Tina Belcher from Bob's Burgers is fan-voted as the Best Character on Television

One week, zillions of tweets, and nearly 75,000 votes later, our readers have spoken—and here’s who you have named the Best Character on TV Right Now. The winner? Well…

… it’s awkward, deadpan teenager Tina Belcher of Bob’s Burgers.

That’s right: One of the most animated entries on EW‘s list of TV’s Best Characters blew away 24 other worthy competitors—including Arya Stark, Alison Hendrix of Orphan Black, and even Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock Holmes himself—to emerge victorious in our poll. (Scores of you also voiced support for characters who didn’t make it onto EW’s initial list, including Hannibal‘s central duo of Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter, Raymond “Red” Reddington of The Blacklist, Daryl Dixon of The Walking Dead, Vanessa Ives of Penny Dreadful, and Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory.)

Ciara Calls Off Engagement to Future After He Cheated; Pair Welcomed Baby 3 Months Ago

She's out! Ciara has called off her engagement to Future, multiple sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly. The "I'm Out" singer, 28, has called it quits with the rapper, 30, just three months after welcoming their son Future Zahir Wilburn.

"He cheated on her. Game over," an insider tells Us of the "Turn On the Lights" rapper. Another source adds: "She's devastated. Ciara's focus now is the baby."

Together for more than a year, the duo got engaged on Ciara's birthday in October 2013. They were celebrating in New York City when Future surprised her with a stunning 15-carat diamond ring. She gave birth to their son seven months later, on May 19.

"Our label put us together," Ciara dished to Brides magazine back in July about meeting her now ex. "I went into the studio strictly to work, but he was very calm and sweet, a gentleman… I knew right away that he was different. Now he's my best friend in the world, my partner."

Hear the New EDM Meow Mix Song

If there are two things that are massive on the Interweb, it's electronic music and cats. The wise mad men (and women) over at Meow Mix understand this, so this week they unveiled a viral EDM remix, by DJ Ashworth, of the cat kibble's iconic theme song....

This is the first in a series of new Meow Mix remakes; next up is a Nashville version by country cat lady Kellie Pickler. Fans of cat jams can also create their own Meow Mixes in a mobile recording studio that will be at New York City's Columbus Circle on Aug. 13. For every jingle recorded, Meow Mix will donate 100 meals to the Food Bank of New York for cats in need. And that's a reason to get your glowsticks out!

This Is the Most Sexually Interesting Character on Television Right Now

Television today is reflective of society's ever-growing acceptance of sexuality in all its many beautiful forms. But no series depicts sexuality better and with more honesty than AMC's summer sleeper Halt and Catch Fire and its lead character, Joe MacMillan.

Lee Pace plays Joe, an ex-IBM sales executive in 1983, during the personal computer revolution, who brings his talents to Cardiff Electric, a smaller software company trying to compete with IBM. Joe is a brilliant salesman who delivers Don Draper-worthy monologues about technology, but it his sexuality which makes him one of the most intriguing components of this freshman series.

Sexual fluidity is usually a tired TV trope that rears its head in a show's later seasons, when all other plot lines have been exhausted. Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marissa from The O.C. or Ally and Ling's kiss on Ally McBeal all spring to mind. Usually when a character acts on bisexual tendencies or same-sex attraction later in a series' run, the reveal is treated with shock and, to a point, a sense of betrayal from the other characters. This makes Halt and Catch Fire even more groundbreaking: We know Joe is bisexual within the first few episodes of the series, and his sexploits directly affect the plot of the show.

VH1's pro basketball drama Hit the Floor had its second season finale on Monday (11 August) and there may be hope yet for true romance between star player Zero and his agent Jude.

The pair, who began an affair a few episodes back, have a heart-to-heart in the locker room with Jude (Brent Antonello) saying he wants a real relationship, not just a sexual one.

In the final moments, Zero (Adam Senn) drops his guard a bit and the season ends with the possibility that the two may make a go of it.

Robin Williams Fans Turn Toward Visions of Him in Heaven in 'What Dreams May Come'

As the world mourns the death of Robin Williams, the body of work left behind by the talented and much loved comic-actor is being celebrated and shared. Fans are revisiting films like Mrs. Doubtfire and Dead Poets Society and Hook. One movie, though, has emerged as a surprising talking point: the 1998 drama What Dreams May Come.

The spiritually themed (and visually stunning) drama began trending on Twitter within hours of Monday’s news that the 63-year-old Williams had died of an apparent suicide in Marin County, California.

The movie was among a group of titles from Williams’s roughly 50-film career that quickly rose to the top of the charts on both Amazon and iTunes, nestled among bigger hits like Good Will Hunting, The Birdcageand Patch Adams. As of this morning, What Dreams May Come was the 45th most-downloaded movie on iTunes, and the 40th top-selling movie on Amazon — ahead of Hook and Aladdin.

One Direction’s Next Album Will Be ‘A Little Bit More Edgy’

'We feel like we've got some really good songs,' Niall said on the 'Today' show.

Even though it’s been less than a year since One Direction released Midnight Memories, the guys are hard at work on their upcoming fourth album.

Niall, Louis, Liam, Zayn and Harry sat down with Carson Daly on the “Today” show and revealed that the next album is taking them in a new direction…no pun intended.

“I think it’s going to be a little bit more edgy,” Niall said of the type of music they are recording. “But obviously we feel like we’ve got some really good songs and we are happy.”

Justin Bieber pleads guilty to careless driving, makes donation in DUI case

Justin Bieber made a $50,000 donation to a youth charity as part of a plea deal to settle a Miami drunken driving case Wednesday.

Bieber, 20, was not in court when a judge accepted his guilty plea to careless driving and resisting arrest in connection with the Miami Beach incident last January.

Prosecutors dropped the drunken driving charge in the agreement, which requires Bieber to get 12 hours of anger management counseling, attend a program that teaches about the impact of drunken driving on victims and make the large donation to the "Our Kids" organization.

Calvin Harris defends blocking Rita Ora performance: 'I had good reason'

Calvin Harris has defended his decision to block Rita Ora's Teen Choice Awards performance.

The DJ and ex-boyfriend of the British popstar is the sole writer and producer of her track 'I Will Never Let You Down', so has to approve any televised performance of the track.

However, Ora revealed yesterday (August 12) that Harris denied her permission to perform the track at the American awards show this past weekend.

"You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life," Harris tweeted, in response to Ora's claims.

"But just know I had a damn good reason," he added, before tweeting an emoji of a hand waving goodbye.

'I Will Never Let You Down' reached number one in the UK back in May, marking Ora's fourth British chart-topper of her career so far.

Harris had also worked on more tracks for Ora's forthcoming second studio album, but it is not yet known whether they will make the final tracklisting.

As for the Second Wife – everyone’s been speculating about her infidelity recently but they might be focusing on the wrong target. The right target isn’t a billionaire but he’s a pretty successful player too, albeit on a smaller screen. Their involvement led to an award for her, and a divorce for him. She was attracted to him because “he’s the hot geeky type like her husband”. Both insist that they never moved past suggestive texting and heavy flirting and never ended up consummating their attraction. Bullsh-t. There was at least one night and that’s why she’s so freaked out about the takedown that’s been coming to her. She’d be happy if they stayed on the current scene they’re on so long as she doesn’t get busted for this one.

I love my bandmates, and I’m proud of what we’ve done, and mercifully, those things don’t change with my departure,” he said in a post for Seattle newspaper The Stranger. “Moving forward, my plans are simply to continue making music, producing records, and erring on the side of benevolence and beauty whenever possible. Darkness may find me, but I shall never choose it.” The band acknowledged his departure on their Facebook page, adding: “We’ve had an incredible 17 years of making music with Chris. TOWIE star Dan Osborne Fulfills Our Dreams, Joins Male Stripper Troupe In A Sexy Shirtless Car Wash

I hope that title brightened up your Wednesday. We bring you buff shirtless men getting down and dirty while washing some cars!

I’m not sure who Dan Osborne is and I have never watched The Only Way Is Essex, but I think I’m going to start. Apparently Mr. Osborne has quite the following of people who think he’s smoking hot and I’m about to jump on that bandwagon.

He also is starting a new career as a male stripper! Dan announced that he will be joining the UK’s famous male stripper troupe, The Dreamboys, on their Fit and Famous tour starting September. Here are Dan and his new “co-workers” at a wet and wild carwash in London to raise money for charity. Looks like great practice for their up coming tour.

Well, bad news unless you want to fly all they way to the London the chances of you seeing these hot pieces of man are pretty unlikely. Dan will be joining The Dreamboys for seven stops on the tour that sadly are only in the U.K. So if anyone would like to petition with me to get these sexy performers to bring their show here, please comment below! I have a feeling we can make this happen. We deserve to witness the joy that is Dan Osbourne and The Dreamboys.

The Cast of 'Aladdin' on Broadway Pay Tribute to Robin Williams in an Epic Way

This is the Greatest Robin Williams Tribute You Will Ever See, Bar None

If this beautiful, moving display of Robin Williams love and family support doesn't get you right in the solar plexus, hope isn't necessarily lost, but it sure is waning quickly. You should do something about that, because this is the epitome of moving, friends.

"Aladdin" on Broadway recently enacted their own tribute to the late Williams, in a style that he would probably much appreciate: a mass stage and audience singalong to one of the most popular songs in the animated movie, "Friend Like Me."

It's OK, guys. Those tears? Let them out. This is beautiful, and something about this tribute seems so lovely and right amidst all this heartbreaking wrong.

this is freaking epic! whoever had the idea i salute you.

Zara offends people by selling "White Is The New Black" Shirts

The slogan tee reads: "WHITE IS THE NEW BLACK."

Yes, there have been multiple variations of the saying ("black is the new black," "pink is the new black," and even Orange Is the New Black), and while it could be seen as just another play on words, we can't help but think the phrasing could offend some people. Think about it. Also, you would think the largest apparel retailer in the world wouldn't allow something that can be severely misconstrued to make it off the production line.

In the past, retailers and brands have released tees that weren't intentionally offensive, but were actually more loaded than they may have thought. Last month, the UK's largest sports dealer, Sports Direct, sold merchandise of a band with a neo-Nazi lead singer. In 2013, Amazon stocked this "Keep Calm and Rape A Lot" T-shirt on its site. To which we say: if you're trying to get a succinct message that encodes your personality to all literate bypassers, maybe your shirt is saying more about you than it is to your audience.

What do you think of the shirt? Do you think they did it on purpose?

Ellen Mirojnick Talks Costumes on 'The Knick'

Costume designer Ellen Mirojnick was most recently responsible for transforming Michael Douglas into the ever-resplendent, sequin-encrusted Liberace in Steven Soderbergh’s “Behind the Candelabra,” for which she won an Emmy (her relationship with Douglas spans back to the Eighties; she costumed several of his films, including “Wall Street,” “Fatal Attraction” and “Basic Instinct”). Soderbergh was so taken with Mirojnick’s costumes on “Candelabra” that he invited her back to outfit the cast of his new miniseries, “The Knick,” a period drama that premieres tonight on Cinemax.

“I heard Steven was going to retire and I was like, ‘S--t. This is my guy,’” Mirojnick says. “And he retired from film, but not from long-form storytelling. So, nine months after ‘Candelabra,’ ‘The Knick’ showed up. Our design team came back together with Steven and I was happier than a pea in a pod. I fell back in love with costume design because Steven is such a great collaborator and a true believer in letting everybody do their job. He trusts you to create the world that he has in his mind’s eye.”

Set in downtown New York in 1900, the majority of “The Knick” takes place inside the Knickerbocker Hospital at the dawn of modern medicine and stars Clive Owen as Dr. John Thackery, the hospital’s head surgeon — and a hopeless drug addict. Soderbergh directed all 10 episodes of the show’s first season, which could be described as a decidedly unromantic period drama.

How ‘The Knick’ turned the streets of Manhattan into old New York

Turning back the hands of time to 1900 was no mean feat on “The Knick,” which premieres Friday at 10 p.m. on Cinemax. The drama about a struggling New York City hospital was filmed in 70 days in a studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and on the streets of the city.

Boys High School in Bedford-Stuyvesant provided the exteriors for the show’s Knickerbocker Hospital, where John Thackery (Clive Owen) and a staff of doctors deliver babies, repair hernias and treat the diseases of the day — typhoid and syphilis among them. A sparkling example of Romanesque Revival architecture, the school was designed in 1891 by James W. Naughton. It is both a city landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places.

Celegend™ puts show business career on hold for health and family reasons

Celine Dion has decided to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus 100% of her attention on her husband Rene, their family, and associated health issues. Since Rene's surgery last December to remove a cancerous tumor, it's been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children.

Celine has also been fighting an illness that has caused inflammation in her throat muscles, and has not been able to perform any of her scheduled shows in Las Vegas since her last show on July 29th. She has still not recovered from this condition.
"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support." said Celine.

During this hiatus, Celine will cancel her shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace until further notice. She will also cancel her tour of Asia, previously scheduled for the fall of this year.

Bacall was the last surviving member of the 16 famous names in the song; nine of these stars were still alive when the song hit airwaves on March 20, 1990. ("Vogue" itself is 24 years old.)

The iconic disco movement of yesteryear, which your parents partied to in the late ’70s and early ’80s, didn’t see much of a rebirth until the late ’90s. As you probably remember, it began to slowly resurface in playful elements of French house acts. Despite it being a genre which we can comfortably credit for much of what we hear today, it undoubtedly shied away from fully adopting disco as a modern genre by also borrowing elements of ’70s funk and classic house. That is of course only true if you disregard mainstream artists like the Spice Girls, who also toyed with the idea. But renewed interest in disco as a cool and modern genre wasn’t full blown until the early 2000s. It was artists like Daft Punk and Justice consciously paved the way, dropping hints for newer artists to embrace. It was only a matter of time before the underground electronic dance movement would fully embrace its resurgence.

Fast forward to 2014, and you’ve got bands like the The Knocks, out of New York City, delivering fresh cuts for cool kids. You’ve probably dealt with their dance floor scorchers unknowingly–they’ve done killer remixes for Two Door Cinema Club, Foster the People, Santigold and Haim. But why we’re here today is to premiere the outstanding visual that accompanies their new and delectable single “Classic.” The leading single is taken from their forthcoming debut album which officially drops October 7th via Big Beat Records. 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Soundtrack Hits #1 on Billboard 200

The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' soundtrack sold 109,000 copies in the week following its big theatrical debut at the box office.
Guardians of the Galaxy is already a surefire hit at the box office, taking in over $325 million worldwide since its debut less than two weeks ago. The Marvel Phase Two adventure has also proven to be a hit on the music charts as well, with the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, subtitled "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" taking the top spot last week on the Billboard 200 charts.
The soundtrack sold 109,000 copies during the week ending August 10, an 83% increase in sales from its first-week sales of 60,000 units. The 12-track collection, featuring classic songs from the 1960s and 1970s such as "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede and "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5, was the second motion picture soundtrack to top the Billboard charts this year, following the highly-successful Frozen album.
Billboard also notes that Guardians of the Galaxy's #1 album is historic since it is the first soundtrack to hit the top spot that is entirely comprised of previously-released songs. All of the tracks were originally released in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and most of them were hits on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Every track except one, Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky", was actually featured in the movie itself.
The songs play an important part in the movie itself, with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) constantly listening to his "Awesome Mix Vol. 1," which were his mother's favorite songs growing up. The tape, and his antiquated Walkman cassette player, are among the few possessions he held onto from his childhood on Earth.
When we spoke with producer Kevin Feige last month, he revealed that every one of these songs was listed by name in the first draft of writer-director James Gunn's script. Here's what he had to say about the songs in an excerpt from that interview.
"They were written in the script. In the very first draft, the original script, and when I have my red pen and read scripts the way I do, I circled each song, and I thought, 'Maybe this will work, but we'll probably have to go through 10, 20, 30 different songs for every cue to land on one,' because that's usually our experience, you have to turn a lot of things over. Every single song is exactly the same that James laid out in his first draft, which I never would have predicted. They're great. They're brilliant."
Guardians of the Galaxy was released August 1st, 2014 and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan. The film is directed by James Gunn.

Arizona State lineman Chip Sarafin comes out as gay

Arizona State senior offensive lineman Edward "Chip" Sarafin has come out as gay, the school's athletic department confirmed after it was reported on Wednesday through a local magazine for gay sports.

He became the first active college football player to come out to the public, and followed in the footsteps of St. Louis Rams linebacker Michael Sam, who came out publicly following the conclusion of his collegiate career at Missouri.

Sarafin, who denied an interview request with USA TODAY Sports, told the Phoenix-based magazine for gay sports, Compete, of his sexual orientation in a nonchalant manner and said he told his teammates last spring.

"It was really personal for me, and it benefited my peace of mind greatly," he said in the magazine.Collapse )

Kim Kardashian: Rob Told Me He Was Skipping Wedding Via Email

There was no big blowout, no dramatic discussion or even an exchange of words.

When Rob Kardashian decided to skip out on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding, he broke the news to his sister via email, she told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen on Tuesday.

"He sent me a long email the morning of, that he was going to leave," she told Cohen. "There was no fight. ... We didn't even have a conversation about it."

Kardashian – who insisted things between the two are fine now, calling her brother "one of my best friends" – said she put the incident on the back burner to focus on enjoying her over-the-top Italian nuptials.

"I said, 'You know what? This is my day. I'm not going to worry about it. I totally hope he's okay,' " Kardashian said of her reaction to his departure. "I totally understand that he wouldn't want to go and want to see a lot of people if he's feeling uncomfortable."

Although she expressed regret that Rob wasn't on hand to witness the important moment in her life, she's not willing to dwell on the past. "You can only pray and wish that someone would not miss out on more memories in life, because life is about memories, so fix the problem," she said bluntly.

Kardashian, who with West celebrated their daughter North's first birthday in June, has been busy working on losing what she believes are lingering pregnancy pounds.

And while she can empathize with Rob's weight issues, Kardashian said she refuses to sit back and let life pass her by.

"I'm definitely a tough-love kind of person. If I don't like something that is going on in my life, I change it," she said. "I don't sit and complain about it for a year. I'm just a different personality."

She added: "I try to encourage him, and once you just don't make that change for so long and it's not happening, I get frustrated. My patience runs out."

In Honor of Her 10 Year Reunion, Lauren Conrad Gives Advice to Her 18-Year Old Self

Those of you who were Laguna Beach fans may have realized that it’s officially been 10 years since my friends and I graduated high school and went off into the ‘real world.’ So crazy! In light of my 10-year reunion, I’ve been doing a little reflecting. I recently received the below question to my email inbox, and decided to share the answer with everyone:

What are three things you wish you could tell your 18-year-old self?

Well, 18-year-old Lauren, here’s my advice…

1. Wear sunscreen!

This is an obvious one. When I was a teenager, tanning was the mode du jour and I was all about getting that sun-kissed (or tanning bed orange…) glow. I felt invincible, and never thought twice about the skin damage caused by UV rays. Nowadays, I’ve learned to embrace my natural skin tone in the hopes that it will mean less wrinkles and a lower risk of skin cancer as I get older. I never leave home without my SPF.
