Debby Ryan and Twenty One Pilot's drummer Josh Dun have been secretly married since New Year's Eve

Debby Ryan revealed in a Vogue Magazine revealed that she has been married to Josh Fun for months. The couple had initially planned on having a destination wedding sometimes this year. But the death of her co-star and friend Cameron Boyce, who was only 20 years old, really put things into perspective.

"When [Cameron] passed, it really rocked me and put a lot of things in perspective. It didn’t feel important to wait anymore, to stop being busy, or for things to line up perfectly—intending to do things is not nearly as powerful as doing, as we aren’t promised tomorrow," says Debby.

The instead got married on New Year's eve, a little over a year after they got engaged. The wedding took only 28 days to plan.

Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and Ariana Grande spotted at Black Lives Matter protests

ONTD's fave couple Shawmila, who both have had controversies for their racist tweets/conversations about Black people (with Camila using the hard n-word to talk about her ex-band mate Normani and having a whole tumblr account dedicated to the reblog of racist memes involving Black people), were showing their support for the Black Lives Matter movement at a Miami protest.

Her fans (who a few years ago attacked Normani so much that she had to desactivate her account following Camila's racist exposé) are applauding her actions and saying she's not the racist she was repeatedly exposed to be.

Celebs React to LAPD Chief Blaming Protestors For George Floyd's Death

During a press conference earlier tonight, LA Chief of Police Michel Moore blamed George Floyd's death on protestors. Specifically, he stated:

"His death is on their hands, as much as it is on those officers. And that is a strong statement." (Timestamp in the video is 15:50.)

LAPD's resident ventriloquist dummy, Mayor Eric Garcetti, was quick to Swiffer the mess a whole two to three hours later. But Twitter was not content with the "clarification", and Garcetti was instead met with hundreds of responses urging him to fire Moore as well as calling for Garcetti's own resignation:

New Books Hitting Shelves This Week

The Vanishing Half

The Vignes twin sisters will always be identical. But after growing up together in a small, southern black community and running away at age sixteen, it's not just the shape of their daily lives that is different as adults, it's everything: their families, their communities, their racial identities. Many years later, one sister lives with her black daughter in the same southern town she once tried to escape. The other secretly passes for white, and her white husband knows nothing of her past. Still, even separated by so many miles and just as many lies, the fates of the twins remain intertwined. What will happen to the next generation, when their own daughters' storylines intersect?

Weaving together multiple strands and generations of this family, from the Deep South to California, from the 1950s to the 1990s, Brit Bennett produces a story that is at once a riveting, emotional family story and a brilliant exploration of the American history of passing. Looking well beyond issues of race, The Vanishing Half considers the lasting influence of the past as it shapes a person's decisions, desires, and expectations, and explores some of the multiple reasons and realms in which people sometimes feel pulled to live as something other than their origins.

Nickelodeon Receives Complaints Over George Floyd & #BlackLivesMatter Commercials

Nickelodeon has begun going off the air and playing two commercials which are apparently angering white parents. Both are 8 minutes and 46 seconds long, the amount of time it took George Floyd to be killed by a police officer. Nickelodeon has begun trending as white parents complain about the "scary" commercials which are frightening their children, and other parents thank the network for their frankness.

ONTD Original: It's pride month! 10 LGBTQI+ TV characters we're glad we had during the last year.

10. Gay Thor, i mean... PC George Kiss
TV Show: Hollyoaks
image hostimage host

It's always nice to see refreshing new faces in LGBTQI+ friendly Hollyoaks, but the arrival of PC George caused quite a few gasps, cause, the face + voice combo makes him look like the lost Hemsworth brother. Also, John Paul is back! Watch a clip:

[🏳️‍🌈 QUEER CONTENT OVER HERE - J.K. Rowling not invited 🏳️‍🌈]

9. Simone
TV Show: Dispatches from Elsewhere
image host

It's hard to outshine Sally Field, yet trans actress Eve Lindley stole the show during the first season of Dispatches from Elsewhere, and we kinda rooted for her and Jason Segel's character. SHE MADE JASON SEGEL LIKEABLE. THAT'S HOW GOOD SHE IS!!! Hopefully we'll get to see a lot more of her.

8. J.J.
TV Show: Council of Dads

Blue Chapman is a 7 year old trans actor, and he plays JJ, a 7 year old kid, part of the family. If you haven't seen this show. You must! The pilot has a great scene in which a Karen tries to put a dress on him and his mom sets her straight. Also, J. August Richards came out for this show, in which he plays a lovely dad.

7. Every LGBTQI+ character in the 9-1-1 franchise
TV Show: 9-1-1 / 9-1-1: Lonestar
image host

The 9-1-1 franchise has snatched procedurals' wig becoming a very charming, funny and engaging show. Also, it's incredible diverse, more than most procedurals out there, so... I guess 'Thanks Ryan Murphy'? (ugh).

6. Dreamer
TV Show: Supergirl
image host

Nia Nal (Dreamer) is the first transgender superhero but she totally kicked ass this season, especially during the episode in which she stood up to a growing epidemic of violence against the transgender community and her pursuit of a transphobic catfish.

5. Kate Kane a.k.a. Batwoman
TV Show: Batwoman
image host
Sure, Ruby Rose is out and she couldn't act but you gotta give props to The CW and the Arrowverse for putting out there a show with an out superhero lesbian female lead (Sorry Xena, i said Out!). And apparently is getting better (i hear). Here's hoping the new Kate Kane is a good one!

4. Every character in Pose
TV Show: Pose
image host
I mean... they 👏 deliver 👏 every 👏 single 👏 episode.👏 And are not fucking afraid to deal with every heavy issue affecting the community. And if you haven't seen this clip yet, you should:

3. Jules
TV Show: Euphoria
image host
A super talented trans actress playing a super complex role and falling in love with her lesbian(?) friend who relapses into her addictions. Euphoria is actually quite heavy, but so good. And Hunter Schafer was AH-MAH-ZING in it. Can't wait for season 2.

2. David & Patrick
TV Show: Schitt's Creek
image host
Schitt's Creek was the feel-good show of the last few years but also an incredibly sweet gay love story and a beautiful surprise to see a couple so affectionate with each other. The series finale wedding was the perfect final present.

1. Annalise Keating
TV Show: How To Get Away With Murder

After MAAAAANY years of delivering one of the most complex and beautiful characters on TV, Annalise Keating said goodbye in what could easily be one of the best performances of the year. Also, quite poignant during these days. Please take a minute to watch this and appreciate our bisexual queen:

“What I am is a survivor. I survived getting taunted by the N-word when I was in grade school. I survived the sexual abuse by my uncle when I was eleven. I survived losing my first love Eve, because I was scared to be gay. Then the death of my son in a car accident, the murder of my husband, then alcoholism, depression, grief, and every death leading up to this trial. But today, you decide. Am I a bad person? Well the mask is off, so I’m gonna say yes. But am I the criminal mastermind who pulled off a series of violent murders? Hell no. Who I am is a 53 year old woman from Memphis, Tennessee, named Anna Mae Harkness. I'm ambicious... black...bisexual...angry...sad...strong...sensitive...scared...fierce...talented...exhausted...and i am at your mercy.”

I'm just happy she had her happy ending:

Mauricio Martínez, Mexican Broadway actor, exposed for overall problematic tweets

Mauricio became famous by getting the 5th place in musical reality show “operación triunfo” a few years ago, he has since gone on to work in American theatre productions, however, he’s well known for being right-leaning and since he mostly tweets in Spanish, his shenanigans have gone under the radar.

Under the thread subject of this post, several screenshots have been condensed, in them he’s seen calling a Mexican congresswoman to go on a diet and calling her a cenadora (wordplay of senadora [female senator] and someone who is having dinner and eating, from the verb “cenar”), his liberal use of the word “naco”, a term usually aimed at indigenous groups or uneducated/poor/dark skin people, saying he has been a recipient of racism due to being blond with green eyes, telling a dark skinned politics commentator that the TV make up he’s wearing makes him look like a lesbian (?), and finally stating anyone that criticizes him is resentful.

More information is popping up, with the latest being an audio of Mauricio saying Tenoch Huerta (a moreno actor) can’t criticize him or the racism in the country, since Tenoch probably lives in la condesa (a hip, upscale neighborhood in Mexico City) when he should be living in Iztapalapa (a very poor area of the same city).

Gay Porn Star Billy Santoro comes out as a huge racist

Australian gay porn star Billy Santoro has come out as a huge racist in lights of the protests over the past several days. He took to Facebook to tell America that it needs to shoot its black people because they use looting as a form of protest. He also took to Twitter to say the blacks will only breed more hatred.

Others pointed out earlier instances of Billy claiming black trans women were being killed by their own community, that only black men called him homophobic names, blamed parents for their kids getting kidnapped, and said men should have equal rights when it comes to abortion.

The backlash was swift, and as a result, he was banned from Just for Fans and OnlyFans. Billy apologized, but claimed he doesn't have a Facebook, which was a lie as he then immediately stated he lashed out because he was upset a friend of his was killed in Philly during looting (OP couldn't find any info to back that up that claim).

Billy's husband took to Twitter to tell everyone that Billy tried committing suicide last night, but many were quick to point out photos shared didn't add up:

Griffin Matthews of 'Dear White People' Condemns Racism on Broadway, Starts #BroadwayIsRacist

On June 1, Griffin Matthews posted a video describing the racism he encountered while working on his musical Witness Uganda (previously titled Invisible Thread). The show is based on the true story of his humanitarian trips to Uganda and his work to fund his nonprofit organization, UgandaProject.

[Summary under the cut]In the video he talks about:
  • Being forced out of his role as lead writer and actor after producers had purchased the rights to his work

  • Being told by a director that a Black actress was not the right shade to be in Witness Uganda

  • Second Stage bringing the cast to perform and talk up the theater's "risky endeavors" in exchange for a donation that never came

  • White reviewers criticizing their 20-something actors for looking too old while giving Dear Evan Hansen (starring Ben Platt as a high schooler) a pass; calling a character "Big Mama" when her name was "Rain Lady; singling Griffin out for ad hominems while the all-white producing staff and director were spared, and did nothing to defend him

  • Being told by a producer re: a line about being the son of slaves: "Slavery is over. Nobody wants to hear about that." No one in the creative team meeting pushed back.

  • How the industry is teeming with racists pretending to be allies

  • How white creatives with power claim to love and support Black artists, even buying their work, but do not understand the work or know how to advocate for it: "Her Black experience is strictly about money and profits. She has no real Black friends and has never needed to have them, because that's not part of the equation of rising to the pinnacle of success on Broadway. Think about that. White people literally need not one Black person to become a Broadway sensation, to become a millionaire, to become a Tony winner, to become Broadway history — not one Black person is needed to achieve that. And that is why Broadway is racist."

  • Says "If the word 'racist' stings you, it should, because racist behavior has been stinging artists of color since the very beginning. Racism has been stealing our dreams, choking our stories, looting our talent, destroying our bank accounts, and then discarding us when we are no longer valued. And here is the deepest revelation from me: I may never make it to Broadway for simply speaking out against the horrific treatment that I received, and all of the Amy Coopers will be fine."

  • Says "Black artists have been keeping a secret from you: We have been performing on stage and off. And we're tired. We are done. I am done. The Great White Way needs a real Black friend immediately."

Today, Griffin posted a letter on Facebook (below) and Instagram calling out Broadway and arts publications for ignoring his statement and the widespread support it received from other Black creatives on and off Broadway.

[Postscript on The Book of Mormon]I should acknowledge that I'm posting this with a username inspired by The Book of Mormon, which Griffin specifically calls out as racist (and at least one cast member from the show has agreed). The show's anti-religion/anti-missionary message did resonate with me, but at the expense of its racist portrayal of Uganda, and I'm sorry for that.

I encourage anyone else who's supported The Book of Mormon through ticket sales in the past and/or who feels strongly about missionaries to donate to No White Saviors, a Ugandan organization that works to address the real and ongoing harm white missionaries do there instead of using it as a ~woke punchline.

- Nicole points out, "And nice cops? There are no nice cops because if a cop was nice they wouldn’t watch and participate in violence against black and brown people."
- She ends by encouraging white parents to teach their kids black history that isn't covered in school - like Juneteenth, Black Wall Street, how Black people have influenced most pop culture, etc.

MCR's Ray Toro and Frank Iero Show Support for Black Lives Matter Movement

Ray Toro broke his frequent Twitter silence yesterday to tweet some BLM support

  • He expresses sympathies for Floyd's family

  • "What the world watched was not just murder, it was lynching"

  • Says polices officers need to be punished to fullest extent of the law

  • "As a parent I can't imagine the pain" (....he's not wrong?)

  • Says to people making false equivalences, that protests and looting are not the same and people are taking advantage of the situation. But also that criticizing protestors for violent outbursts is not it -- that police using excessive force with protestors should also be acknowledged.

  • No word on whether or not any donations have been made

Alternatively, Frank Iero, after posting a tweet of BLM hashtags on May 31st, tweeted the Black Lives Matter carrd about eight hours ago

OP: A fan, who would know better than me tbh, claims that because Frank is on a FBI watchlist so he can't say much which. I have no idea, stans are doing a lot today. Also, I know I saw one of the brothers posted a black box but uh.

That Other Member of Nirvana Praises Trump's Law and Order Speech: "Knocked it out of the park"

The bassist/third member of Nirvana praised Trump for the speech he delivered after having a crowd of peaceful protesters tear gassed so he could get a good photo-op (which is impossible because there are and never will be good photos of him).

Novoselic posted the following to his Facebook: "Wow!!! I know many of you can’t stand him, however, Trump knocked it out of the park with this speech. I drove from Wahkiakum to Seattle and back today and have seen countless fellow Washintonians on the road. I did not see any violence -- but a Tesla supercharging station at an Auburn mall was closed off by police. Driving, I passed by regular folks who are already stressed by the Covid situation. Now, social media and television are looping images of societal breakdown. I agree, the president should not be sending troops into states -- and he legally might not be able to anyway -- nevertheless, his tone in this speech is strong and direct. I have been watching the images in the media and thinking about how polarized our country is. I mean, even wearing medical masks in public can be seen as a political statement! The violence, (and not the protests) appear as a leftist insurrection. Imagine if so-called 'patriot militias' were raising this kind of hell? If this were the case, left wing people would welcome federal intervention. Most Americans want peace in their communities and President Trump spoke to this desire. Never mind the legal details that few understand -- Trump said he would stop the violence and this speaks to many."

As people commented on his post, he assured them he was “not a parody account — and certainly not a partisan echo chamber. I prefer to think for myself thank you.”

He revealed that he voted for Gary Johnson in the 2016 election.

His Facebook is now currently private, and he deleted his Twitter account.
