Hole's legendary album "Live Through This" turns 25 this month

- Courtney Love first wrote the song “Asking For It” when she was groped and touched while crowd-surfing in a 1991 show in Glasgow. “I just dove off the stage and suddenly, it was like my dress was being torn off of me, my underwear was being torn off of me, people were putting their fingers inside of me and grabbing my breasts really hard, screaming things in my ears like ‘pussy-whore-cunt.’ When I got back onstage I was naked. [...] But the worst thing of all was that I saw a photograph of it later. Someone took a picture of me right when this was happening, and I had this big smile on my face like I was pretending it wasn’t happening… I can’t compare it to rape because it’s not the same. But in a way it was. I was raped by an audience, figuratively, literally, and yet, was I asking for it?”

- The iconic album was released mere days after Kurt Cobain's death. Audiences noted this unfortunate timing and some continue to believe the lie that Kurt was the one who actually wrote the songs on the album.

- The iconic album cover features model Leilani Bishop in a manic, beauty queen look with smudged mascara that echoes the 1976 film “Carrie.”

Kit Harington says ‘Game of Thrones’ critics can ‘Go fuck themselves’

Game of Thrones actor Kit Harrington had a message for critics of Game of Thrones.

“I think no matter what anyone thinks about this season — and I don’t mean to sound mean about critics here — but whatever critic spends half an hour writing about this season and makes their negative judgement on it, in my head they can go fuck themselves.

He adds that the people making the show put themselves under a lot of pressure making this show, and in the end no one is a bigger fan of the show than themselves, and they are kind of doing it all for themselves. So if people are let down by this final season, he doesn't give a fuck.

The cast of Netflix’s ‘The Perfect Date’ do the promotional rounds

The cast of Netflix’s latest romcom The Perfect Date (Noah Centineo, Laura Marano, and Odiseas Georgiadis) sit down with ET to discuss their film which is based on the book “The Stand-In” by Steve Bloom. Noah’s co-stars mention how he had already filmed To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before while filming The Perfect Date, but that he barely mentioned it to them. They also noted that To All The Boys had not yet been released while they filmed their movie.

Laura Marano also mentions that she is a fan of Lana Condor and that she would love to meet her so that they could bond over the similarities of a “fake relationship” in their respective films with Noah. The cast also mention similarities with his other ONTD hated film, Sierra Burgess is a Loser. More promo clips with the cast behind the cut.

New Books Hitting Shelves This Week

The Murmur of Bees

From the day that old Nana Reja found a baby abandoned under a bridge, the life of a small Mexican town forever changed. Disfigured and covered in a blanket of bees, little Simonopio is for some locals the stuff of superstition, a child kissed by the devil. But he is welcomed by landowners Francisco and Beatriz Morales, who adopt him and care for him as if he were their own. As he grows up, Simonopio becomes a cause for wonder to the Morales family, because when the uncannily gifted child closes his eyes, he can see what no one else can—visions of all that’s yet to come, both beautiful and dangerous. Followed by his protective swarm of bees and living to deliver his adoptive family from threats—both human and those of nature—Simonopio’s purpose in Linares will, in time, be divined.

Set against the backdrop of the Mexican Revolution and the devastating influenza of 1918, The Murmur of Bees captures both the fate of a country in flux and the destiny of one family that has put their love, faith, and future in the unbelievable.

Eva Mendes: Ryan Gosling made me want kids

  • Eva Mendes is Women's Health's May cover model. This is the famously private actress' one interview per year (she hasn't appeared in a film since her cameo in Ryan Gosling's 2014 film Lost River).

  • On why she changed her mind on not wanting kids: "It was the furthest thing from my mind. Ryan Gosling happened. [she giggles and adds] I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have...not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him."

  • The couple has adopted a rescue dog after losing Ryan's dog two years ago (animal Instagram The Dodo had her wondering if they could adopt a pig), and four year old Esmeralda thinks her father is an astronaut after visiting him on the set of the Neil Armstrong movie First Man.

  • Eva finds it very hard to work out and her health and vanity forces her "kicking and screaming" to the gym.

  • She has scrambled eggs and coffee with coconut oil or coconut sugar every morning and tries to eat healthy but has a sweet tooth. To relax, Eva has Thai massages and listens to opera.

  • Her mother has given her a sense of appreciation for what she has and how lucky she is and she tries to remind her kids of the same. She credits hers and Ryan's families and a day planner for day to day life with two children.

  • When Ryan Gosling dedicated his Golden Globe to her and her departed brother in 2017, she actually wasn't watching the ceremony until her sister yelled for her in the other room. She had no idea Ryan was going to do it and since losing her brother was "incredibly difficult," she said the dedication was a dream.

George Lucas Directed Scene in Game of Thrones Season Premiere; Martin Starr & Rob McElhenney Cameos

George Lucas came to visit the set of Game of Thrones while they were filming the premiere episode, and directed the scene between Jon and Daenerys as they discuss Sansa's less than warm reception. Everyone geeked out and initially thought it was a joke that he'd be visiting.

Martin Starr (Silicon Valley) and Rob McElhenney (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) had cameos as Greyjoy guards who get killed in the season premiere.

It's not the first time Game of Thrones has intersected with It's Always Sunny. Years ago, Weiss & Benioff met McElhenney at a party and expressed that they were fans of the show. They've written an episode (S9's "Flower's for Charlie") as well as had cameos on the most recent season of It's Always Sunny as nameless lifeguards.

#FreeBritney is trending after disturbing details of c-ship come to light

Backstory: Britney's Gram is a podcast devoted to keeping up with Britney Spears. The hosts have sat in on hearings for Britney's ongoing conservatorship, and detailed encounters with her lawyers and representatives.

A paralegal for an attorney who worked on Britney's c-ship left them a disturbing voicemail detailing the circumstances surrounding Britney's latest treatment.

In summary:
• He says Britney has actually been in a mental health facility since January, and it was due to her no longer taking her medication. It wasn't voluntary.
• After her father Jamie found out, he took her to a doctor who prescribed her new medication. She refused to take those too.
• In order to get her to comply, Jamie threatened to cancel her Domination residency. And he did, using his own illness as the excuse. He then had her committed.
• Britney's team members, specifically Lou, Larry, and Adam, are hellbent on keeping Britney medicated and under a conservatorship to secure their own finances. The paralegal says during a meeting, Larry Rudolph's only concern was that her hiatus will help with ticket sales when she announces another residency.
• Her siblings, Jamie Lynn and Bryan, have supposedly "given up" on interfering.

The website has already been taken down but the podcast episode can still accessed through this link, or via iTunes.

Britney's mom, Lynne Spears, was liking comments with the hashtag #FreeBritney, and Britney's own team started blocking the hashtag from appearing on her Instagram page.

ONTD Original: Lies Michael Jackson Told Us

"In the Leaving Neverland documentary, there's a brief exchange between Katie Couric and Johnnie Cochran, who was OJ Simpson's lawyer, about Vanity Fair saying something—it was about my article ['Nightmare in Neverland,' published in January 1994]. Johnnie Cochran didn't deny what was in the article, he just said, 'I don't believe anything I read in Vanity Fair, do you?' There's a non-denial denial." —Maureen Orth, in conversation with The Ringer, March 2019

For 11 years, National Magazine Award-winning journalist Maureen Orth tirelessly researched and reported on the downward spiral of Michael Jackson for Vanity Fair. Beginning with 1994's "Nightmare in Neverland," not one of Orth's five painstakingly fact-checked pieces were ever challenged by Jackson, despite being rife with information that directly opposed his own narrative as he fielded multiple allegations of child sexual-abuse.

That Orth's stories went to press unscathed is undoubtedly a testament to the veracity of her reporting. However, it is dually illustrative of her subject's confidence in his ability to dominate the very mass media he so often decried. With the help of a "huge public-relations train," Jackson used his shrewd business acumen and wealth to bend the truth to his benefit and ensure his voice was the loudest.

Arguably his most masterful manipulation of the press came in the form of an interview with PrimeTime Live's Diane Sawyer on June 14, 1995. Seated alongside then-wife Lisa Marie Presley, Jackson was given carte blanche by Sawyer and ABC News to make the grandest of declarations—that he had been "cleared" of all charges made against him two years earlier—erroneously and unchallenged.

Below, five more lies that Michael Jackson told the public on that night in 1995.

Grimes claims that she's "ready to play the villain."

Crack Magazine did a profile on everyone's favorite union-busting chanteuse and Mars Princess-in-waiting, and hoo boy, there's some fun quotes in it:

Grimes on democracy: “I thought people understood that I ultimately probably believe in an AI dictatorship. I mean, I don’t think humanity is going to survive anyway. We’re fucked. I think AI is the natural evolution. It’s just like we killed the fucking Neanderthals, and now they’re going to kill us. I don’t think democracy really works. These are the kinds of things I think."

Grimes on socialism:"I actually, for the short term, am a bit of a socialist, but not economically. I’m into free markets. What can I say? I think capitalism can solve some things.”

Grimes on her new album:"“I wanted to make climate change fun. Miss Anthropocene has got a Voldemort kind of vibe. She’s naked all the time and she’s made out of ivory and oil. It’s going to be super tight.”
