Marvel Introduces Non-Binary Hero Snowflake and Twin Safespace

Twins Snowflake and Safespace are two of the newest members of the New Warriors.

"Safespace is a big, burly, sort of stereotypical jock. He can create forcefields, but he can only trigger them if he's protecting somebody else. Snowflake is non-binary and goes by they/them, and has the power to generate individual crystalized snowflake-shaped shurikens."

Regarding their names, writer Daniel Kibblesmith said “it's this idea that these are terms that get thrown around on the internet that they don't see as derogatory. [They] take those words and kind of wear them as badges of honor.”

Jonah Hill gave GQ list of 20 movies he thinks people should see while practicing social distancing.

He also told GQ that one of them was by the same director that got the “best acting” out of him. Not many people saw the film because it was a limited release.

The film was He Won’t Get Far On Foot by Gus Van Sant.

“Gus Van Sant is one of my mentors, one of my favorite people on the planet, and pioneer of queer cinema,” Hill said.

“He made a film with myself and Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara two years ago called He Won’t Get Far on Foot and nobody saw it ‘cause Amazon completely fucked it up. But it’s the best acting I have done and will ever do.”

Fox’s ‘The Resident’ Medical Drama Donates Items To Atlanta Hospital After Production Halted

Production was halted on Season 3 of The Resident, so they donated their protective equipment to a hospital in Atlanta - the series also films Atlanta.

News of the donation was shared by a rheumatologist at the hospital, she wrote “To the entire team @theresidentonfox, thank you for this incredibly generous donation of #PPE from your set, including gowns, masks, gloves, and all the things our healthcare workers need to provide safe care for our community during #COVID19, Yesterday, I had a serious discussion with the residents about how, though supplies are low, a magical shipment of masks is unlikely to arrive,” Grady wrote. “And yet, a magical shipment of masks DID arrive, in the form of this very generous gesture. This kind of community support means so much to our #frontlineproviders who are making many sacrifices to staff our hospitals and care for our community.”

The 2019 story tells "the true story of a group of students at Sarah Lawrence University who fell under the sway of Larry Ray, an ex-con and their classmate's father, beginning in 2010. In February, Ray was indicted by federal prosecutors on charges of sex trafficking, extortion, conspiracy, forced labor, and more."

No actors or writers are currently attached, despite initial reports that Mark Wahlberg was circling the project to produce and star in (as Ray) himself.

AMPAS Evaluating “What Changes May Need To Be Made” in the Times of Coronavirus.

Who watches the Awards-Bait?

Because qualifiying pictures must play in theaters for Oscar contention, and most of them are closed...what will the Academy do?

What needs to be done:

The Academy is focused on helping our staff, our members, and the industry safely navigate through this global health and economic crisis.  We are in the process of evaluating all aspects of this uncertain landscape and what changes may need to be made.  We are committed to being nimble and forward-thinking as we discuss what is best for the future of the industry and will make further announcements." Says an Academy statement to Deadline.

I have never seen the Academy be 'nimble' or 'forward-thinking' until last month, so this will stretch them to their limits. Some smaller pictures are going to VOD, which would render them ineligible under the current rules.

The Emmys expect no interruptions, and are slated to air in September.

So, so far, nothing. What changes do you think need to be made in the Times of Corona-V?

GameStop: We're an Essential Business

Welcome to "Retail is Poison" Part 99340930.

Today we feature the video game retailer GameStop, which has declared itself an essential business in order to stay open while a viral pandemic sweeps the country.

In a memo to all stores, executives stated: "Due to the products we carry that enable and enhance our customers’ experience in working from home, we believe GameStop is classified as essential retail and therefore is able to remain open during this time." The memo goes even further to state employees should show the memo to police officers who attempt to enforce stores closing and that officers can call corporate if they have a problem with it.

Meanwhile, employees feel that the company isn't doing a thing to prevent them and customers from getting sick, with some telling Kotaku that they don't have nearly enough (or any!) cleaning supplies and what they have to buy is out of their own pockets. Other say that they fear for their jobs since the company is still requiring those who call out to have a doctor's note. Employees state that if you do come to their stores please be mindful of what you're getting into and don't stay long or touch much of anything.

Due to the backlash, GameStop has announced new policies such as reduced store hours and only allowing 10 people in stores at a time.

Celebs React: California goes on lockdown + GOP Senators made money from COVID-19

California Governor Gavin Newsom has issued a Stay At Home order, asking residents to stay home except for trips to grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, and other essential needs.

Meanwhile, republican senators Richard Burr, Jim Inhofe, Ron Johnson, and Kelly Loeffler started selling stocks back in January after private Senate briefings from the White House about COVID-19, while reassuring the public everything would be fine. Burr and Loeffler made an estimated seven figures each. The STOCK Act, passed in 2012 under President Obama, prohibits lawmakers from doing this. Shockingly Burr voted against it.
