Stephen King Condemns Hachette's Decision to Drop Woody Allen Memoir

Another day, another shitty opinion from Stephen King. Now he's mad at publisher Hachette for NOT publishing alleged pedophile Woody Allen's memoir (after their own employees risked their jobs to let them know they suck) and worried about the slippery slope of censorship (that's not what censorship mea... oh forget it) and who could be "muzzled" next (hopefully other alleged pedophiles). Because 'in Amurricahhh..." blah blah blah

Just to bring some facts, Allen's memoir had already been rejected by several publishers before being picked up by Hachette (is that muzzling him too, King?), and they are giving him back the rights to the text, which means that he can still take his trash to be published anywhere else that will have him (or self-publish, even, just as it happened with that Milo guy). Maybe King can contribute to Allen's cause with a donation if he cares so much.

Post Malone's Stage Behaviour Sparks Concern

Fans of Post Malone (24) have recently expressed concern for the rapper after videos of him stumbling and exhibiting weird behaviour emerged on social media.

Though it's possible that this could just be part of the performance as the song is about falling apart (I Fall Apart), some fans believe the rapper's behaviour could be related to drugs and/or alcohol addiction.

Riley Keough reveals which A24 films she auditioned for and didn't book

  • On Instagram stories Keough revealed that she auditioned for roles in The Spectacular Now, High Life and Spring Breakers and didn't land those roles.

  • She also attended a table read (where actors read out the script in front of director and producers) for Uncut Gems and then failed to even get an audition for that role

  • Didn't say what roles she auditioned for but given her age and looks I assume she auditioned for the role Shailene Woodley got in The Spectacular Now, the role Mia Goth got in High Life, any of the main girls in Spring Breakers and the role Julia Fox played in Uncut Gems.

  • The story has a happy ending! Keough was finally able to work with A24 on American Honey (Andrea Arnold's film about a teenager who runs away from her family and sells magazine subscriptions) and Zola, the upcoming film based on the Twitter thread about a woman going to Florida to strip who then got caught up in trafficking and sex work

Here Come the Excuses Y’all: Justin Bieber downgrades stadium tour dates due to Coronavirus fears

A follow up to yesterday’s post.

Here comes that PR spin via Team Bieber and Scooter Braun. The source claims that the Coronavirus is the reason for slow ticket sales and that it ultimately hurt Bieber’s tour and thus; he was forced to downgrade from stadiums to arenas.

If you say so.

Characters in the Star Wars Universe Who Could Definitely Use a Novel or 2

So, upon my 5385735375 reread of Leia: Princess of Alderaan, it struck me that there are quite a few Star Wars characters who I would love to read about. Not watch a movie, or a show, but read about. With luck, The High Republic project will be interesting and engaging without focusing on the damn Skywalkers. So let's get started.

Breha Organa was the last Queen of Alderaan, we could learn more about the history of the planet, the rituals around the Day of Demand (in which Breha lost many of her vital organs in her Challenge of the Body), how she met would be great!

You can read more about her than in possibly any book in "Princess of Alderaan", snippets in "Queen's Shadow", and a short story from her POV in "From A Certain Point of View". It's the POV right before she and her planet blows up, so maybe not the best introduction.

There's Tel Angor, a former Jedi who, because of experiments by one group (The Silver Jedi), turned instead into a being corrupted by the Dark Side, and turned, essentially, into a Force Vampire. The Silver Jedi are news to me, so we can learn about them too! Yay?

There is one more character whose name just TOTALLY escapes me. Her master was killed, so she lived alone in either a spaceship or a jungle planet as a Padawan for years. It's not Asajj, it's a human girl, in the comics. She also could totally use a book.

Update: Yeah I was actually more correct than I had thought - Maris Brood was both raised in isolation on a spaceship and lived on a Jungle Planet with Shaak Ti (Who could also use a book!) later before turning to the dark side.

Look forward to the prequel to "Queen's Shadow", "Queen's Peril", about Padme first becoming Queen of Naboo, to be released in early May.
