NBA Playoffs Round 2: The Night of the Guards

The Toronto Raptors held on to win Game 5 against the Miami Heat 99-91. DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry finally got their powers back from the Monstars woke up and led the Raptors to victory with DeRozan's 34pts and Lowry's 25pts, 10reb, and 6ast.

In a tight game from start to finish, the Golden State Warriors were able to defeat the Portland Trailblazers 125-121 to take the series and move onto the Western Conference Finals. The Splash Brothers led the way for the Warriors with Klay Thompson's 33pts plus his defense on Damian Lillard and Steph Curry's 29pts and 11ast.

SOURCE

Hats off to the Blazers and their fans. They play one heck of a series and fought hard to the very end. They have a great fanbase and home crowd as well. A lot about the current Blazers reminds me of the Warriors a couple years back. I'm glad the series is over though, the Warriors need their rest. I hope Bogut and Draymond are alright. Hopefully the Spurs can win tonight to buy them two more days of rest. I think the Heat/Raptors will go 7 cause neither of them have played that well. The ECF is just a formality at this point, these two teams aren't getting past the Cavs.

Robert Downey Jr. loved "Happy Endings" so much that he hired Adam Pally.

- Adam Pally was hired by RDJ to built an online presence because he loved 'Happy Endings' so much.
- Texts him at 4:00AM saying 'Hey, Big Papa here'.
- He loved the show so much that hired him for Iron Man 3 as well.
- Adam Pally is not a fan of him calling himself 'RDJ'.
- RDJ uses a maternity dress as everyday clothes.
- Fun Fact, Civil War's Russo bros. directed most of Happy Endings episodes.

Kylie and Tyga broke up, it's supposedly permanent this time

  • Happened days before the Met Ball last week, they didn't walk the red carpet together (her decision).
  • He was only invited because of her.
  • Kylie was mad that Toga had the nerve to go to the Met Ball and she's mad at herself that she didn't have him blacklisted.
  • Tuna took his mom and a model to Mother's Day lunch and he's not telling his friends whether she's his new girlfriend.
  • The breakup was acrimonious.
  • There's no going back this time, for real! According to "sources."

Jack Black joins Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in #JUMANJI reimagining

The Baywatch and Jumanji star announced the casting on Instagram: "IT'S OFFICIAL: An ol' friend is ready to play in the world of #JUMANJI... JACK (mf'n) BLACK.

Been a big fan of his work over the years. A brilliant actor who I'm confident will turn in a performance of a lifetime for JUMANJI. (when we reveal his character you'll understand;). In our reimagining of the story of JUMANJI, Jack brings that rare balance of cool with funny and edge with childlike joy.
The "Jumanji Breakfast Club" is coming together.. myself, Jack (mf'n) Black and Kevin Hart.

Two big roles left. One bad ass girl. One semi-sorta bad ass dude. Who will they be... this is gonna be fun.

Mark Ronson: Gaga's new music is authentic & analog

Mark Ronson says Lady Gaga's new album is going to be her most authentic yet. In a recent interview with Charlie Rose, Ronson, who began working with Gaga on her highly-anticipated album in November, praised Gaga for her talent and explained the direction they are taking with LG5.

"I've been working for the past few months with Lady Gaga on her upcoming record and I'm just blown away by her talent, her voic. She's a Muso at heart. She's the happiest when she's sitting at a piano barking orders at the drummer, and I don't think that's the side of her the world has seen. They've seen the massive pop singles, tours, and dance numbers, so it's really great to make this very honest, authentic, analog kind of record with her."

Earlier this year, Ronson confirmed that he is working on material for Gaga's fifth, yet-untitled album, due out within the next year. Mark is known for his work with Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, Adele, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney and many others.

Woody Allen Compares Ronan Farrow's Abuse Essay To A Bad Review

Allen has responded today to both the joke and Farrow's essay.

Joke: "I am completely in favor of comedians making any jokes they want," and that he is "a non-judgmental or [non]-censorship person" and that it would "take a lot to offend me."

Essay: says he didn't read it as he doesn't read anything about him, not even interviews he does. And that he said everything he had to say about that whole issue in The New York Times. Then compares it to a bad review: "I made the decision I think five years ago never to read a review of my movie. Never read an interview. Never read anything, because you can easily become obsessed with yourself. [It’s] a bad idea to consume yourself with this stuff. You should do your work, not call up and find out how the grosses are, how is the film doing, how are the reviews. Forget about all that. Just work."

Based on Philip Roth’s late novel, "Indignation" takes place in 1951, as Marcus Messner (Logan Lerman), a brilliant working class Jewish boy from Newark, New Jersey, travels on scholarship to a small, conservative college in Ohio, thus exempting him from being drafted into the Korean War. But once there, Marcus’s growing infatuation with his beautiful classmate Olivia Hutton (Sarah Gadon), and his clashes with the college’s imposing Dean, Hawes Caudwell (Tracy Letts), put his and his family’s best laid plans to the ultimate test.

Blake Lively Rips Cannes for Controversial Woody Allen Rape Joke

    source

“I think any jokes about rape, homophobia or Hitler is not a joke. I think that was a hard thing swallow in 30 seconds. Film festivals are such a beautiful, respectful festivals of film and artists and to have that, it felt like it wouldn’t have happened if it was in the 1940s. I can’t imagine Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby going out and doing that. It was more disappointing for the artists in the room that someone was going up there making jokes about something that wasn’t funny.”

“But it wasn’t just Woody. He made three homophobic comments in a row. A Hitler joke. And a rape joke. It was all within 30 seconds … What on Earth was happening? It was really confusing.”

    on Ronan Farrow's new essay:

“I came home and went to bed at whatever time we finished. I haven’t been in it, so I don’t want to speak on something I haven’t read. I think that’s dangerous. It’s definitely something that being at the festival, the media these days, you come to a film festival about film and people talk about all different types of things. You know? That can be definitely tricky to navigate, I’m sure. I don’t want to speak about something I haven’t read.”

    Interview snippets:

On what she thought she'd grow up to be:
"I've always loved animals. I rode horses for 10 years, so I thought I was going to be a professional horseback rider and then a vet. I used to play these vet video games."

    On her clothes:
"Most days I don't care what I wear. You'll find me in yoga pants, a T-shirt, and sneakers almost every day. My job is to wear something nice when I work, so I enjoy doing it then. But when I don't have to, I'd rather just wear something comfortable."

On if she gets followed by paparazzi all the time:
"Yes, they wait outside my house every single day. It's so crazy to me because it's stalking at this point. When I say every day, I'm not kidding. I don't understand how that is legal. There should be some kind of Sunday off or something."

On whether she's mean to her fans:
"I'd rather someone around me be mean to them. [Laughs.] I'm always trying to be nice to them, but sometimes it's hard because you're human, and sometimes you have a bad day. Like if you're getting into your car and you don't say hi, all of a sudden you're so mean. There is a balance, for sure."

On if new people she meets are distant because of who she is:
"Yeah. Some people are. I'm not super open to new people. I have a small group of people I trust. I'm very intuitive, so I'm good at feeling out how people are, like if they have bad intentions. Sometimes I'm very closed off, which annoys me, but I think it's for the best."

Why we must not give up on Azealia Banks

In aftermatch of yesterday's string of twitter feuds, ONTD's favourite person to hate on shared an insightful think piece on why her mental breakdown is important on her infamous twitter account (which has since been deleted).

The post by Zizi Foster-Blue proposes that instead of being mad at Azealia Banks and her problematic choice of words, we should be more concerned about her MENTAL HEALTH when it is very clear that she NEEDS help. She argues that the lack of attention given to her mental health is due to how the media plays up the Angry Black Woman trope, which does not allow the public persona of a black women to be associated with any hint of vulnerability. This is because everything the angry Black bi*ch says and does is taken as evidence of how animalistic/uncivilised/unpredictable/uncontrollable she is and used as an example of how society doesn't need and shouldn't accept them.

    Collapse )

She concludes by pointing out how white society grinds down the self-esteem of Black women and then hangs them out for ther public crucifixion when they finally snap. In her own words:

"I truly believe that Azealia needs help and support and as PoC we owe it to her and to ourselves to protect that outside of the hideous white narrative that is trying to destroy her. When we abandon Black women like Azealia Banks we engage in the work of white supremacy."

ONTD should reflect upon how they are contributing to this hotmess tbh!!!!
