Legendary Musician David Gilmour will Auction Off 120 Guitars

For the chilluns wondering 'hew', he's the vocalist and guitarist of Pink Floyd whose album Dark Side of the Moon has sold 45 million copies worldwide. (When will your faves? They won't.) Clearly the Pink Floyd guitarist is ready to spark some joy in his AARP life. Gilmour will be auctioning off 120 guitars that have accompanied him through his career including some that were used to record the seminal albums Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here. Some of the guitars used to record some of the legendary instruments could fetch up to $100,000 at Christie's (help OP, she's poor). Gilmour strongly states at the source that this auction does not mean he's retiring. The money will benefit his foundation to help with famine relief and homelessness. No word if Gilmour is eliminating his books.

Beyoncé and Her Husband Want You To Go Vegan for Concert Tickets

The wannabe billionaires have endorsed a plant based diet for the last couple of years in order to prepare for tours. Looks like fans will have to opportunity to reap the rewards of a plant based diet. If the fans enter the contest and commit to adapting a vegan diet, they can win free concert tickets for life. (Well at least for the next thirty years and only one ticket per tour.) This is to motivate people to reduce their carbon footprint and their collaboration called The Greenprint Project with 22 Days Nutrition creator Mario Borges shows how eating less meat benefits the environment. No plan if the couple plans to ditch their love of private planes and renting yachts from actual billionaires.

Police: No footage yet showing ‘Empire’ actor being attacked

Detectives say none of the footage police have reviewed shows an attack, noting that the review is ongoing.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said:

"We haven't seen anybody, at this point, matching the description he gave, nobody looks menacing and we didn't find a container anywhere," referring to the container that would have carried the liquid that was thrown at Smollett.

Detectives have looked at hundreds of hours of surveillance video from businesses and hotels in the heavily monitored area.

Chicago has one of the most sophisticated and extensive video surveillance systems in the U.S., with thousands of cameras on street poles, skyscrapers, buses and in train tunnels.

Indie Film Release Guide: February 1st [An ONTD Original]

ONTD Indie Release Guide Graphic.png

The poorly reviewed Miss Bala is the only big studio wide release this week, but for you history buffs, Warner Brothers is releasing They Shall Not Grow Old in more theaters after a successful limited release. If neither of those catches your eye, take a gander at this list of indies. Many of the films on this week’s roundup have Rotten Tomato scores over 80%, which is more than I can say for any individual week in January. If nothing here floats your boat, check out some of the Oscar contenders coming back to theaters like Free Solo.

The films listed are from studios other than the “Big Six” - Paramount, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Columbia and Disney. Note that some of the movies listed are in their first week or two of limited release in the USA, so it may take them a few more weeks (or months) to show up in your local arthouse theater or on VOD. Check out the posts from the past few weeks for more movies that may have just opened near you: January 25th, January 18th, January 11th.

‘Flipping Out’ Couple Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward Are DUNZO

Jeff Lewis, Star of Bravo’s hit reality show Flipping Out, and his long time partner Gage Edward are broken up. The house flipper took to the airwaves on his SiriusXM radio show Jeff Lewis Live to announce the couple have been in turmoil for over a year and sleeping in separate bedrooms, but still sleeping together.

Jeff revealed Gage actually moved out of their shared Hollywood Hills home the previous night. Jeff said around New Years Eve he realized he wanted to salvage their relationship but Gage had mentally and emotionally checked out. The two are parents to a two year old daughter, Monroe.

This is the latest bombshell in 12 months for the reality tv star. First, he is being sued by his surrogate for filming their daughters birth and airing it against her wishes and their signed agreement on their reality show as well as slandering her body image on the show and on his radio. Secondly, he is facing a harassment lawsuit from former long time friend and reality co-star, Jenni Pulos. Finally, Jeff revealed back in October Bravo won’t renew their show without Jenni’s involvement so he’s most likely done on TV.

Kylie Jenner once ordered a single carrot on Postmates

Today in “Stewie, how is this news?” Kylie Jenner is the latest celebrity to be featured in Postmates’ The Receipt. In the last 365 days, Kylie placed 186 orders which totaled around $10,000.

What did she order? Well, once just a single carrot and a Smartwater. “Yes, you can Postmate a single carrot regardless of if it’s the only ingredient you’re missing — or you have a carrot craving,” says the popular courier app.

Smollett Family Releases Statement; Trump Says Something Useless

Jussie Smollett has not made a public statement since he was the victim of a racist and homophobic assault early Tuesday, but today, his family released this statement to the media:

"In the early hours of Tuesday morning, our beloved son and brother, Jussie, was the victim of a violent and unprovoked attack. We want to be clear, this was a racial and homophobic hate crime. Jussie has told the police everything from the very beginning. His story has never changed, and we are hopeful they will find these men and bring them to justice...

Jussie is a warrior whose light cannot be dimmed. We want people to understand these targeted hate crimes are happening to our sisters, brothers and our gender non-conforming siblings, many who reside within the intersection of multiple identities, on a monthly, weekly, and sometimes even daily basis all across our country. Oftentimes ending fatally, these are inhumane acts of domestic terrorism and they should be treated as such. They will continue to occur until we hold each other accountable.

Hateful words lead to hateful actions. Radical love is the only solution, but passivity will be our downfall. We, as a family, will continue to work for love, equity and justice until it reigns supreme in our nation and all over the world."

In other news, President Trump commented on the crime against Smollett when asked about it today by a reporter: "That I can tell you is horrible. I've seen it, last night. I think that's horrible. It doesn't get worse, as far as I'm concerned." He did not comment on the allegation that the attackers shouted "MAGA country" at Smollett as they were assaulted him.

Troye Sivan: "Part of me wonders if I would be more successful if I wasn’t gay"

Sivan stated this on a episode of the podcast "Homo Sapiens". I'll copy+paste what the site highlighted.

“I have a great management team and great label, and I haven’t had this conversation with anyone else in fear because I hate it, hate it, hate it when pop stars sound bitter, or blame any sort of lack of success on anything other than for themselves,”

“I don’t want to come across like I’m saying that at all, but this just feels like a safe space where we can have an open conversation.”

“Part of me wonders sometimes if I would be more commercially successful if I wasn’t gay or not as ‘in your face gay’."

“I think we’re in a really interesting time in music right now where we are seeing more and more queer artists pop up, but we don’t have a queer Taylor Swift, we don’t have a queer Rihanna, or a queer Beyoncé. It’s not there yet I don’t think, though it feels very exciting to be where we are, I still feel like there’s a really tall mountain to climb.

“Sometimes it can be frustrating because I’m giving my all and not having some humongous radio smash all over the world. 100% could just be on the music, maybe the music just isn’t good enough, maybe the world is obsessed with hip hop right now and I’m making the furthest thing from hip hop.

“It could be a myriad other things, but a part of me wonders sometimes, is the world actually ready right now for what I’m trying to be?”

Adam Levine on Super Bowl Halftime Controversy: “We expected it, we’d like to move on from it”

For months now, Maroon 5 has been plagued with criticism for agreeing to perform at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show amid boycotts and protests against the league’s treatment of former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the National Anthem.

For the first time, Adam Levine of Maroon 5 addresses the controversy. He says, “You know I think that when you look back at every single halftime show, people just can’t – it’s this like insatiable urge to hate a little bit,” Levine told ET’s Kevin Frazier.

“I’m not in the right profession if I can’t handle a little bit of controversy. It’s what it is. We expected it. We’d like to move on from it.” Levine adds that he discussed the decision with “many people,” but, “I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision based on upon how I felt about it all.”

Chelsea Peretti on leaving 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

It's not goodbye forever but Gina had a major send-off in this week's episode. She said leaving "wasn’t fully just my decision. It’s hard to get into the weeds of what exactly transpired and how it all shook out, but it kind of came together to be this timing that presented itself...
