Mila Kunis is not staying quiet. She's not backing down. She's not compromising. Not anymore. https://t.co/Fqp2mYEKXp— USA TODAY Life (@usatodaylife) November 4, 2016
-In an essay at A Plus Magazine Mila Kunis writes about how she was told by a producer that she'd "never work in this town again" if she didn't pose semi-nude in a magazine to promote a movie.
-Mila has formed her own production company.
-Knows she's lucky to be able to stop compromising but that most women can't and wants to speak up for them.
While for many people growing up with Disney films is a standard part of childhood this isn't the case in Alicia Keys' household. Keys has in fact banned her sons - Egypt, 6, and Genesis, 10 months - from watching Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
"I don’t like [my sons] watching it. It’s totally sexist, misogynistic — she’s cleaning for seven dwarfs,” she said in a recent interview. “There’s nothing wrong with a woman who chooses to stay at home with her family, it’s a hard-ass job, but it’s the way it’s spoken about.”

Earlier this week Babyclon, a company which specializes in making those super realistic silicone reborn dolls, unveiled the latest creation to their line... Na'vi babies. Shockingly they have been incredibly well received and demand seems to be high even though they are selling these for nearly $1,900 a piece.

Finally on to the important stuff.
De Niro kept asking Schwarzenegger if he was voting for Trump and said that "if you're supporting Trump, I want nothing do with you", after he refused taking a picture with him.
He also added that if you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem.
On Oct. 8 Schwarzenegger tweeted that he would not be voting for Trump, but hasn’t made clear for whom he'll be voting.
ontd, would you refuse to take a picture with someone over politics?
I can't decide who is more absurd: Lena Dunham or Jill Stein. pic.twitter.com/ZXgu0wm74F— Sarah A. Harvard (@amyharvard_) November 6, 2016
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Lena writes:
"When I was 22 I fell in love with an older guy. He had a girlfriend but we still had sex, just often enough for me to think he loved me too. So I devised a plan: I would stay single until he was available. I would just tough it out and be ready whenever. But after he and his girlfriend broke up, he got a different girlfriend. We kept having sex. Then he got another girlfriend. We had sex slightly less often. He kept girlfriends, and I kept waiting, and it took me way too long to realize I was alone and only getting alone-er. That's basically your vote for Jill Stein. Cuz she'll be fine doing what she's always done. And you'll have Trump as a president."
The director recently tried to explain the casting choice and own up to the whitewashing, and Variety has now spoken to several Asian actors and Asian visibility groups regarding the controversy.
- Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA) argued that an Asian woman could've easily been cast instead of Tilda. MANAA’s former president Guy Aoki also noted that whitewashing of Asian comic book characters has happened before, for example: The Mandarin (Guy Pearce) in 'Iron Man' and Talia al Ghul (Marion Cotillard) in 'The Dark Knight Rises'
- Benedict Wong, who’s also in the movie, defended the casting, praising two strong female leads in the movie.
- Kelly Hu (X2, Arrow) said the whitewashing is a shame, and that with movies going global these days, Asians making up a big part of the population, it should reflect on Hollywood as well.
- Lewis Tan (Iron Fist) says he’s not the biggest fan of the casting choice, can see why they switched it up, but doesn’t agree that the role would be too stereotypical.
-They ask her if the show is fixed and they ask her who she thinks should have gone home instead of her

i really object to some of the choices. like, Dances With Wolves, seriously? they could have included Dance Me Outside or Frozen River, which are far superior... but Smoke Signals is literally one of my favorite films ever, i love it so much. and i'll forever have a crush on Adam Beach as Victor!! <3
anyway, Native American film & book recs?
