For The Hollywood Reporter's annual Drama Showrunner Roundtable, six of TV's top creators — including Nic Pizzolatto ("True Detective"), Carlton Cuse ("Bates Motel") and Ann Biderman ("Ray Donovan") — talk fears they've already done their best work and how to follow up a hit.
Despite achieving golden-boy status this year for his debut series True Detective, Nic Pizzolatto, 38, briefly reverted to starstruck fanboy on an April evening when five giants of television joined him inside a downtown L.A. warehouse to swap tales from the TV writer trenches.
And who could blame him?
Present was last year's drama series Emmy winner, Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan, 47, who braved a gnarly commute from Burbank, where he and his team were prepping the first episode of the Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul. Mad Men's Matthew Weiner, 48, a four-time Emmy winner for best drama series, was fresh from his season-seven premiere but quick to share his stress over the dreaded task of writing the show's final episodes. Carlton Cuse, 55, the Zen-like Emmy-winning executive producer of Lost and co-creator of A&E's Bates Motel, caught up with pal Gilligan as Oscar winner and Emmy veteran Aaron Sorkin, 52 -- shooting the third and final season of The Newsroom and casting his Steve Jobs biopic for Sony -- joked that his plan, for once, was to "not talk at all." (Didn't happen.) And Ann Biderman, 62, an Emmy winner for NYPD Blue, happily took a few hours off from shooting season two of her gritty Showtime drama Ray Donovan to meet peers and talk shop -- so long as no one asked her the dreaded question: What is it like to be a woman writing such a manly television series?

Washington (AFP) - The widow of the man who was driving a sports car when it crashed, killing him and "Fast and Furious" star Paul Walker last year, is suing Porsche.
The suit filed Monday alleges the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT the two men were in did not have a proper crash cage or safety features in the gas tank. The suit said these would have saved both men.
Walker had completed much of his part in filming "Fast and Furious 7" before he died in November aged 40, in a high-speed car crash in California.
The suit was filed by Kristine Rodas, wife of the late driver Roger Rodas, in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
A failure in the car's suspension system forced it to swerve out of control and hit trees while driving in Santa Clarita, California, according to the suit filed by Rodas.

We always knew that Beckett and Castle’s road to getting hitched would have, well, a few hitches. A last-minute quickie divorce from a past flame. Venue drama. Maybe some dress drama. But we didn’t expect what actually happened in the final minutes of season 6. (Warning No. 2: Oddly, there’s a Downton Abbey spoiler below, too…)

Ramona seems to be having the last laugh in the feud between her and her husband's mistress, Kyle "Kasey" Dexter.
The 32-year-old mistress who gained notoriety after being called Mario's mistress was thrown in jail last month.
RadarOnline is reporting that Dexter spent five days behind bars for disorderly conduct; details as to why the arrest was made are unknown at this time.
News broke earlier this month that the mistress had penned an opened letter to Ramona detailing her and Mario's sex life giving an ultimatum to the Real Housewives star, saying if Ramona doesn't leave Mario then Kasey will.
Ramona learned of the affair earlier this year after which she served husband, Mario with divorce papers, something that she later regretted doing. The pair has since called off the divorce and are currently working on their relationship, something which Dexter is making pretty hard for them to do.
The affair between Mario and Kasey began last summer and resulted in a pregnancy, which the pair decided to terminate. The couple continued to see each other until Ramona caught them together at the Hampton house, her and Mario share. The confrontation between Ramona and Mario turned physical and the cops were called, but luckily no one was hurt and no arrests were made.
This recent arrest for Dexter comes on top of a pretty intense court case with her ex-boyfriend, Gregory Peter, a former employer of Dexter. She previously admitted to Radar that she had an "unhealthy obsession" with Peters who she sued for sexual harassment after their relationship went south.

Yikes! It looks like Solange Knowles' elevator attack on Jay Z was not her first altercation on the night of the Met Gala last Monday, May 5. A source tells Us Weekly that Beyonce's younger sister had yelled at designer Rachel Roy earlier at the after party, which was held at the Boom Boom Room in the Standard Hotel.
The source added that, during the disagreement, Beyonce "got in the middle of it," though it remains unclear what it was about. According to another insider, Solange was yelling at a number of people; Roy, it turns out, was included in that group.
Interestingly, just two years ago, Solange accompanied Roy to the 2012 Met Gala. (It's also worth noting that there is a long and contentious history between Roy's ex-husband Damon Dash and Jay, who were close friends and business partners before an ugly falling out.)

The renowned Swiss artist H.R. Giger has died at the age of 74, as a result of injuries sustained in a fall, Swiss public television, SRF, has reported. Giger was most famous for the alien monster he created for the movie of the same name.
SRF cited family sources. In the art world, Giger, who focused during his career on the fantastic realism and surrealistic genres, is best known for his contribution to the film Alien. The monster he created for Ridley Scott’s film earned him an Oscar for special effects in 1980.
His talent for scaring movie audiences was repeated in Poltergeist 2 (1986), Alien 3 (1992) and Species (1995). Computer game fans were able to enjoy his work in Dark Seed in 1995.
His film work was just one facet of his talent, though. Giger is also known for his sculptures, paintings and furniture.

Live from New York: Five weeks ago, Sam Smith sauntered onto the Saturday Night Live stage, mesmerizing folks at home with his heavenly pipes and signature falsetto, and blowing up online in the process. The British crooner trended on Twitter throughout the night and shot up the iTunes charts with single Stay With Me, which entered Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 68 a week later. "It was ridiculous just watching the song go up the charts afterward," says Smith, 21. "I normally don't feel I deliver on TV because I get so nervous, but I was really happy with my performance."
Simultaneous success: SNL stardom is hardly Smith's biggest achievement to date. After a string of top 20 hits in the U.K., he's now featured on two songs on USA TODAY's top 40 airplay chart: Naughty Boy's La La La (No. 12) and Disclosure's Latch (No. 28). The recipient of the Brit Awards' Critics' Choice trophy (previously given to Adele and Ellie Goulding), Smith recently wrapped a sold-out, 10-city North American tour, and played with Disclosure both weekends of Coachella, where he was snapped hanging out with Katy Perry. So how is it breaking out on both sides of the pond? "I've always witnessed artists releasing their albums in the U.K. and then America gets ahold of it one or two years later," he says. "It's been amazing for me to be able to straddle both worlds at the same time."( Collapse )

Billboard recently chatted with Stacy Jones, frontman of the "Flavor of the Weak" power pop band American Hi-Fi. Aside from giving some inside information on his band's just-announced new album "Blood & Lemonade," he also spoke about his current gig working as music director (and touring drummer) for a pop star you might have heard of: Miley Cyrus.
The Bangerz tour has been the talk of the pop world since it kicked off Feb. 14. Team Cyrus partied across the U.S.A. with its traveling circus of furries, foam fingers, Bill Clinton impersonators and human-sized hot dogs until Cyrus was bedridden in mid-March, forcing her to cancel and reschedule a slew of dates. But Miley is well again and fresh off a successful comeback concert two nights ago in London. To mark the occasion, here are six things we learned about the Bangerz tour from Jones.

Just when it seemed like Spike Lee's verbal war on gentrification was dying down, along comes Michael Rapaport to fan the flames.
Citing Lee's recent criticism of the supposed good of gentrification, Rapaport told HuffPost Live last month that Lee's current address voids his comments about what's going on in Brooklyn. "If the people that donated money to Spike Lee's last film saw the apartment that he lives in, they'd bug out," he boldly proclaimed, adding that Lee is "making money off the fact that [Brooklyn] got better."
Lee was livid when he got wind of Rapaport's comments, going straight for the fellow New Yorker's jugular during his own HuffPost Live interview yesterday. "What Michael Rapaport left out because he's stupid: he did not talk about the people who can no longer afford to live in Williamsburg, who can no longer afford to live in Fort Greene, who can no longer afford to live in Clinton Hill," he exclaimed.
To Lee, what Rapaport and many others are forgetting is that many longtime Brooklyn residents can no longer afford to live in their neighborhoods due to the soaring cost of living. Then Lee, at his most antagonistic, got personal: "He's not even a good filmmaker, so I don't know what he's talking about."
Do the Right Thing, Lee's ode to racial tensions in Brooklyn, turns 25 next month. It looks like this issue is heating up again just in time for the film's anniversary.

It may seem like the Veronica Mars book series only just made its debut, but it seems like 2014 still has more in store for Veronica Mars fans.
Details of the second book in the series have just been released on Amazon.com and the Barnes & Noble website respectively. And the title? Mr. Kiss & Tell.
In the second book in the New York Times bestselling mystery series, Veronica Mars is back with a case that will expose the hidden workings of one of Neptune’s most murderous locations.
The Neptune Grand has always been the seaside town’s ritziest hotel, despite the shady dealings and high-profile scandals that seem to follow its elite guests. When a woman claims that she was brutally assaulted in one of its rooms and left for dead by a staff member, the owners know that they have a potential powder keg on their hands. They turn to Veronica to disprove—or prove—the woman’s story.
The case is a complicated mix of hard facts, mysterious occurrences, and uncooperative witnesses. The hotel refuses to turn over its reservation list and the victim won’t divulge who she was meeting that night. Add in the facts that the attack happened months ago, the victim’s memory is fuzzy, and there are holes in the hotel’s surveillance system, and Veronica has a convoluted mess on her hands. As she works to fill in the missing pieces, it becomes clear that someone is lying—but who? And why?
Promisingly enough, Rob Thomas has stated that Veronica and Logan fans can expect more of their favorite pairing in the second book, after barely any interaction between the two in the first.
Mr. Kiss & Tell will be released on October 28, 2014. The book is available for preorder now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
The first Veronica Mars book, The Thousand Dollar Tan Line, was released March 25 and picked up where the Veronica Mars movie left off.
2014 has easily been one of my favorite years ever. :)
Owen Pallett, Oscar-nominated for his soundtrack for last year's Her and arranger for Arcade Fire, is getting ready to release his fourth album “In Conflict” and he stopped by CBC’s Radio Q to debut a new song, “I Am Not Afraid.”
In addition to being a gorgeous song, “I Am Not Afraid” marks the eclectic composer's debut “both playing piano and singing,” as Owen nervously admits before the performance. He does beautifully.
“In Conflict” is out May 27. Listen below.
Strange. Another article about this song frames it as being about a gay man's envy of natural childbirth and biological family, but the actual lyrics: "I'll never have any children / I would bear them / and eat them" sound a lot less personal and more like Owen in his myth-making mode, conjuring up images of Goya's Saturn.

Sally filed for legal separation May 2 although our sources say it will be changed to divorce as soon as Sally meets the California residency requirement in 3 months.
The couple is having a baby in July with a surrogate and Sally wants full custody along with an order prohibiting Shepherd from interfering with the birth. Shepherd makes no mention in her legal docs of custody.
As for the prenup, which Sally wants invalidated on grounds of fraud, Shepherd wants it enforced. The prenup provides, if the marriage lasts between 2 and 5 years, Sally only gets $60,000.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it -- it's all the common-sense things. American Idol is such an institution, and it is such a great show, at the end of the day, it's about the contestants and the focus should never be on anything else," Lopez told The Hollywood Reporter just before the network's upfronts presentation at New York City's Edison Ballroom on Monday evening. "You want to have a great panel and interesting judges, but it's about the kids. It's about focusing on the right things, and I think in television that's the most important thing: really understanding your audience and giving them what they want … it hasn't changed all that much. It is the show it has always been."

He was already dad to four daughters [Rumer Glenn 25, Scout LaRue 22, Tallulah Belle 20, & Mabel Ray 2] but even Bruce Willis was surprised when his fifth child was born — and it was another baby girl. “[We] didn’t know what we were gonna have until the baby came out,” the actor told PEOPLE at Saturday’s 21st annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women in Los Angeles of welcoming his daughter Evelyn Penn.
And while having a new baby is “pretty cool,” having a household full of women hasn’t affected his views on who should rule the world. “In general, I think women should be in charge of everything. They should be running the country,” Willis, 59, says. “Halle Berry should be president. Women are just much smarter than men.”
He adds, “Even if I had five boys, I’d still feel the same way.” Although he’s loving all the ladies in his life, the actor admits he would welcome the experience of having a son one day. “Eventually, I’d like a son. But I’m okay now,” he says.
England are to have the slogan "The dream of one team, the heartbeat of millions!!" on the side of their World Cup coach in Brazil - that is the team bus, not Roy Hodgson.
Fifa has revealed the results of a competition it ran to provide a slogan for each of the 32 vehicles and while England's is hardly the call to arms that will be on the side of Japan's people carrier – "Samurai, the time has come to fight!" – it is at least less underwhelming than, for instance, Australia's ("Socceroos: hopping our way into history!"), or indeed Chile ("Chi Chi Chi!, Le Le Le! Australia: Socceroos: hopping our way into history!
Brazil: Brace yourselves! The 6th is coming! (PREPAREM-SE! O HEXA ESTÁ CHEGANDO!)

Shonda Rhimes owns Thursdays on ABC this fall.
ABC unveiled its schedule for the 2014-15 TV season on Tuesday, and Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal are moving up an hour to make room for Rhimes’ new drama How to Get Away With Murder at 10/9c.
Also of note: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. moves to 9 pm, with the new comedies Selfie and Manhattan Love Story now opening Tuesday night. Marvel’s Agent Carter and Galavant, meanwhile, will air during the winter, bridging the split seasons of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Once Upon a Time, respectively.
In addition to Agent Carter and Galavant, on tap for midseason are the dramas American Crime, Secrets and Lies, The Astronaut Wives Club and The Whispers, plus the comedy Fresh Off the Boat and new seasons of The Taste and The Great Christmas Light Fight.
All told, the ABC schedule looks like this; new shows are in CAPS.

Thierry Coup, senior vice president of Universal Creative, explains the ride will begin with fans entering the bank where the 60-foot Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon will be breathing fire overhead. Goblins will be asking passengers if they want to open an account. Then, 2 carts carrying 12 passengers, will head underground to the vaults on a twisting track before running into the middle of a battle!
Riders are on the track just as Harry, Hermione, Ron and Griphook are tossed off the cart after going through the Thief’s Downfall. Bellatrix Lestrange and a few Death Eaters will be there launching spells in a fight, but riders get in the way and are sent plunging down in the depths of the bank where security trolls attack and the dragon, trying to escape, spits fire as he claws his way out. Then…the Dark Lord himself shows up for an “intense” moment! Rupert Grint (Ron), also reveals your meeting with Voldemort will be in 3-D.
The goal of the ride is to make fans feel like they are in the middle of the fight that happens in the book/film. The perspective will be intense and give fans a taste of the adventure via the “groundbreaking, multi-dimensional” ride.
As for the “fear factor” – it will be intense, but focus on the thrills versus fear. The ride has a few drops and moments of being launched and shaken. However, unlike the Hogsmeade ride – Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey -, there will NOT be a weight restriction. A lap bar will be used to secure guests. The team also attempted to create smoother ride by “taming down the amount of abrupt motion” for those with sensitive stomachs.
UPDATE: Still no official opening date yet...

Well, fans can amp up their excitement to yet higher levels, because both Cooper and Justified's Neal McDonough, who played Howling Commando Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan in The First Avenger and Marvel's Agent Carter short, have already expressed in no uncertain terms that they'd jump at the chance to appear on Atwell's series.
"I would like to do any way possible that Howard Stark can make a return. He's such a fun character to play, and I really believe that he could make quite an exciting character to watch more of," Cooper told Zap2it during the TCA 2014 winter press tour. "The flawed entrepreneur, the kind of crazy playboy, from that era is an exciting concept. I saw Hayley recently, and I think that the 'Carter' thing is going to happen, so yeah. I'd love to. I wouldn't hesitate."
McDonough was similarly enthusiastic when interviewed by IGN during the Mob City press tour.

Like it or not, the leaked footage of Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z at last week's Met Gala after-party, has provided fodder for the biggest story in the media (and the meme-flinging confines of the internet) this week. What no one is sure of is the cause of the altercation between Beyonce's husband and sister, however the speculation and conspiracy theories tossed about are blaming everything from drug abuse to extramarital affairs to Illuminati blood sacrifices (read the Youtube comments, they're amazing) as the cause of the bust up.
What we do know - thanks to social media super sleuths out there - is that Solange has removed all visual evidence of Beyonce from her Instagram account, the 21st Century equivalent of ceremoniously deleting someone's digits from your phone.

Alec Baldwin was arrested for disorderly conduct in Manhattan on Tuesday, after a flare-up with cops when he was stopped for riding his bicycle against traffic, police said.
The hotheaded actor became unruly with officers who asked him for identification after they stopped on Fifth Ave. near 16th St.. in the Flatiron District about 10:15 a.m., cops said.
"He became belligerent, yelling and screaming at the officers, 'I don't have ID. Just give me the f-----g summonses,'" one police source told the Daily News.
Cops cuffed the "30 Rock" star at the scene - a moment captured by a lensman with InTouch Magazine - and hauled him the NYPD's 13th Precinct.
But the foul-mouthed Baldwin didn't stop arguing over his arrest once he arrived at the E. 21st St. stationhouse.

sorry mods i fucked up the first post
One of the biggest and most frequent complaints thrown at Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last September was in regard to the series seeming lack of “punch,” especially in comparison to its heavy hitting cinematic cousins. While a fair criticism, to a point, it often felt like series detractors were forgetting S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t a film, it’s a TV series, and the way a TV series builds “punch” is through character, not spectacle. The reason being, when the big moment of delivery finally comes, things can remain somewhat small (from a logistical stand-point), yet still feel like they have as much gravity as a feature, and that’s exactly what’s happened with the show’s first season finale.
From the first scene, “Beginning of the End” (which has now been confirmed to not be the series finale) hits the ground running, and all the built-up tension of the last 22 episodes is released into 60 minutes of pure pay off. The best part, however? Within all that making good, the series finally stands its ground and stakes its claim as a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. How does one do that? By establishing world changing consequences that don’t just affect one MCU franchise, but all of them.
[Really glad I gave up on this boring shit after like two episodes though ugh]
During its PaleyFest event back in March, the show’s panel was asked if there could ever be potential for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to impact the films the way the films have impacted Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The biggest promise made by the end of “Beginning of the End” is Marvel’s live-action world can now be shaped by anything, no matter how small… which, as it so happens, is also the main message of the episode itself. The littlest of things can change everything.
While it began as an experiment by Marvel to see just how expansive they could make their game-changing Hollywood universe, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has now become a statement on the company itself. As much as fans love the films, what Marvel’s daring to say with this season finale is “everything we do matters, and you need to pay attention to all of it.” By the time credits roll, the company dares the audience to believe they have the capability to create something far larger than anyone expected.
And while the grand scheme is all well and good, something that can’t be ignored is the fact that this is, by far, the most well put together episode of the series to date. There’s no denying a lot of that has to do with the previously mentioned build-up, but that’s okay because it’s just nice to know the series didn’t crumble under the weight of its own scale. Every story arc is given its due (even the ones audiences may have forgotten about from the beginning of the season), and every character is given a chance to shine in their own right, all well setting up more arcs for season two.
In the end, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has made good on its promise of a weekly dose of Marvel that would allow us a chance to take a closer, more personal look at the cinematic franchise. While it certainly tees up some goodies for next season, what the series never forgets is to make good in the season finale. To make good on spectacle, and to make good on answers. It’s been a long journey, and there’s no question many viewers’ patience wore thin toward the end, but that never stopped Marvel from pushing forward to one of the most entertaining hours of television this season and finally cementing a deserved place on the small screen.
The season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesday, May 13th at 8/7c on ABC.

This is a land foreign and confounding to born-and-bred New York types like Pitt.

The series finale to the critically acclaimed television show Frasier aired 10 years ago today on May 13th, 2004. Here is where the cast is today:
After a few misfires, the diva nails her latest Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse cut
Mariah Carey, by now, is a musical legend with a legacy as smooth as her voice. Even so, the leadup to her 14th album, the impeccably titled Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse, has been a bit bumpy. Soft-rocking Miguel duet “Beautiful” was a hit, but throwback R&B tracks “The Art of Letting Go” and “You’re Mine (Eternal),” while classicist and impressive, underperformed – though not as much as Rick Ross showcase “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” which Mariah was barely on. The song was relegated untriumphantly to promotional-single status and dropped from the album’s lineup.
“Thirsty,” which premiered today, is almost like an attempt to fix that, to get the hip-hop-influenced track right. Producer Hit-Boy (a couple of his eponymous hits: Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Paris,” Beyoncé’s “XO” and “Flawless”) gives Carey one of his signature beats: a minimalist synth hook that breaks into martial strings or imperial sangfroid when the mood calls for it. And this time Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan’s the one who gets dominated by Carey’s larger-than-life presence; he warbles Future-ish backing vocals on the hook while Carey dismisses the titular “thirsty” braggart.
The anti-scrub track is one of Mariah's best looks - sometimes she even names names, as with Eminem on "Obsessed" (& "Clown")- and as always, Carey makes it seem and sound utterly effortless. Listen at the Source

Namely, Boris McGiver (aka Hersh aka George aka that hitman that just won’t die), Camryn Manheim (aka Control aka Ma’am aka QUEEN), Leslie Odom Jr. (who is amazing as this season’s Big Bad), John Doman (we’ve gotten so much Rawls lately, I love it), John Nolan (also amazing as the other Big Bad of the season) and Julian Ovenden (whose hair was fabulous last time we saw him on PoI).
This is not a still from The Dark Knight Rises and Jonathan Crane is not presiding. This is a still from a CBS “procedural”. No, really.

Damn right it is. Srsly, all sci-fi lovers need to catch up on the stealth hardcore sci-fi show that is Person of Interest. Especially if you are interested in Artificial Intelligence. This season has tackled the subject in such a surprisingly comprehensive way.

Dolly Parton has been the subject of more than a few rumors, but one of the more bizarre ones is that she’s got “secret” tattoos covering her breasts and arms. Turns out it’s true!
On the Today show, the country queen came clean when host Savannah Guthrie asked Parton if she wore long sleeves because she’s all inked up. ”I do have a few little tattoos,” the “9 to 5″ singer revealed, “but they were mostly done to cover scars because I’m so fair. So it started with that.”
Parton added, “they’re mostly for my husband.”
Channing Tatum has been confirmed to play Gambit in future X-Men films.
Producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently named Tatum as her ideal choice to play the comic book character, before it emerged that he was in talks for a potential solo film.
Donner has now confirmed that Tatum has signed up for a future project, telling Total Film: "It is Channing."
Explaining why Tatum has been selected, she said: "He's a rogue, he's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. He can handle the action, as we know, and he's got a real good heart, I know him personally." She added: "He'll be great for Gambit, and he's a southerner too, he understands that world, and you know Gambit loves New Orleans."
Tatum previously expressed interest in the role, telling MTV: "I met with Lauren Shuler Donner. And I would love it. Gambit is really the only X-Man I've ever loved. I mean I've loved them all, they're all great, but I guess from being down south - my dad's from Louisiana, I'm from Mississippi, Alabama, Florida - I don't know. I just related to him."
Goodbye, sweet prince…

“Handsome men don’t quite suit” - Doctor Who’s Steven Moffat on how to choose a Time Lord
SCOTTISH writer Steven Moffat has admitted that when it comes to choosing Time Lords for Doctor Who, he likes someone who is attractive, but only in an 'odd way'.
The 52-year-old's words may not be well-received by former Time Lord Matt Smith and current one Peter Capaldi, but Moffat believes that handsome actors simply do not fit the bill.

Niall Horan and Liam Payne will turn 21 later this year and it seems their birthdays coincide with the lads being on tour in the US meaning they can FINALLY enjoy a drink on the other side of the pond.
The One Direction hunks are currently on their Where We Are world tour, and while they have a few months to go before September, are already planning a blow-out bash.
“I reckon myself and Liam are probably going to end up having a joint 21st because his birthday is about two weeks before mine,” he told The Sun.
“We’ll have a few drinks there. We’ve been touring America for the past three years and not been able to touch a drop."
Another milestone on the tour that Niall's looking forward to is playing at Croke Park in Dublin, which will be the first time he's been home in 2014.
“Croker [Croke Park] is going to be unbelievable. It’s been a while since we’ve been in Dublin last, I haven’t been home since Christmas,” he added.
We bet it's going to be quite the bash lads!
Warner Bros. has dated J.K. Rowling’s first installment in the Harry Potter spinoff trilogy “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” for Nov. 18, 2016.
“Fantastic Beasts” becomes the first title on the date — two days before Lionsgate opens “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2″ as the final film in that franchise.
Warner Bros. topper Kevin Tsujihara revealed in March that the studio was following in the footsteps of “The Hobbit” franchise with three “megamovies” for “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
Tsujihara persuaded Rowling last year to revive the Harry Potter movie magic by adapting her Hogwarts textbook “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” for the big screen. Rowling wrote the 54-page book in 2001 between publication of the fourth and fifth Potter books.
Set initially in New York about seven decades before the start of the Harry Potter story, the films will follow magizoologist Newt Scamander. They’re not prequels or sequels, but an “extension of the wizarding world.”
The first of last night’s Louie episodes, “So Did the Fat Lady,” not only dismantles the fat-schlub-gets-hot-girl narrative seen historically throughout TV and movies, it acknowledges that this dynamic is very much alive and well in the real world. Essentially Louie asks, as compassionately as possible: if fat, middle-aged, bald, disgusting gingers like me are fucking models, who’s dating overweight women? And are they not worthy of love?

Before Batman, there was Gotham City — and a whole bunch of bad guys, too, by the look of it.
Already, Fox’s “Gotham” has carved out roles for key figures in the future Batman’s rogues gallery, like Catwoman (Camren Bicondova) and the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). In the first trailer for the upcoming TV series, we saw a brief glimpse of another of the Caped Crusader’s classic villains: Edward Nigma, alias the Riddler, played by actor Cory Michael Smith.
It looks like the puzzling criminal is here to stay, too: Smith has been promoted to full-on series regular status for “Gotham,” indicating that Riddler has a strong part to play in the coming episodes. In addition to Smith’s upgrade, Deadline reports that two others have become series regulars: Victoria Cartagena and Andrew Stewart Jones, who play Gotham cops Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen, respectively.
Beyond the increased role for Riddler, it appears “Gotham” has designs on Batman’s single greatest nightmare:

…and now take a closer look at that object in the distance, just above Harvey Bullock’s head, as pointed out by Bleeding Cool:
A new season of ABC's The Bachelorette kicks off May 19 (9:30 p.m. ET/PT) with Andi Dorfman, an assistant district attorney from Atlanta, in the driver's seat.
She'll start with 25 hot guys wooing her.
One of them, sadly, is Eric Hill, the Brigham Young University graduate who died after a paragliding accident in Utah on April 23, at age 31. He had completed filming the show and we will see him introduce himself to Andi on the first night, flashing a smile and talking about his travel adventures. He had been on a trek dubbed "The Global Odyssey" — also known as "GO With Eric" — to travel to every country in the world in fewer than 1,200 days.
"It was a horrible, tragic accident," says host Chris Harrison. "Everybody really enjoyed having him on the show. I know, from speaking to his family after, that it was a real positive experience for him." And, says Harrison, "He makes a big presence. Andi really likes him early on."
Harrison says that it "wouldn't have made sense" to edit him out. "That would have seemed disrespectful." Still, he figures that "no matter what we do, some people aren't going to like it. We're really trying to do the right thing. We've tried to delicately handle it without taking advantage. It's an homage to him."
Along with the 25 men, we'll also get to see one "party crasher" as one Andi wooer-wannabe shows up unannounced on the first night at the Bachelorette mansion. Security stops him and Harrison is called to investigate.
Oh please, that sounds like a set-up, doesn't it?

I can't believe this season is already about to start (and that Juan Pablo and Nikki are still together). Who will be watching next Monday?
Back in 2011, director Jonathan Levine and stars Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt teamed up to make what was ultimately one of the best films of that year: the cancer dramedy 50/50. Naturally, we were very excited when it was announced back in February that the director and his stars were going to be re-teaming on an untitled Christmas comedy, but now even more good news has arrived: they're close to signing on one of the most underrated actors currently working in Hollywood. Anthony Mackie, who we just saw superhero-suiting up just last month in Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier, is now in negotiations to co-star in the holiday pic.

My favorite part of Frozen — despite all of the hoopla surrounding “Let It Go,” and the fact that baby Anna looks like my actual little sister when she was a kid — is probably when Kristoff sings his lonely, misanthropic mountain song to his reindeer. So naturally, I was disheartened to hear that Jonathan Groff wouldn’t be in a stage adaptation of Frozen, whenever that dream really comes to fruition. And here’s the crazy part — that’s all according to him!
The big-screen sequel to Frozen is still a ways away, but that hasn't stopped Disney from pumping the property wherever it can: Last Sunday’s season finale of Once Upon a Time (broadcast on Disney-owned ABC) ended with the introduction of Elsa, and the show’s producers promise the ice queen will be a prominent character next season.
Last night at HBO’s premiere of The Normal Heart, we asked Groff (who voiced strapping mountain man Kristoff in Frozen) if he'd consider reprising his animated huntsman in the flesh, if the show asked?
“I would, but I’m not as hot as my cartoon character," he said. "It would be a big letdown. I’m not blond or six-foot-five.”
Well, would he consider joining the inevitable Broadway cast of Frozen instead? “Yes,” he told us, “If they let me sing 'Let It Go.'”
Oh, how we wish. That would be delightful. Can someone please give him a solo show? Let him host SNL? Something? Anything to hear his pipes on that song.
Groff attended The Normal Heart premiere with Lea Michele, who may also aspire to sing "Let it Go."
But Adelaide singers Zaachariaha Fielding and Kristal West didn't return the gesture when Kylie Minogue reached out to hug them on Monday night's show.
Zaachariaha, 22, said looking back at the footage was embarrassing.
He said he wanted the viewers to understand that he's respectful of all the judges: 'I look back at the footage and it did really embarrass me, but I was just so excited to see Ricky Martin.'
'I was graceful to all the judges - I've done nothing wrong to apologise for.'
Despite not planning to offer an apology, the singer from Adelaide showed his love for the Princess of Pop, sort of.
'I love Kylie, she's so beautiful...seeing her in person, she is so small.'
And on her music: 'I don't have a lot of that, I don't know any of her songs, but my cousins love her.'

A source (not 50 Cent) tells the New York Daily News that Solange Knowles' infamous elevator attack on brother-in-law Jay Z happened after Jay made plans to head to Rihanna's Met Ball after-party without bringing Beyoncé.
The tension between the two started earlier in the night, when a group of Solange's "non-famous" friends reportedly crashed the gala and started dropping Jay Z's name.
"They were pretending they were guests of his and not hers. Management went to Julius (Beyonce's bodyguard) and said there's a problem," the source said.
Shortly afterward, Jay Z apparently confronted Solange and told her "don't use my name."
At that point, Solange decided she wanted to leave, another source told the Daily News, and Jay Z decided to take off for Rihanna's party on his own, calling ahead to say he wouldn't need extra security.
Solange reportedly lost it. Here's the second source's account of the conversation that took place in the elevator video:
"She said, 'Why can't you go home?' and to Beyonce 'Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?'"
"You're one to talk," Jay replied.
That's when the punching, kicking, and purse-swinging started.
Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Solange have yet to comment on what happened that night, but the sisters have been subtly throwing shade at each other on Instagram since then.
Soooooo: Wendy Williams, who is no stranger to marital "stuff," has her own theory about what went down in the Standard elevator the other night and it plays into rumors that have been swirling for years now: that Jay Z is a known Cassanova. The blind item gossip site Crazy Days and Nights has long speculated that Hova had affairs with both Rihanna and Rita Ora and, in this clip from Williams' show this morning, she speculates with a capital "S" that one of Z's alleged former flames, designer Rachel Roy, was the reason for Solange's blow up. Even though Williams herself admits she is just fucking guessing at this point, she does bring up an interesting tidbit: Beyonce didn't wear her ring to the Nets game on Saturday night and appears to be getting her "IV" tattoo on her ring finger removed. It's all intriguing stuff, and a lot more compelling of a storyline than the Post's obnoxious narrative that Solange is just a "CRAY-Z" woman who was over-served and turned on a dime. Meanwhile, Solange has scrubbed her Instagram of all photos of her sister, which means...something. Also, Beyoncé possibly stormed out on Jay Z at Roberta's the other night so there's that, too [Ed note: Beyoncé, we hope you took that 'Fennel Fantasy' to go!].
Anywho, we look forward to never knowing the truth because the Beygency is sweeping this under the rug and off to a magical place called Abyss Island, where Tupac and Kurt Cobain are currently zip-lining with Jesus.
YAAAAAAS QUEEN WENDY serve the tea, when will ANYBODY else!!

Two brothers who were recently fired by HGTV after their anti-gay views came to light said this week that they had been silenced by a “demonic agenda.”
In an interview on Monday, The Blaze’s Glenn Beck told Jason and David Benham that the same “agenda” that had forced them out for comparing same-sex marriage to Nazism was now celebrating gay football player Michael Sam.
Jason Benham pointed out, however, that the LGBT community would destroy Sam as soon as he “changes his lifestyle.” David Benham argued that they had been attacked by the same “spirit” that had been “punching nations since the beginning of time.”
Beck agreed, and connected that spirit back to Nazism in “eastern Europe and Germany.” “We’re headed down the book-burning road,” Beck warned. Jason Benham remarked that the “homosexual community” was not the enemy: “No, it’s God vs. the Devil.”
“And there’s a small number of people in this world that buy into the idea of this agenda that wants to silence people,” he opined.
“We are called to restrain evil so that good may flourish,” David Benham remarked. “Don’t force yourself on anyone. Don’t force your beliefs. That’s why we have the freedom of religion, and the freedom of speech, the freedom of expression, and the freedom of press, is because of this faith that is outlined in the Bible.”
“We now have the opportunity as a people — right now in 2014 — to say, okay, let’s return back, let’s go back to our foundations,” he added. “I’m not saying that you can’t be a homosexual or an adulterous heterosexual.”
“What we’re talking about right now on one of our talking points is that fact that we are Americans. This polarizing in which we live is being operated by a demonic agenda to suppress the truth.” David Benham later reminded Beck about the story of an evil biblical sorcerer who owned a donkey, and he noted that the Democratic Party also used a donkey as its symbol.

“Friday Night Lights” fans, it’s time to lay that pigskin to rest: The movie isn’t going to happen and, moreover, Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins himself) never wanted it to.
When Kitsch stopped by to chat with Josh Horowitz for his podcast, Happy Sad Confused, the topic of the long-canceled yet still beloved TV show that Kitsch appeared on was unavoidable.
“I love playing that guy,” he said of his character, a high school football player who doesn’t have much more going on in his life than ball and booze at most points. However, he was never interested in a movie, he said.
“[The movie is] put to bed. I never wanted to,” Kitsch said. “[Executive producer] Pete [Berg] contested that, he was like, ‘Are you sure?’ It was really centralized on Cons and Coach T stuff, and, of course, Rigs had a couple little moments. We ended [the show] just right.”
He can’t escape his infamous character though, to the danger of his liver.
“The beauty of Rigs was the guys love him,” he said. “They wanna get drunk with Riggins. If I go to the bar just for a drink or a beer — it’s all flattering — but it’s like, guys I’m not 18 with an alcohol problem.”

We cried our eyes out on the floor and then picked ourselves up and had some drinks…We went to the bar, and then we wandered around the airport ’til like 3 in the morning.”

After weeks of rumblings that Roberto Orci was the frontrunner, sources have told Variety that Skydance and Paramount have indeed tapped Orci to direct Paramount and Skydance’s “Star Trek 3.”
Orci is currently writing the story with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and had been campaigning to replace J.J. Abrams as director for some time. Abrams is busy with directing the next installment of the “Star Wars” franchise and will only be producing this pic.
Par, Skydance and his reps had no comment.
Plot details are unknown, but cast members including Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are expected to return. Abrams will produce along with his producing partner Bryan Burke and Skydance’s David Ellison.
The news comes after Orci and longtime writing partner Alex Kurtzman decided to go their separate ways on future filmmaking endeavors (although their TV production company is staying intact). Sources had told Variety that both were looking to direct more pics and that going solo would be in the best interest of both parties.
Orci is repped by CAA.
