Who did and didn't donate to the #TimesUp fund?

There is a GoFundMe set up by Hollywood stars to support the legal defenses of sexual assault, abuse and harassment victims in the workplace. These are all the listed donations from $2,000,000 to $150 - if your fave celeb isn't listed, then they didn't donate or they donated less than $150 (because that's when my computer started glitching and I had to exit the window). I've bolded the names of men to show just how few of them there are.

Tessa Thompson clarifies comment she made about Lena Dunham's involvement with Time's Up

Full statement:

“I sometimes lack finesse in navigating social media. Hard to discuss issues with nuance there. A response I made to comments on an Instagram became fodder for a piece that I believe was designed to create conflict where there isn’t any,” Thompson wrote in a statement posted to Twitter. “It’s perhaps more complex than that. But I, in no way, want to diminish Lena Dunham and her work, her voice, and her importance. We have spoken and she knows my heart. I feel a responsibility to women that have sometimes felt ignored, dismissed, and underrepresented. They are my beacons. I regret that my words were misinterpreted to distract from the most important thing: The Time’s Up campaign is for everyone, in all capacities, contributions big and small. It doesn’t belong to any one. It is for us all. The beauty of this huge collaboration has been a group of countless committed people who have come together for a shared purpose. To create change. And it is such a powerful thing. I stand, humbled, with everyone involved. Linked not ranked."

This is a follow-up to an Instagram comment she had made, saying that Lena wasn't present for any of the planning Time's Up did, and that her presence at one of their photo op's "was a surprise to us all." The post has now been deleted.

The American Idol reboot won't have bad auditions, judges are determined to find a star

The American Idol reboot had a panel at the TCA press tour where they answered questions about the show.

Neither the judges nor the producers onstage could name a single winner from the last few seasons.

Luke Bryan said that just motivates the judging panel "Because there are a few years where you don't remember those contestants, we don't want it to go that way. We want it to go right back to what it was known for."

Katy Perry explained: "Literally, we are wasting our time if we are not finding another star,"

They also explained that Idol's classic bad auditions wouldn't be making their return and they're looking for humor without the exploitation.

Will this show make it a full season?

Justin Timberlake's Lead Single is a Flop

Justin Timberlake's new single "Filthy" is a flop. It has failed to be No. 1 on itunes for a single full day since its release.

He has been blocked by Bruno Mars. Bruno Mars' single is his fifth single off of a year-old CD, while "Filthy" is Justin's lead single.

Justin's new single's music video has horrible views with only 15 million views on it's 5th day of release. Bruno's fifth single has 45 million views in the same period. For lead single comparisons, Taylor Swift's lead single had over 160 million views in the same period.

Industry experts thought Justin would have no problem debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but early projections for next week's Billboard Hot 100 have Justin debuting at Number 8.

The View rips Ivanka Trump about her Oprah praise

The View rips Ivanka Trump for praising Oprah Winfrey's speech at the Golden Globes this past weekend. The panel doesn't understand how you can support an endeavor such as Times Up when her father has received allegations of sexual misconduct by 19 women. The View also question what has she done for women during her father's administration. Joy states where is the logic of believing on this set of women as in Times Up but not the accusers of your father. Whoopi's counter argument is that she just likes the speech.

Other things talked about by the panel was Trump not knowing the national anthem while at the Alabama vs. Georgia game, should presidents get mental health exams, and do Americans really want Oprah as president. Lady Bird's Greta Gerwig is on The View talking about the film and their win at the Golden Globes.

If you didn't know Sara Haines gave birth to beautiful baby girl during the break for the The View while she is on the maternity leave, the show opted to have different guests as part of the panel. Today's guest host was Ashley Graham she talks about her own #MeToo moment, working with Terry Richardson, judging America's Next Top Model, and fashion for plus-sized women.

Alan Cumming to play first gay lead in a US network drama series with 'Instinct'

Synopsis from youtube: Dr. Dylan Reinhart is a former CIA operative who’s created a quieter life for himself as a professor and author of a best-selling book on abnormal behavior. But when tenacious and resourceful NYPD detective Lizzie Needham approaches him to help her solve a serial killer case, he taps into his old skill set and reaches out to a CIA friend who has access to invaluable top-secret intelligence. As Dylan gets lured back into the adrenaline filled world of law enforcement, he and Lizzie realize that together they make the perfect team.

* Set to air on March 11th.

* Based on 'Murder Games' by James Patterson,

* Diverse cast includes Naveen Andrews, Whoopi Goldberg and Sharon Leal.

* Reinhart's husband Tracy is played by Daniel Ings. (not in trailer, but credited as main cast)

Cumming has been keen to praise CBS for taking a chance on a gay lead, especially in the Trump era. “I applaud everyone at CBS for having the courage to put that on, in the climate that might not be the best time to do it… the President is actively condoning, by his silence, violence and persecution against the LGBT community.” He adds, “I think it’s the perfect time and needs to be done.. it’s all that more important we should have a character with a healthy same-sex marriage.”

new NBC series Rise, based on a true story, has straightwashed its lead character

Jason Katims wrote his new NBC series Rise after being inspired by Michael Sokolove's book "Drama High: The Incredible True Story of a Brilliant Teacher, a Struggling Town, and the Magic of Theater." Per the book, Lou Volpe is a closeted teacher who staged a production of "Spring Awakening" at a high school in a blue-collar town. In the show, Lou Mazzuchelli (Josh Radnor) isn't closeted and will not be coming out.

On the TCA press tour, Katims says he changed the main character's sexuality to be able to connect with the story (okay, dude) but also that he doesn't want to "shy away from issues of sexuality." He says that "Rise" will still have LGBT stories and that the show has a trans character and another character who struggles with his sexuality. Guess Katims figured that filled the quota or something.

"Rise" also stars Rosie Perez and Moana's Auli'i Cravalho. The show is set to air in March.

After Being Exposed by Tessa Thompson, "Lena Dunham" Donates to Time's Up + Responds

Lena Dunham, who called Aurora Perrineau (who accused Girls' writer Murray Miller of rape) a liar, has inserted herself in the Time's Up movement against sexual harassment. She was spotted in the above pic (posted on insta by Laura Dern) among other Time's Up activists.

After being exposed on instagram by Tessa Thompson for not actually doing any of the work or showing up for the meetings and just randomly appearing for the photoshoot (and by ONTD for not even having donated), Lena Dunham responded:

"When you've had this job for as long as I have, which is seven or eight years now, and you've caused some mayhem at times, the internet doesn't necessarily have the same power it used to. I just feel so lucky that I've gotten to be a part of so many amazing moments and movements in my career. I feel really at peace with the fact that there are moments where you're the hero, moments where you're the villain and moments where you're magic and moments where you're less magic. It's a journey that has strengthened me in ways that are really, really powerful."

A donation in her name of $15k has just appeared on the Time's Up GoFundMe. When you click on her name, though, it appears the donation has actually been made from Amy Schumer's profile. A donation in the name of Jenni Konner (Girls writer, also defended Miller), was made right after and also redirects to Schumer's profile. This is NOT happening when you click on any of the other donations. So what is the truth?

And by the way, still no apology to Aurora.

Exec Producer Lauren Shuler Donner says accused rapist TJ Miller will remain in Deadpool 2

In an interview with Fred Topel of RottenTomatoes.com, longtime producer of the X-Men franchise Lauren Shuler Donner was asked if TJ Miller, who had been accused of violently raping a woman when they were in college (see this ONTD post), would be replaced or excised from Deadpool 2, where he plays the appropriately named Weasel. This is her answer: “We’re in the final editing. I don’t think so.” When asked if Miller might be in future installments of the franchise, she said that's up to the studio.

There are quite a few other sexual predators associated with the X-franchise as well. And bless Mr. Topel for bringing them up!

On Bryan Singer, who directed most of the X-Men films, Donner said, “Listen, I love Bryan, but Bryan has a lot of demons. Bryan has some problems, and Bryan needs to take care of his personal problems. That’s all I can say.”

On Bret Ratner, whom Ellen Page accused of subjecting her to homophobic and sexual abuse on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand (see this ONTD post), Donner takes a different tack, “I back [Ellen] up 100 percent. Absolutely. He’s horrible. I’m aware he’s very demeaning to women, extremely demeaning to women, myself included. Yes, I was aware. Anybody that’s female, he’s demeaning."

David Harbour doesn't know what his #TimesUp badge stands for

During an interview with ABC’s Laura Spencer on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, actor David Harbour (Sheriff Jim Hopper on Stranger Things) was asked what “Time’s Up” meant to him. “Real quick,” Spencer said to Harbour, dressed in all black and a Time’s Up pin on his lapel. “Time’s Up on blank.”

“Uhhhh,” Harbour said. “I mean. Time’s Up on, umm...like, women not getting the respect that they deserve in the workplace. I think Time’s Up on women not getting the respect that they deserve in the workplace.”

Harper's magazine to allegedly attack the women behind the "Sh*tty Men in Media" list

In November of 2017,several anonymous women started a Google doc on Reddit and Twitter called "Shitty Men in Media." The list soon went viral, naming numerous influential men in the media who are alleged sexual harassers, predators, and assailants.

Now, Harper's magazine is allegedly planning a major article doxxing and attacking the credibility of the female accusers behind the list. The author of the piece is said to be noted rape apologist Katie Roiphe.

The rumor about the hitpiece first appeared on Twitter and is apparently credible. Feminist writer Nicole Cliffe has encouraged writers who have articles with Harper's Bazaar to pull their pieces from the magazine, even offering cash to reimburse their fees.

Female writers like Roxane Gay, Jennifer Weiner, Maureen Johnson, and Jessica Valenti are urging Harper's to kill the piece.

Bojack Horseman Reruns to Air on Cable?

In an extremely rare move for an original Netflix series, the rerun rights to this animated show are being shopped around to cable buyers. In the early days of producing their original programming, Netflix didn't lock up global rights on their shows so Tornante, a production company for Bojack, was able to retain off-network rights.

“I’m very proud of ‘BoJack Horseman.’ Who knew a washed up sitcom star, who happens to be a horse, would drive the best reviews of any television show or movie in which I have been involved in my career? This business is all about who you work with creatively. Thank goodness (creator) Raphael Bob-Waksberg walked through my door," said Michael Eisner, the head of Tornante.

Even though it's unlikely that other Netflix shows will follow, the article speculates that the sale of these rights will be watched closely to see the value of an original Netflix show in the wider TV market.

“In an era when addictive, laugh-out-loud comedies are in short supply, ‘BoJack Horseman’ delivers what cable networks have been missing,” said Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein who are the chiefs of the distribution company Debmar-Mercury.
