Disney rebooting Gargoyles. If that day ever comes, maybe they can finally make Lexington gay as he's inten... lmao just kidding I know Disney's not gonna do it.

She may have shaved her head, but that doesn't mean that Haddish is in the middle of some nervous breakdown. She hopped on Instagram and cut her hair off. Haddish was met with criticisms as people accused her of being in the midst of some mental break.
"Why when a woman decides, 'Hey, I'm gonna cut this hair off because I wanna see my scalp,' she gotta have a mental problem? I'm not suffering from no emotional nothing. I've literally been talking about this for years, how I wanna see my scalp. I know every single part of my body. I know where every single mole is."

In a new interview with Forbes magazine, he reveals:
-He had been ill in February with COVID-19: “Chills, shaking in the bed, taking hot showers, looking at videos telling me what I’m supposed to do to get over it. I remember someone had told me Drake had the coronavirus and my response was Drake can’t be sicker than me!”
-He's suspicious of any vaccines developed to prevent the infection: “It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed… So when they say the way we’re going to fix Covid is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious. That’s the mark of the beast. They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven. I’m sorry when I say they, the humans that have the Devil inside them. And the sad thing is that, the saddest thing is that we all won’t make it to heaven, that there’ll be some of us that do not make it. Next question.”
-He also was asked about abortion and said, “I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the bible.”
- Because white people have been doing the perforative MOST (TM) these past few weeks and it shows no signs of slowing down - The trio dropped the Antebellum in their name to Lady A because in their big age FINALLY leaned the term Antebellum had negative connotations - However, "Lady A" has been the stage name of a black blues singer (Anita White) who expressed disappointment the group didn't reach out to her about the name change - These white folks have asked a Nashville court to trademark their gentrified name because Anita wanted compensation (~$10 million) which the band will not settle - The group's lawyers are citing that "Prior to 2020, White did not challenge the plaintiff's widespread use of the term or sale of their merchandise" - White claims that the decision for both acts to continue as "Lady A" was quite "premature"

2 of Jean-Michel Basquiat‘s iconic artworks have found new canvases. After collaborating with PLEASURES last month, Dr. Martens has immortalized the late artist’s enigmatic aesthetic on its 1460 and 1461 silhouettes
The 1460 is etched with Basquait’s cover art for Beat Bop, single by hip-hop artists Rammellzee and K-Rob — its original pressing is widely regarded as the “Holy Grail” of rap records due to its rarity. The design is a slight departure from the typical approach, only drawing the artwork in black and white instead of his usual use of color. The motifs, however, are consistent with his style — chaotic graffiti-like imagery of bones, crowns, an explosion with “BANG!” in it and roman numerals. The artwork is emblazoned on the upper body of the boots, accented by yellow stitching along the seams.
In contrast to the monochromatic piece, the 1461 embodies colors. The shoe incorporates Basquiat’s Dustheads, 1982, which sold for a record-breaking $48.8 million USD at Christie’s New York in 2013. The heel and upper parts have been kept black and minimal, bringing out the vivid artwork along the tongue and forefoot. The shoe boasts a tiny crown motif at the top.
The Jean-Michel Basquiat x Dr. Martens boots will be available on June 10, 12 p.m. EDT on Dr. Martens’ website, official prices revealed on day of release.
