Emma Fuhrmann will also reportedly play teenage Cassie Lang, Scott Lang's daughter who grows up to become Stature. Oscar-nominated teen heartthrob and i-D cover star Timothée Chalamet spoke to award-winning musician Harry Styles about fame, social media and modern masculinity for our Superstar issue!
Harry Styles interviewed Timothée Chalamet for i-D magazine via phone. It's pretty long.
They discuss acting, Beautiful Boy, addiction, Call Me By Your Name, family, success, politics, and social media, and upcoming projects, among other things.
On why addiction is cloaked in secrecy and shame: I’m no authority on this, but I think it’s because it’s easier to see it that way. It’s comforting for people to give a face to addiction and think it couldn’t affect you, your family or your loved ones. When the reality, like you said, is that it’s an illness that doesn’t discriminate. It knows no race, class or gender. It’s a very human illness that affects a lot of people our age. One of the things I really like about Beautiful Boy is it doesn’t really get into why Nic’s addicted. I think it’s easier for people to think it’s a choice, that when people are addicted they’re on this big party binge and euphoria, when there’s often a big black hole, as Nic would say, or a place of pain.
Refecting on the past few years: Dude, I feel so much gratitude. I say it to my dad a lot and he makes fun of me because I never used to talk like this, but I see people our age and how invigorated they are for the world and it inspires me. Three years ago, I was nervous because people talked about social media affecting attention spans and how nobody could sit down anymore, and art and film were relics. But I actually feel like this stuff is urgent.
On traditional masculine ideals: It’s almost a high to be vulnerable. I really get that. I think it can be achieved in art, but also in intimacy. It’s the craziest feeling to achieve that vulnerability. If us having this conversation, in any infinitesimal way, can help anyone, a guy, a girl, realise that being vulnerable is not a weakness, not a social barrier. It doesn’t mean you’re crazy or hyper emotional, you’re just human, which I think is something your music gets at and hopefully my movies do too. Humans are complex; we need to feel a lot of things. We are not homogeneous.
Super spy Lance Sterling (Will Smith) and scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is... not. When events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way. And if this odd couple can’t learn to work as a team, the whole world is in peril.

- Filmmaker Joel Schumacher told 'Will & Grace' creators: “Whatever you do, don’t let it get butt-fucky, at no point should your audience ever be thinking about butt-fucking”. - So they said 'fuck it' and they're airing a gay sex roles episode. - “We found a way to do this story and to tell it the right way and we’re going to,” Mutchnick says. “I feel like we’ve finally cracked [it], because these stories, they have to be entertaining first, they have to be funny, and they have to be enjoyable. And if there’s some message that is received through the backdoor—staying on subject—then we win”

Something about LJ has changed since last week's indie movie post, so please forgive any errors with the post - I am still trying to figure out how to fix whatever they broke. :/

Megan Fox and her three boys on Halloween this year. Megan famously lets her boys wear whatever they want (dresses or no dresses) and play with whatever toy they want, whether marketed specifically to boys or girls. Gender roles are not a thing in that household, which OP personally thinks is pretty fucking cool.
Toss your drink Target: Toyota Lasagna Dressed Up As Kathy Griffin for Halloween and titled it 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'. In a recent interview the sk8r boi songstress was asked about her body double rumor. Legend has it Lavigne, who was struggling with fame at the beginning of her career, began using a body double named Melissa Vandella. At some point, the real Lavigne is said to have died or committed suicide, so the record company replaced her with Melissa Vandella full-time. The singer confirmed her tweets were about Davidson when she re-posted a fan's response to the SNL promo.
Jonah Hill hosts SNL for the 5th time this weekend and Gummy Jon Cryer is doing promo with him and milking that relationship with Ariana dry. In the promo, he proposes to musical guest Maggie Rogers and when she rightfully says no, he "jokes" "0 for 3". His hair is also no longer blonde because he likely can't afford the upkeep anymore.

Filmmaker Doug Liman recalls what it was like sharing a house with Tom Cruise while they were shooting 2017 movie American Made:
“We shared a house, along with a writer. We were roommates from hell. To be honest, I’m a little messy and Tom Cruise is a kind of a neat freak, some might say OCD, and when it comes to the dishes (he) believes they should be scrubbed before they go in the dishwasher, which I don’t. We had trouble hiring a maid, so we actually had a chore chart in the house and when it was my turn to do the dishes, I’d hide them in the pantry. But Tom doesn’t miss a thing!”
Kim became upset when no one recognized her Pamela Anderson costume at a Halloween party. She dropped the r word in an Instagram story but later deleted. Today she issued an apology. Back in July, Khloe also issued an apology for using the r word.
"Hollywood in general could do more to incorporate the real-life demographics, reasons, and actual abortion options into their scripts." https://t.co/nx4xx7XlC6
Delilah revealed her very unexpected pregnancy on A Million Little Things, one had to wonder if she would keep the baby. If the baby was her husband Jon’s, he died in a tragic suicide and that child would be a constant reminder of his death. If the baby was her lover Eddie’s, well, Eddie was one of Jon’s closest friends and it would be a huge debacle. The baby is Eddie's. She does not want to continue with this much upheaval in her and her kid’s lives, and so she schedules an abortion. Delilah’s abortion scene shows her nearly weeping on a surgical table, and, in the end, she doesn’t complete the procedure.
The consequences surrounding her abortion do a disservice to those watching on television. Women decide to not terminate their pregnancy at the very last minute, like viewers so often see on television. 95 percent of women who do have an abortion don't regret it and report that it was the right decision for them at the time. The portrayal of Delilah’s abortion is misleading. Delilah’s pregnancy is still in the very, very early stages, it would not have needed an in-clinic abortion but a medical abortion.
Characters who had abortions recently on TV Olivia Pope 'Scandal' Xio 'Jane The Virgin' Fiona Gallagher 'Shameless' Cristina Yang 'Grey's Anatomy' Coco 'Dear White People' Virginia 'Claws' Paula 'Crazy Ex Girlfriend'

Netflix has designated November 6 (also midterm election day for the US) as Stranger Things day. They are telling a narrative about BW thru ppl who aren't BW. He thinks bc he said they would hire "WOC" we should fall at their feet and not call out the other BS? Take your evil somewhere else. These are actors. And you are bullying. Do not ever tweet me again. Hopefully one day you will see a difference between fiction and reality. And hopefully one day you won’t find out what real racism is. I’m reporting your tweets as harassment.
There is a storyline that has received a lot of negativity among the fans of New Amsterdam. Dr Reynolds and Dr Bloom are fuck buddies. When Bloom proposed to Reynolds to have some coffee, he rejected her offer. He wants to marry a black queen and have black children. Bloom's passive aggressive remark about Reynolds' view about dating black women was not received well by the fandom. Since his big speech, he is still puirsuing Bloom who does not want him now. They have introduced a new black woman (recurring) on the show, fans think she will be used as a prop for Reynolds to end up with Bloom.
