Lana Del Rey gets cozy with her new hot Italian photographer boyfriend in Italy

Has Lana Del Rey found amore with another man? It certainly looks that way. The "Young and Beautiful" singer, 28, was photographed this week on what appears to be a romantic trip with her rumored new guy, photographer Francesco Carrozzini, just days after Swiss paper 20 Minuten published an interview in which she reportedly revealed her split from fiance Barrie-James O'Neill.

'Weird Al Is Hitler': Derek Waters on 'Drunk History's New Season

'Weird Al Is Hitler': Derek Waters on 'Drunk History's New Season
The Comedy Central show's co-creator spills the beans on some upcoming celebrity cameos and what to expect in Season Two

Contrary to popular belief, Derek Waters – the mastermind behind the Comedy Central show Drunk History — does not always take his work home with him. "People usually think I'm drunk, but it's just how I talk," says the series host and co-creator in his friendly, languid Baltimore drawl (which does, indeed, share the slight slur of some of his more inebriated guests). "But I'm not drunk right now. This is iced coffee."

Waters hasn't had much time for benders lately; when he calls Rolling Stone from Los Angeles, he is rushing to finish production on the second season of his zany TV show, which kicks off tonight. The series operates on the same hilarious premise as the cult-hit webisodes that preceded its basic-cable iteration: profoundly wasted narrators recount pivotal events in American history as costumed celebrities lip-sync reenactments – cursing, vomiting and wild soapboxing stoically included. Last season, Jack Black, Winona Ryder, Dave Grohl, Kristin Wiig and more famous folks shared the (hiccupping) gospel about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the kidnapping of Patty Hearst, and Elvis Presley's meeting with Richard Nixon, respectively.

The new season of Drunk History features even more sloppy armchair lecturing – including inspired rants about the creation of the Statue of Liberty and the rise of chemist Percy Julian – as well as turns from David Cross, Charlie Day, Courtney Cox, and Laura Dern, among others. It also expands its sloshed-scholarly focus to include themed episodes about Hollywood and American music; the latter boasts Johnny Knoxville impersonating the hell out of Johnny Cash and Wet Hot American Summer director David Wain haphazardly chronicling the career of the influential Fifties rock DJ Alan Freed.

Madonna Teases New Song 'Messiah'

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Madonna has given fans a tantalizing glimpse of new material by posting a picture of the sheet music for a new song, entitled "Messiah" on Instagram.

The image was accompanied by the caption "Coming soon........#promise #keep#sorceress#deep"

Soon after, the singer posted a video on her official Instagram account of a classical orchestra performing in a recording studio.

Expect a Wedding, a Distant Location, Twists & Turns & Even More Laughs in 'Best Man 3'

After a $30.1 million opening weekend for his sequel "The Best Man Holiday" last fall, director Malcolm D. Lee negotiated a deal with Universal to write, direct and produce another installment of the ensemble romantic comedy, which went on to gross over $70 million in domestic box office, making for a profitable film for the studio, given that it cost only $17 million to make. So it really shouldn't be much of a surprise that a 3rd film was of interest to the studio; although, in this business, nothing is ever certain until it's actually made, even if it's formally announced.

Also, whether the ensemble cast has been locked in to return, isn't yet known. Although I expect those who survived "Best Man Holiday" to come back an complete what will be a trilogy.

Malcolm D. Lee apparently already had a 3rd film brewing on paper (before the last film opened), which, per the interview below, he's working on. As for what audiences can expect from it, we have no official synopsis yet, but, in the Vibe video interview that follows, director Lee, while on the red carpet over the weekend for the ABFF premiere of his cousin Spike Lee's "Da Sweet Blood of Jesus," teases us with a few plot points, intercut with star Morris Chestnut (also at the ABFF), who we can assume will be back for number 3, doing the same:

'Avengers 2' Set Visit Contest Passes $100,000

How much is a visit to the secretive set of Avengers: Age of Ultron worth? As of Tuesday, $100,000 and counting.

Mark Ruffalo's Prizeo campaign has passed the $100,000 mark, with donors chipping in for a chance to spend the day with the Hulk himself on Age of Ultron's London set.

We're guessing the contest, which benefits the nonprofit Water Defense, got an extra boost when Ruffalo tweeted a photo of himself on the set with director Joss Whedon.

Prizeo says Ruffalo's team had to seek permission from Marvel Studios and Disney to clear a day for the visit, which will take place in mid-July. Though the contest is lasting just days, Prizeo and Ruffalo's camp had been discussing it for months.

It's Summer 1984, Margaret Thatcher is in power, and the National Union of Mineworkers are on strike! At the Gay Pride March in London, a group of gay and lesbian activists decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. But the only problem is the Union seems too embarrassed to receive their support.

Not discouraged, the activists ignore the Union and go direct to the miners. They identify a small mining villiage in Wales to make their donations to the community in person. This journey begins a surprising partnership between two seemingly alien comunties as they fight for the same cause.

Ryan Gosling Hated Rachel McAdams While Filming The Notebook

In a recent interview with VH1, The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes shared a few behind-the-scenes facts about the movie to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Among those facts (the bird scene almost didn't happen, Facebook played a big role in its success, Ryan Gosling is patiently waiting to re-do the movie IRL with you, etc.) was a bombshell: our two love babies hated each other the whole time!

Though Gosling and Rachel McAdams went on to date for years after filming The Notebook, Cassavetes says Gosling (quite rudely, it seems!) originally wanted her off of the film altogether:

Mariah Carey’s “You Don’t Know What To Do” Is Shaping Up To Be A Hit (On Urban Radio)

Coming to slay 2014!

The state of Mariah Carey‘s Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse campaign is a hotly-debated topic on social media. The album is exceptional, so why isn’t it slaying? That’s a question for another time but the warm reception “You Don’t Know What To Do” is having at urban radio is the first sign that things just might be turning around.

Mimi’s infectious Wale-assisted disco anthem is the third-most added song to urban radio this week, behind T.I. and Iggy Azalea‘s “No Mediocre” and Mike WiLL Made-It‘s “Buy The World”. A solid radio hit is just what this era needs, so hopefully it will continue to get strong airplay. (An epic video would also help). Listen to the future hit — fingers crossed! — after the jump.

Miley Cyrus' Image Used on Billboard to Fight Against Decent Pay in California

If you make minimum wage, you simply can't afford to live in Los Angeles on your own. That's a scientific fact.

But corporate forces have been whining like flopping soccer players about California's minimum wage increasing to a whopping $9, which takes effect today.

A campaign against California's increase is targeting the very young people it would benefit by using an image of Miley Cyrus without the pop singer's permission.

An Employment Policies Institute billboard that uses Miley's iconic, tongue-out image claims that she is "twerked off ... because so many California teens will lose their jobs when the minimum wage goes up."

A billboard with the image, above, will be go up above Sunset Boulevard near La Cienega Boulevard early next week, a spokeswoman for the Employment Policies Institute campaign said.

ELLE: Angelina Jolie's Stripped Down Very Real Self

There is a piece of behind-the-scenes footage, probably locked deep in the Disney vault, that the tabloids would pay millions to get their hands on. In it, a then four-year-old Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt makes her big-screen debut, as a somewhat reluctant participant in Maleficent, the forthcoming prequel to Sleeping Beauty.

“Her first day, she doesn’t want to put the dress on. Then she wants to have food and she wants to get the dress off. Then she doesn’t want to do her hair. Then she wants to go play in the mud. Then she loses her other shoe,” says the young actress’s mother. “All she had to do that day was chase this little ball on the end of a stick, which would be turned into a butterfly. But we realized on that day that anything you tell her to do, she will not do.” So Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt spent the day acting like rodeo clowns. “I’ve got the stick, and he’s on the edge of the [fake] cliff so that when she jumps, she jumps into his arms. We’re making these faces and singing these songs, anything we can do,” she says, shaking her head with bewildered affection familiar to all parents. “Disney did tell me those were some of the funniest outtakes they’d ever seen.”

Angelina Jolie tells this story in the commissary on the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles, a spot that is remarkable only for being one of the few places in the developed world where Angelina Jolie can unself-consciously eat lunch in plain view. As she stirs honey into her mint tea—they bring it without asking—and talks with openness about her band of six children, clearly her favorite subject, there’s a moment to take in her face, which is a process, in that it is somehow unlike all other faces. 7 (3) reasons to love Obvious Child's Jenny Slate

Actress, comedian and professional poop joke generator Jenny Slate is what you'd call a rising star. Her new film, Obvious Child, has been praised as a refreshingly modern romantic comedy that de-stigmatises the gross realities of life. In it, her character, Donna Stern, navigates a break up, a flailing career, an unplanned pregnancy, and, ultimately, an abortion. The film reflects women in a post-Girls world – it takes on politically fraught issues like sex and abortion and normalises them for an audience that has been waiting for someone to do so. Slate, 32, embodies this mission effortlessly in real life, too – in her stand-up, on Twitter and with her friends – by just being herself. Reviews: "Lady Gaga About to Have Huge Career Change, Biggest Success Yet!"

Lady Gaga is officially out there somewhere, on her ARTPOP tour.

But she just played the Montreal Jazz Fest with Tony Bennett, singing “Lush Life.” Watch the video here. She will blow you away. Gaga is about to have a massive success and a huge career change come September when her jazz duets album with Tony Bennett is released.

I’m not sure anyone realizes what this is going to do for her. For Tony, turning 87. of course, it’s another “day at the office.” The album will make the Grammy deadline of September 30th. I wouldn’t be surprised if it wins Album of the Year in February 2015. Big, big stuff this fall for this duo.

PS I am told she will be dressed “elegantly” with Bennett on tour, no eggs, no meat dresses. It’s going to be about her voice.

'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Exposes Phony Soccer Fans

For the past few weeks, World Cup addicts across the globe – and even players – have been chomping at the bit for more soccer. On the other hand, annoying fairweather fans have been feigning their loyalty to the sport, clogging the Facebook news feeds of the disinterested. Enter Jimmy Kimmel Live's popular interview segment, "Lie Witness News," for some ethical justice. On Tuesday night's installment, the show hit the street and asked supposed soccer fans for their World Cup evaluations of American player Landon Donovan – who was cut from the team before the tournament even started.

The results are reliably hilarious, as people offer dishonest opinions on a variety of phony topics – from Donovan's trademark purple mohawk to his off-the-butt victory goal against Saskatchewan. The first confused fan says he appreciates Donovan's commitment to the sport ("He took one to the nose, wasn't it? And he kept playing."), noting that most NBA players would have been "LeBron'ed off" under such painful conditions.

And the responses get more extreme from there. One young man says he remembers that he was playing piano when Donovan made his heroically ass-isted Saskatchewan goal, and he even reenacts the vivid moment with the fake memory fresh on his brain. Another "fan" recalls Donovan's epic "tricycle kick" against Portgugal, which he says brought tears to his eyes; meanwhile, one critical viewer says Donovan has been outclassed in his FIFA run by an intergalactic soccer star, Lando Calrissian. lmao

Why Marvel Should Hire Edgar Ramirez to be Doctor Strange

Short version: let's see Marvel add some different shades to the Marvel movie universe.

Long version: last night, I went to see a midnight screening of "Deliver Us From Evil," the new supernatural cop movie by director Scott Derrickson. Derrickson's been in the news recently because he was signed by Marvel to direct what may well be one of the most exciting overall projects on the horizon for the company, "Doctor Strange."

As long as I've been talking to Kevin Feige about Marvel movies, "Doctor Strange" has been one of the titles that he's been most vocal about loving. I would imagine he's going to be heavily involved in making sure the film communicates all the things he loves about the character, and I think Derrickson has an opportunity here to make a big, weird, beautiful Marvel movie.

I've seen lots of speculation about who could play the role, and I know Johnny Depp was rumored to be one of the names in the mix at one point. But after seeing "Deliver Us From Evil," I have a different idea, and it's one that would make Marvel look progressive and that would potentially launch a movie star instead of forcing Marvel to pay for one.

Hire Edgar Ramirez.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the first U.S. film in 4DX

Escapism has always been one of the biggest draws of cinema. Whether an audience just wants to hang out with a couple of funny people and laugh at their jokes for 90 minutes or get sucked into a 120 minute-long space opera complete with starship battles, the closer a person can get to the movie world in a theater, the better. Enter the new theater technology known as 4DX, which, for the first time ever, was used in the U.S. this past weekend. The chairs are set upon gimbals to move around and shake, theaters can replicate various smells, and the seats are even programmed to blow air and water on the audience. All of this is synced up with the events up on the big screen.

And what better way to test out the new technology than with one of the most spectacular, action-packed movies that have been released so far this year? The first ever 4DX screening in the United States was of Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and from Yahoo!'s description it sounds like one hell of a ride. The article mentions events like air blowing in your face as Black Widow's fired bullets fly across the screen, quick chair jolts as Captain America throws his shield around to take down bad guys, and even a little splash as Nick Fury drives through a puddle.

Speaking about potential future Last Shadow Puppets material Kane said that the pair "always talk" about the group but are prioritising a film.

"It's something we always talk about y'know? But I think we're gonna write this film first anyway before we hit back into that," Kane revealed."It's gonna have a sort of X-Men kind of vibe and sort of set in the '60s, but I can't give anymore away than that."

Walter Dean Myers, celebrated young adult author, dies at 76

Walter Dean Myers, a celebrated author known for writing books about young African Americans, such as "Monster," "Fallen Angels" and "Hoops," has died. He was 76.
"Walter's many award-winning books do not shy away from the sometimes gritty truth of growing up.... He wrote with heart and he spoke to teens in a language they understood," Susan Katz, president and publisher of HarperCollins Children's Books, said in a statement. HarperCollins said he died Tuesday after a brief illness.

  • harlem-wdm

Myers' work includes six Newbery Honor Books and three National Book Award finalists. He won the first-ever Michael L. Printz Award for young adult literature and the first Coretta Scott King-Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Myers “often wrote books about the most difficult time in his own life — his teenage years — for the reader he once was; these were the books that he wished were available when he was that age,” HarperCollins said.
Born Aug. 12, 1937, in Martinsburg, W.Va., Myers was raised in Harlem, N.Y. As a child, "I was always in trouble," he told the Los Angeles Times in 1997. He hung out with gangs. He was "sort of" arrested. He had a speech impediment. He was angry.
“Reading pushed me to discover worlds beyond my landscape, especially during dark times when my uncle was murdered and my family became dysfunctional with alcohol and grief,” he recalled on his website.
Myers dropped out of high school and joined the Army at 17. After his military service, remembering encouragement from a high school teacher, he picked up writing. He started with short pieces for tabloids and men’s magazines.
“A turning point for me was the discovery of a short story by James Baldwin about the black urban experience. It gave me permission to write about my own experiences,” he wrote.

“Myers inspired generations of readers, including a 12-year-old me when I read ‘Fallen Angels,’ and then a 22-year-old me when I read ‘Monster,’” John Green, author of the bestselling “The Fault in Our Stars,” said on Twitter. “It's hard to imagine YA literature without him.”

He recently served as the national ambassador for young people’s literature, a post appointed by the Library of Congress.

'Bangerz' Creative Director Previews Miley Cyrus TV Special: 'Intense and Wild'

However, when the show arrives at NBC on July 6 (airing at 9 p.m. Eastern), the tour's creative director, Diane Martel, says that what will stand out most is the 21-year-old's vocal ability. "Her performance in this special is flawless and passionate," Martel tells Billboard exclusively.

In addition to giving fans a front row seat, it will also gives Smilers behind-the-scenes access to the pop star. Martel teases, "We see Miley as she is in her private life; very sweet, tender, loving and playful. Miley speaks about her personal growth to date during this tour. We get a sense of the smart and thoughtful artist she is. ... It's very low-key and intimate," she adds. "She’s sophisticated in many ways and a young, silly girl in others… When you watch these brief, but effective scenes you see how relatable she really is. She really balances being an artist with being a 21-year-old quite well."

Islam Slimani: Algeria Will Donate Their World Cup Prize Money to Gaza

While African nations Ghana and Cameroon were involved in high-profile money disputes over their World Cup participation, Algeria have announced that they're planning on putting their World Cup cash to good use.

Algeria won over a lot of new fans with a spirited World Cup that saw them advance into the round of 16 for the first time in the country's history and fought valiantly to an extra-time defeat to favoured Germany.

Now they'll have even more fans, as forward Islam Slimani announced in the aftermath of the tournament that the entire squad will donate all of their prize money to the people of embattled Gaza. That figure is estimated to be about $9,000,000 (roughly £5,250,000).

Given the show of respect from the players, it comes as little surprise that the team was given an open-top bus parade upon return to Algeria in spite of a round-of-16 exit.
