+ I’m not saying all of these movies are 100% woke. Just that they tackle at least one socially or politically progressive topic that wasn’t just controversial at the time but still is today.
+ Most of these movies were made while the Hays Code was in place which censored immoral~ content. If you need a quick historical primer, Vox has a good video on the topic. It just makes these movies all the more impressive for somehow making it past the censors.

Twentieth Century Fox executives are making movies and developing new projects with no certainty as to what Disney will do with them https://t.co/9mWVBc2spy— The Wall Street Journal (@WSJ) August 10, 2018
For everyone at 20th Century Fox, it's business as usual despite recently having studio shareholders approve a $71.3 billion merger with Disney that would give up control of its movie and TV assets. A recent article by the Wall Street Journal discusses the uncertainty over at 20th Century Fox.
Despite all of that uncertainty and woe there was some news about one of Fox's most successful animated TV shows. Fox is currently developing a Family Guy feature film that would be a mixture of animation and live action. The Family Guy film would be joining the previously announced Bob’s Burgers: The Movie and the sequel to 2007's The Simpsons Movie.
According to the source: “[CEO Stacey] Snider has emphasized a revamp of Fox’s approach to animation, bringing in a new partner to replace an expired deal with DreamWorks Animation after it was acquired by Comcast Corp. The film studio is partnering with the Fox television studio on a big-screen adaptation of the animated series Bob’s Burgers, a second Simpsons movie in development, and a Family Guy film that would mix animation with live action, said people with knowledge of the projects.”
Bob’s Burgers: The Movie is set for a July 17th 2020 release date while both The Simpsons sequel and Family Guy film have not received an official release date. With the Disney acquisition deal still looming, it doesn't quite guarantee that those last two projects would actually be made and/or released. Based on the article by the WSJ, their fate and several other projects over at 20th Century Fox depend on Disney and their development status once the merger is complete.

Zayn's Official Statement: “My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”
One Direction's Official Statement: “We're really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally
respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we've gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. - Marilyn Monroe starred in John Huston's The Misfits in 1961, written by her then-husband Arthur Miller.
- In a love scene with Clark Gable, Monroe dropped the bedsheet covering her body.
- The scene wasn't included in the final cut of the film, because Huston didn't think it was necessary to the story.
- The producer Frank Taylor disagreed, and saved the footage, which was previously thought to have been destroyed.
- Its existence was uncovered when author Charles Casillo interviewed Taylor's son while doing research for his new book about Monroe. The son has kept the footage in a locked cabinet since his father's death in 1999. [OP edited to clarify the details]
- This would have been one of the first, if not THE first, nude scene by a major actress in the sound film era.
- They haven't decided what to do with it.
What do you think they should do with the footage? Are nude scenes ever necessary for the story?
