"You can't shut down a movie set—it's $2 million a day halted—even though insurance covers it. We usually fight through the injuries. As long as your face looks OK, they don't care and they want you to keep shooting anyway."

Star Trek Discovery's European press tour continues: Sonequa and Jason hit The One Show


Sonequa Martin-Green and Jason Isaacs guested The One Show to promote Star Trek: Discovery. About halfway through they are joined by Bryan Adams who reveals he was asked to be part of the show but it fell through, and near the end of the video some nerds sing "Summer of '69" in Klingon and the cringe is real.

Jo Brand silences all-male panel on Have I Got News for You




#BRITSPLAINED: To give you some context background to this video: basically, a "dirty dossier" about UK Parliament was recently published in newspapers, describing in detail inappropriate behaviour and sexual harassment by politicians in the House of Commons.

The subject came up on the panel show Have I Got News For You (a topical weekly quiz) and being an all-male panel the guests and regulars began acting like complete tossers with one describing a Tory MP taking his personal trainer as "not high level crime" - completely missing the point, Ian Hislop.

Jo Brand gave the side eye to end all side eyes and painstakingly went on to explain: ‘It doesn’t have to be high-level for women to feel under siege in somewhere like the House of Commons … for women, if you’re constantly being harassed, even in a small way, that builds up and that wears you down.’ The audience seemed to be on the same wavelength judging by the amount of applause that followed.

Tolkien Estate and Warner Bros TV shopping Lord of the Rings TV series



J.R.R. Tolkien's estate in conjunction with Warner Bros. TV are shopping a TV series based on The Lord of the Rings novels.

The package is said to be the biggest ever for a TV series. Any network interested in the project will have to pay $200 – $250 million to acquire the rights. That is before the cost for development, cast salaries and production.

The project has been pitched to Amazon, Netflix and HBO, with Amazon, who has been looking to launch a big fantasy series for some time now, is said to be the frontrunner for the project. HBO, who is developing multiple spin-offs for Game of Thrones which will end in 2019, passed on the project.

Brendan Gleeson directs short film starring his sons




Filming has just finished for Brendan Gleeson directorial debut. The short film called Psychic is written by Brendan Gleeson's son Rory Gleeson and stars Brendan Gleeson himself and Brendan Gleeson's other two sons Domhnall Gleeson and Brian Gleeson. The short is also produced by the rumored girlfriend of Brendan Gleeson's son Juliette Bonass. There is no futher info if anyone else on Brendan Gleeson's family is working on the project but there is still time in post-production.

The short movie is about a retired psychic who is forced out of retirement by his sons and taken on a tour.
