Noël Wells and John Milhiser also leaving SNL

“Saturday Night Live” has given two more freshman cast members the boot, and is losing one of its seasoned players, sources confirm.

NBC has chosen not to renew the contracts of newcomers Noël Wells and John Milhiser. The news comes after Brooks Wheelan, also a first-year cast member, announced on Twitter on Monday that he was fired from the show.

Five-season cast member Nasim Pedrad is also leaving, as she will co-star in Fox comedy “Mulaney.” “SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels also exec produces the show.

A NBC rep said that the network does not comment on “SNL” casting changes.

Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello Premieres 'Wasted Love'

"I wanted to find a great balance between dance and indie, and I kind of held back a lot just to create that moment where it's about the melodies and the songs."

With Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello proved that dance music could sell out American arenas. Since the trio parted ways, he's been headlining the biggest festivals in the world. Now, at age 31, he's ready to release his first album. "I've been working on it for almost the past two years," he tells Rolling Stone. "It's been more like a self-discovery than just been going into the studio to satisfy consumers." That result of this self-discovery, Wild Youth, won't come out until the fall, but here you can stream its lead track "Wasted Love" (release date: July 22nd) and read Angello tell the story behind it, recall collaborating with Pharrell and discuss the dissolution of his old group.

Engadget tech site founder posts 18 min cancellation "interrogation" by Comcast representative

No one knows which circle of hell exactly a phone call with a belligerent Comcast rep who wont let you cancel service belongs, but suffice it to say it's probably near the bottom.

That would most likely be confirmed by Ryan Block, the co-founder of tech site Engadget, who found himself enduring a torturous 18 minute interrogation of a phone call with a barking Comcast employee who demanded to know why he wanted to choose another cable provider.

Astounded by the rep who simply and rudely would not take no for an answer, Block shared eight minutes of the infuriating conversation online for all to hear - which prompted an 'embarrassed' Comcast to issue a full and unreserved apology.

Rose McGowan Blasts Instagram Users After They Say She Resembles Michael Jackson

Oh dear. Rose McGowan went on the defensive on Tuesday, July 15, blasting Instagram users who commented on a photo saying she looked like Michael Jackson.

It all started when the Charmed actress posted a picture of herself wearing sunglasses, with the simple caption, "Afghanistan." One commenter then wrote, "You look like Michael Jackson," while another by the name @Katrinabunny commented: "#michaeljackson no more plastic surgery please!"

McGowan immediately replied to the user, writing, "@katrinabunny coming from, ummm, you." The actress, who got reconstructive surgery after being in a car accident in 2007, went on to write: "Has anyone stopped to think that Michael Jackson used to be black, and tried to turn himself into a white, possibly Irish person with a cleft chin and a tiny nose? I was born Irish. So f--k off losers."

While some commenters came to McGowan's defense, the actress was still clearly upset. Wanting to make a point, she posted a side-by-side picture of Michael Jackson before and after his surgeries, with the caption: "Exactly. You dumb f--ks. Eat it."

McGowan later moved on from the tiff and posted another selfie, this time presumably in the back of a cab, with the caption: "An alien in NY.

Brian May talks Queen's NZ return + Adam Lambert candids

Queen, one of the biggest-selling, best-loved and most enduring bands in rock history is heading to Auckland for the first time in nearly 30 years. Yes, you read that correctly.

Despite the death of the band's flamboyant frontman Freddie Mercury in 1991, Queen is playing Vector Area on Wednesday, September 3 - with American Idol star Adam Lambert on vocals. Lambert first performed with original Queen members guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor in 2009, on the television singing competition that launched his solo career. The band and Lambert have since toured together, first in Europe in 2012 and in the United States and Canada in recent months, where they have been winning rave reviews from critics.

Speaking to Timeout from Toronto this week, May said he was heartened by the social media reaction to Lambert's stage performance from diehard Queen fans who might be sceptical about the combo.

"The fit is incredibly good and, from the point of view of Queen fans, Adam is just 100 per cent better than anyone realised.

"Adam has got a voice in a billion and his range is stupendous and he has now learned, as Freddie did, to bring it into harness - he's not a boy anymore and his interpretation of songs is breathtaking."

Leah Remini talks JLO and "horrendous" DWTS experience!!!!!

Leah Remini dished on everything from JLO to her “Dancing With The Stars” experience in a new interview with me, Jenny Hutt on my SiriusXM show “Just Jenny” airing Thursday, July 17. "Hammered" Charlie Sheen Meets a Fan at the Taco Bell Drive-Thru

Sometimes the meandering course of one's #winning finds one drunk and craving Taco Bell of an evening, so one does the natural thing and has Gary fire up the car and take one's hammered ass to the drive-thru.

"Sorry I'm so fuckin' hammered," one will sheepishly apologize, after ignoring Gary's advice and stumbling up to the two fans in the car behind you. But they're cool with it, because one is Charlie Sheen, professional winner, and they're always cool with it.

"Let 'em go!" Gary shouts. Your Doritos Locos await.

Later, on a massive waterbed strewn with packets of Fire sauce, one reflects, "Those tattoos were a great idea," and is soon overtaken by a gauzy sleep and dreams of porn stars.

Life is awesome.

Two Drag Race flops go into a bar, and one of them TRIES to slay.

Mimi Imfurst, one of the infamous contestants of RPDR who did fuck it up( and not once, but twice,) has turned lemons into a lucrative lemonade stand by hosting her own live version that combines elements of RPDR and The Voice. The show places Imfurst in the seat of RuPaul, the only difference is that the contestants actually perform every week instead of the oddball challenges, which rarely relate to drag, that RPDR seems to force it's contestants into.

The show is entering it's fourth "cycle" but they're actually on cycle 6 if you include their all-stars cycle, as well as their faux/bio-queen cycle. As a Philadelphia local I've gone to this a few times and it's a lot of fun mainly because it's live. Mimi is a small part of the show but without her this kind of shit wouldn't happen. And one of the sponsors gave out TWO ipads.

Arrow EP Teases Season 3's Big Bad, a Big 'Date' and Non-Oliver Flashbacks

After Greg Berlanti appeared at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour to tout the new NBC drama The Mysteries of Laura, TVLine reached out to the uber-producer to solve the mysteries of Arrow Season 3.

Echoing that which series lead Stephen Amell shared with TVLine at the may Upfronts, the Arrow EP said that the next Big Bad will “feel different” from Season 2′s Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke. That said, the incoming adversary “has some personal elements of connectivity to Oliver, which we’ll learn about” — in part via flashbacks, Berlanti allowed. “Hopefully, fans of the DC Universe will be really pleased by who it is.”

Speaking of the show’s flashback device, Berlanti said that Season 3 will “not just flash back from Oliver’s perspective.” As the hit drama has done on rare occasion with the likes of Laurel and Diggle, “There’s some backstory stuff that’s going to come out for some of the other characters.”

One provocative Season 3 plot point that will very much take place in the here and now, meanwhile, involves Oliver, a certain blonde beauty and the popping of a question.

Marvel Announcing Another Classic Character Change-up Tonight on ‘The Colbert Report’

Marvel Entertainment made waves of headlines yesterday when it took to ABC’s The View daytime television talk show to announce an all-new Thor comic series that would replace the classic hero with a female version, the first woman to wield the power of the mythical hammer of Norse legend known as Mjolnir. The controversial swap was specifically designed to cater to female readers in an effort for Marvel to expand their audience. If anything, they certainly got the geek world’s attention in their lead-up to San Diego Comic-Con next week.

Marvel is continuing with the momentum today, this time taking to The Colbert Report this evening for another comic book title announcement. Thankfully, this time they were clear that the news is specific to comic books instead of letting many think it could be television or film related. While Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report isn’t Disney-owned like most venues or networks Marvel typically makes its official announcements, host Stephen Colbert has been a longtime collaborator with Marvel. He has a Captain America shield on his shelf on the show and in the comics he was actually a character running for President. He even won the popular vote against President Obama in Marvel’s mainstay 616 universe (the main series of Marvel comics).

Adele is poised to return to her throne and hopefully shake the music world up again, but the real question is the theme of the album. 21 was filled with break up anthems, but with all of her success since it's release, 25 could be a lighter and happier album this time.

#Shmoney Dance Taking Over, Beyonce Does The Dance, Jay Z With The Shoutout At Met Life Stadium

Bobby Shmurda has had the streets talking and dancing (literally) for the past 2 weeks to his hit street record, “Hot N***a”. It wasn’t long before artists like Meek Mill, and Fab acknowledged the young man. However, Jay Z and Beyonce’s On The Run Tour stopped just near Hov’s hometown of Brooklyn at The MetLife stadium. Right before Beyonce got into “Flawless”, she did what appeared to be her version of the “Shmoney Dance”.

The couple is so low-key who would’ve thought they even knew what the #shmoneydance was; clearly nobody had any idea this was coming.  Go Bey.

UPDATE:In the middle of Jay’s set, he performed one of his hits from Magna Carta Holy Grail “F*ckwithmeyouknowigotit”, and even the almighty Hov acknowledged Bobby Shmurda by inserting “Shmoney Dance” in one of the songs notorious lines, changing “Come money dance with the good fellas” to “Come #shmoney dance with the good fellas”.

Chris Brown is assaulting Drake again ... this time right in the mouth -- but truth be told it's part of a comedy skit at Wednesday's ESPY awards.

Last night the Apple Store in SoHo NYC had a very intimate event with Both Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer who came out to chat about the final season of TrueBlood. I didn't get a pic with Stephen since I had previously met him but he was there too.

They were both really charming and hilarious together and mentioned how in disbelief they were that the show had come to an end. They had three of their kids with them and looked amazing. After their talk they took questions from the Audience which were pretty awkward. One guy said to Anna "You're probably the only person I've seen naked more than myself. Have you gotten more comfortable being naked on camera since starting TrueBlood? You do a better job than they do on Game of Thrones." To which both Anna and Stephen laughed and then she admitted "I've never even seen Game of Thrones but we did it first!"

Nobody Even Understands Bobbi Kristina Brown Anymore

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

That's allegedly Bobbi Kristina, y'all. That's also allegedly Bobbi Kristina smoking some kind of a substance out of a bong, and the photo was posted on her Instagram page, which has since been deleted. If that's not cause enough for a little bit of concern, then maybe the caption itself will fill in any remaining bit you might need to feel some genuine sympathy every time you consider the late Whitney Houston's only daughter.

Here goes nothing:

"This picture may be inappropriate but I want to make a connection with you all. Don't worry this picture isn't recent just hear me out. Do you know what I feel? I feel strange I can't feel any pain anymore. I don't take any drugs as of recently. Things just happened. But then there is some situation that force me to do things and the impact I'll feel pain. I did and I do. I was hurt. People kinda expect more from me. But I can't. I have lost my sense. It just happened. Then here we go again I'm in the same pain. I'm hurt. I'm trying to. I really do. But I know that I'm hurt and in pain but I can feel it but I don't know what it is ... What do I really do? God, Help me ignore and rebuke what these demons are saying, in Jesus Name. Amen."

After people caught it on the internet, the photo on Bobbi's IG page -- and then the page itself -- mysteriously disappeared. Shortly after, she addressed the pic on Twitter:

Whatever's happening -- or not -- to Bobbi is pretty sad. Whether she actually did post the photo with the above accompanying caption, or if someone really is hacking her life, trying to bring her down, it all boils down to one thing, and that one thing is sadness.

Chin up, girl.

i'm still upset that she is still Bobbi Kristina, instead of Kristina Houston like she said she was going to change it to.

Cote de Pablo starring in CBS miniseries "The Dovekeepers"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Cote de Pablo is returning to CBS.

The NCIS alum has been cast to star in the network's 2015 miniseries The Dovekeepers, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From Roma Downey and Mark Burnett (The Bible, Survivor) the four-hour miniseries is based on Alice Hoffman's historical novel The Dovekeepers. The story centers on four women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada. Set in ancient Israel, The Dovekeepers is based on the true events at Masada in 70 C.E. After being forced out of their home in Jerusalem by the Romans, 900 Jews were ensconced in a fortress at Masada, a mountain in the Judean desert. Besieged at Masada, the Jews held out for months against the vast Roman armies. The mini will recount the unfolding events from the perspective of four women who arrive at Masada independently and with unique backstories, but who share a common bond for survival.

De Pablo will play Shirah, one of the four women. The character is a sensual, mysterious and fiercely independent single mother with uncanny insights and a quiet and mysterious power. She's derided by many as the "Witch of Moab," as she covertly practices forbidden ancient rites of magic and is keenly knowledgeable about herbal remedies. However, those in need don't hesitate to approach her for her help and generosity of spirit.

"Her talent, strength and beauty will light up the screen in the important role of Shirah," Downey said of de Pablo.

Emily Chang joins Vampire Diaries Season 6

'Vampire Diaries' Adds 'Unexpected' Character for Season 6

The Vampire Diaries is adding a new character who may not be who she seems.

On the heels of Eureka star Colin Ferguson joining the sixth season, The CW drama will be introducing the recurring character of Ivy, described as sweet and sincere. Actress Emily C. Chang, whose credits include Days of Our Lives and Total Recall, has booked the role.

Not much is known about Ivy, only that she's "the quintessential girl next door with an unexpected wild side" — but knowing Vampire Diaries, the tide will turn sooner rather than later. She will first appear in the sixth-season premiere.

Following the May finale, Plec told The Hollywood Reporter that she was approaching the new season like a restart. "The way we look at it, season six is a beautiful and organic reset. The theme of the season is everybody gets to start over. That's what we're going to do," she said at the time.

"We're trying to take the show away from the massive genre extravaganza where each season we try to top each other with the bigger, bad, more exciting mythologies and boil it back down to the beginning," Plec promised.
Season six will return Matt Davis and fan favorite Michael Malarkey as series regulars.

Chang, who guest starred on Community, How I Met Your Mother, Bones and NCIS, is repped by Sovereign Talent Group and Velocity Entertainment. The Vampire Diaries premieres Oct. 2 on The CW.

Sia Earns First No. 1 Album On Billboard 200 with '1000 Forms of Fear'

Singer-songwriter Sia nabs her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 — and her best sales week ever — as "1000 Forms of Fear" debuts atop the list. The new album, released on Monkey Puzzle through RCA Records, sold 52,000 copies in the week ending July 13, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album was released Tuesday, July 8.

Sia took a rather unconventional route to promoting her album. She opted not to show her face during TV performances of the album's single "Chandelier," and didn’t pose for traditional photo shoots. Instead, she performed on TV with her back to the camera while a dancer (or dancers) interpreted the song — as seen recently on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Late Night With Seth Meyers" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

The promotion of the album effectively launched with her uniquely photographed Billboard magazine cover story last year. She was pictured on the Nov. 2 cover with a bag over her head that read, in part, "This artist is responsible for over 12 million track sales … and doesn't want to be famous."

Sia previously charted twice on the Billboard 200, with 2008's No. 26-peaking "Some People Have Real Problems" and 2010's No. 37 hit "We Are Born." ("Some People" logged Sia's previous biggest sales frame, when it launched with 20,000.) Prior to that, she reached the Heatseekers Albums chart with 2006's "Colour the Small One" (No. 14).

sia-1000-forms-of-fear-650Sia is probably best-known as the female voice heard on David Guetta's "Titanium" and Flo Rida's "Wild Ones," both of which were top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. She also co-wrote Rihanna's No. 1 smash "Diamonds," Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)," Beyonce's "Pretty Hurts" and Britney Spears' "Perfume," among other tunes.

"Chandelier," meanwhile, recently became Sia's first top 20 hit on the Hot 100as a lead artist. It jumped 20-17 on the chart dated July 19.

Kate Upton and boyfriend Justin Verlander spend All-Star Break in Mexico

It seems the mystery has been solved. A series of photos posted online shows Verlander lounging on a beach with noted bikini model and girlfriend Kate Upton.

Don’t expect to see any reports from Verlander about his excursion in the next couple days. Before he left, he said, “I’m going to relax somewhere pretty private -- and won’t be tweeting.”

Shakira Is Pregnant With Second Child, Colombian News Outlets Report

Shakira has a bun in the oven, again.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

News outlets in the singer’s native Colombia have reportedly confirmed rumors that Shakira and her soccer player boyfriend Gerard Pique are going to be parents again.

Following the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer’s performance before the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina, rumors began to swirl that she was pregnant: she wore a conservative outfit.

The Barranquilla native is known for her sexy and provocative style during performances, so her red get up at the World Cup raised some flags.

Caracol Noticias in Colombia, the first media outlet to report on the pregnancy, said the singer is about three months pregnant and taking a lot of precautions with her health and nutrition.

Fox News Latino has reached out to the singer’s rep for confirmation. Neither Shakira or Pique have confirmed the rumors via social media.

Shakira, 37 and Pique, 27, welcomed their son Milan in January 2013.

CM Punk Officially Done ?

CM Punk's first comments on WWE since walking out

By Geno Mrosko

Shortly after news broke that WWE had removed CM Punk from its active roster and to its Alumni section on WWE.com, the man himself finally broke his silence since walking out in a simple tweet.

These are his first official comments on the situation since he left back in January:

While there are still reports that his contract doesn't expire until Thursday, it's at least possible those reports were a couple days off and he's officially a free man. Or maybe he was just waiting for WWE to make it official so he could finally break his silence. Or maybe the timing was just right.

ABC’s Paul Lee Talks Diversity, Scheduling and Last Season’s Stumbles

The diversity featured in ABC’s upcoming primetime lineup is no accident, ABC Entertainment Group prexy Paul Lee told reporters Tuesday at the Television Critics Assn. press tour.

ABC has a high volume of shows that come from minority creators and showrunners, and shows that deal directly with racial and ethnic experiences, such as comedies “Fresh Off the Boat,” “Cristela” and “Blackish.”

“It is a mission statement to reflect America,” he said. “In a way it’s not so much diversity as it is authenticity.”

Lee emphasized that the shows were picked up on their merits, because they featured “authentic, relatable stories” from solid showrunners such as John Ridley (“American Crime”) and “Shonda Rhimes (“How to Get Away With Murder”).

Dermot Mulroney Joins Showtime's ‘Shameless’ in Major Arc

Dermot Mulroney just made a “Shameless” career move.

The “My Best Friend's Wedding” actor has signed on for a season-long arc on the Showtime comedy “Shameless.”

Appearing in Season 5 of the series, Mulroney will play ex-bad boy and recovering addict Sean Pierce, who works as a manager at Patsy's Pies, where he manages Fiona (Emmy Rossum).

Fiona and Sean's relationship turns flirtatious and, as tension grows, they struggle to overcome their weakness for each other.

“Shameless,” which has received three Emmy nominations this year including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for William H. Macy, is based on the U.K. series of the same title.

Chris Brown Got His Hair Did!

The singer, who is known for experimenting with his head, has failed to WOW with his latest do. If Chris Brown's new hair cut is his way of starting fresh then he might want to rethink it. The singer, who was released from prison last month after serving more than 100 days, posted a snap of his do on Instagram for his 3.8million followers to take a gander at.

But perhaps the star should have considered keeping it to himself until he was sure it suited him because from where we're standing it's less 'hit' and more 'miss'.

His post-jail weave seems to have quite a bit of product to keep it in place and has been tightly combed across his head. In the shot the 25-year-old is looking down from the camera and sporting a large pair of black glasses.

Underneath, the caption reads: 'Taking it back to the 30s! Lol'.

To give credit where it's due, this is a step-up from some of his previous styles which have been nothing short of a disaster.

At least he's put the hair dye away after illuminating his head with some funky colours over the years- remember his greeny tint. It'll be interesting to see what his on/off girlfriend Karreuche Tran makes of his sudden change in appearance.

The twosome were rumoured to have split after the Look At Me Now singer posted a racy picture of his 26-year-old girl's bottom.

Further fuel was added to the fire when the chart-topper was photographed hugging a mystery woman in a car park. But the couple appeared to have reunited as they stepped out together in Hollywood to brush off the rumours.

There looks like further trouble could be ahead for them as Chris' ex Rihanna still seems to be in the picture.

Karreuche broke down when explaining that she's "fighting a battle" against the Umbrella singer and her 14 million fans.

LOL. Favorite Chris Brown song?

Imprisoned Manuel Noriega sues Activision for using his name, likeness

Imprisoned former dictator Manuel Noriega, 80, is suing Activision Blizzard for using his name and likeness in "Call of Duty: Black Ops II." The game was released in 2012 and features a character named Manuel Noriega assisting the CIA, and then the character betrays the U.S. later in the game.

Noriega, the former leader of Panama, is serving a 20-year sentence in Panama, after already serving prison sentences in the United States and France. He is seeking damages and lost profits, claiming his character helped boost game sales. There have been a few high-profile lawsuits regarding video game character likeness, but this one will prove to be especially tricky to prove:

"In the U.S., individuals have what's called the right to publicity, which gives them control over how their person is depicted in commerce including video games," said Jas Purewal, interactive entertainment lawyer, in a statement to BBC. "But Noriega isn't a U.S. citizen or even a resident. This means that his legal claim becomes questionable, because it's unclear on what legal basis he can actually bring a case against Activision."

Mesut Ozil donates world cup winnings to Gaza
apparently it's not true :(

German footballer Mesut Ozil, who plays for Arsenal, reportedly said he is donating his World Cup earnings to the children of Gaza following his country's triumph in the cup.

The German Football Association awarded each of the team's players a €300,000 bonus for winning the cup, in addition to €150,000 following their semi-final win and other rewards for every game.

Ozil caused controversy after he declined to shake hands with a FIFA official because of his support for Israel.

Bright Light, Dark World: Lana Del Rey's Technicolor Style Statements

Tracking the singer's turn toward the ultraviolet, just in time for 'Ultraviolence'

Though Lana Del Rey is a model and H&M brand girl, her personal style has been a bit hard to pin down: onstage, she's been the vision of innocence, usually gussied for ditching church in pristine white lace and satin gowns. Offstage, she's the portrait of ultra-casual, doing jeans and ballet flats, T-shirts and cardigans, as typically American as the "Star-Spangled Banner" and Starbucks.

It's a fashion duality that's equally reflected in her lyrics and musical persona, a bored, sweet woman with a bad streak. But leading up to the release of her second album Ultraviolence, she's been going all 7th season of Mad Men on us: like the show has transitioned from the innocent mid-Sixties to topsy-turvy, psychedelic '69, Lana Del Rey has mostly closeted her all-white, all-innocent stage gear for appropriately technicolor mini-dresses and multi-hued gowns. And with it, she has become what we've always suspected she is: a bright light in a dark world.

The Strain: Guillermo del Toro's series could make for a bloody good time

What’s the name of the show? The Strain

When does (did) it premiere? Sunday, 13 July at 10pm on FX

What is this show? US television is having a baroque horror moment. After the camp of American Horror Story and the eerie mishmash of Penny Dreadful now there's The Strain, a show that takes all the conventions of vampires and gives them a spin for the modern age. This time a blood-thirsty parasite sucks dry all the passengers on a plane, infecting all but four mysterious survivors. Luckily there is a crack team at the CDC who is trying to figure out what this is and how to stop it. I hope it has something to do with garlic.

Are the worm things as gross as they are in the ads? They’re pretty gross, but not that gross. At least none of the worms have come out of someone’s eye. Yet.

15 (5) Summer Box Office Disasters from the Last 20 Years

The inside story of the summer movies that lost a fortune, from Catwoman to The Lone Ranger

We are near the height of the summer movie season right now, and overall it's been a pretty good year for Hollywood. Transformers: Age of Extinction and X-Men: Days of Future Past have made an absolute fortune, but it's always more fun to talk about the bombs.

Studios are quite willing to spend upwards of $300 million on a movie if it means they might make $1 billion — so when something bellyflops it can hit the ground especially hard. Many of the biggest summer box office disasters have hit during the past two decades. Here's a look at 15 of them, complete with budget and worldwide box office grosses (per BoxOfficeMojo.com).

Teen accuses Instagram of size discrimination after her account was removed for underwear selfie

A 19-year-old college student from Ohio is accusing Instagram of size discrimination after her account was removed following a photo she took of herself in a bra and boy shorts.

Samm Newman, who is U.S. size 24, told NBC4i that the modest polka dot underwear covered her in the image, adding: 'I've seen [lingerie] pictures like that all over Instagram.'

Instagram, which has guidelines against sharing photos that show nudity, removed Miss Newman's account for 'violating community guidelines', but the social media platform has since apologized, saying it 'wrongly removed content and worked to rectify the error as soon as we were notified'.

'When our team processes reports from other members of the Instagram community, we occasionally make a mistake,' explained a spokesperson for Instagram, who added that the company acted off a user complaint in this instance. 'We apologize for any inconvenience.'

Paradoxically, Miss Newman, who was bullied through junior high and high school, said her self-confidence improved when she got into college thanks to support she found online.

Sony TV’s ‘Powers’: Susan Heyward Lands Leading Role in PlayStation Series Read More: Powers TV Ser

Sony TV’s forthcoming original PlayStation drama ‘Powers‘ has been through quite a few iterations in development, even originally shooting an FX pilot, but now it seems the superhero serial is finally coming together. ‘The Following‘ star Susan Heyward has landed the leading role of Detective Deena Pilgrim, while two more have also been added to the cast.

In addition to Heyward’s role as “wunderkind detective with edgy style” Pilgrim, Deadline reveals that ‘The Killing‘ star Max Fowler will play Krispin Stockley, son to the as-yet-uncast Christian Walker’s murdered partner. ‘Breaking Bad”s Adam Godley will play Captain Cross, described as bookish, respectful and loyal but harboring his own secret agenda. For those unfamiliar with ‘Powers,’ here’s how Sony describes the superhero series based on Brian Michael Bendis’ work:

Scandal's Shonda Rhimes Reveals Harrison's Fate, Talks Season of Abby

When Scandal returns, the ABC political fixer drama will waste no time resolving many of the jaw-dropping cliff-hangers that fans have been discussing all summer.

In the Season 3 finale, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) inadvertently fulfilled her father Rowan's (Joe Morton) wishes by boarding a plane with Jake (Scott Foley), leaving behind Washington D.C. and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). Little did she know, daddy dearest murdered Fitz and Mellie's (Bellamy Young) son in a bid to become Command of B613 again and insure that POTUS would stay in office.

The only person who figured it out was the one man who had a gun pointed at his head in the closing moments of the finale. And Harrison's fate is certainly up in the air now that Columbus Short will not be returning to the show. So, what does this mean for the Gladiators in Season 4? TVGuide.com sat down with showrunner Shonda Rhimes to get the scoop:

Is there a time jump going into Season 4?
Shonda Rhimes: When we leave, she's on a plane headed to God knows where. When we come back into the season, we find ourselves is a surprising place both time-wise and location-wise.

Papa Pope all but tricked her into getting on the plane. How will she feel once she finds out she was duped and played right into her father's hands?
Rhimes: Do you think that she finds out? I hope that she finds out, but perhaps she does not.

Whitney Houston Lifetime Movie to Include Her Music, but Not Her Voice: Who Will Be Singing?

Lifetime's upcoming Whitney Houston movie can't come any sooner.

And I'm more than happy to report that the production will feature some of the late singing legend's music.

However, there is one hitch—we won't actually be hearing the voice of Houston or Yaya DaCosta, the former America's Next Top Model hopeful who is playing her in the Angela Bassett-directed film. I can exclusively reveal that Houston's songs will be sung by...R&B singer Deborah Cox!

A Lifetime rep tells me that "music rights and clearances are still being worked out," but Cox will be providing the "vocal tracks."

And can we just get an amen on America finally offering up a girl group with chops as impressive as this?

Now, what you likely haven’t heard is 5H belting out the bombastic “Bo$$” during a stripped-down, acoustic performance. And that’s just what we have for you above. While hanging out with us and shooting the above Idolator Sessions clip, the girls proved that their “Bo$$” is a song that works with more than just one style of performance.

Viola Davis Says Television Gives Her More Interesting Characters To Play Than Feature Films

In a sort of a follow up to my piece yesterday regarding Sophie Okonedo’s comments on the lack of opportunities for her as an actress in the U.K. compared to the States (HERE), here’s Viola Davis making a somewhat related comment, saying that television has given her opportunities that are far more interesting and complex, that she hasn’t been able to get in features films.

Yesterday, at the Television Critics Press Tour in Los Angeles, where she appeared to promote her new ABC series, "How to Get Away with Murder," executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Davis shared: "I have gotten so many wonderful film roles, but I’ve gotten even more film roles where I haven’t been the show. It’s like I’ve been invited to a really fabulous party only to hold up the wall. I wanted to be the show.”

She continued on to say that it has been a struggle to get more out of the film roles she has played: “I spent too much time in my career just trying to force writers to write for me in a way that was bold."

And then she personally thanked Pete Norwalk, the creator of her new ABC show she stars in, “for giving (me) a role that allowed (me) to be alternately commanding, personally messy and sexual.

What Davis said is probably true as well for Kerry Washington, Alfre Woodard and Halle Berry, who currently stars in the new CBS series "Extant."

So is television the preferred and most likely venue for black actresses today? And what would it take for black actresses to start seeing more interesting and complex roles in feature films? More black female filmmakers writing and directing their own projects?

Sophie Okonedo Says She Struggles to Find Acting Roles in the UK & Sees Better Roles in the USA

Sophie Okonedo seems to be one of busiest actresses working today. But according to her, things aren't all that they seem. In fact, in a recent interview in The Guardian, the Oscar nominated actress says that she finds it very difficult to get acting roles in the U.K., unlike in the U.S., where she gets more opportunities.

As she says in the article: "I do notice that – over the last year – I've had maybe two scripts from England and tens and tens from America. The balance is ridiculous. I'm still struggling [in the UK] in a way that my white counterparts at the same level wouldn't have quite the same struggle”

She goes on to say that: “People who started with me would have their own series by now, and I'm still fighting to get the second lead or whatever. I think I'm at a certain level and have a good range, so why isn't my inbox of English scripts busting at the seams in the same way as my American one is? There's something amiss there."

Laurence Fishburne Confirms He Will Be Back For 'Hannibal' Season 3

It hasn't been a ratings blockbuster by any means, but NBC’s grisly and gory suspense/horror series "Hannibal," one of the best shows currently on television, has, over the past 2 seasons, developed a loyal and devoted following. And since it’s mainly financed with foreign production money, it doesn’t cost NBC anything to make it, so it’s no wonder that the show has been renewed for a third season, stating sometime in 2015.

The big surprise, however, is that Laurence Fishburne has announced that he will be coming back to the show.

Any regular watchers of the series know that last season left a few characters and their fates hanging in the balance, including Fishburne, who plays FBI agent Jack Crawford, and who, as you can see above, got involved in an epic and very bloody fight with Hannibal Lecter, played by Mads Mikkelsen, in the series finale (which also opened season 2).

However, when Fishburne signed on for the ABC sitcom "Black-ish," premiering this fall, it was assumed that Crawford didn’t make it after all.

Au contraire...

Today, at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, Fishburne revealed that he would indeed be returning to Hannibal next season, and will be splitting his time between that show and "Black-ish."

Of course he refused to go into details but did say that he would be "a recurring presence on both Hannibal and Black-ish in an arrangement he made to continue his involvement with both series."

Six (3) reasons graduates need to watch and learn from 'Chef' + Blu-ray release date.

With a personality as flavourful as his career, Jon Favreau has been a firm favourite for as long as I can remember. The 47 year old actor-turned-director was the saving grace of Couples Retreat; added light relief whilst leveling the overall tone in the Iron Man series (which he both acted in and produced); and has harked back to his indie roots in his latest release, Chef.

So, when Shadow locked was offered time with the iconic actor/director/producer, you’d of been hard pushed to find someone with more of a genuine passion for an interview. Unfortunately though, the PR in question didn’t agree.

Perhaps there were hungrier, more delicious invites for Mr. Favreau, or maybe it was decided that our entree sized application wasn’t worthy of the films mighty appetite. Whatever the case we missed out...and to this day I’m upset.

However, ever the professional I refused to let our rejection bitter my passion, instead deciding to view the film as an independent with strong foodie undertones rather than as a work-focused film journalist; and now, having had time to let its performance digest and my thoughts to settle, I’m glad I did.

Gerard Way doing the most to destroy your happy memories of MCR

After releasing his debut solo track, “Action Cat,” and recently speaking about life after My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way has revealed a little more insight into the demise of the band. Speaking in a new interview with Kerrang!, Way revealed that 2006’s The Black Parade was supposed to be the end of MCR. “That was Black Parade, and when the tour basically ended with us conquering the world, we were supposed to ride off into the sunset,” he says.
When asked why the band didn’t end, Way explains how it’s not that simple because of “careers, mortgages, families, crews, people, the machine itself.” Read an excerpt from the interview below, and read the full article on Kerrang!’s website.

Oops! Britney forgets to pay her lunch bill!

Britney Spears had a delicious meal at The Cheesecake Factory and best of all it was FREE ... because she skipped out without paying the bill.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Britney and BF David Lucado were at the Thousand Oaks, CA restaurant where they had an appetizer and a salad.

At the end of the lunch the waitress came over with the $30 bill, and Britney said her security guy would pay it. She and David then walked out -- with a doggie bag.

Problem is ... security never paid.

Britney's people tell TMZ ... she feels "horrible" and it was an honest mistake. The guard thought Britney paid and she believed he paid the bill.

But here's the real headline -- She's worth north of $50 million and she took the salad home in a doggie bag. Waste not, want not.
