Rosario Dawson Endorses Bernie Sanders

A day after her boyfriend, Senator Cory Booker voiced support for Joe Biden, Rosario Dawson wrote a post on Instagram explaining her endorsement of Bernie Sanders.

Since I’m on mobile and don’t know how to embed IG posts through my phone, I cp’d the body of her post here (you can also click on the link in the tweet above to see the post yourself):

Not Me Us
I got to vote for Bernie again and I did. Whoever it is that you’re supporting I hope that you are doing it consciously, with heart and with a ballot. Talking about things helps but actions speak louder than words. To all of you on the sidelines, we need you. Please register and vote. Make this election one for the history books. Turn out needs to be historic to drive home the message that we stand for something bigger and better than what we have now. That we truly stand for each other. Earthizen Humanity First! Please-No more bullying. No more mocking. No more trolling. We can be better than that so why not be? Let our decency, honesty and humanity ring loud and true. It’s much more constructive, believe me. March to the polls and let’s make sure folks are registered and able to vote by any means necessary.
PS: Upset about our primary/electoral system? Elections and much else (equity much?) aren’t fair. Voter suppression efforts like redistricting, gerrymandering and voter purging (among many other issues) have long since made that clear. That’s why voting is only one of many ways we can transform our system for the better (fill out your census!). So please stay in the game, no matter what, and continue the fight our ancestors fought with fewer means and resources, not just so that we could bicker on social media, but so that we could continue to improve conditions for each other and make the path that much better, healthier and clearer for the generations to come. Blessings to you all. #NotMeUs

Soap opera star Roscoe Born dead at 69; family calls for more conversations around mental health

Roscoe Born died last week, and his death was ruled a suicide. He had struggled with bipolar disorder.

His family released this statement:
“We are grateful for the outpouring of kind words and memories. We only wish that Roscoe could have seen how much people still carry his daytime villains in their hearts. May his death remind us of the importance of opening up conversations around mental illness. May those who need help seek it. May those who seek help receive it. And may it serve them.”

He had starred in Ryan's Hope, Santa Barbara, All My Children, The City, Passions, The Young and The Restless, and One Life to Live.

US Soccer argues they can pay the women's team less because the mens team gets booed at home games

I didn't make that headline up.

- US Soccer is currently being sued by the USWNT for gender discrimination because they get paid less than the mens team.
- They said, and I quote, "the hostility of fans at home crowds for the MNT in some friendlies can be unlike anything the WNT face"; they're referencing the mens team vs. Mexico game last year in which there was like 3 USA fans in Chicago.
- US Soccer then went on to argue that women are inferior when it comes to skill, speed, and responsibility.

ONTD, has your boss ever argued that you deserve to be paid more than women because you suck at your job?

Ben Affleck Was On Harvey Weinstein's Red Flag List

Ben Affleck was placed on a "red flag list" by Harvey Weinstein per recently unsealed court documents.

Variety reviewed the 1,000 pages of documents that were released on Tuesday. There are about 70 names on the list. During the trial, only accuser Annabella Sciorra was revealed to the jury.

Other names on the list include: accusers Rose McGowan, Zelda Perkins, Lysette Anthony and Rowena Chiu.

The list also included former Weinstein Company executive Irwin Reiter and his former assistant Leslye Headland, who is the creator of Russian Doll. Producers Megan Ellison, Donna Gigliotti, Jason Blum, and Jennifer Todd were on the list as well.
