After the news that Blake Lively's hotly anticipated lifestyle site Preserve would launch July 23, we've all received a big surprise today: it went live two days early.
Found at >>> Preserve.us <<<, the site delivers what we expected: commentary on the meaning of "home," a detailed list of the site's philanthropic efforts, recipes, and etheral videos dedicated to properly branding Lively's latest effort. But by far our favorite part of the site is Lively's debut editor's letter:

This week marks the seven-year anniversary of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. To celebrate, we pick out the seven best fan theories that never came true.
After countless years of theorizing and speculating on the fate of Harry and his friends, J.K. Rowling somehow still managed to surprise us when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released on July 21, 2007.
The betting game was so mainstream that actual bookmakers had released official odds on the likelihood of Harry’s survival (it wasn’t great), and even had stats on who would be the one to kill him (Voldemort was the clear favourite, with Snape coming in at 5-2).
A lot of people’s general theories came true – Harry was a Horcrux, Ron and Hermione got together, Snape was in love with Lily – but some twists took fans completely by surprise. Bookmaker careers were ruined when Rowling had the nerve to simultaneously kill Harry off and having him survive till the end, and we don’t think anyone saw Dumbledore’s extensive and complicated backstory coming.

Soon you’re going to be able to watch every episode of The Simpsons anywhere you want. Cable network FXX, which last year struck a deal to obtain the exclusive cable network rights to the longest-running primetime animated series, is putting The Simpsons archive online, all fully searchable.
FXX is launching “Simpsons World,” a new way of getting on-demand Simpsons content. For the first time, viewers can access every episode of the series via their computer or other networked devices.
“Authenticated” FX subscribers will have instant access on iPhone, iPad, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Android phones and tablets, Smart TVs, and additional set-tops devices. Viewers will also be able to search for specific quotes, curate their own own personalized playlists, and share their favorite show clips and quotes (non-subscribers will be able to watch the clips, just not full episodes).
The site will vastly widen the availability of Simpsons content online. Hulu currently carries a library of classic Simpsons clips, though only the series’ eight most recent episodes are available for viewing on that streaming service.
“I don’t want to over-promise, but this website can provide you with affordable health care,” joked longtime Simpsons executive producer Al Jean.
Also, as previously announced, The Simpsons is getting the Longest. Marathon. Ever! FXX will air 25 seasons of The Simpsons in a row. That’s 522 episodes. And The Simpsons Movie. According to FXX, this will make it the longest-running marathon in television history—all Simpsons, all the time, 24 hours a day, for 12 days, in chronological order.
The marathon begins Aug. 21, so order those cases of Duff now.
Real Madrid have signed World Cup Golden Boot winner James Rodriguez from French league club Monaco.
The 23-year-old Colombia forward has agreed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu.
The reported fee of about 80 million euros (£63m) makes Rodriguez the fourth most expensive transfer of all time after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.
Rodriguez scored six goals in five matches at the World Cup as his side reached the quarter-finals.
He scored against Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan as they topped Group C before netting twice, one a sublime volley, during the 2-0 last-16 win against Uruguay, which was voted goal of the tournament.
Rodriguez's final goal was a late consolation from the penalty spot as Colombia lost 2-1 to Brazil.

It’s been six years since Remy Ma went away. The Bronx rapper, who’s “nine days and a wake up” from being released from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women, called into Angie Martinez on Power 105.1 on Monday. Despite her time behind bars, she’s still the same Rem.
“I can’t say that I was one of those people that went to prison and I had this dramatic life change and I had this newfound outtake on life,” she said. “In a lot of ways, I’m the same.”
While locked up, she received her associates degree in sociology, married Papoose, and had plenty of time to reflect. “I grew up a lot and I look at things a lot differently,” said the 34-year-old protégée of Big Pun.
One of her “epiphanies” was reconciling with her fellow Terror Squad member Fat Joe. She called him up and they shared laughs while reflecting on the past. “It was a really, really dope conversation,” she said.
She can’t wait to return to the mic. “I am so alive,” said Remy. “This is gonna be unfair.” She’s been fielding offers from various labels (“More than I can count on one hand”) and is working on a reality show.
While they’ve had their differences in the past, she once again shared her support for Nicki Minaj. “She’s done wonderful things for females,” said Remy. She didn’t hang up without delivering a warning to her competition: “Stand back. It’s not gonna be fair. My pen game is crazy.”

music video she made last year to celebrate her 21st! <3
Once upon a time, a pop star named Britney Spears released a ballad titled "Perfume" off her eighth studio album. She filmed a music video for it, but thanks to a last minute edit, the video her fans saw was watered down and basic.
Director Joseph Kahn said of the original treatment:
"It sucks, especially since my director’s cut is an entirely different video. The released edit is missing half of the story and all of the editorial structure. It took a lot of serious salvaging of footage to get it to an acceptable place after the concept was gutted. It’s like watching people pet a shaved, bald, declawed cat. I don’t gain any satisfaction from people liking work I did that’s heavily compromised... If they liked the weak version, I’d bet they’d love the strong one. No one knows what they’re missing, and they’re missing a lot."

Why do they keep insisting on playing it safe? Britney's career was founded on controversy and taking risks...

British actress Hannah John-Kamen, the star of London's West End musical Viva Forever, has landed the plum lead role in the Space and Syfy series Killjoys, from Orphan Black producer Temple Street Productions.
The 10-episode Canadian drama will also star Aaron Ashmore and Luke Macfarlane.
John-Kamen will play the lead role of Dutch, a top-level Killjoy, or interplanetary bounty hunter, chasing deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant planetary system.
Also playing killjoys are Ashmore, who takes on the role of John Jaqobis, a peacemaker who hates conflict; and Macfarlane, who played Scotty Wandell on Brothers and Sisters and in the Space and Syfy drama stars as D’avin, a handsome, rugged, sarcastic and incredibly loyal former soldier.
"Hannah, Aaron, and Luke are the perfect combination to lead this exciting new drama series,” said Corrie Coe, senior vp independent production at Space parent Bell Media, in a statement Tuesday.
The cross-border co-venture was created by showrunner Michelle Lovretta (Lost Girl). It will start production in Toronto on Aug. 5, with Chris Grismer (Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars) directing.
Space and Syfy are set to debut Killjoys in 2015.
Fox’s Gotham isn’t short on budding supervillains, but showrunner Bruce Hellerwants to bring even more baddies into the fold. In a recent interview, he confirmed that Hugo Strange and Harvey Dent (a.k.a. Two-Face) would also be making appearances on the series.
Keira Knightley has been offered a record deal by Adam Levine. The 29-year-old actress - who plays songwriter Gretta alongside Adam in the new comedy-drama 'Begin Again' - is said to have impressed the Maroon 5 frontman with her vocal abilities, prompting him to offer her a record deal at his new label '222 Records'.
A music industry insider told The Sun: "Keira has offers on the table and is tempted by them. She enjoyed singing in the movie and people around her were impressed. Adam has just started a label called 222 Records and has been trying to persuade Keira to sign a deal with him."
The 'Harder To Breathe' hitmaker - who also stars as a coach on the 'The Voice' - was so impressed by Keira's talent, he now believes adding her to the new label will give it a "kickstart" in the industry. The source explained: "He thinks she could be a successful pop star and sell loads of records, which would help kickstart his career as a label boss."

There's a “RocknRolla” reunion on the horizon, as Idris Elba is in talks to co-star in Guy Ritchie‘s “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.
Elba is not circling the lead role of Arthur, but rather an older Knight named Bedivere, Arthur's father's right-hand man who takes it upon himself to train the young warrior for battle as he learns his true destiny.
Joby Harold wrote the script and will produce with his Safehouse Pictures partner Tory Tunnell, as well as Akiva Goldsman and Lionel Wigram. Warner Bros. will release Ritchie's medieval movie on July 22, 2016 release.
Elba next stars in the home invasion thriller “No Good Deed” and the Sean Penn action movie “The Gunman,” as well as Cary Fukunaga's “Beasts of No Nation.” He'll also voice Shere Khan in Disney's “The Jungle Book.” Elba is represented by WME.
If you haven’t watched last night’s True Blood be warned there are some spoilers ahead—mostly relating to Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and James (Nathan Parsons). In “Lost Cause,” vamp waitress Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) walks in on the guys having sex and dumps James, rushing into Jason Stackhouse’s arms out of spite.
Oh honey, we’d do the same thing. Both Parsons and Ellis, who hasn’t had a True Blood love interest since Jesús (Kevin Alejandro) was cruelly killed, spoke to the press recently about the gay storyline—a rarity even for the sex-heavy True Blood.
Vulture got Ellis to go on the record about Luke Grimes, who was originally cast as James but quit the show because he didn’t want to play a gay character.
Did you ever get a chance to talk to or bond with Luke Grimes when he was playing James, before they switched off?
Ellis: I didn’t, but I’m completely… I mean, I can say I’m not going to make a comment, but I just think that, you’re an actor, you’re an actor on a show that’s True Blood, we’re all sitting there going, “You quit your job because … really?” I’m just… I’m over him.
You quit your job because you don’t want to play a gay part? As if it’s—you know what? I’m going to stop talking.

The British actress took to Twitter to slate The Other Woman, the recent romantic comedy starring Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton.

Frank Ocean had initially been booked for a late afternoon slot at Pemberton Music Festival, but a last-minute scheduling change meant that he played after Sunday headliners Outkast. As the final performer of the weekend, he brought things to a mellow, soulful end, acting as a soothing digestif after so much partying.
He appeared on stage alone, silhouetted against a large screen displaying dreamily abstract visuals and hazy colour gradients. At times, he sauntered over to a record player close to his mic stand, dropping the needle and singing along to the tracks. This leant a sense of personal intimacy to a performance that was essentially a one-man karaoke session.
The bulk of the set list came from his 2012 masterpiece Channel Orange. His falsetto reached angelic heights on set opening "Thinkin Bout You" and he rapped Earl Sweatshirt's chorus on "Super Rich Kids." The only disappointment was "Pink Matter," as fans groaned when it ended without a guest appearance from André 3000 (who is featured on the album version, and had just appeared with Outkast at an adjacent stage).
Ocean also dipped into his earlier Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape for the standout "Novocane," its tale of chemically-induced festival oblivion doubtless ringing true to more than a few spectators.
The epic, thumping "Pyramids" would have provided the perfect exclamation mark on the set, but the fans called him back for an encore. Ocean clearly hadn't planned on this finale, but he obliged with the gorgeous "Wise Man," sending campers back to their tents with a mood of calm satisfaction.

“RHOA” reality star and actress Nene Leakes may not be everyone’s cup of tea but there’s one thing she’s extremely good at, and that’s, dragging her haters like filth.
This time, Leakes has got her claws on none other than media maven herself, Wendy Williams.
Nene had more than some choice words for the talk show host. Leakes not only blasted Williams for perpetuating negative gossip but also made sure to point out some of her accomplishments, which, Williams fail to mention while making some not so nice statements regarding Leakes on her show.
In a post, on her official website this morning, Leakes made it clear she did not appreciate Wendy’s continue berate against her, including bashing Leakes’ RHOA image.
Here’s what she had to say:
"Wendy I am sure people think that I’ve done something to you, maybe we had a beef or I slept with your man but none of that is true! I’ve actually only been nice to you! I gave you a beautiful black $3,200 Celine Phantom Bag to celebrate your 500th show but you haven’t spoken of that! But what you have chosen to do is constantly speak negative of me and lie on me! What you need to do is stop spewing hate! When it comes to gossip you are the lowest of the low! I know you hate because I turned down the chance to come on your Talk Show and I am sure you’re scared I will take your place (I know you have heard! Ummhmm wink wink) BE SCARED! I have a clothing line on HSN coming out in a few days and I know it must be hard for a black woman to support another black woman but you should try it sometime. PS: My Birkin is being turned into a work of art to raise money for a worthy charity something you fail to mention on your show! I don’t have one Birkin I have five now run tell that WIG."
The message was accompanied by the below image of the Birkin bag, engraved with her most memorable catch phrases, Leakes speaks of.
Women who achieve lofty positions in politics or business often find themselves facing a particular (and predictably brutal) publicity cycle. It goes like this: Get dolled up for Vogue, then get trashed online. Critics are all but guaranteed to decry a powerful woman’s appearance in a women’s magazine as a backward step, a concession to the demands of sexist, elitist fluff, be it Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Marissa Mayer, or Wendy Davis.
Most recently, Politico declared that “women's magazines demean powerful women — even when they're trying to celebrate them,” a dynamic Politico referred to as “the princess effect.” Writer Sarah Kendzior argued that former Obama staffer Alyssa Mastromonaco’s new gig as a Marie Claire contributing editor symbolized an intellectual flattening of women perpetrated by the media on the whole. “The personal is political,” she wrote, “but for women, the political is removed from the person, replaced by trite obsessions with clothes, hair, child care choices and exercise routines.” On one hand, it’s nice to see people questioning the media’s gendered assumptions and expectations. (Why should women — and not men — always have to answer questions about work-life balance or personal style?) But by dismissing women’s magazines and their concerns as inherently trivial, arguments like Kendzior’s perpetuate sexism in a different way. That’s why it’s so heartening to see some powerful women siding with the supposedly demeaning lady mags — and publicly defending that choice. After all, why should we consider clothes and child care such insulting topics in the first place? Why shouldn’t those conversations coexist with ambition and professional accomplishments?

“YANN Calls…” is a new webseries that premiered today. Every week, Brazilian artist Yann video-chats with a different celebrity guest. Aside from talking about their careers, they also discuss social topics that are relevant with the guest’s achievements.
The first episode is with the queen of Burlesque herself, Dita Von Teese, where she talks about everything from female objectification to Madonna and even the movie starring Cher and Christina Aguilera.
After being asked which pop stars she feels have incorporated elements of Burlesque successfully into their performances, Dita Von Teese says…
Madonna is one of the only popstars ever in history… if you watch her career, she’s smart, she knows her research. Every persona she has taken on she’s translated to the very heights of where it could go. I don’t see anybody in modern pop music that can really do that. When I look at Madonna, I see that she gets every detail correct, and she has a good team too, but it takes someone’s leading at the top to really arrive to that.
That’s why when I see pop shows I’m like ‘oh wow this isn’t very interesting’, you know, Madonna was wearing Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture on stage in the 90s.
When asked if she listens to the radio, she quickly replies…
I don’t listen to anything on the radio. I don’t think there’s any good music being played on the radio. There’s such an industry now and so policitcal of what gets played..
I don’t hear anything [on the radio today] that’s relative to Prince, David Bowie, and Madonna. Stuff that really stands the test of time. I don’t…
Actress Nia Long is the new face of Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds Lustre perfume – making her the first person to front the fragrance other than the classic Hollywood actress herself.
The mother-of-two, famous for her TV roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Third Watch, said of the fragrance in a press release: ‘Elizabeth Taylor said White Diamonds was her “Diamonds In A Bottle,” and that's what Lustre really is to me – Lustre just adds that extra sparkle. I personally love the juicy pear and raspberry notes in Lustre – it gives it a fresh, fruity feminine touch.’
Jezebel speculates that Ms Long, will appear in both TV and print advertisements for the perfume.
Until this point Taylor - who died in 2011 - has posthumously appeared in ads for the fragrance, as marketers have continued to air TV spots that were filmed years before her death.
The ads would run at a particularly high frequency during the holiday months when fragrance sales hit their yearly peak.
White Diamonds, launched in 1991, was once named ‘the most popular celebrity fragrance in the world,’ by The Hollywood Reporter.
Recent sales statistics show that it has grossed $1billion in sales in the last 23 years – a number that has yet to be matched by other products in the ever-expanding celebrity fragrance category.
Produced by Elizabeth Arden, White Diamonds has gone on to launch variations including Lustre, which was developed to include lighter, fruitier notes.

Rapaport, who is producing and directing his new film My Man is a Loser, denounced the filmmaker a “shit stain” who is playing the race card when he discusses gentrification in New York. Then, he went on to disparage Lee’s filmmaking career.
“When’s the last Spike Lee film you saw?” Rapaport asked host Marc Lamont Hill. “Nobody goes to see them shits and that's why he was on Kickstarter.”
Despite coming to talk about his new film, Rapaport instead appropriated the balance of his interview time addressing Lee, who during a May interview on HuffPost Live called Rapaport “stupid” and said he “doesn’t know what he’s fucking talking about.”
Lee also discounted Rapaport’s talents as a director, to which Rapaport fired back Tuesday, “I’m going to see him sooner or later,” Rapaport said, which some took as a a threat. “I wanna see you say ‘you’re stupid and your movie sucks’ right to my face.”
Lee, whose industry beefs are legendary and go way back to the time he slammed Morgan Freeman fiercely for his subservient role in Driving Miss Daisy, responded to Rapaport saying a month earlier that Spike Lee had no business talking about Brooklyn’s gentrification since Lee lives on the Upper East Side in the neighboring borough of Manhattan.
EDIT: Since a lot of people are commenting about it, I feel like I should point out he never actually uses the term "race card" but he did say Spike was making it about race.

Giovani Dos Santos and Belinda may have agreed to just be friends in 2010, but the two are now at odds.
The whole thing started when someone posted a video of Dos Santos, where he appears to be intoxicated and sitting beside a woman. Belinda felt compelled to link to the video and criticize her ex-boyfriend.
In a now-deleted Tweet, she said, "I can't believe how people change. I don't even know him."
She added a broken heart and two shocked face emojis.
The soccer player didn't stay quiet on the subject, and he replied to her.
He said, "It's easy to make a mistake in life, but it's not fair to take advantage of an old video. I've always been a gentleman to you. God Bless you."
About an hour later, he said, "...I see that you still miss me..."
Belinda and Dos Santos first met in 2006 when she filmed Disney's "Cheetah Girls 2" in Barcelona, notes Quien. But they didn't start dating until 2008.
The singer and actress explained said to a reporter than when Dos Santos puts a fist to his forehead to celebrate a goal, he was dedicating it to her.
On July 2009, he arrived in Mexico to play soccer, and he was bombarded by questions about his relationship with Belinda. When asked if he loved they pop singer, he responded by saying, "Very much. Very much."
A month later, it was reported that Belinda was unfaithful to the soccer player. She denied it, but it seemed like the beginning of the end for the two.
In May 2010, Belinda released a statement on her Twitter account.
"Good morning!!! I just saw the magazine Caras! The photos are incredible, only I want to say that it was done a while ago and the content regarding my relationship with Giovani has now changed... Our relationship has ended... Work, distance...We are friends now. Thanks."

Now Stephen S. DeKnight, the showrunner of the upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix, told Marvel's own online reporter, that the show would go in similar direction, "a kind of very gritty, 1970s New York feel."
Here’s what he actually has to say about the show while at the red carpet premiere for Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.
“We’re going for a very gritty, 1970s New York feel for the ['Daredevil'] show. We love the idea of beauty in the decay of the city, and Hell’s Kitchen being a place that is both horrible and beautiful at the same time. That’s why Matt Murdock loves it so much and wants to protect it.”
You can watch the actual clip the quote is from below!
One would assume that this is just the planned feel for Hell’s Kitchen so that future crossovers with existing characters could feasibly happen. In fact, this is a very similar feel seen in Joe Carnahan‘s sizzle reel before the rights of ‘Daredevil’ reverted back to Marvel.

A pine tree planted in 2004 in memory of former Beatle George Harrison in a Los Angeles park has died after being infested by beetles.
The sapling was planted in the city's Griffith Park near the observatory.
Harrison, who died in 2001, spent his final days in LA and was a keen gardener.
Council officer Tom LaBonge told the LA Times the memorial had grown to more than 10 feet tall in 2013, but the tree beetle attack had overwhelmed it.
A new tree will be planted at a date yet to be decided.
A small plaque at the base of the tree read: "In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener."
It also quotes the guitarist and singer-songwriter himself: "For the forests to be green, each tree must be green."
Last year, a blue plaque was unveiled in London for Harrison and fellow Beatle, John Lennon.
The commemoration was at 94 Baker Street, which was the site of the now dissolved Apple Boutique clothing store. It was owned in the 1960s by Apple Corps Ltd, a company formed by the band.
This makes me sad. But also:
You may recognize Kaya from her role as Effy on the UK version of Skins (or not), but rumors indicate Kaya has been cast in an undisclosed role on the upcoming 5th season of HBO's massive hit Game of Thrones. There is speculation that Kaya may be playing one of the beautiful "sand snakes" as Dorne is set to become a pivotal location this season. Shooting resumes in Tunisia in October so we're sure to learn more by then.
I don't believe it since the website is dedicated to half naked girls, tacos and cars.
