Sneak peek to studio Ghibli’s new film “Aya and the witch”

For the past 36 years, the legendary movie studio and lauded genius Hayao Miyazaki, have stuck to an unmistakable hand drawn aesthetic. Even as Disney pivoted to 3D animation for all of their films (they haven’t released a traditionally animated film in over nine years), Ghibli stuck to their style.

But that seems about to change. The latest film, directed by Goro Miyazaki, son of Hayao, is a departure to CGI style. And looks like it’s animated entirely in 3D.

Based on the book by Howl’s Moving Castle author Diana Wynne Jones, tells the story of an orphaned girl named Aya whose adopted parents wind up being sorcerers. Aya moves into her new home and finds that it’s haunted by spirits and ghouls.

Much of the traditional Ghibli aesthetic remains. Some fans are divided on the new look, but there’s nothing to suggest this will become the new normal. After all, Ghibli lovers' appetites, unlike those who’ve engaged with Western animation like Disney’s, have consistently shown their love for the traditional way of how they make animated movies. If anything, this feels like a flashy, temporary detour before normal service resumes.

The film, which was due to bow at Cannes Film Festival last month, will be aired on Japanese television later in 2020.

Thousands want to rename Columbus, Ohio to Flavortown, Ohio to honor native cheflebrity Guy Fieri

- Nearly 40,000 people have signed the Change.org petition so far.

"Columbus is an amazing city, but one whose name is tarnished by the very name itself. Its namesake, Christopher Columbus, is in The Bad Place because of all his raping, slave trading, and genocide. That's not exactly a proud legacy.

Why not rename the city Flavortown? The new name is twofold. For one, it honors Central Ohio's proud heritage as a culinary crossroads and one of the nation's largest test markets for the food industry. Secondly, cheflebrity Guy Fieri was born in Columbus, so naming the city in honor of him (he's such a good dude, really) would be superior to its current nomenclature.

Let's get the ball rolling for a more flavorful tomorrow."

- Tyler Woodbridge, who created the petition last week, also supports changing the state capital's name after an indigenous figure instead.

New Books Hitting Shelves This Week

Take a Hint, Dani Brown

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

When big, brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it’s an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and former rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. But before she can explain that fact to him, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Suddenly, half the internet is shipping #DrRugbae—and Zaf is begging Dani to play along. Turns out his sports charity for kids could really use the publicity. Lying to help children? Who on earth would refuse?

Dani’s plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes. The trouble is, grumpy Zaf is secretly a hopeless romantic—and he’s determined to corrupt Dani’s stone-cold realism. Before long, he’s tackling her fears into the dirt. But the former sports star has issues of his own, and the walls around his heart are as thick as his... um, thighs.

The easy lay Dani dreamed of is now more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired? Is her focus being tested? Or is the universe just waiting for her to take a hint?

Former RHOC star Tamra Judge reveals why Heather Dubrow Was fired ......

RHOC star Tamra Judge revealed in a new interview that costar Heather DuBrow was actually fired and did not quit as previously reported.

Tamra told “Behind The Velvet Rope With David Yontef”, “ Their biggest mistake, The show has not been the same since she was gone. I think it was a personal thing, I really do. I think it was a personal conflict with an executive at Bravo. Podcast host Yontef then asked if she could expand on what “type” of personal conflict there was. “Like, personality clashes,” Tamra went on. “She wanted things done a certain way, but trust me, there’s people on the cast right now that are way worse. Way worse. On [the producers] like crazy, yelling and screaming, blowing their phones up … yeah.” “I felt like [Heather] was amazing on the show. She gave the show a little bit of class, a little bit more class than it has right now,” she stated. “She [always had] fun trips and exciting things planned for us and it’s not like something she just did for TV because she still does it. She took it bad. It was hard for her. She’s the one who taught me to unfollow everybody because it’s the easiest way to get over things,” Tamra stated. “She was also offered a part time role and didn’t take it. I think what they wanted to do was sort of smack her around and say, you know what, here’s a part time role and then the next year they probably would have brought her back. But I’m just speculating.”

Megan Fox Denies Being ''Preyed Upon'' By Michael Bay as Past Remarks Resurface

In a new statement, Fox responded to the internet's renewed interest in past comments she made about working with the director. Twitter users engaged with a resurfaced clip from a 2009 interview Fox gave Jimmy Kimmel.

Megan Fox says she's endured "genuinely harrowing experiences" as a woman in the entertainment industry, but they do not involve Michael Bay. The Transformers audition took place when she was between 19 and 20-years-old. Fox clarified that the audition did not take place at his home. Fox then thanked fans for their ongoing support.

"But these specific instances were inconsequential in a long and arduous journey along which I have endured some genuinely harrowing experiences in a ruthlessly misogynistic industry. There are many names that deserve to going viral in cancel culture right now, but they are safely stored in the fragmented recesses of my heart."

Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house reopens to concert with plants as audience

The opera house reopened Monday performing its first concert since the corona virus lockdown to an audience full of plants.

The UceLi Quartet played Giacomo Puccini’s I Crisantemi (Chrysanthemums) for 2,292 plants, one for each seat. The concert was also livestreamed for humans to watch. The event was conceived by Spanish artist Eugenio Ampudia who said he was inspired by nature taking its place during the pandemic.

“I heard many more birds singing... And, without a doubt, I thought I could now relate in a much intimate way with people and nature,” he said.

The theater says it will gift the plants to local health workers as a thank you for their efforts during the pandemic. Spain’s national state of emergency was lifted on Sunday after three months of restrictions on movement and assembly.

Emmanuelle Béart: her fond memory of Tom Cruise

Emmanuelle Béart played Claire Phelps in the first Mission Impossible movie.

In an interview with ""50 minutes inside", she recalls the casting process

To land the role, she has an appointment with Tom Cruise in an apartment for the casting. "I was told to pin this young man against the wall and put a gun on his temple. And since I have a good energy, let's say, I said to myself "Ok, I'm doing it". And so I caught him, but I don't think he expected it, and he said to himself "a little French girl ..." and I was hired immediately. "

Since then, Emmanuelle Béart has had very good memories of Tom Cruise. “I found him quite exciting as an actor, extremely professional and generous. I'd love to see him again, he's someone good. "

Winona Ryder Accuses Mel Gibson of Making Anti-Semitic and Homophobic Remarks

Ryder was asked by a reporter if she has experienced anti-semitism in the industry :
“I have … in interesting ways. There are times when people have said, ‘Wait, you’re Jewish? But you’re so pretty!’ There was a movie that I was up for a long time ago, it was a period piece, and the studio head, who was Jewish, said I looked ‘too Jewish’ to be in a blue-blooded family.”

“We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends. And Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we’re all talking and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’”

Ryder says Gibson “tried” to apologize later on.

Lena Waithe is calling on industry trades to pay proper attention to Black TV shows

Lena Waithe doesn’t expect her new show to get attention during awards season.

“Look, I just read The Hollywood Reporter, and The Hollywood Reporter has some explaining to do, because their list of TV/Emmy nominees, like, people that are hopefuls, all the Black shows are, like, on the long shot list or a major threat. It’s, like, don’t act like Black television is invisible. And that’s up to places like The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety, and all these trades, to not ignore the ‘Insecures,’ the ‘BlackAFs’ the ‘Dear White Peoples.’ They have ignored our shows for so long, and they act like we don’t even belong in the conversation. And I think it’s unfair. I think it’s not cool, and I don’t have any qualms about calling them out on that.”

Celebs going blonde! Kaia Gerber, Emily Ratatatata.... who's next?

Kaia admitted that she had gotten bored with her look in quarantine and was either going to cut or dye it. Here is how she did it:

'I don't know if I'd recommend this, but I just used hydrogen peroxide, a random DIY thing I saw online somewhere. I literally put the straight peroxide on my hair and then dried it with a blowdryer — just to hit it with heat — and it definitely lightened my colour a shade or two, just a subtle change.'

Meanwhile, Emrata, the new face of Kérastase, says this is the most she's ever changed up her look. She had never coloured her hair before and is happy to be emerging from the pandemic with a new look.

Remember When Shane Dawson Made a Video Where He Stalks and Murders Taylor Swift?

YouTuber Shane Dawson is in the news for his racist remarks and some drama with beauty guru Jeffree Star. This has brought a lot of his past actions back to the forefront.

But lots of people seem to have forgotten the "parody" he made of Taylor Swift's song "Blank Space." The video depicts him stalking Swift, breaking into her home, murdering her security guard, assaulting her, murdering her, and wearing her skin as a mask.

When he made the video in 2014, Swift's attorneys swiftly tried to remove it from YouTube so that it would not inspire more stalkers. Dawson gave some whiny interviews about how mean Swift was being to him.
