Taylor Swift Announces GMA Concert in Central Park + Sends out ME! 7" Singles with Wrong Song

Taylor Swift had her indentured Swifites in a tizzy on Tuesday night when she uploaded a video announcing she would be making and announcement on Wednesday's edition of GMA! Speculation began immediately; what could she be announcing? A new single destined to peak at #2? That her deluxe albums would include copies of her medical records? The names of the Swifties whose social insurance numbers were stolen from her friends at Capital One?

All wrong! She's performing a concert in Central Park the day before her new album Lover™ is released! The announcement lasted less than a 10 seconds and was shot on the front facing camera of her iPhone.

Ashley Wagner, Olympic and World medalist skater, reveals past abuse

Ashley Wagner, the most successful US lady of the last three Olympic cycles (three-time national champion, World silver medalist, Four Continents champion, Olympic team event bronze medalist), has added her voice to an ongoing story about the predations of deceased US pairs skater John Coughlin.

Coughlin committed suicide in January of 2019 following reports that he was being investigated by SafeSport for inappropriate behaviour. Subsequently, one of Coughlin's past partners, Bridget Namiotka, revealed that she had been abused by Coughlin, and she indicated there were other victims.

Wagner was not among the three who initially reported Coughlin, but says she began discussing the matter with the USFSA earlier in the year, in particular out of concern for young athletes like current US national champion Alysa Liu. Wagner was assaulted by Coughlin at a USFSA training camp in 2008, shortly after she turned 17.

Harry Styles leads the Gucci Memoire d'une Odeur campaign

Harry gave a short interview, talking about the scent itself and the experience behind shooting the ad.

Says he likes a fragrance with some emotion behind it, and does actually wear the Gucci perfume all the time (well then). "It’s really fresh to me. Floral, clean, not heavy. It smells like what I imagine Joan Didion’s house to smell like.". He loves the clothes so it helps a lot when he's experimenting with different styles (he recently started incorporating flares into his wardrobe - we can see) and says it's great to have creative open minded people around him that allow him to be himself and have fun in general.

Julianne Hough Says Telling Husband She’s ‘Not Straight’ Brought Them Closer

Julianne Hough revealed some interesting information in the September issue of Women’s Health about how her life changed after getting married and gaining more intimacy with her now husband.

“I was connecting to the woman inside that doesn’t need anything, versus the little girl that looked to him to protect me,” Hough said. “I was like, ‘Is he going to love this version of me?’”

“The more I dropped into my most authentic self, the more attracted he was to me,” she explained.
She says a key step in her journey in her marriage with Brooks Laich was being honest about her sexuality with her husband.

“I [told him], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you,’” she recalled.

She admitted to needing to work through some experiences from her childhood before coming to terms with her sexuality.

“I think there’s a safety with my husband now that I’m unpacking all of this, and there’s no fear of voicing things that I’ve been afraid to admit or that I’ve had shame or guilt about because of what I’ve been told or how I was raised,” she explained.

Collapse )

-Google hosted a "private" summit to discuss climate and environmental change in Palermo, Italy last weekend.

-Naturally, the tech giant hosted some of the wealthiest and most influential people on the planet to attend, including Prince Harry, Former US Pres. Barack Obama, Katy Perry, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Harry Styles.

-Also naturally, nearly all of these group took private jets and mega-yachts to the event.

-The Post calculated, based on the number of private jets flown (114 in total), that 784,000 worth of kilograms of CO2 had been released into the air during the weekend.

-Several millionaires and billionaires arrived on yachts with other guests, including Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller, who arrived on their enormous $200 million yacht Eos, which has both sails and two 2,300-horsepower diesel engines.

-Guests were treated to concerts by Sting, Elton John, and Chris Martin among some the ancient runes near the resort.

-No word what was actually discussed, what idea had been implemented, or which group the guests would want to reach out to gain a better perspective on how to begin to influence the powers that be.

This weekend's big studio release is Hobbes & Shaw, a Fast and Furious series spinoff that is set to take over every premium format theater near you. But if you're hankering for something with 100% less Dwayne Johnson, check out the list below for some alternatives.

The films listed are from studios other than the “Big Six” - Paramount, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Columbia and Disney. Check out the posts from the past few weeks for more movies that may have just opened near you: July 26th, July 19th, and July 12th.

Alexa Nikolas: Britney Spears threatened to end my career & Dan Schneider said it's not "Nicole 101"

Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole on Zoey 101 for two seasons before leaving the show, was really upset about being left out of the Zoey 101 reunion. On her instagram, she made posts, comments, and ig stories about how she's still being left out even though everyone is now adults and how the reunion has triggered childhood trauma. Included in her stories were ones calling Dan Schneider a creep and implying he is abusive/a predator.

In more comments, she has now said that she was guided into Jamie Lynn Spears trailer when she was 13 and Britney Spears yelled at her and threatened to end her career. After that happened, Dan Schneider told her it's not Nicole 101 and she was only a side character, so she shouldn't cry or be upset. She says that she wasn't fired from the show and was the one who chose to leave it after a bad on set experience and that she doesn't hate Jamie Lynn Spears.

She also posted pictures from Britney Spears' breakdown as her mood inspiration for the night, but deleted it after backlash from Britney fans.

Shawn Mendes Deletes Social Media

Shawn Mendes admits he deleted social media last week and just sends pictures to manager to upload.
Have y'all ever taken breaks from social media? I deleted FB after the last election and got rid of insta a few months ago and life has never been better

Looking up his name on Twitter I'm not surprised he deleted it from his phone. Regardless of what you think about "Shawmila" some of the posts on there about them are disgusting - they are being tagged in bodyshaming and pornographic images. Camila also went on an unfollow/blocking spree because of the bodyshaming Shawn fan accounts are posting. It's actually vile regardless of whether you like her/them or not.

The View: Tom Steyer, Jerry O'Connell, Hot Topics

Today’s panel is all five Whoopi, Ana, Joy, Sunny, and Meghan.

Tom Steyer Talks Campaign and He Wants to Impeach Racist in Chief

Summary of his convo [Spoiler (click to open)]
Steyer biggest takeaway of last 2 nights, everyone was a million times better than Racist in Chief. Wonders if they’re talking about the right topics, doesn’t like the corporate takeover of America. Whoopi brings up Yang. Steyer says he’s been going to grassroots for last 10 yrs and taking power to the people, for healthcare reform, green new deal, etc. Ana talks about his back n forth. Ana wonders why he changed his mind about running. He doesn’t think we’re dealing with the 2 real issues – corporate stranglehold and stabilize climate. If we do those two things, that gives ability to deliver a better life for Americans in other categories. Whoopi talks about the big corps, paying their fair share (she is all about her money!!). Steyer talks taxes.

Joy wonders how he gets that point across to Tr/mp supporters. Mam is really rude, compares him to Starbucks guy, says he doesn’t know anything about government or military, she goes off yikes. He handles her verbal attack like the child that she is. Sunny chimes in that he gave $100M into 2018 election, which helped with the Dem wins. He talks youth voter mobilization, voter turnout went from 18-41%, flipped 33 of 38 seats. Mam doesn’t understand why he’s running, vs just giving his money to candidates. [Her premise is fair, but her delivery is churlish]. Sunny wonders as well, but poses it as a grown up. He says he’s going to continue the grassroots organization in 2020 regardless of his campaign.

Joy brings up his ads to impeach Racist in Chief. They delve into this topic. Steyer talks his petition from 2 yrs ago, which 8M Americans have signed so far. Joy concedes there’s a moral argument, but what’s the pragmatic argument. Steyer talks about doing the right thing. He always said don’t wait for Mueller, it was already public, we knew Racist in Chief was corrupt (true). Cancel the Congress break, hold televised hearings, get truth out to the public, let the people decide. Ana reminds that it’s the Senate who won’t remove. Steyer feels if enough constituents rise up, the Senators will have to come around. Sunny says let Tr/mp run for re-election while he’s facing impeachment. Steyer’s dad from Brooklyn, a lawyer, took time off to be in the Navy during WWII, prosecuted the N/zis. You step up and do what’s right. The ladies overtalk, Steyer reminds that 80% of Americans feel that government has failed, low voter turnout, no one tells the truth. Mam somehow translates this to him buying the Oval Office (with his money).

Short version, whether you watch or read summary, know that Mam is a petulant child today. Her behavior is so immature in her delivery and disrespectful in how she speaks to people. Egads.

Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" made $41 million and jury decided Flame is owed $2.78 million

After the jury decision that the creators of Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" stole from Christian rapper Flame's song "Joyful Noise", the jury had to deliberate and decide how much he is owed in damages.

Katy Perry reportedly earned $3.2 million for the song and incurred $800,000 in expenses and both parties agreed that the maximum she might have to pay personally is her $2.4 million profit from the song.

Flame's lawyers claimed that the label earned $31 million from the song and the sales of her album Prism which were aided by the success of "Dark Horse".

Capitol Records claimed that "Dark Horse" made $12 million but they spent $11.7 million to produce, promote, and distribute the song so after expenses they were left with only $630,000.

The songwriters collectively earned $10 million before expenses. Max Martin reportedly earned $1.2 million, alleged rapist Dr. Luke earned $347,000, and Cirkut earned $826,000.

Flame's lawyer obviously objected to a lot of the interesting math being done by the record label and argued that his clients should be paid $20 million.

This afternoon the jury decided that they owe $2.78 million to Flame and his codefendants and Katy Perry is personally responsible for $550,000.

Emilia Clarke submitted "The Last of the Starks" as her Emmy submission for Best Drama Actress

Episode 4 is a good choice for Emilia to submit for the Emmys. The range of emotions she displayed through out that entire episode was phenomenal. Her facial expressions and reactions during the feast, the conversation with Jon, and her reaction/stumble after Missandei’s beheading.  She nailed both the dialogue heavy and subtle scenes. It's why she deserves an Emmy for making Dany's descent into madness somewhat believable.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is Electing a New President

Current president John Bailey, who is only slightly more competent than the POTUS, is not re-running for the position for now, based upon convoluted rulees about serving on the board for a total of 9 years.

His successors have been narrowed down to two individuals for certain - David Rubin of the Casting branch (Who ran against Baily) and Lois Burwell of the Makeup and Hairstyling branch.

Burwell would be the first actual Oscar winner to take on the presidency since Frank Pierson (2001-2005), while Rubin would be the first Casting Director ro lead.

The new president will pick a producer for the 92nd Oscar ceremony next Feb. 9th, give more lip service to diversity and inclusion in the Academy, and preside of the opening of the Museum of Motion Pictures (if it ever does open).

The World Celebrates Spider-Man Day

Fifty-seven years ago, most popular superhero of all time Spider-Man was introduced by Stan Lee and that guy Steve Ditko in the August 1962 issue of the variety comic "Amazing Fantasy" (in a kind of creepy, depressing one-shot, actually). His popularity was instantaneous and enormous, and the rest is history. On August 1st, fans around the world celebrate the anniversary of the revolutionary, and now rote archetype, angsty teenage hero by apparently watching movies and playing a lot of Marvel vs. Capcom.

[tweeting from beyond the grave??]

Originally a nerd from Queens named Peter Parker, many characters have taken over the role of Spider-Man over his decades of extreme popularity: from fan-favorite Miles Morales in "Ultimate Spider-Man," to Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman in "Spider-Gwen," to Irish-Mexican "Spider-Man 2099" Miguel O'Hara, to Spider-Girl "Mayday" Parker, to even Dr. Octopus in Peter's body! Spoilers!!

With the rapturously praised "Into The Spider-Verse" winning an Oscar last year to the current "Spider-Man: Homecoming" cleaning up as the highest-grossing Spidey movie of all time, Spider-Man seems to be more popular at age 57 than ever before.

Remember the hyphen, and 'nuff said.

20 year old Echosmith Graham Sierota drummer has been messaging Travis Barker's 13 year old daughter Alabama on Instagram.

Travis Barker:

"When I found out a 20 year old man was trying to get in touch with my 13 year old daughter by filling her Instagram messages with party invites and compliments I was disgusted."

"That’s predatory behavior and there is nothing cool, normal or ok about it at all."

Graham issued a statement:

"I had invited Alabama to my parents’ big family BBQ along with many other people, and it wasn’t until she responded that I realized her age at which point I apologized to her"

"I’m really sorry and feel very badly about this. I didn’t realize she was a minor and assumed she was my age. I made a careless mistake and this is a big lesson for me. I would like to apologize again to Alabama, her dad Travis, and her family."

You obviously don’t need to do all 10 tasks, choose as many as you want, but I figured it gives you some variety and allows you to pick and choose movies that fit your taste but also maybe lead you to watch something you wouldn’t normally seek out. For each task, you can pick whatever movie fits within the guidelines, I've added links to help you out. I tried to add tasks that would allow you to get movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and/or Hulu – but there’s also Kanopy and Hoopla (both of which you can get free access through your library or university). Have a different movie for each task – that is, don’t have the same movie for task 2 and task 6.
