Copaganda show 'Cops' cancelled at Paramount Network, 'Live PD' still on-hold

- Follow-up to this post.
- The TV show "Cops" which has been created in 1989 and aired for 33 seasons has been cancelled by Paramount Network. The show has been criticized for editing cops in a good light and being racist.
- The 33rd season which was supposed to premiere on June 8 has been pulled from the channel since June 1 and won't be airing at all.
- Meanwhile A&E just pulled 'Live PD' off air and will "evaluate" when it'll come back.
- Live PD recently got into a controversy for airing a police chase which ended in the death of a black man, Javier Antonio Ambler II, while in police custody back in March 2019.

Now I hope Dick Wolf's copaganda empire is next but I know CBS will never....

‘The First Time’ With Actor Jay Ellis

Jay Ellis appears on the latest installment of Rolling Stone‘s “The First Time” .

He discusses his directorial debut on the show, partying with Issa Rae and meeting Tom Cruise

About his directorial debut:

Rae asked him to direct this season’s seventh episode: “I was like, ‘Yeah, I would love to direct an episode,'” “You’re crazy enough to give me one, I’m crazy enough to figure out how to do it.”

About Rae star-studded yacht parties:

“I don’t know how much detail I can actually give for these parties. Because first thing about yacht parties, you don’t talk about yacht parties!” Ellis says that the yacht departs from Long Beach with “enough alcohol to last you for the voyage from L.A. across the Pacific to Australia, if you needed it.”

About his first time meeting Tom Cruise at the table reading for Top Gun: Maverick:

“This dude hops off his motorcycle, peels his helmet off, puts his sunglasses on, walks into the room, has the biggest smile. The entire room lights up.” “He was everything you expect him to be and want him to be”

Randy Rainbow mocks Donald Trump in "The Bunker Boy" parody

Randy Rainbow, an American comedian and singer, has created yet another musical parody about Donald Trump.

‘Vanderpump’ Star says she was bullied by fellow cast mates!

Yesterday, ‘Vanderpump Rules’ cast members Stassi and Kristen were fired from the show and their former costar Charli Burnett reveals the TOXIC atmosphere they created on the set. In a just released interview with the “Behind The Velvet Rope With David Yontef” podcast, Charli did NOT hold back.

She says, “ I didn’t know it was Game Of Thrones . I didn’t ask for this. I was mistreated by the cast members. I have tried with these people. I have gone up to them and said hi. When you go up to someone 2 or 3 times and they don't even acknowledge you, let alone even put their hand out or even turn their back on you ..... Its kinds of like, “Oh ok, you aren’t even gonna try anymore.” They refused to even act like I am a human if I were filming with them. It's defeating.”

Charli says that Lisa Vanderpump talked her out of quitting the show. She says, “ Lisa said - I remember I was ready to quit SUR, quit everything she had an intense talk while the cameras were rolling she said, and I don't think it will be aired, I don't give a f*** about the cameras like I asked you to work here I asked you to be on the show I don't care what other people think they don't have to like you .... I do. It was something like that maybe not word for word - then I went to work my shift and said I am gonna stay here - I am gonna stay on the show - these people can BULLY me - they can talk about me and be mean - I can be the worst person on the show I am going to complete this task I a going to see this through.”

After Fan Backlash, Taylor Swift Finally Tweets About Black Lives Matter

She was sure to highlight the safest voice possible, former president Barack Obama. She ended her 3 tweet thread with a link with information about voting (a safe, obvious cause that's she's already been vocal about in the past):
Elle noted that this post was made only after ONTD publicized the fan letter that begged Taylor to speak out. She's still liked more tumblr posts about a cover of her song being on Killing Eve than anything about Black Lives Matter.

Also Taylor:

Since Taylor did very little to amplify to voices of those on the frontlines, here's a powerful video of author Kimberly Jones that went viral over the weekend:

NASCAR has banned Confederate flags from all racetracks

“Get rid of all Confederate flags,” Bubba Wallace said. “No one should feel uncomfortable when they come to a NASCAR race. It starts with Confederate flags. Get them out of here.”

Both the Navy and Marines recently banned the flag. The idea that a flag of an entity that fought against the United States of America was so prevalent inside the military of the United States of America shows how rooted the Confederacy and its symbols are in this country.

Mel B Opens Up About Experiences With Racism

- She was once asked to leave a designer store when shopping for an outfit to perform for Nelson Mandela and Prince Charles. The other girls had a go at the assistant, but Mel said she wasn't shocked because she almost expected it.
- Was told to straighten her hair for the Wannabe video, but refused because her hair was her identity, and so much of what the group stood for was celebrating differences.
- She recalls not being able to wear her hair back and a certain way in school, and how she'd often be the only brown person in the room during Spice Girls meetings.
- She once took Geri to an underground club in Leeds in an attempt to get her to understand how she felt. Everyone was black except her and Mel B explained, "That's what it's like for me nearly every day. I'm always the only brown girl in the room."
- Says that growing up in Leeds meant that she was the victim of racial slurs and was often chased home by other kids.
- Is educating herself on race + the justice system in America.

Eddie Redmayne Criticizes JK Rowling’s Anti-Trans Tweets

in a statement to Variety:

“Respect for transgender people remains a cultural imperative, and over the years I have been trying to constantly educate myself. This is an ongoing process.”

“As someone who has worked with both J.K. Rowling and members of the trans community, I wanted to make it absolutely clear where I stand. I disagree with Jo’s comments. Trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary identities are valid. I would never want to speak on behalf of the community but I do know that my dear transgender friends and colleagues are tired of this constant questioning of their identities, which all too often results in violence and abuse. They simply want to live their lives peacefully, and it’s time to let them do so.”

Anna Kendrick Compares Twilight Shoot to a Hostage Situation

Kendrick played the supporting role of Jessica Stanley, a friend of Bella's from school, in three Twilight movies.
Her issue seems to have been the conditions under which the movies were made.

"The first movie we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable. And I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, 'You know, this is a really great group of people and I'm sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone.' Although, it was also kind of bonding. There was something about it, like if you go through some trauma event. Like you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you're kind of bonded for life."

Laura Harrier on being cast for 'Spider-Man' and working with Zendaya

Laura Harrier recently discussed being cast in 2017's 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and what it meant for her:

"After I did my screen test for Spider-Man, before I had heard anything, it came out a few weeks later that Zendaya was going to be cast in it, so I just figured I hadn’t got the job. She must have.

I called my agent and they reassured me I was still in the running. I thought it was incredible and ground-breaking of Marvel to put us both in those roles and not to make it about our blackness. We were just girls who went to a school in New York and that’s what New York City looks like; films should reflect that. We had the best time making that movie. Zendaya and I are friends now and I’m really grateful for her. Swinging around on those wires was fun!"

Lizzo shares tiktok video about working out for HER ideal body type

In the video posted yesterday that went viral, Lizzo had a few words to say to people who continuously badger her about her weight.

Lizzo: "Hey, so I've been working out consistently for the last five years, and it may come as a surprise to some of y'all, but I'm not working out to have your ideal body type. I'm working out to have my ideal body type, and do you know what type that is? None of your f*cking business because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job, and I stay on my job!"

She also mentions that health is NOT determined by what you look like on the outside but how you're feeling on the inside.

Bless her for this

ONTD Original: Songs You’d Hear In A H&M Dressing Room

Retail shopping and fitting rooms, remember those? Part of the shopping experience at places like H&M, Zara and other clothing retailers is the music. You know what kind. Usually it’s any Top 40 hit (or really any song tbqh), but some songs just have that “dressing room” sound one can’t help but notice. Here are 5 songs to get the conversation going...

Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa
“One Kiss”

The OG song that inspired this original, based on a comment I read here. Sorry I can’t remember which user here referred to it as an H&M bop and coined that term when this first dropped, but your impacT!! Show yourself!

Will We Get A New Season of "Black Mirror" Before 2021? Unlikely.

black mirror 6.png

Seems like we have every possible form of entertainment available at our fingertips for quarantine... except a new season of "Black Mirror." The dystopian British show has not been renewed by Netflix for a sixth season, though it is very popular on Netflix.

No word yet from creator Charlie Booker about when the show will come back. But most speculate that it will not be until the second half of 2020 at the very earliest. It could be even later.

Noooo. I need more episodes. Leave your fav ep or ideas that Charlie Booker can use in the comments.

US Soccer repeals rule requiring players to stand during the anthem

Collapse )

- The rule requiring players to stand was implemented after Megan Rapinoe knelt in support of Colin Kaepernick in 2016.
- Before implementing the rule Rapinoe knelt multiple times during the anthem (first for her club team then the national team), she was subsequently left off multiple rosters with no real explanation as to why.
- Once US Soccer implemented Policy 604-1, Rapinoe was called back up. She didn't kneel again but also didn't sing the anthem or put her hand on her chest.
- They repealed the policy yesterday. It wasn't a unanimous decision.
- 1 player from each of the 3 national teams (Womens, Mens, Para) were on the call and at least 1 of them argued the policy should be kept.

Stop Pranking Essential Workers

"I've worked several jobs in the service industry (fast food restaurants, coffee shops, restaurants) and I've always had an immense amount of respect for the people who do these jobs. Which is why I was very upset when I saw people pranking helpless essential workers, so I made a video about it. Enjoy! - Kurtis Conner"

Some tiktok/youtube people he talks about are Sheiskings who sings her orders at the drive-through, fckjoshy who once drop a full bucket of cereal on the subway, we had a post about it and Familia Diamond who did a kidnapping prank (the wife(?) was tied up in the front seat + gagged so they didn't pretend to kidnap a worker).

ONTD Original: Narcissistic #BLM "Solidarity" Posts from Influencers

Social media influencers once again show that if Black Lives Matter was a moment rather than a movement, then the moment should be all about them!

In no particular order, some of the most blatantly self-serving/empty "solidarity" posts from "influencers" as separated by subcategories.

[Actual Fucking Blackface]-Algerian actress/singer Souhila Ben Lachhab

-Musician/artist Tania Saleh

-Turkish influencer Kaan Ozdil

[Racial Hypocrisy Called Out]-KELLY CHASE of Netflix's Love is Blind got on IG to talk about BLM and used the term "colored" as well as how ALL lives matter and was promptly called out by fellow Love is Blind co-star Carlton Morton (after blocking him on social media)

She then brought out the tears during her apology: "I used the terms coloured people and All Lives Matter and I realise how ignorant that was, how uneducated I am and I’m really, truly sorry for the pain that I caused today because I realise that there are people hurting because of what happened with George Floyd and every other black person who is scared. It was definitely coming from a place of love and that I am truly, truly sorry. I never meant to offend you, hurt you, hurt anyone from the black community. I am just very, very sorry. I am educating myself on what I can do to help."

- Photographer/Entrepreneur/Podcaster Jenna Kutcher posted an email exchange she'd had with Toi Smith when the latter had commented on one of the former's photos that came off as peak white savior/poverty porn. The thing was, Kutcher didn't post the full exchange, and she didn't check with Smith to make sure this was okay. Smith called her out, and Kutcher has been falling all over herself in the fallout, INCLUDING trying to bribe Smith. Kutcher's posts about Black Lives Matter and her apologies have been called out as a performative attempt to save face, and she couldn't even name Smith specifically in her "apology".

- Self-Tanner/Sister of Louis Tomlinson has posted a few solidarity posts on her Instagram before going back to business as usual, but as many online have pointed out, this is a woman from the Ariana Grande school of self tanning as well as someone who has used the N-word on camera and blocks people who bring it up.

Also, this post burned my eyes.

- Fashion blogger Alyssa Coscarelli was called out for harassing a Black female co-worker, prioritizing aesthetics over the apology, and making it about herself

[Look at My Family]
-A lot of influencers posted wishy washy statements or Bible verses or both that never mention police brutality or oppression much less Black people and instead emphasize peace and love and can't we all just get along to create a better world!? This post addresses the "dark season" we're currently in attached to a video of the gender reveal for their upcoming baby!

-What better way to show that you stand with the Black community than a picture of you and your child so as not to break up the aesthetic of your IG page.

-Mormon mommy blogger TERRAH BELLE who originally declared ALL LIVES MATTER and then editing her caption to whine about people putting her under a microscope for every little word she says

-In the initial IG post announcing her pregnancy, Dani Austin tagged George Floyd for better algorithim visibility

- Did you know that racism exists AND that Jesus loves all the little children of the world?

[But My Aesthetic]-Let's see: Misspells Angela Davis' name. Uses a photo of herself before the solidarity photos. Promotes her new YouTube video about her weekend in quarantine, ya know the same weekend people were getting tear gassed and beaten by the police

-Fitness/stylist/podcaster Claire Guents acknowledges her own white privilege but also makes it fit with the rest of her blog aka pictures of her white self

-Why let something like systematic racism and inequality keep you from breaking up your blindingly white furniture aesthetic?

-This fashion blogger decided to pair her solidarity statement with a boudoir photo of herself and was promptly called out. She edited the caption but didn't delete so as to preserve the comments section

[Flippant]- While maybe not an influencer like the rest of this post, cartoonist/author Lucy Knisley posted this solidarity post to her IG stories and then deleted it before the 24 hours presumably because people did not take too kindly to the flippant note at the end.

thanks to parachuteending for suggesting a performative influencer post
