Florida State suspends accused rapist Jameis Winston for half game for screaming obscenity on campus

What gets you suspended at Florida State? Not a rape accusation, which barely jeopardized quarterback Jameis Winston's Heisman campaign last year. But screaming an incendiary meme phrase on your college campus? That's a half-game suspension, buddy.

USA Today reports that Florida State University has suspended Winston for the first two quarters of the team's game against Clemson on Saturday for standing up on a table on the school's campus and shouting "Fuck her right in the pussy," a totally unfunny internet meme that originated as a hoax.

Back in April, he was suspended from the baseball team for stealing crab legs from a supermarket.

So, to recap: Being embroiled in a botched rape investigation? Win a Heisman. Shouting an offensive obscenity? You're outta there (temporarily).

2/5 Stars Album Review for Gaga & Bennett's "Cheek to Cheek"

It's the oldest trick in the book: Past-prime pop singer attempts to boost his or her relevance in the face of dwindling sales and hastily changing trends by commissioning the help of a hotter, more bankable artist. Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga's Cheek to Cheekis the latest product of such a collaboration—except I'm not referring to the octogenarian Bennett, who, after 60-plus years in the business, is selling more albums than ever before, but to Gaga, whose free-fall from the upper echelons of pop has been as precipitous as her rise was meteoric.

Despite her claims that she grew up listening to the jazz greats, Gaga comes off more as a dilettante than an aficionado on Cheek to Cheek, a collection of duets with the seasoned Bennett. (Between Madonna, Bowie, Motley Crue, and now Ella and Billie, it's hard to keep track of just how many posters adorned her bedroom walls as a child.) On songs like the Cole Porter standard "Anything Goes" and the title track, Gaga sounds like what she thinks a jazz singer should sound like; her performances are blatantly affected, marred by shouting and clichéd phrasing. She displays a total dearth of the vocal precision and enunciation that made her so-called idols the masters they were; her timbre on eden ahbez's "Nature Boy," for instance, is wildly inconsistent, shifting from soft and almost pleasant to parodic and comical, often within just a few short bars.

Bennett doesn't fare a whole lot better, his otherwise charming performances strained throughout. The pair's solo efforts, particularly Gaga's clumsy interpretation of Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life" and Bennett's surprisingly pitchy rendition of Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Lady," only serve to spotlight their shortcomings. The 88-year-old Bennett, who's managed to stretch his career into not just a second, but third act, obviously deserves some slack, but for a singer who isn't even 30, Gaga's voice is shockingly rough-hewn, especially on "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" and "I Won't Dance." Even when all that's required of her is cheeky, spoken repartee on "Goody Goody," her persistent vocal fry is insufferable. If not for the session musicians' top-notch work, including Joe Lacorno's virtuosic tenor sax solos, much of Cheek to Cheek, which drags at an economical 45 minutes, would sound like glorified karaoke.

Jane Lynch Rebuffed Grumpy Cat Voice Role After Winning Emmy

The 'Glee' star turned down the titular role in Lifetime's 'Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever'

According to sources, Glee star Jane Lynch was set to receive a rather significant paycheck to voice Grumpy Cat in the feline's upcoming TV movie, Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever on Lifetime.

But after Lynch landed an Emmy on Aug. 16 for outstanding reality host for Hollywood Game Night, she suddenly rebuffed the offer. For now, the voiceover part still is up for grabs.

A rep for Lynch could not be reached for comment.

I am assuming there is a post in the queue about Aubrey Plaza taking the role?

Grimes Calls Out Music Tabloids For Running Old News On Scrapped Album

Alternative-pop singer-songwriter Grimes has taken a swipe at music tabloids reporting on her latest album which the artist admitted "sucked" and threw out to begin working on from scratch.

The Canadian artist, whose real name is Claire Boucher, discussed the situation in an interview that was posted by the New York Times yesterday, with several music websites re-publishing the story in the time since.

But Boucher has played down the newsworthy nature of the story that's followed, calling out Pitchfork in particular for running a piece on something she claims has been known for months.

Looks like this album is still...a Go? Bless us with some new music and less headlines, girl!

TV Ratings Wednesday: How Did 'Red Band Society' and 'Mysteries of Laura' Premiere?

On NBC, the season finale of America’s Got Talent garnered a 2.3, down eight percent a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating for last year’s finale. The series premiere of the Mysteries of Laura earned a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating, up 62 percent from a 1.3 for the premiere of Ironside. Your predictions were way too pessimistic.

On FOX, Hell's Kitchen scored a 1.4, down 7 percent from a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating for last week’s premiere. The series premiere of Red Band Society notched a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating down 35 percent from a 2.0 for last season’s Glee premiere. Your predictions were far too optimistic .

On CBS, Big Brother earned a 2.2, down 8 percent from last week's 2.4 adults 18-49 rating. The season (and, in all probability, series) finale of Extant scored a 1.1, up 38 percent from last week's series low 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

Yikes Fox. This is gonna be a long, embarrassing TV season for them. Their only hope is Gotham at this point.

Iggy Azalea has the potential to be the world’s first real superstar female rapper

Iggy Azalea's dynamic set shows she has the potential to be the world’s first real superstar female rapper

Towards the end of a short but dynamic set, Iggy Azalea blinked into the spotlights, gushing gratitude in a soft speaking voice: “London, seeing all your beautiful faces, it’s an amazing end to an awful week.”

The Australian rapper has had a bit of a rough ride these past few days, filing a law suit in LA to stop an ex-boyfriend releasing an alleged sex tape backed by her own early demos. It may not have been the ideal circumstances in which to prepare for her first solo headline date since her astonishingly rapid rise to stardom this year. But perhaps it was just what the doctor ordered to blow all the negativity out of her system. Certainly, before we could get too misty eyed, Azalea was back on her high heeled boots, stalking the stage in a high cut geometric mini dress, aggressively proclaiming her invulnerability over deep electro bass and drum machine driven tracks with staccato hooks concocted from repeated samples of words like “pussy” and “bitch.”
With a personal retinue of pole dancers pulling erotic poses in swimsuits amid flashing coloured lights and blasts of dry ice, whilst the blonde and beautiful star wiggled her derriere and demanded we pay our respects, Azalea didn’t exactly come across as a shrinking violet.

‘Grey's Anatomy’ Cast Gets Prison Mean for ‘Orange Is the New Black’ Parody

Ellen Pompeo posts image of “Grey's” cast doing their best impressions of the characters from the Netflix prison drama.

The cast of ABC's “Grey's Anatomy” looked familiar, if a little off. Ellen Pompeo posted a photo to her WhoSay page with her costars doing their best impressions of the ladies from Netflix's “Orange Is the New Black.”

She gave it the caption “Blue is the new black,” as they rocked blue scrubs rather than the prison colors of the inmates at Litchfield Correctional Facility.

When asked by one fan on Twitter if this meant Pompeo watched the prison drama, Pompeo shot back that everyone should watch it. “Those girls are giving it,” she wrote.

Looking at pictures like this always sparks the imagination, as we start imagining crossovers, like a Litchfield inmate being sent to Seattle Grace for medical treatment, or trying to fathom how Pompeo's Meredith Grey would fare in prison.

She might surprise us, though we'd put our money on Chandra Wilson's Miranda Bailey or Sandra Oh's much-missed Cristina Yang over Dr. Grey any day of the week.

“Grey's Anatomy” returns to ABC for its 11th season on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET. There is no planned crossover with Netflix's “Orange Is the New Black.” *Cries*

What Grey's cast member would you like to see crossover to OITNB & be sent (or work) at Litchfield, ONTD? Who do you think would hook up in the on-call room at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital?

Gael García Bernal is interviewed by Elle

Mexican actor Gael García Bernal has been a longtime favorite for a big-screen Zorro reboot, which makes perfect sense: Dude is as rico suave as they come. Bernal, 35, broke out in Alfonso Cuarón’s celebrated 2001 road movie, Y Tu Mamá También, which established him as the neo-cool ambassador of Mexican cinema and attracted both Hollywood (he presented at the Oscars) and women (he reportedly dated Natalie Portman, twice). This fall, Bernal stars in Rosewater, the stirring true story of a Newsweek journalist wrongfully imprisoned in Iran for 118 days. Written and directed by The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart, it’s also the kind of politically charged, heed-the-message film Bernal has repeatedly chosen over more lucrative offers. Zorro rumors aside, he doesn’t seem interested in fame, money, or, for that matter, marriage. Bernal, who has two children with Argentine actress Dolores Fonzi, calls from Buenos Aires to explain why.

Your father worked as a director, and your mother is an actress. What was it like growing up near the stage?
Before anything, they were very young. My mom had me when she was 19 or 20. And my father was 22 or something. They were working on whatever they could, both of them aiming to be actors in theater.

You were a surprise, then?
No, no. I mean, one knows what one is doing, right? [Laughs] That depends on if you really want to play dumb.

Funny. Was it a bohemian childhood?
It was just incredible to be living the best version of The Phantom of the Opera, in a way. Me and my friends were sons and daughters of people who worked in this theater. We knew exactly what time the scene was where an actress that we fancied would come onstage. This was a very experimental theater—and sometimes those scenes involved being nude. We were completely transfixed.

Korean Show "My Love From Another Star" To Be Adapted For ABC

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
ABC is looking to Korean format My Love From Another Star for its next breakout hit.
The network has handed out a script commitment with a penalty attached to a remake of the Korean hit, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Based on the Korean format, My Love explores why a superhero has to save the world and asks why he can't save just one girl. ABC's take is described as epic supernatural love story about a world-famous pop star, Lark, and her anti-social neighbor, James, who happens to be from another planet. Disillusioned by the pettiness of human nature, and a resident of Earth for the past several hundred years, James has a centuries-old rule that he will never use his abilities to intervene in the lives of the people around him. But when he gets a premonition that the infuriatingly self-centered but compelling Lark is going to be murdered, James finds himself drawn into her chaotic life and falling deeply in love — just as he finally has the chance to return to his home in the stars.

George Clooney won't be paying for his lavish Italian wedding

It turns out George Clooney is a stingy, stickler for tradition when it comes to his upcoming wedding to Amal Alamuddin.

According to reports in US Weekly, the 53-year-old actor will not be footing the bill for the lavish affair set to take place in Venice in the coming days - the bride's parents are.

"Crazy enough her family is paying for most of it," a source told the tabloid who also let slip that Clooney's future in-laws also got a say when it came to where and when the wedding would take place.

Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin, an editor at Lebanese newspaper Al-Hayat, are believed to be "old fashioned with it comes to these things".

After a dinner at the exclusive Cipriani Hotel about 60 guests are expected to attend the wedding which will reportedly be held at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande where rooms for the night start at $1800. Opera singer Andrea Bocelli has reportedly been booked to perform, like he did at Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West earlier this year.

In the lead up the big day, the couple attended an event in Florence recently where the Oscar winner fawned over his fiancee during a speech on stage.

"I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much," he said.

While details of Alamuddin's wedding gown are being tightly guarded, the 37-year-old barrister is believed to be considering designs by Oscar de la Renta and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

The groom has been a little more overt in his wardrobe choice for the big day. An team from Giorgio Armani recently flew from the designer's Milan base to the former ER star's home on Lake Como to fit him and his groomsmen with suits for the wedding.

One of Clooney's business associates and husband of supermodel Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, may have tipped off the press about the date of the wedding when he was spotted flying to Italy with about 50 cases of Casamigos tequila earlier this week. The pair are joint owners of the alcohol brand.

Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio vow to help last 'Titanic' survivor

"Titanic" stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have pledged to help the last survivor of the sinking of the ocean liner.

The stars say they have thrown their support behind a fund that would subsidize Millvina Dean's nursing home fees.

Dean was 2 months old when the Titanic sank beneath the waves on the night of April 14, 1912.

She has been living at a nursing home in the English city of Southampton since she broke her hip about three years ago but has struggled to pay the fees.

In October she sold several Titanic mementoes to raise cash.

DiCaprio and Winslet said in a statement that they hoped Dean could rest easier knowing that her future was secure.

Lil’ Kim Confirms Iggy Azalea Collaboration

Lil’ Kim may hate Nicki Minaj more than Ms. Wallace and Foxy Brown combined, but one fellow emcee that she doesn’t have beef with is Iggy Azalea. The pair have been mutually supportive of each other since Iggy first hit the scene, so it was only a matter of time before they got into the studio together to record a collaboration.

In a new interview with Revolt TV to promote her Hard Core 2k14 mixtape, Kim confirmed that she’s set to do a track with both Iggy and T.I., but is still unsure just what to do with it.

“Iggy is my girl,” said Kim. “Her and I and T.I. are doing a track together. I don’t know if it’s gonna be for my album… We have other plans for it as well. I think we’re gonna do a double package type thing.”

Fingers crossed that the collaboration pops up on Iggy’s upcoming The New Classic re-release. If not, then we could be waiting forever to hear it considering how long Lil’ Kim usually takes to release new music.

The Trouble With Teen Wolf

Weak references to LGBT characters and storylines on TV aren't enough for millennial viewers.

When Teen Wolf debuted June 5, 2011, on MTV, many gay fans immediately zeroed in on the show’s queer appeal. Of course, any story dealing with werewolves would’ve found a home in the hearts of several LGBT fans — after all, this is a story about people forced to hide who they really are.

But Teen Wolf also flipped the objectification script by flaunting the buff bods of the boys in its cast at every opportunity, including numerous homoerotic locker room scenes, and then took it even further. Boys would flirt with boys as well as girls — most frequently by Stiles Stilinski (played by Dylan O’Brien). Before long, it became obvious that the creative minds behind Teen Wolf weren’t simply using queer elements to infuse the show with gay appeal, they were ramping up the gay appeal to court a young audience. And this audience had grown up with LGBT visibility in various forms.

The show existed in a world where homophobia was nonexistent — a groundbreaking concept, even in basic cable. The presence of out gay teen Danny Mahealani (played by Keahu Kahuanui) among the show’s cast of supporting characters was a monumental shift for a gay character on a TV series aimed at a young teen audience. Not because Danny was a part of the world, but because of the way every other character reacted to him. The straight characters on the series weren’t simply OK with the fact that Danny was gay. His sexuality was treated no differently than differences in eye color. Instead of being taunted by the star jock of Beacon Hills High — Jackson (played by Colton Haynes) — Danny was his best friend.

Tiny STANS OUT For Iggy Azalea: "I Think Iggy's Southern Accent Is Dope!"

Tiny sat down for an exclusive interview with VladTV, where she shared her thoughts on Iggy Azalea rapping with a southern accent instead of her native Australian accent. The Family Hustle star said she immediately noticed Iggy's believable southern twang in the studio, and quizzed the "Fancy" rapper about where she picked it up.

The former Xscape singer recalled that Iggy told her about listening to a lot of southern rap growing up, and adopted the accent in her rhyming style. Tiny also revealed that she loves the way it sounds and is impressed with Iggy's ability to pull off the convincing southern style in her music.

When it comes to a perceived beef between Nicki Minaj and Iggy, Tiny admitted that she just doesn't see what people are talking about. The famed singer claimed she even saw the two rappers being chummy as ever at the 2014 VMAs, which proved to Tiny that there is no beef.

K. Michelle Meets Her Idol, Mary J. Blige, And It Is Just Adorable!

It’s always great to see a new artist pay homage to a music industry veteran, especially when that person is one of their idols. This was the case for K. Michelle recently.

During an appearance on New York’s Power 105 ‘The Breakfast Club,’ the “Love ‘Em All” singer ran into Mary J. Blige and oh was she overwhelmed with joy when she met the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.

“Hi Mary,” introduces a nervous and emotional K. Michelle. "I'm K. Michelle and I really love you. I really, really, really love you, and I thank you. You made me want to be a singer. I thank you for everything. You’re absolutely amazing, and I just wanna say thank you, thank you so much."

Mary replied back with, “You have an amazing voice,” before K unleashed another segment of heartfelt gratitude.

“I hope to one day have half the career that you have,” adds K. “You have touched so many people, and to be able to stand here with you today, that is unreal, and I just want to say thank you… imma keep stalking you.”

K walked away holding back tears, proclaiming, “Oh God! ”

Ugh, I just love her. So cute.

Kylie Jenner to start singing career wants to be the next Katy Perry

There is nothing at which a Kardashian or Jenner won't try his or her hand, so sure, let's entertain the idea that Kylie Jenner is reportedly preparing to launch a pop career in an attempt to become "The Next Katy Perry."

After speaking with a "friend" of Kylie's, Radar Online reports that the youngest Jenner has "found her calling in life — to be a singer!" But wait, there's more! "Kylie is now working on her first single! She is telling everyone that she knows she is going to be the next Katy Perry."

The friend/source also claims that "Kylie has a great voice." Is it as great as Perry's, though? If this report is to be believed and a single is on its way, we will soon be able to judge.

Aside from the obvious reason (money), why is Kylie considering pursuing a pop career, you ask? The friend/source adds: "She realized that she can’t compete with Kendall when it comes to modeling. So she has chosen to turn to music. The whole family is really supportive of the decision, and [producer] Tim [Carter] has already been to Kris’ house to start the lessons!" One man's failed model is another man's pop queen, apparently.

#IndyRef 13 (5) Celebrities Weigh In on Historic Vote

Scores of Scottish celebrities, including Hugh Grant, Susan Boyle and David Beckham, have weighed in on the historic referendum that Scots will vote upon on Thursday to answer the question, "Should Scotland be an independent country?"

The area has been part of the United Kingdom for 307 years. For centuries, scores of supporters have lobbied and even fought for Scotland's independence, as depicted in the Oscar-winning Mel Gibson movie Braveheart and the new Starz series Outlander.

More than 4.28 million people are registered to vote and if most of them choose to break away from the country, the U.K., which also includes England, Wales and Northern Ireland, will lose about 5.2 million citizens. The most recent polls suggest that 51 percent of Scots oppose the proposal. The polls close at 9 p.m. GMT (5 p.m. ET).

Lights' new album "Little Machines" now streaming!!!

Canada's electropop princess is back with a new album called Little Machines, which comes out on September 23rd. However, you can listen to the entire album via the NYTimes website.

I just listened to the album and it is amazing! Highly recommend Same Sea, Speeding, Muscle Memory, Oil and Water, and Slow Down.

She's so far released a MV for Up We Go and Portal. Portal nearly put me to sleep.

I hope she gets more recognition and blows up with this album! <3
