Vogue just needed a celebrity angle to talk about how popular mead is becoming considering that Sprouse's meadery in Williamsburg opened two months ago whereas other mead places have open longer.
The article has a brief history of mead and reasons for why it's gone out of popularity over time (mostly due to taxation and access to materials what with honey being a key component). Recipes differ but all meads have these three key components: honey, water, and yeast.
Dylan got into making mead because as a recognizable child actor, he couldn't exactly BS beer from 7/11: “Like any other 16-year-old, I wanted to drink with my friends. We couldn‘t go to 7/11 and get some older person to buy it, so I decided that we may as well make it,” he says. Why mead? “Because it‘s a lot easier than beer.”
His first work space was in his parent's garage where he put too much sugar in the first batch resulting in something “gross, disgusting.”
He also had another gross batch of garlic mead he calls "Stinky Boi" that he claims “poured over chicken, it’s fucking delicious”. Apparently he's a huge nerd for making the stuff.
He basically makes mead full time because it's something he enjoys, and he says that he's a selective actor who's currently bored. He currently runs All Wise with two friends, Doug Brochu and Matt Kwan as well as a helping hand from Andrew Carmellini.
According to the American Mead Makers Association, a new meadery opens every three days, and there are about 500 currently in the US.

A few of the One Tree Hill cast is reuniting for a Lifetime Christmas movie so after promo for that was wrapped, Cosmo asked them some OTH related stuff which led to a discussion about why some of them don't think the show would work today.
“Every girl on the show was written as a hooker with a heart of gold," said Hilarie Burton. "I was a square all through high school, so when I had to go back and do high school for the second time for One Tree Hill and my character was, like, walking out of the shower with her boyfriend...what? What are you talking about?”
Dannell Ackles chimed in with a joking agreement. “Where were our parents?”
Hilarie continued by saying a lot of the problem was that none of the actors were actual teenagers. “There was a lot of, like, senseless underwear action, and when everyone on set is a real adult, they forget that the viewer at home thinks this is a 15, 16, 17-year-old, and so that creates a new normal for those 'real' 15, 16, 17-year-olds. That was something we were really bent out of shape about. And I think now, there is a sensitivity about Oh, who’s our audience?"
“I think M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) contacted me once because I got in the car with some booze, and it was just not referenced at all. Like I had been drinking and then I got in a car and drove people, and no one, the show didn’t talk about it," said Ackles.
Hilarie finished with how even though the show was about two brothers that it's still important to have a strong female presence. "I think it’s incredibly important for shows that have a strong female presence, particularly shows about teenage girls, have at least fifty percent representation in that writers' room. It's vital."
You can see Hilarie Burton, Robert Buckley, Danneel Ackles, Antwon Tanner, and Tyler Hilton in The Christmas Contract, which airs Nov. 22. AND THEN 'Tis the Season: A One Tree Hill Cast Reunion will air after that.

Do you agree with Natalia ONTD?
To much of most of ONTD's disgust, J.K. Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewlald' naturally topped the Thursday box office, bringing in $9.1 million on Thursday night in the U.S. and Canada (on a $150M+ budget). This is slightly above the $8.8M brought in by its predecessor, 2016's 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'.
'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewlald' is expected to bring in somewhere between $65M-$75M domestically this weekend, and at least $250M worldwide (including China).
Other big movies out this weekend include the critically-acclaimed drama 'Widows', which brought in $600K on Thursday (expected to bring in $12M-$18M on a $40M budget), and Marky Mark's latest trash 'Instant Family', at $550K (estimated to make $15M-$20M on a $48M budget).
Also out this weekend in limited release are 'Green Book', 'At Eternity's Gate', and ' Jonathan'.

In 2 weeks, when SVU returns after Thanksgiving break, I think they might be doing a variation on that story about the reclusive Collyer brothers, which 9-1-1 (a far superior show) already did, to great effect, last season. But I could be wrong, since I only watched the promo on mute because that's how much I care. Still, even on mute, I could see that Judd Hirsh and Wallace Shawn will be guest starring, and that's pretty awesome to be honest. So awesome, in fact, I might even watch the episode!
Also, last night's episode (which I did not watch) was extra special. Allow the SVU showrunner to explain:
I just learned this is Caruso’s 100th episode. Maxel Tov Peter S.— Michael Chernuchin (@Noochone) November 16, 2018
Translation: it was Carisi's 100th episode, and the showrunner can not be bothered a) to learn how to spell the character's name, b) to learn how to spell the actor's name, or c) to write actual lines for Carisi.
ONTD, are you a Caruso stan like me, or do you not give a single fuck about him, like the SVU writers?
- no word on whether Clark will be back or not alongside the rest of the cast

Carey spoke about her hits as well as deepcuts like “The Roof” and “Breakdown,” calling the former her favorite of her songs. She revealed that she is currently writing a memoir, so she attempted to not divulge too much gossip over the course of the night. “I’m trying not to give it all away,” she said before reminiscing a bit about writing “The Roof.”
Nevertheless, the chanteuse was candid about her music and her creative process in the hour-long interview, held before an audience of devoted lambs who knew the singer's extensive catalogue word-for-word. As a devoted lamb myself, my observation is the Carey seems more comfortable with herself and her career than she has in many years. In fact, I think one album review published today in the Atlantic captured Carey's current evolution:
"There might be some sort of re-evaluation going on about Carey lately. The soundtrack for her famous flop of a film, 2001’s Glitter, just hit the top of the iTunes charts thanks to a fan campaign on social media. Her announcement of bipolar-disorder diagnosis this April added complexity to erratic-diva caricatures drawn of her. And she’s been nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame in recognition of the under-discussed fact that she’s co-written almost her entire discography, including 17 of her 18 top Billboard hits."
