Get to know your new bae HTGAWM's Jack Falahee

He admits to prepping for the role by watching Legally Blonde (how else would one know what “mens rea” meant?) and spills on co-star Matt McGorry‘s (Orange Is the New Black) tactics for wooing the ladies. Did we mention he fought a boa constrictor? It is without reasonable doubt that you should keep your eye on this rising star, who went from waiting tables in New York City to starring in Shonda’s newest sensation, within a year.

VH1: Congratulations on the show being such a huge success! How does it feel?

Jack Falahee: You know, my dad called me this morning and he’s like, “Yeah, the show was on again last night, and I heard a lot of people watched it.” I think that knocked me down a peg. It’s pretty much the same still — but it’s good, it’s exciting. My family still thinks of me the same way, my friends still give me the same shit, so it’s not like anything has really changed.

Marvel Announces New Ongoing Comics!

Marvel Comics was very busy today at New York Comic Con, where they announced a number of new comic books as well as the end of a long time title.

The first announcement was that Hawkeye, launched by writer Matt Fraction and David Aja and concluding very soon, will be relaunched next year with Green Arrow writer Jeff Lemire making his Marvel debut and Ramon Perez on art duties.

Marvel’s first new title revealed, which should come as no surprise given the upcoming film, is Ant-Man from Superior Foes of Spider-Man writer Nick Spencer and artist Ramon Rosanas which will see Scott Lang as the titular hero.

Another new title announced was Silk, a new series focusing on the recently-introduced Cindy Moon who it was revealed was also bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his powers. “Supernatural” writer Robbie Thompson will pen the series with art by Stacey Lee. It will debut in February of 2015.

In addition, another spider-themed book was announced, as none other than the newly-created “Spider-Gwen” was revealed to be getting her own ongoing comic series. Set in an alternate universe from the “616″ Marvel U, Spider-Gwen takes place in a world where Gwen Stacy was bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez, who wrote and drew the Edge of Spider-Verse issue where she debuted, will return for the ongoing series.

Moving to the outer reaches of the Marvel U, it was also revealed that Guardian of the Galaxy Gamora will be getting her own solo comic series, making it the fourth “Guardians” spin-off title being published. The new comic will be written by Nicole Perlman, who co-wrote the script for the film version of Guardians of the Galaxy. It will debut in Spring 2015.

Jennifer Lopez supports Ben Affleck's new movie Gone Girl

Trip down Memory Lane: Bennifer picture post!

Jennifer Lopez went to see "Gone Girl" Saturday night and posted a picture of her feet up in the theater with the caption, "#GONEGIRL."

The exes, who called off their engagement in 2003 and eventually split in 2004, have long been on friendly terms.

In 2010, Lopez said she would watch a Ben Affleck movie: "Sure! Why not? I haven't seen him or talked to him in a while – our lives went in two very different directions. But I always wish him the best and I always thought he was a great person."

In 2012, Affleck told Rolling Stone the relationship wasn't something he felt apologetic about: "I made plenty of mistakes, don't get me wrong. I just don't view that as one of them. I've had pretty good serious relationships, and there it is."

Also that year, he told The Hollywood Reporter: "We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an e-mail saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great.' I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."

When Affleck won the Best Director prize at the Golden Globes, Lopez gave him a standing ovation: "It was a great movie. I was so happy for him. We went through a rough time at a certain point, and it was like we couldn’t get a break, and now to see him be successful and getting what he deserves for what he did made me feel really good. So it was a nice moment. It was nice to see him have that moment. I’m always rooting for him."

Dave Bautista To Play A Villain In Bond 24?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Dave Bautista, mega hot off his career making role as Drax The Destroyer in Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy, has bagged the role of HINX in the upcoming Bond 24!

Very cool news and couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Dave was one of the best things about Guardians Of The Galaxy. Bond is in for quite the challenge because Dave certainly has the physicality they're looking for and then some.

Bond 24 will begin filming on Dec 6th, with actor Daniel Craig reprising the role of James Bond for the fourth time. Director Sam Mendes, who was at the helm of the last installment, Skyfall, will be returning for the new film as well. Pinewood Studios in England will host the majority of the filming for Bond 24, though additional work will be done in Austria, Rome and possibly Morocco.

AHS renewed for fifth season + Gotham picked up for full season at FOX

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

On the heels of its record-breaking premiere, FX has renewed American Horror Story for a fifth season.

The fourth incarnation of the anthology series from Glee co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk has been picked up for another round of 13 episodes, the cable network announced Monday. Season five will return in October 2015.

Casting for the fifth season has not been announced, though Murphy remains hopeful that Jessica Lange will be back — in some capacity — despite the Emmy winner's public announcement that Freak Show would be her last.

Fox is staying put in Gotham. In a move that should come as no surprise, the network's fall breakout has scored a back order for additional nine episodes — bringing its freshman season to a full 22 episodes.

“Gotham debuted as one of the most buzzed-about shows of the fall, and with good reason," said Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman. "Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon have created an incredibly rich world, with characters that draw you in and a cast that brings to life these heroes and villains in a way we’ve never seen before. We are so excited to see where Bruno, Danny and the entire Gotham team take this story over the course of this season, and so thankful to all the fans who have embraced it this fall.”

Zach Galifianakis: the way Hollywood congratulates itself is gross

"It's confusing to me — all of this is confusing to me. They oversell it like we're curing cancer, you know what I mean?" he told The Hollywood Reporter at the New York Film Festival's closing-night premiere on Saturday, held at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. "I just think it can be gross sometimes, the way Hollywood congratulates itself all the time."

"I agree with what this movie says. I read it, and I'm like, 'Boy, he's taking swipes at everybody, but he's right.' So the truth trumps everything else," he said of the Alejandro G. Inarritu dramedy Birdman. "It's gotten a little out of hand — there's no culture in it. If people were writing about poets, mathematicians and all that, that would just move us forward quicker."

He later clarified, "Being a celebrity is shit — it's dumb, and I'm not interested in it [...] I like to be an actor, and that's it. The blurred lines are, I think, manmade. I think celebrity is a manmade thing; it's not innate in us. We have people telling us, 'We should pay attention to these people,' for all the wrong reasons, their personal lives and whatnot. … I'd rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime."

Keaton agreed, "Anyone can be a celebrity now; this is not a big deal anymore." while Edward Norton said, "The dog running into the wall is a bigger celebrity than any of us!"

Mark Bell, producer and member of LFO, has died

As The Black Dog have confirmed on Twitter, the producer has passed on, although full details of his death have yet to emerge.

A former teenage breakdancer, Bell was one half of seminal Warp Records act LFO – one of the most important of the ‘bleep-n-bass’ acts to emerge from the North of England in the early 1990s, and the group behind the still-classic 1991 LP Frequencies - an easy pick for one of the best electronic LPs on the 1990s.

Bell later went on to work extensively with Björk, collaborating on the bulk of her albums from 1997’s Homogenic onwards, and other notable collaborators include Depeche Mode (whose Exciter album he produced) and Deltron 3030.

Warp have confirmed that Bell died of complications following an operation.

Marvel Teases "Civil War #1" for Summer 2015

Since the release of Civil War in 2006, none of Marvel's events have come close to topping the one which saw Captain America and Iron Man go to war over the implementation of the Superhero Registration Act. Today, they revealed have released a new teaser accompanied solely by "Civil War #1 - Summer 2015". As you can see, Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-Man are all wearing their 2006 era costumes, so this doesn't appear to be a Civil War II. Are they going to re-release the series? Let a new creative team retell it? Attempt to cash in with a string of terrible What If? stories by Z-List writers and artists? We'll have to wait and see! What do you guys think?

Keanu Reeves might be interested in playing Doctor Strange, should the right situation present itself.

In an interview with Collider, Reeves responded to the online chatter that he should don the Eye of Agamotto. Essentially, Reeve's is apprehensive about signing any of the long-term contracts that Marvel studios is famous for. The last thing he wants, he suggested, is to be strapped to a future film that's not "up to a certain level. Like a good or great level."

However, Reeves also added, "I like the idea. I mean I go to those kinds of movies. I like superhero movies. I grew up on them and comics and graphic novels."

Olivia Thirlby and Nelsan Ellis join 'Stanford Prison Experiment'

“The Stanford Prison Experiment” has added a plethora of young up and comers, including Olivia Thirlby, “True Blood” star Nelsan Ellis, Tye Sheridan, “The Maze Runner” star Ki Hong Lee, Aussie actor Jame Frecheville and “Perks of Being a Wallflower” star Johnny Simmons.

Ezra Miller, Michael Angarano and Billy Crudup were previously cast as leads in the Kyle Alvarez-directed drama. Crudup plays Dr. Philip Zimbardo, the Stanford professor who recruited two dozen students as subjects of a psychological experiment that would be groundbreaking in terms of explaining situational behavior. Students who were given prison guard roles freely utilized their power in abusing prisoners, while “prisoner” students submitted to their roles without much question as well. Thirlby will play Zimbardo’s wife, while the other actors will play various students involved in the experiment.

fun fact: thirlby is 18 years younger than crudup. Yay for Ki Hong Lee getting more roles tbh

Downton Abbey season 5: eight unanswered questions from episode 4

As episodes of Downton go, the fourth of season five certainly didn’t disappoint. We had a proposal, a confession, a broken engagement, a massive row and a declaration (almost) of forbidden love.

But we were once again left with some mysteries…

What’s going on with Thomas Barrow?

I don’t like the look of this at all. The nasty servant returned from his trip with a greenish tinge to his pallor and a mysterious suitcase of medical equipment.

Now either he’s suffering from some hitherto unmentioned illness or he’s trying to cure himself of something, or parts of his character.
