Current Internet Boyfriend & Thirst Inducing Singer-Songwriter Oscar Isaac
has been having a particularly lucrative year: 2015 gave us Ex Machina
, the movie in which Poe Dameron invited General Hux to his place to play with ONTD Queen BB-8; that film with the Tron guy in which he wore pink speedos and carried a small snowy white dog around, Mojave
; ONTD Best Film 2015 Nominee Star Wars: The Force Awakens
; and the subject of this post – HBO’s 1980s Yonkers political miniseries, Show Me A Hero
Furthermore, 2016 will see this actor (best known for wanting to discuss what gender truly is) boss Olivia Munn, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Fassbender, and British Soap Star Ben Hardy around in X-Men: Apocalypse.
The source and OP both agree that it is probably not half bad to be Oscar Isaac right now.
The cherry on top of this particularly Ice Cream Sundae year for Isaac would be to bring home a qt statuette, not unfortunately one of the ones named after him, but a Golden Globe, that he is nominated for in the long-winded category of ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television’ for the role of Nick Wasicsko in ‘Show Me A Hero’, real life mayor of Yonkers, NY, 1987-1989.
This six-hour HBO miniseries (co-starring Alfred Molina and Winona Ryder) is based on the non-fictional and totally real life book about real life Yonkers Mayor Wasicsko by author Lisa Belkin, and follows local politician then mayor Wasicsko’s struggle to bring low-income housing to a rich Yonkers neighbourhood in the ‘80s, an issue which divided the city across racial and class lines. Spoiler alert
to anyone googling: irl Wasicsko is not as visually appealing as Oscar Isaac, which will come as a shock to no one.( Collapse )Source1: Bustle, Thirsting Like The Rest of Us.Source 2: Paste Magazine Interview: Oscar Isaac on ‘America’s False Sense of Comfort’Happy Golden Globes Day, everyone!
