Tribune's WGN Drops the CW in Chicago



-CW & Tribune closed new deal where the network will be carried by Tribune stations across 25% of the country (including NY and LA)
-in Chicago the CW will change from WGN-TV to Fox TV Station's WPWR beginning September 1st
-WGN Chicago is very sports focused (plays Cubs, Sox, Bulls, & Blackhawks games throughout year) - has led to a lot of preemptions for the CW due to scheduling or WGN airing games on another local station
-WGN TV is now independent (will air more sports and local programming)

Justin Bieber goes on a long rant about the BBMAs


I don't know about these award shows.. No disrespect to anybody at any of the shows or the people running it. Nothing but love for you guys and your support. But I don't feel good when I'm there nor after. I try to think of it as a celebration but can't help feeling like people are rating and grading my performance. A lot of people in the audience there to be seem worried about how much camera time they will get or who they can network with. When I'm doing a regular show I feel they are there for the right reasons and to strictly have a good time! But these award shows seem so hollow. I get the premise is to award people for their accomplishments, but is it really? Because when I look in the audience I see a bunch of fake smiles so that when the camera hits them they look happy. Sure there are people truly proud of others so I don't want to knock them I'm just looking at the vast majority. I just think to myself if I'm living my purpose I want the reward to be fulfillment. I'm getting awarded for the things that I'm doing and not for who I am which is understandable I know it would probably be hard to calculate and award someone's spirit lol. But When I do get these awards the temptation of putting my worth in what I do is so hard to fight!!!I am privileged and honored to be recognized by my peers in but in these settings I can't feel the recognition. There's an authenticity missing that I crave! And I wonder does anybody else.. Sorry not sorry about grammar it's not my strong point

Gaga in studio with Bloodpop & Kevin Parker



Mark Ronson, who is producing Gaga's new record, shared a photo showing Gaga and the Tame Impala (Same ol' mistakes) frontman, Kevin Parker, working behind a keyboard. Also in the picture is producer Bloodpop, who recently scored a U.S. number one single with Justin Bieber's "Sorry" that he co-produced with Skrillex. Ronson captioned the photo writing simply, "Illusion" which fans believe could be a hint at a track title.

Ronson has been working on Gaga's yet-untitled album since November. In a recent interview with Charlie Rose he revealed that the record they are making is "very honest, authentic, analog."

Gaga is also rumored to also be working with Giorgio Moroder & Redone on LG5

Taylor & Her Minions Getting Death Threats Via Twitter, LAPD Investigating




  • A twitter troll has been harassing Taylor Swift and several members of her squad (Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevigne and Jamie King) with death threats.

  • The troll also sent Chrissy Teigen a Dm saying "I am going to enjoy killing your friends".

  • LAPD is investigating. They have subpoenaed Twitter but so far have found nothing about the troll's identity.

-Aloompa compiled user schedule data from the Top 50 Music Festival Apps in 2015.
-They in turn used that data and created a scoring system that measured the relative demand of artists throughout 2015.
-32 million people go to at least one music festival in the United States every year. Most of those people are Millennials (14.7 milion).
-31% of Millennials use their phones for half the festival or longer and 15% say they never touch their phones.
-EDM led all genres with 31% of all the artists followed by Country and Pop.

Krysten Ritter: "Girls Can Sell Toys!"




  • Krysten Ritter was at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert talking about Jessica Jones (the show collected its Peabody Award this saturday).

  • Stephen mentions how the show has an important cultural impact because it talks about serious subjects and also mentions the criticism about the MCU being a sausagefest.

  • He then goes on to tell her about the recent rumours about how Iron Man 3's original villain was supposed to be a woman, but someone at Disney said it would be hard to sell toys of a female villain so they changed it up to a man.

  • Krysten replied: "I didn't know that! Girls can sell toys!"

  • She proceeded to say that she was sure that Jessica Jones' action figures would sell huge and she would try to make some calls after that interview to make it happen.

San Diego Gay Men's Chorus humiliated at baseball game; team apologizes for "unintentional" error

In honor of Pride Night, the San Diego Padres invited the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus to sing the national anthem before their 5/21 game against the Dodgers. This is what happened:


In case you can't watch, the video shows that instead of the regular accompanying audio track, they played a recording of a woman singing solo. The chorus members didn't get a chance to sing and had to depart the field to heckles/jeers from some fans.

The Padres issued an apology, claiming that there was no malice behind the mistake but that they had terminated their relationship with a third-party contractor and taken disciplinary action against the employee who let the mistake happen:


Openly gay and former Padres player Billy Bean chimed in:


Bob Lehman, the chorus' executive director, isn't buying the Padres' excuses, saying, "Somebody didn't know how to press the stop button? I couldn't believe a professional organization like that didn't know what to do."

Flash Forward Reunion? - Gabby Union Wants John Cho To Guest Star On 'Being Mary Jane'!




About a week ago Gabrielle Union tweeted about discussing John Cho Flash Foward and with Chris Bosh. Union suggested that John Cho guest star on her TV programme 'Being Mary Jane' as Mary Jane's love interest. Cho promply responded saying he was up for it . It's not clear if John has ever seen an episode of Being Mary Jane (much like most of ONTD).

Gabby followed up on a fans tweet saying this should happen!

Little Mix concert review: Missing the X-factor in Australia; Perform in a half empty venue



- The girls of Little Mix had a concert at Olympic Park, in Australia, and there were nowhere near as many speakers as usual and curtains hid the back half of the room.

-They and their team obviously overestimated their popularity in Australia. The performed in a room they cannot half-fill, they did their best with a production evidently downsized.

- Little Mix perform to a backing track and, in lieu of a live band, they have four acrobatic, muscular male dancers, one for each of "the pneumatic supervixens to thrust against."

-Little Mix's creditable success sustaining a career three albums beyond winning The X Factor, not enough Aussies know them well enough to love them and, by proxy, their tunes.

- In a set in which they perform every original single they have released, there still isn't much resembling the kind of bona fide pop classic you'd put on your favourite playlist.

-  The writer final note: "A show for the fans? Sure. But there's a good reason there weren't that many of them present on this night."

Whoopi Goldberg producing show about transgender models



Whoopi Goldberg is producing a TV series called "Strut" for the Oxygen channel about the world's first modeling agency exclusively for transgender models, Slay Model Management. The series is produced by One Hoe Productions and will premiere later this year.

Goldberg issued this statement about the show: "This show is important right now, because for all of the positive advances the community has made and continues to make, transgender is still a hot-button word that gets people hysterical. People tend to focus on the stereotype instead of the person, and this series will give viewers a unique opportunity to spend time with real people who are struggling with the same challenges we all face as we make our way through the world. You may even be surprised to discover that you have been seeing and interacting with transgender men and women in ways you didn’t even realize!"

Angelina Jolie is going to be a professor at the London School of Economics



According to The Guardian, Angelina Jolie is going to be a visiting professor at the London School of Economics next year.

She's going to be teaching a Master's class about women, peace, and security.

Her statement: "It is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women's rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict. I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students, as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations."

Kris Jenner says she's going to change her surname back to Kardashian



In a deleted scene of KUWTK, Kris tells Khloe that she's planning on going back to being a Kardashian.

Khloe then asks, "Why? You haven't been that in over 24 years."

Kris says, "I was that before you were that. I was the original Kardashian."

Khloe then says that's bizarre and asks why she doesn't go back to her maiden name and if she doesn't think it's insulting to Kylie and Kendall, but Kris says that her maiden name "just doesn't sound right" and that "if Bruce can change his name to Caitlyn, I think I'm good."
