Work in Progress 1x06

Don't know if anyone is watching this, but I have to promote my meal ticket.

Abby watches the wedding ceremony between her dad Edward (Bruce Jarchow) and his new wife Carol Lynn (Penelope Walker), and has some interesting thoughts.

If you aren't familiar, the show is about a suicidal queer woman who's trying to get through life.

The biggest movie surprises from the 2020 Golden Globes

The awards season is in full force, starting with the Golden Globes - which of course came with some surprises. Here are a few brow-raising snubs, wins, and just general WTFness that's not related to Ansel Elgort.

-- The Irishman coming out of the awards utterly empty-handed. Then again we're back to the awards-hate-Netflix argument.
-- Ditto with Marriage Story, which only won Supporting Actress for Laura Dern, and nothing else (yes blame Netflix I guess) - a surprise since it definitely looked strong in Adam Driver's favor.
-- 1917 taking the big prizes (drama BP and director), and now kind of putting it in the front of the awards race.
-- The movie Missing Link, which almost no one has heard of, beat out three Disney blockbusters as Best Animated Feature.
-- While Jojo Rabbit wasn't really expected to win much, it was a bit of a surprise it came out empty-handed as well.

Let's see what the BAFTAs have in store when nominations are out Tuesday morning, and of course the Oscar nods a week from now.

Mónica Naranjo: “I’m a real catch, but I can’t score at all”

Translated from Spanish

Spaniard pop icon, Mónica Naranjo, says that after the separation from her long-time partner, she’s been single for a long while. She considers herself a self sufficient, independent woman and knows she’s a catch for anyone, but somehow she’s unable to hook up or get in a relationship with somebody.

Despite the sexualized image that her pop star persona projects, when she sees someone who catches her eye, she just stays there paralyzed and does nothing.

She identifies as monogamous and thinks human sexuality really is to learn to listen to yourself and proceed accordingly, she wasn’t taught at home to love a man but to simply love.

Introspective question: are you a catch, ONTD?

Bill Hader and Rachel Bilson made their debut as a couple at the Golden Globes

• Bill Hader (41) and Rachel Bilson (38) were first linked back in early November when a fan spotted them on a date in LA. They were next seen on a coffee run in Bill's hometown over the Christmas holiday (ontd post here).

• The pairing had Twitter users buzzing with plenty of millennial culture writers being surprised yet delighted that Stefon is dating Summer Roberts.

• Sources at the show say the pair were seen chatting with Brad Pitt and Paul Rudd and held hands all night.

Judge Judy Talks Bloomberg Endorsement

Summary of conversation [Spoiler (click to open)]
[Her speaking pattern or tic was annoying. Idk if it’s always like that?]

Click here for related post by sweet_heloise

[Part of her intro was cut from the first clip. Says America is the greatest family on the planet, you need to have the greatest President. Explains in details her reasons for endorsing Bloomberg.]

Plays campaign commercial clip. Joy quotes $150M already spent on ads. Wonders if he’s really trying to buy his way into the election. Steyer also has money but no governing experience. Biden has experience governing. JJ says (analogy) being President of his own company is better than VP (2nd in command) of anything. Says he’s the only one with experience both governing and managing.

Plays JJ clip. Talks gun control issue. JJ says she’s a supporter but not a surrogate. Talks her own position on guns, she and Jerry (husband) used to have a carry license. Elaborates on this that and the other. Doesn’t support automatic assault weapons. Sunny says, so access with limitations. JJ says Bloomberg is for gun control but has no interest in repealing 2A. Sunny brings up stop n frisk policing while Mayor, he recently apologized, was he really sorry? JJ talks court case details that was impetus of policy. Thinks people got to him, and got him to look at it from a different perspective. Thinks he was genuine.
