Katy Perry and Other Celebrities Pose With Children's Books For A Good Cause

Katy Perry, Tracie Ellis Ross, Lionel Richie, Alec Baldwin and other celebrities have taken "shelfies" of their favorite children's books for Disney's Magic of Storytelling campaign. The charity campaign is attempting to donate one million books to children in need through March 31st. (I mean, Disney is worth billions of dollars and they could easily donate one million books on their own if they wanted to, but whatever.)

Emma Watson's New Tattoo Has The Wrong Grammar

Emma Watson attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and showed off a new tattoo. There's just one problem... the tattoo has incorrect grammar.

The tattoo says "Times up." The correct punctuation should be "Time's up," with an apostrophe, since the word is a contraction of "Time is up."

Emma was educated at Brown University and the University of Oxford. She majored in English.

2018 Oscars hit a ratings low, down 16% from last year

-- Last night's Oscars were viewed by 29 million viewers
-- However this is a 16 percent drop from last year (and doubt that had to do with the BP fiasco since that was at the very end)
-- The Shape of Water won best picture (overall 4 wins), followed by Dunkirk (3 wins), and 3 Billboards, Darkest Hour, Coco and Blade Runner (with 2 wins each)

RuPaul responds to criticism about his recent interview

RuPaul, who doesn't seem to be familiar with many Olympic athletes, responded on Twitter to the criticism he received for his comments about not wanting any transitioned trans women or cis women competing on Drag Race because "drag loses its sense of danger and its sense of irony once it’s not men doing it".

His earlier explanation also implied that he believed trans women who hadn't had surgery were still men.

“It’s gonna be a new movie, a different tone,” he added. “You’re gonna see a lot of the East Coast of America… They’re gonna go around the world.”

Game of Thrones Season 8 news post

-For Season 8, Lena Headey's body double for nude scenes was filming for most of last week. Considering she was filming for a few days, it most likely means Cersei will have pretty extensive nude scene(s) in season 8. The walk of shame is the only nude scene before that has taken a few days.

-The speculation for extensive Cersei nudity is sex scenes with Euron, pregnancy, or abuse/death scene.

-The filming for Season 8 is now halfway over and the main cast was seen celebrating in Belfast with D&D. You can see photo of them hanging out at source.

Dee Rees, Melissa McCarthy, and Nancy Meyers Debut Three Short Films for Walmart at the Oscars

– Walmart asked directors Dee Rees (Pariah, Mudbound), Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), and Nancy Meyers (The Parent Trap, Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday), to direct three short films for them revolving around the concept of a Walmart box.
– The three short films aired last night. Rees and Meyer's were just one minute, while McCarthy's ran longer and was edited down for time.
– This is the second year of short films aired during the Oscars, as Walmart asked Antoine Fuqua, Marc Foster, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldeberg. The definition of an upgrade as Walmart was forced to hike its minimum wage last month, but not without layoffs.
– The other talent: Dee Rees worked with Mary J. Blige and her trail-blazing cinematographer Rachel Morrison and features professional boxer Claressa Shields from Flint, Michigan. McCarthy's stars Tony-award nominated Keala Settle. Meyer's film features composer Hans Zimmer and P.J. Byrne.

Emma Stone receives backlash for "four men and Greta Gerwig" joke at the Oscars

While presenting Best Director at the Oscars last night, Emma Stone introduced the nominees as "four men and Greta Gerwig," a jab at the fact that Gerwig is only the fifth female director to be nominated in Oscars history.

Some Twitter activists are taking issue with this joke, since two of the nominees - including eventual winner Guillermo del Toro - were men of color. They say it represents "peak white feminism."

Jessica Jones S2 Reviews: Return of the Superhero in the Age of #MeToo

– Critics received the first five episodes of season 2 and are mostly positive. Some said it doesn't have the appeal of season one yet, citing lack of direction and stakes so far.
– Two-time Oscar nominee Janet McTeer joins this season as a pivotal, mysterious character. McTeer said it's a very physical role and that she was drawn to the show because of its portrayal of gender politics, PTSD, and abuse. “When they sent me scripts of the part, I thought, ‘This is a part I haven’t played before. To do something you’ve never done before when you’re my age is really cool. I liked the challenge.”
– Season 2 directors: Anna Foerster, Minkie Spiro, Mairzee Almos, Deborah Chow, Millicent Shelton, Jet Wilkinson, Jennifer Getzinger, Zetna Fuentes, Rosemary Rodriguez, Neasa Hardiman, Jennifer Lynch, Liz Friedlander, and Uta Briesewitz.
– Krysten Ritter on the work environment: “It is a very supportive environment. There’s no ego, there’s no infighting, which is important, because I can go into darker places if I feel safe to be vulnerable.” Ritter said she was able to find a balance between the dark stuff and returning to normal this time around working on the second season. The show is very much a collaboration of her and creator Melissa Rosenberg, Ritter says, and they get along really well.
– Jessica and Trish's relationship evolves but will remain the heart of the show. Trish wants Jessica's powers. Jesisca sees Malcolm as younger brother. Hogarth is still self-serving, she and Jessica maintain a testy relationship.
– Ritter on the impact of Jessica: “Real women on the street came up to me in tears because this was the first time they felt represented by the lead; it made them feel so much better about their own traumas. Even hearing women saying they were excited to see a badass female character was great: people responded to her in such a huge way.”
– Thirteen international artist created pulp art for each episode of season 2. Check it out below, and beware they contain the episode titles if you wanna stay spoiler free.

– The second season releases on March 8th.

Donya Fiorentino Is (Rightfully) Not Happy With Gary Oldman's Oscar Win

  • Fiorentino was this piece of shit's third wife from 1997 to 2001.

  • She has recalled his extreme emotional and physical abuse of her during their marriage.

  • Notoriously, he beat her with a telephone receiver when she attempted to call the police in front of their children (and many people - naturally - don't believe her since Oldman was rewarded custody of their kids).

  • Oldman (of course) denies the allegations, claiming he ''accidentally'' hit her as they both reached for the phone. Sure.

  • Fiorentino also (rightfully) calls out Kobe Bryant who was charged with sexual assault in 2003.

  • She says: “Congratulations, Gary and congratulations to the Academy for awarding not one, but two abusers with Oscars. I thought we had evolved. What happened to the #MeToo movement?”

  • Now, many people (that aren't ONTD) can defend their favourite actor against domestically abusing a woman the world doesn't care about, HOWEVER, here's a friendly reminder he's also an extreme racist and nobody can deny that.

  • In conclusion, people are so willing to excuse men and Oldman ain't shit.

Star Wars: Rebels Comes to a Close and Promises Things To Come

– Star Wars: Rebels fourth and last season aired its series finale tonight as the battle for Ezra's homeworld Lothal against Admiral Thrawn, the Emperor, and the Empire itself came to a a close.
– The last few weeks contained a number of revelations and farewells, and tonight was no different. Beware of spoilers:
[Spoiler (click to open)]Ezra and crew staged one last attempt to reclaim Lothal without the help of the Rebel Alliance. After a long battle, Thrawn presented Ezra with a choice – either continue to fight and he would destroy the city of Lothal, or completely surrender himself to him without a fight. Ezra surrended himself, but when it became clear Thrawn wasn't being truthful about his side of the bargain, he staged a back up plan. First, Hera, Sabine, Rex, Callus, Gregor, Zeb and others went further into the Imperial Base to activate the shields. Greg dies during the battle and Rex says farewell. Come face to face with the Emperor, Ezra is given the choice to use the Jedi temple to go back to his parents, but knows that he has to let them go and destorys the temple. Ezra then brought back the Purrgil, the space whales from earlier in the series, to destroy the Imperial blockade surrounding Lothal. With the Purrgil wrapping their tentacles tight around Thrawn, and Ezra commanding the Imperial ship on the bridge, they leapt to Hyperspace towards an unknown destination as he said goodbye to his new family, only explaining in a message left behind on the Ghost ship that "it's something Kanan taught me." Hera and crew destroy the Imperial base as Lothal takes back the rest of the planet.
– Tonight also contained hints stories that are to come and how Rebels connects to the original trilogy:[Spoiler (click to open)]The show flashes forward past Rogue One, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Lothal has been safe, and the Ghost crew's victory against the Empire caused them to never try to retake the planet. Some years have passed, and Sabine looks different with shorter hair. Zeb and Callus returned to Zeb's new homeworld with his people. Hera had a child of Kanan's named Jason, and fought in numerous battles, including the Battle of Endor. Rex did too. Sabine promised to not let Ezra down before he disappeared, watching over Lothal for him, but she didn't fully understand what he meant for a long time. Ezra has still not returned from his jump to Hyperspace. Sabine then decides that she has to go find him and turns to see an older Ahsoka greeting her. The two of them set off to bring back Ezra.
– This raises many questions, including some for the next animated series:
[Spoiler (click to open)]After years of questions about what would happen to these characters if they weren't around during the original trilogy... most of them were. Ezra has been missing the whole time, but Ahsoka, pupil of Darth Vader, father of heroes Luke and Leia Skywalker, has (apparently) been around this entire time. But where did Ezra disappear to? What trick did Kanan teach him? Where is Rex? Will Ahsoka ever meet the original trilogy characters, and what has she been up to this whole time? Will she and others be main characters in the next animated series? Or will this story be wrapped up somewhere else? Will any of this connect to the sequel trilogy? And most importantly... does this mean Ahsoka is finally in the clear to get her own movie?
– A very important character from the EU was namedropped in the finale by Thrawn: [Spoiler (click to open)]Gillad Pellaeon. Gillad is a close ally of Thrawn's and essentially his star commander and right hand man in some cases. After the Empire fell and became the Imperial Remnant in the far reaches of space in the EU, Gilad became its leader. It could just be a name drop that canonizes the character, but it could be hinting at a future appearance in something, series, book, or not.
– Fans got to go to Lucasfilm last week and see some of the last episodes of Rebels.
– Lucasfilm's next animated series is said to be set after Return of the Jedi.
