Justin Timberlake accused of cultural appropriation and ‘speaking over’ SZA during Ellen interview

Miss Mayo, ain't you tired? Apparently not! When not cheating on his Anti- Vaxer wife, Mayo of the Woods is promoting the only film willing to cast him appropriately titled Trolls. While promoting his flop song with Sza on the Ellen show. Dory asked Sza about her sizzling Rollingstone cover. Instinctively a coked out Mayo spoke over Sza and answered the question for her. “Oh, sis!” Mayo interrupted and his annoying ass continued with “What are you doing to them, sis?”.

Viewers were quick to ask "Is there any reason he’s trying to use "AAVE [African American Vernacular English] and acting like a fool? Does he know when to stop culturally appropriating or does it just come natural to him now?!”, one person tweeted.

The Mr. Burns look a like continued to interject while SZA answered the question, ultimately adding: “Sometimes y’all got to let ‘em know, ‘I’ve been workin’ out’.”

Culture Vultutre Mayo has been struggling with his identity since the beginning of his solo career displaying a blaccent and then quick to switch to his Southern Roots.

Reps for WME and Statham declined to comment.

'The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez' producer slams accusation of "sensationalist" reporting

Released via Netflix on February 26, The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez—about the incomprehensible torture and murder of an eight-year-old boy by his mother and stepfather and the system that failed him—has received mostly critical acclaim and become the streaming platform's most popular original series. But the praise has not been unanimous.

In a piece for the Los Angeles Times published Tuesday, critic Robert Lloyd called the six-episode series "sensationalistic horror" about a story that is "old news." Comparing it to other Netflix true crime docuseries like The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann and Ted Bundy: Conversations With a Killer, Lloyd asserts that "everything you need to know about Gabriel Fernandez's case could be communicated... in a fraction of the time," but isn't for "commercial and, to some extent, aesthetic" reasons.

Now, producer Garrett Therolf (the reporter who covered Fernandez's case extensively for The Times, featured prominently in the series) has responded to Lloyd in a lengthy, heated series of tweets.

Collapse )

Lloyd has yet to respond to Therolf's comments.

Meanwhile, the series' director says that a second season is not out of the question.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Knappenberger said that there was still much more to the case to explore—including the psychology of Fernandez's murderers, mother Pearl and stepfather Isauro Agguire.

"I still want to hear from them," he said. "Like, who are these people? How did this happen? Why did this boy's life get taken like this? There are still so many unanswered questions. So if they wanted to talk to me, I would absolutely talk to them on the record."

Live Nation halts all tours & Broadway shows are suspended due to the coronavirus

Live Nation has temporarily halted all tours through at least the end of March due to the coronavirus. Some select shows will play over the next few days, but most shows will be postponed. Live Nation will re-evaluate the situation at the beginning of April with the goal of resuming touring in May or June.

The Broadway League has suspended all performances until April 12 (including Six, which was scheduled to open tonight). New York governor Andrew Cuomo has banned gatherings larger than 500 people.

Last week San Francisco mayor London Breed banned any gatherings of 50 or more people in city run buildings which forced the San Francisco Ballet and the San Francisco Symphony to cancel performances. This week she extended the ban to any gatherings with over 1000 people which meant the sit down production of Hamilton had to temporarily close. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child initially tried to get around the ban by saying they were going to reduce seating in the 1667 seat theater to exactly 1000 people. California governor Gavin Newsom announced a statewide ban on any gatherings with more than 250 people so the theater had to relent and temporarily close the show.

Broadway Suspends Operations In Response To COVID-19 Outbreak

The Broadway League previously said that shows would go on as normal, despite a front-of-house staff member at a theater testing positive for COVID-19. They promised greater care given to sanitizing theaters and even offered $50 tickets to many popular shows to entice audiences to keep attending. However, closures were no longer at their discretion after an order from NY Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The closure will go into effect tonight at 5 p.m. and shows are set to resume on April 13.

The industry could lose well over $100 million, and some shows may not re-open after the hiatus. The accommodation, hospitality, and food industries will be affected by the resulting drop in tourism — Broadway brought 14.62 million people to the Times Square area in 2019.

Before the announcement, Moulin Rouge! The Musical had canceled today’s performances due to what’s rumored to be a cast member’s potential exposure.

This is the first time Broadway theaters will go dark for a prolonged period since the stagehand strike of 2007, when theaters were shuttered for 19 days.

Amber Heard slams ‘abuse’ claims from former assistant amid Johnny Depp legal battle

Kate James, Amber Heard's assistant of three years, alleged in court documents that the actress was verbally and mentally abusive.

‘Amber was regularly verbally and mentally abusive and would often scream at me in that way, over the smallest things. She would fly into blind rages where no one could reason with her, and even if I was trying to offer an explanation, I didn’t think that she could hear me as she was so angry. It was like she thought regular things that can go wrong in any person’s life on any given day didn’t apply to her.'

She said she saw no signs of physical altercations on either side between Heard or Depp but wrote ”Amber hated me talking to Johnny, even if it was just polite small-talk, she would give me the evil eye if she found me having a conversation with him. She was very controlling and paranoid about anyone else being in his space and also about being observed by his security.”

A rep for Amber stated that '‘This is a statement from a disgruntled former employee who was fired for poor performance and clearly has an agenda and an axe to grind."

Donald Pandumbic slurred and stumbled through a botched public address where he couldn’t even read the teleprompter correctly and still didn’t address critical needs like test kits and healthcare support. Whoopi reminds that her business partner returned from Italy and nobody even checked him. In public address last night, you could hear T45 breathing through his mic. Totally not normal. Sniffy McSnifferson. Meghan says T45 inspires anger really well. The I feel your pain is something he’s incapable of. He has no ability to emote. Quinnipiac poll shows Biden seen as stronger leader during time of crisis. Sunny says the travel ban, even though it was wrongly stated, does nothing to comfort her. Then they had to correct his mistakes for 2 hours after the public address. Way too much xenophobia. He didn’t talk to Europe at all, to prepare them or organize how to manage it. So fact checkers earned their pay again. No ban on cargo, even though he said it would be banned. Joy says he should resign and let Pence deal with this. You get the test free, no co-payment, but no free treatment or relief for treatment. But nothing about test kits.

Meghan thinks Gov Cuomo is doing an amazing job, looking after citizens and prisons. When you traffic in lies and misinformation, the chickens are coming home to roost. Omg she calls out EH from yesterday and her cult koolaid, looool. This could be the silver bullet that [metaphorically] takes out the administration. This is T45 “Katrina”. Sunny says Lamar Alexander blocked a bill for employers to provide paid sick leave. Dow Jones note, we’ve lost all stock market gains since T45 took office. 3 years of economic growth that started when Obama took office (re/2009 financial crisis).

Pouty McFussypants called for unity then attacked Pelosi and tweeted about impeachment today. Meghan is having a rant at his inability to human like a human. Prayer circle y’all. Tom Hanks being an international public figure puts a face on it. His weird son Chet and his weird tattoos said his parents are doing fine. [Son Colin also tweeted a statement]. Some guy landed in Palm Beach and has been diagnosed. How did he know, where was he tested? People aren’t being tested at all. People coming home from foreign countries are breezing through. The wheels are off the bus. Joy likes Dr Fauci who seems to have a clue. Sunny says the mortality rate is 10x higher than the flu [? I don’t know if that is correct]. Meghan has a rant again about the bumbleheads in the WH and their bumblehead family. If you come back from another country, you have to fend for yourself and take action on your own. Sunny says a case in Mass. where everyone at the meeting got the coronavirus, meaning it’s airborne. Stephan Marbury traveled to China, the moment he disembarked, they took him to be tested. Whoopi tells the Palm Beach story again.

Disney CEO Shuts Down Anti-LGBT+ Critic

At Disney’s 2020 annual shareholder meeting (almost 31 minutes in), notorious anti-gay activist Caroline Farrow complained to new CEO Bob Chapek about “the way you currently promote LGBT ideology in many of your products for children,” saying that families didn’t feel safe and it was why Disney’s stocks were down.

Chapek responded, “At Disney we strongly believe we should reflect in our creative content the diversity that we find in our fanbase and our audience. And I believe that will continue with an increased commitment as we move forward. We want to represent our audience. We believe we want to tell stories that our audience wants to hear that reflects their lives.”

Chapek also suggested that Disney’s stocks going down “might have more to do with coronavirus and the worldwide pandemic that we’re facing.”
