Janet Jackson to release new album this year?

'All For You' singer Janet Jackson is reportedly working on a new album - her first since 2008 - to be released by the end of the year, and it will feature a tribute to her late brother Michael.

Janet Jackson is expected to release a new album later this year.
The 'All For You' singer has reportedly been working on an upcoming project and it is said she will pay tribute to her late brother Michael, with plans to cover one of his tracks for the record.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: ''The labels are really pushing Janet and have made her a priority act for the year, which means a big budget.

''It's the first album she's released since Michael died in 2009 so she felt it was fitting to include a nod to him.
''If it sells well she will look at doing a world tour in 2015.''
Meanwhile, songwriter Jamie McGrone has hinted at his involvement in the ''project'' - which would be her first album since 'Discipline' in 2008.
He took to Instagram and revealed his ''team'' would be working on the record, but refused to go into any more detail on what exactly they would be working on.
He wrote: ''Guess whose team is going to New York to work on the new Janet Jackson project.''

'Hit the Floor' Season 2 finale: Did Jelena Howard kill Olivia Vincent?

The Season 2 finale of "Hit the Floor" brings Olivia Vincent's (Charlotte Ross) murder to the forefront -- and guess who doesn't have an alibi? Devil Girls team captain Jelena Howard (Logan Browning).

In this preview clip, Jelena says, "Olivia wasn't close to anyone. She burned a lot of bridges. ... Oscar fired her, I was simply the messenger," then confesses that her alibi for the time of Olivia's death is that she was alone, sleeping.

Did Jelena kill former Devil Girls dancer Olivia? The finale trailer teases that the answer will be revealed -- and Jelena is not the only person without a solid alibi. Kyle Hart (Katherine Bailess) tells Terrence Wall (Rob Riley) that she told the police they were together when Olivia was murdered, but it doesn't sound like that's the truth.

"Hit the Floor's" Season 2 finale airs Monday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on VH1.

It returns in May 2015 for Season 3.

Jason Momoa Will Officially Be Aquaman In Batman V. Superman

It's been rumored for a while now, but Variety is reporting that Khal Drogo Jason Momoa has officially signed on to play DC's king of Atlantis in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and, presumably the Justice League movie after that.

As anyone who's seen Momoa in the first season of Game of Thrones knows, the man has charisma, which should do wonders for erasing the general perception of Aquaman as a joke character who only talks to fish. Admittedly, Momoa is lacking Aquman's traditional blond hair, but he does have the benefit of looking like this:

REVIEW: Hilary Duff's New Single 'All About You' is Full of Hooks, Banjo, and Sweetly Sexy Lyrics

First, Hilary Duff was "Chasing The Sun," but now she wants you to know she's "All About You." In her continued effort to come back into the world of pop music, today (Aug. 12), the former Disney star released her second single of 2014, the hook-filled, bubbly track "All About You."

Whereas Duff's first official comeback single "Chasing The Sun" was a bit of a generic take on the summer anthem, "All About You" oozes poppy successes. Keeping with the same laidback, sunny vibes as her first new song, "All About You" improves on "Chasing The Sun" with its killer hooks, which are seriously plentiful.

Fashion Icon Rita Ora™ Speaks On Calvin Harris Shutting Down Her Teen Choice Performance

Rita Ora has confirmed that Calvin Harris blocked her from performing at the Teen Choice Awards in America this past weekend.

The singer was due to perform her single 'I Will Never Let You Down', but because her ex-boyfriend Harris is the sole writer and producer on the track, he has to sign off the rights to give permission for a televised performance. Harris decided not to approve the performance, so Ora was forced to cancel the planned show at the last minute.

Asked by Ryan Seacrest if the decision surprised her, Ora replied: "No. No, no, no."

She added: "We put a lot of effort and work into the show. Every time we do a show, I rehearse about a month in advance, and, y'know... I could have got told a few weeks earlier! That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but do you know what? We move on and we move forward."

'I Will Never Let You Down' reached number one in the UK back in May, marking Ora's fourth British chart-topper of her career so far.

Meanwhile, Ora recently spoke about a new track, titled 'Poison', which hears her hit out at an ex-boyfriend.

The first episode quickly spread on the Internet, but finding the second episode proved more difficult. Track by Track Album Review: Welcome to the Jungle by Neon Jungle

It’s been nearly two years since they formed, and now Neon Jungle have finally released their debut album, Welcome to the Jungle, in North America.

Hailing from all over the U.K.,  members Asami Zdrenka (18), Jessica Plummer (21), Amira McCarthy (18), and Shereen Cutkelvin (17) have said they instantly became a family after starting Neon Jungle in 2012. They have since been turning heads with their unique twist on pop music and their vibrant personalities.

Their funky and raw musicality and style has been quite refreshing; it’s nice to see girl bands like Neon Jungle and their contemporaries, Little Mix, make a splash on the boy-band dominated scene.

So without further ado, here’s my track-by-track breakdown of Neon Jungle’s debut album, Welcome to the Jungle.

Producers Behind "Shark Week" Are Misleading Credible Scientists

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" is misleading the public again this year with several documentaries. So why are scientists allowing themselves to be featured in these pseudoscience disasters? There's a simple reason: Shark Week producers have been lying to them.

Jonathan Davis, who now works for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, was studying the bull sharks in the Gulf of Mexico for his Masters research when he was approached by a Shark Week film crew. "They were interested in the sharks in Louisiana, and I was the person doing the research there," Davis says. He agreed to take the film crew into the field, but quickly became concerned by their refusal to answer his questions.

He said: I asked a few of the crew members, including the producer, what the show was going to be about. I never got a straight answer and the producer seemed to avoid the question. I was just told it would be combined with some other filming to make one show about Louisiana shark research.

Davis was shocked to find that his interview aired during a 2013 Shark Week special called Voodoo Shark, which was about a mythical monster shark called "Rooken" that lived in the Bayous of Louisiana. The "other filming" his interview was combined with featured a Bayou fishermen, and the clips were edited together to make it seem like a race between his team of researchers and the fishermen to see who could catch the mythical voodoo shark faster. In reality, Davis was barely asked about the voodoo shark at all. His answers from unrelated questions were edited together to make it seem like he believed in its existence and was searching for it.

Legendary divas in Manila: what to expect

Two world-famous divas are confirmed to sing their greatest hits for Philippine audiences in the coming months and fans are going crazy, asking: Which one should I see? With limited funds, should I to choose one and get a good seat or divide my money to see them both from the nosebleed section?

These are valid concerns, especially for those who have waited so long for such a once-in-a-lifetime event. This may never take place again because, as we all know, divas (the category of popular singers with big voices) are a dying breed. The trouble is that the shows are happening within a month of each another and announcements are only being made now - mere weeks before the scheduled performances.

Hideo Kojima & Guillermo Del Toro Team Up For New Silent Hill Game

Yeah, this is actually happening. Classic horror game series Silent Hill is back, with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and famed horror movie director Guillermo del Toro involved. Walking Dead TV show actor Norman Reedus is the star. It was revealed in the form of an interactive teaser on the PlayStation Store.

The video shows a man who turns out to be actor Norman Reedus on a darkened street before revealing the the names of Kojima and del Toro. He looks at the camera, and then the Silent Hill logo appears.

So this kinda came out of nowhere, huh? Well, not entirely. An allegedly terrifying demo called P.T. was announced and released during Sony's Gamescom conference, and people flocked to the PS Store to download it. It turned out to be a teaser for this mega-project, as opposed to a demo for a new horror series as everyone first suspected.

The whole stunt is very much in line with Kojima's penchant for bait-and-switches, mostly recently seen with Metal Gear Solid V's "The Phantom Pain" reveal gag.

This isn't Guillermo del Toro's first crack at game development, either. He was set to head up a much-hyped but never seen horror game called Insane before publisher THQ became a madhouse (and then not a house at all) due to money troubles.

FKA twigs Talks Sex & Self-Reliance: Weird Things Can Be Sexy

Milk pours out of FKA twigs's fingers, at the end of arms whose soft bulk suggests a kind of ant-strength. Spray-painted in gold and writhing beneath her with biomechanical need is a doppelganger, lapping at the cascading liquid. Twigs looks into the camera. "My thighs are apart for when you're ready to breathe in," she promises.

This is the video for Two Weeks, the first single from twigs's debut album, set for release this month. With her iconic styling – a mix of thuggish leather, gothic lace and occult bling – alongside songwriting that blends darkly spectral production with beautiful melody, she's being lauded as a visionary new voic. She's also a pop star who really nails sex. For a culture so obsessed with carnality, songs that get it right are bizarrely few and far between: Madonna's Erotica, perhaps, or Marvin Gaye's I Want You, whose lyrics seduce while the music is already biting the pillow. Twigs, however, is writing strings of them; sex in her songs is a shifting game of sustain and release, a far cry from the seaside postcards of Perry, Cyrus, Thicke et al.

"I write exactly what I think," she says of this frankly hot material when we meet. "If it's a raw subject, I write lots of things and then pull out all the fluff words." Hence Two Weeks, a song about wooing a man away from a sexless relationship, features the line "I can fuck you better than her". "Weird things can be sexy," she continues. "Vulnerability is the strongest state to be in. How boring would it be if we were constantly dominant or constantly submissive? In the video, it's this vision of me feeding myself, milking myself. I was naked, painted in gold, doing krump dance moves. It's bizarre, but hot in a very weird way."

Ed Nelson, Actor On TV's 'Peyton Place', Dies At 85

Ed Nelson, a star of the 1960s primetime soap “Peyton Place” and an actor with almost 200 credits, mostly in television, died on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C. He was 85.

Nelson had most recently appeared in the 2003 courtroom thriller “Runaway Jury,” starring Gene Hackman. He had a more significant role as General Sherman in the 1998 Jackie Chan vehicle “Who Am I.”

On “Peyton Place,” he played Dr. Michael Rossi during the entire five-year run of the series — 436 episodes. He returned in 1985 for reunion telepic “Peyton Place: The Next Generation.”

But Nelson was already a TV veteran by the time he was cast on “Peyton Place” in 1964. After a string of small parts in Roger Corman B movies during the mid to late ’50s, he began guesting on Westerns such as “Zane Grey Theater,” “Have Gun — Will Travel,” “The Rifleman,” “Maverick,” “Rawhide” and “Gunsmoke” plus other series such as “Twilight Zone,” “The Untouchables,” “The Fugitive” and “Dr. Kildare.”

Is Tom Hiddleston gonna be the next Ben Hur?

Tom Hiddleston as Ben-Hur? MGM and Paramount are hoping to make that happen.
With a release date of February 26, 2016 already set for the studios' forthcoming adaptation of the 1880 Lew Wallace novel, the "Avengers" star is being eyed to take on the title role in the film for director Timur Bekmambetov ("The Darkest Hour"), according to Deadline. If Hiddleston were to take on the part, he would be the fifth actor to play the iconic character after Herman Rottger (1907), Ramon Novarro (1925), Charlton Heston (1959) and Joseph Morgan (2010).

Set in Jerusalem at the beginning of the 1st century, "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ" tells the story of Jewish prince Judah Ben-Hur and his rivalry with childhood friend Messala, a Roman commanding officer who has him falsely convicted for an alleged assassination attempt on the Roman governor. After being condemned to the Roman galleys, Judah later returns to Jerusalem to seek revenge on Messala - a scenario that culminates in the climactic chariot race made famous by William Wyler's Oscar-winning 1959 version of the story. Unlike that film, the new adaptation will give more weight to the parallel story of Jesus Christ that unfolds in the original novel.

The latest version of "Ben-Hur" was penned by Oscar-winning "12 Years a Slave" screenwriter John Ridley from a previous draft by Keith Clarke ("The Way Back"); Mark Burnett and Roma Downey ("The Bible") are serving as producers.

IDK whether to be excited about Tom getting roles, cynical about Hollywood's need to remake all the things, or annoyed about another white person being up for a role about Middle-Eastern people. Either way, nothing's set in stone.

Exclusive: Marvel Moving Forward on THE INHUMANS Movie; Screenplay by Joe Robert Cole

Guardians of the Galaxy
was Marvel’s big gamble on whether or not they could sell a group of unknown characters in a unique world based on the studio’s brand alone.  They won that bet, and now it’s given Marvel the confidence to move forward on another team of mostly unknown, strange characters: The Inhumans.  As we reported back in March 2011, the studio was considering adapting the comic into a movie.  In July 2012, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly that if either Guardians or The Inhumans became a movie, audiences could expect an “X-Men-style ensemble, a la The Avengers.”  In a broad sense, that’s true: A team of misfits and outsiders comes together to battle a larger foe; beyond that, I doubt many would compare Guardians to X-Men or The Avengers.  But for over two years, there was no word on The Inhumans.

The other day, Vin Diesel dropped a hint about being part of The Inhumans, and it turns out he wasn’t just blowing smoke.  The studio is happy with the existing script by Joe Robert Cole, and now the next logical step is to take it out to filmmakers.  Hit the jump for more.

November court date set for Hope Solo

The trial of Olympic gold medalist and Seattle Reign FC goalkeeper Hope Solo was set for Nov. 4 after a short hearing Monday morning in Kirkland Municipal Court.

Her attorney, Todd Maybrown, said he aims to have the case dismissed and have evidence suppressed.

“As expected, and as is normal in misdemeanor cases, today’s hearing was about setting a trial date. We’re pleased that both sides, and the judge, agreed to a November date and we look forward to the opportunity for the truth about this incident to be disclosed, which will clear Hope’s name,” Maybrown said in an email.

Solo has pleaded not guilty to gross-misdemeanor charges for allegedly striking her sister and her nephew at a Kirkland home in late June. If convicted, she could face up to six months in jail.

At the hearing, Solo was accompanied by her husband, former Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens.

Whatever, no one bothers to learn all that crap about him. Major Victory has a funny name, a noble bearing, a cool containment bodysuit, and gives everyone an opportunity to see Cap's shield flung at evildoers in space. What more do you need to know?

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon pay tribute to Robin Williams

Robin Williams, who died Monday of an apparent suicide at age 63, helped launch the careers of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, childhood friends who co-wrote the screenplay for Good Will Hunting set in their native Boston. Williams signed on to play psychotherapist Sean Maguire in the 1997 film, which earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar at the Academy Awards.

During his acceptance speech, Williams jokingly thanked his young screenwriters and costars, quipping that he "still want[ed] to see some I.D." from the rising stars, who also earned an Oscar for Best Screenplay.

Ben: Matt and I owe Robin "everything"

"Heartbroken. Thanks chief – for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything. May you find peace my friend."

Matt: "Robin brought so much joy into my life"

"Robin brought so much joy into my life and I will carry that joy with me forever. He was such a beautiful man. I was lucky to know him and I will never, ever forget him. I truly hope the people in the media can find it within themselves to give his family some privacy during this horrible time."
