Musicians To Tour For 20th Andy Warhol Museum Anniversary

The Andy Warhol Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a special event put together by curator Galaxie 500/Luna frontman Dean Wareham. Exposed: Songs for Unseen Warhol Films is a multimedia performance where musicians will live score 15 unseen Andy Warhol films.

Five composers – Dean Wareham, Bradford Cox (of Deerhunter), Martin Rev (of Suicide), Eleanor Friedberger (of The Fiery Furnaces), and Tom Verlaine (of Television) – were selected to write and perform the music.

The short films date from the 1960s and have been digitally restored by MPC/Technicolor. They feature notables such as John Giorno, Marcel Duchamp, Allen Ginsberg, Mario Montez, Marisol, Taylor Mead, Jack Smith, Mary Woronov, Edie Sedgwick, and Warhol himself. Geralyn Huxley, curator of film and video, said, “It’s so wonderful to be able to share these newly digitized films that reveal different aspects of Warhol and his film-making.”

The world premiere of Exposed: Songs for Unseen Warhol Films will take place in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Music Hall (Oakland), on Friday, October 17, 2014. It will open on the West Coast at UCLA on Friday, October 24, 2014, followed by an East Coast debut at The Brooklyn Academy of Music on Thursday, November 6, through Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Andy Warhol and associates pioneered multimedia performances of the 60's with The Velvet Underground & Nico in Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable.

'You Will Know the Debt Is Paid': Giving 'Game of Thrones' Star Lena Headey Her Emmys Due

 photo daa378b0-d9f8-11e3-8bad-e7636008c051_gameofthrones14_104_zpsed0b7b85.jpg

Even with an ensemble as deep as "Game of Thrones," it's shocking that Lena Headey hasn't been nominated for an Emmy as the villainous yet sympathetic Cersei Lannister. She has to be as deceitful and manipulative as her male Lannister counterparts, only (like Ginger Rogers) backward and in heels.

Maybe voters are waiting to the see the supremely self-confident lady taken down a peg before they consider her? She's certainly had her share of misfortune this season: stripped of almost all her power by her father, and separated from her daughter and the only man she's ever loved. Oh yeah, and her son's death is so gruesome, fans gave it its own name: the Purple Wedding.

And then there's the controversial scene with Jaime. Wherever you fall on the question of whether or not she was raped by her brother, her performance was a tour de force. In an interivew with Gold Derby, she explained it this way: "I came from this place of grieving and a need to feel connected and alive and, you know, this is the only other person, probably the only person she has ever trusted in the world. And she's shunned Jaime and he's never stopped loving her, and in that moment, she's embracing and she's rejecting of him in the same breath."

Headey has had to cover more emotional ground than almost anyone on television this season, and if that doesn't convince you she deserves a nod, you might be a Lannister.

The Child Army Are Obsessed With St. Angie’s Tattoos

Angelina Jolie's children are drawn to her ink! The Maleficent star's six kids
with Brad Pitt -- sons Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, and Knox, 5, and daughters Zahara,
9, Shiloh, 8, and Vivienne, 5 -- can't get enough of their mom's extensive body
art and are constantly asking questions about it, a source reveals in the new
issue of Us Weekly.

"They are obsessed with her tattoos and always ask what they mean," the insider
tells Us, adding that Jolie, 39, is "happy to explain her tats to the kids."
(Among the 13 designs is an etching of the birth coordinates for each of her
children, who were born all over the world, in Cambodia, Vietnam, Ethiopia,
Namibia, and France.)

The source notes that Shiloh is especially fascinated by her mom's ink. And Pax
is already eager to get his own. "Angie tells him he has plenty of time," the
insider says.

Happy Father's Day: Favorite TV dads who cook

As far as television is concerned, there's something just irresistibly funny about dads who cook. Well, we beg to differ. Here are five TV dads who knew their way around the kitchen, to a greater or lesser extent.

Walter White from "Breaking Bad"
We all know Walter White was a good cook ... but we're not just talking about his one-of-a-kind recipe for meth. When White wanted to turn on the charm and compete with his brother-in-law Hank, he headed outside to the grill. And who could forget his adorable apron over a checkered shirt? It was dark green and read, "MMM something's cookin!" Yes, with White, something was always cooking.

Ryan Atwood Talks 'Gotham'

During his first day on the set of Fox’s Batman prequel series Gotham, star Ben McKenzie sat in a 1970s-era Chrysler and had a moment of doubt.

This was his first scene for the production playing Det. Jim Gordon, and it was a very simple one – McKenzie merely had to drive the car up to Wayne Manor. But suddenly, the former Southland star felt overwhelmed. “I’m sitting behind the wheel, and I’m thinking, ‘This is crazy, this is crazy. What am I doing? This is nuts. I’m never going to be able to pull this off,’” he recalled. Thankfully, the moment passed, “and it all went great.”

Below McKenzie talks about diving into the Batman universe and shooting the fall’s most highly anticipated new series, which follows a superpower and gadget-free cop responsible for stopping Gotham’s increasingly theatrical array of villains. In this prequel world, Bruce Wayne is still just a kid, and Gordon’s first assignment is investigating the mysterious murder of his parents.

Leona Lewis dumped Simon Cowell via text

The 2006 X Factor winner sent her mentor a message after leaving Sony because she didn’t want him to try to talk her out of it.

Comparing the separation to dumping a boyfriend Leona admitted: “I was nervous about telling Simon. In fact I texted him first because I was too nervous to call him.

“I’m not going to say exactly what Simon said but he was definitely a little disappointed I chose to leave. It was too late for him to persuade me though. I had already made up my mind.”

Thankfully King Cowell has forgiven LeLe already though.

She added: “Simon is genuinely supportive and will always be instrumental in my career. I will still ask his advice.

“He told me the reason X Factor went to the US was because it had produced an international artist. I’m proud of coming from that show and Simon and I will always have a special bond.”

Amal, who is a human rights lawyer that attended on behalf of UNICEF, was spotted taking notes during the conference that day.

“It is a myth that rape is an inevitable part of conflict,” Angelina said in her opening remarks at the conference earlier in the week. “There is nothing inevitable about it. It is a weapon of war aimed at civilians. It has nothing to do with sex – everything to do with power. It is done to torture and humiliate innocent people and often very young children.”

The Avengers' Big Three Reassembles while Mark Ruffalo answers fans about "ships"

As reported yesterday, filming for Avengers: Age of Ultron took over the University of East Anglia campus in Norwich, United Kingdom, where there were confirmed sightings of Chris Evans in his new Captain America uniform, Chris Hemsworth in his slightly altered Thor gear, and of course Robert Downey Jr. sans his Iron Man suit. While there were several other sightings (minor spoilers) reportedly on the set yesterday, UK photographer Sammy J Lee has shared with CBM new photos of the "big three" as they rehearsed a scene together with writer/director Joss Whedon, and in front of a group of "Avengers recruits" (whose uniforms sort of resemble Quicksilver's as seen in Italy). It's also worth noting that it was assumed yesterday the campus was doubling for Tony Stark's Avengers Tower in Manhattan, NYC, but considering the open space that's being utilized in other recent photos, it's safe say it will appear as another setting in Age of Ultron

Cheryl Cole hires beauty 'dream team' to prevent repeat of US X Factor hair disaster

The Geordie singer shocked fans with her big, backcombed, lacquered look when she appeared on the red carpet in LA three years ago

Cheryl Cole is desperate not to repeat the mistake of her much-mocked bouffant hairdo at the launch of the US X Factor in 2011.

Now that she’s back as a judge on the UK talent show, she’s determined to be taken seriously and has signed up a new “dream team” of beauty experts.

The former Girls Aloud star has parted company with long-term hair and make-up artist Lisa Laudat and recruited celebrity make-up artist Karin Darnel and world-renowned hairdresser Paul Percival.

The new team will style her for the first of this year’s X Factor auditions in Manchester on Monday.

A source close to Cheryl, 30, said: “She has changed her whole team – her hair, her make-up, her stylist.

“She’s been away a few years and she naturally wanted to mark her return with a fresh new look, so it seemed the right time to change things up.”

The Geordie singer – who has reportedly been paid £1.5million to join the panel alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and new girl Mel B – shocked fans when she appeared on the red carpet in LA three years ago with what she called “crazy wild hair”.

'I'm going after Shakespeare and Disney!' Yeezus compares himself to (other) legends

He's a self-proclaimed God and genius.
And now Kanye West has declared that he is in hot pursuit of the most notable dead playwright in history, Shakespeare.

The rapper made sure that the 100,000 strong crowd at Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee understood his self-belief in no uncertain terms on Friday night.

Kanye - who was supported by his new wife Kim Kardashian at the annual music and arts festival - made use of his headlining position to deliver one of his infamous speeches about himself.

Dressed in layers upon layers of tie-dye fabric, the 37-year-old Yeezus star began his verbal assault.
'I want y'all to know that when I'm in the studio or doing an interview or making a T-shirt, I give everything I got,' he told the crowd.

He then went on to explain that the reason he brags about how great he is, is so that he can impart that sense of self-worth onto his fans.
'When I talk that s***, it's so you can talk that s***. If you’re fan of me, then you’re fan of your motherf***ing self.'

He cried out that 'this is only the beginning,' before listing off those that he intends to surpass in his career.

Maya Rudolph joins Tina Fey, Amy Poehler in comedy The Nest

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's The Nest is shaping up to be even more of a Saturday Night Live reunion.

Maya Rudolph is joining Fey and Poehler in the Universal comedy. The Bridesmaids actress will play a childhood friend of the duo, who portray sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. They decide to throw one final rager in the house, which turns into a cathartic experience for a bunch of ground-down adults.

Rudolph was an SNL cast member from 2000-07, working for most of that period alongside Poehler and Fey. Paula Pell, also an SNL alum, wrote the screenplay for The Nest.

In addition, Rudolph has landed a starring role opposite Catherine Keener in the indie drama The Greens Are Gone. Peer Pedersen wrote the screenplay for that and is directing. Rudolph will first shoot The Nest before moving to the Boston set of Greens Are Gone. Production on The Nest begins this month in New York. Ike Barinholtz recently joined that film as the male lead. Universal is now filling out the supporting roles, which will include several cameos. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is directing the film, which will be released Dec. 18, 2015.

Model Approved: Facebook Now Allows Breastfeeding Photos

Women breastfeeding is nothing new, but Facebook has made waves in the past for deeming breastfeeding photos as inappropriate. There seems to be a debate between rather this is okay for public consumption or should be kept private. Even Gisele Bundchen took flack for posting an Instagram of herself breastfeeding her young daughter Vivian Lake. And just earlier this month, Natalia Vodianova wished her partner a Happy Birthday on Instagram with her newborn son Maxim (although the response seemed more positive this time).

Time’s seem to be changing. As recently as three weeks ago, the social media site revised its policy as Jezebel points out. Their help page says the following: “Yes [we allow photos of mothers breastfeeding]. We agree that breastfeeding is natural and beautiful and we’re glad to know that it’s important for mothers to share their experiences with others on Facebook. The vast majority of these photos are compliant with our policies.” So don’t be surprised if you see more images like the ones above on your Facebook feed.

What do you think? Should breastfeeding be on social media?

20 (5) Reasons Why The Lion King Still Rules 20 Years Later

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Hey, here's something that will make you feel old! The Lion King is turning 20 on Sunday. The Disney masterpiece roared (shh, let us have that one) into theaters on June 15, 1994, where it would "Hakuna Matata" its way to becoming the second highest-grossing film of the year, earning an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and two Grammys in the process.

Although The Lion King is now seen as a centerpiece of Disney's so-called Renaissance period, it had modest origins, and even those involved on the project believed it would be a tough sell. "The pitch for the story was a lion cub gets framed for murder by his uncle, set to the music of Elton John," producer Don Hahn explained. "People said 'What? Good luck with that.'"

But the Shakespeare-lite story of Simba, King Mufasa and evil uncle Scar exceeded everyone's expectations then and, 20 years later, it's still an amazing film. We'll apologize in advance to Frozen princesses, singing candlesticks and even Billy Joel in dog form, because here are 20 reasons why we think The Lion King is the greatest Disney movie ever.

Wu-Tang Is For The Newborns: Parents Name Their Twins “Raekwon & Ghostface”

Today, Raekwon shared a photo on Instagram featuring two newborn twins named after him and fellow Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah:
