Emmy-winning comedian and actress Sarah Silverman has joined the second season of the drama from Michelle Ashford, the premium cable network announced Monday.
Based on the true story of real-life pioneers of human sexuality William Masters (played by Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan), the hourlong series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier's book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Love. The show chronicles their journey from doing research in a Missouri hospital to appearing on the cover of Time magazine.
Silverman will recur as Helen, Betty's (Annaleigh Ashford) former lesbian lover. The character is described as a palm reader who believes she's a psychic, who is still pining for Betty. She joins a cast that also includes Caitlin FitzGerald, Teddy Sears, Helene Yorke, Beau Bridges and Allison Janney.

With their busy lifestyles and working commitments, it's rare that the Spice Girls get to hang out with each other these days. So it's little surprise that when the group got together to celebrate Victoria Beckham's 40th birthday at London's Arts Club on Saturday night, that they let their hair down a little.

Now in its second season, Hannibal unleashes a level of terror and gore that tests — if not frequently oversteps — the typical standards of network television. Based on Thomas Harris's novel Red Dragon, a prequel to Silence of the Lambs, the series traces FBI consultant Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) as he faces off with Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mikkelsen). Hannibal's cannibalistic creations are equal parts grotesque and gourmet, and they're no mere set dressing; the dishes are inextricably woven into the storyline of its episode. This means Poon's role far exceeds that of a typical TV food stylist, from her chummy relationships with the actors to the sheer demands of the job.

Fresh off a hospital stay that put him out of commission for two weeks, Artie Lange just broke the news that the DirecTV show that bears his name has been cancelled. Lange stated the three year contract he had for the show ended in 5 months. However he and his staff were all thrown for a curve ball when DirecTV decided that his show tonight would be its last.
Lange spent the rest of the show joking with his staff about the news and and cracking on things like how quickly DirecTV will dismantle the studio and fielding calls of disbelief from his fans and having the show’s final guest, Chris DeStefano.
The Artie Lange Show rose from the ashes of The Nick And Artie Show with Lange and his co-host Nick DiPaolo teaming up after Lange’s well-publicized departure from The Howard Stern Show.

From Internet Chat to Related Projects, ‘Mean Girls’ Endures
In the 2004 film “Mean Girls,” Regina George, iron-fisted ruler of the high school in-crowd, snaps at her sidekick, Gretchen Wieners, over some newfangled slang Gretchen is testing out. “Stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen,” Regina snarls. “It’s not going to happen.”
Regina was wrong. “Fetch” did happen, and is still happening. Quote that line to any young woman from middle school on, and she’ll probably finish it for you automatically. Ten years after it bowed in theaters, “Mean Girls” remains a relevant pop-culture reference point and a go-to source of shorthand for female — and human — dynamics.
Written by Tina Fey, then known mainly for “Saturday Night Live,” and based on the self-help book “Queen Bees and Wannabes” by Rosalind Wiseman, the movie follows the transformation of Cady (Lindsay Lohan) from the studious home-taught daughter of zoologists just back from Africa to the insufferable pet of the Plastics, as the popular girls at her first American school are known. The cast included future stars like Rachel McAdams (as Regina) and Lizzy Caplan as Cady’s outcast friend, Janis Ian.
The film, directed by Mark Waters, made $121 million at the worldwide box office. But that was just the beginning; the film has found a second life on the Internet. It’s one of the most popular topics on Twitter, though the movie predates the platform. Tumblr, home of memes that slap “Mean Girls” lines over photos of everything from “Hunger Games” to Capitol Hill encounters, says that in the last month alone, users have created more than 10,000 posts and 477,000 notes related to the film.
And the concept of popular types, outcasts and the ecosystem they share is still a hot one in Hollywood. Two projects based on Ms. Wiseman’s subsequent books, about mothers and teenage boys, are in development. Sean Anders and John Morris (“We’re the Millers”) have written “Mean Moms,” due out next year. Mr. Anders and Mr. Morris are also working on the concept for a boy-centric film. And a stage musical version of “Mean Girls” is in the works, with Ms. Fey producing and her husband, the composer Jeff Richmond, scoring.
Here, most of the principal cast members and creative team (Lindsay Lohan wasn’t available to comment) reflect on the past, present and future of a film that became a phenomenon.
ROSALIND WISEMAN: People had called about turning it into a movie or a TV show, and I had no problem turning them down, because it was always something cheesy. They were trying to make it about me — “You’re so inspirational!” Then Tina called. I didn’t know who she was — I had a new baby, I had a book coming out. I wasn’t watching “SNL.” But I knew it was important to her that it was not going to be stupid.
TINA FEY: Rosalind wanted the movie to be positive, and I remember promising her that that was the goal — to have a positive core.
WISEMAN: I’ve found a lot of success in my life by collaborating with women who are smart and funny, and Tina fit that category. From the time I said yes until the time it came out was about 18 months.

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea sat down for a lengthy interview with PrideSource in which she discussed the music business, the themes in her music, and her relationships with gay people.
I know I talk about women a lot, and I think women are beautiful and I like talking about them, but I didn't want people to misconstrue that and think that I was being a fake lesbian. It wasn't a, "Don't think I'm gay," but more so me being like, "Hey, I'm not a fake lesbian." Straight's cool too, you know! It's almost like gay nowadays is so trendy that people want to be gay and then they don't. I'm not gay. I love gay people, but I'm straight. I don't wanna kiss girls. I'm not into girls. I appreciate women, and I like rapping about them, but in case you thought I was a lame person pretending to be gay, um, I'm not...I just hate when people do it to try to be trendy, and I see it so much in songwriting and it's like, you're not even bi-curious! You've probably never even been with a girl in any capacity! But somebody's written this lyric for you and you think it's cool so you're saying it? It's corny and it's lame.
I wish I could see this show. In Bruges is one of my favorite movies of all time. McDonagh is the master of wit. Anyone seen Cripple? ETA: And no Tony nom for DanRad. Get those snubs, bb.
Commissioner Adam Silver proclaimed the game in great shape.
On the court, it is. The playoffs have been outstanding — already seven overtime games (an NBA record for one round) and several others decided in the final minutes of regulation.
Silver had no idea then an audio recording, allegedly of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, uttering racist comments was about to interrupt and overshadow a compelling start to the postseason and possibly damage the league's reputation.
Now Silver, less than three months into job since taking over for David Stern, faces his first true watershed moment with players, coaches, owners, fans and sponsors awaiting his next move.
Expect Silver to penalize Sterling as harshly as possible. Silver said the commissioner's office has a broad range of powers under the NBA's constitution and bylaws, which are not public.
( Collapse )
"While it might be Donald Sterling today for something he said privately, every owner has to have somewhat of a concern that they'll forced to give up an incredibly valuable property."
It's one thing to go against the players in collective bargaining and find a way to distribute billions or raise the age limit for the draft. But with 76.3% of the league's players black and 81% players of color, according Richard Lapchick's 2013 Gender and Race Report Card for the NBA, Silver must stand resolutely on the players' side and deliver a punishment that satisfies them.
He looks like a Bond villain. Hopefully he does the right thing today.

“I have heard the song and I have heard that rumor and I really don’t know where it came from,” Rita said. ” [I] never [dated him]. I actually met Nick through a friend and it was a very weird situation because we were close, but it never went to that level and then I read the lyric and I kind of messaged him and was like, ‘I have no idea where this came from. If you want to talk about it, call me.’”
Rita continued, “He was like, ‘You know what, I just obviously didn’t put out how I felt across to you properly.’ And it was one of those situations. He never really told me that I think, but regardless we’re still friends and I still have a lot of respect for him.”

It's official: HBO's cult favorite comedy series "The Comeback" is heading back to the network nearly a decade after its debut for a short comeback series of sorts.
Stars Lisa Kudrow, Malin Akerman and Kellan Lutz are all expected to return, and show creator Michael Patrick King, "Scandal" star/writer Dan Bucantinsky (who's also Kudrow's producing partner) and "Carrie Diaries" creator Amy B. Harris are all part of the creative team.
"The Comeback" ran for 13 episodes in 2005, and followed Kudrow as Valerie Cherish, a washed-up sitcom star who joins a new show and allows reality show cameras to follow her around and capture her triumphant comeback (spoiler alert: it goes less-than-smoothly).

The Canadian actress turned real-life superhero when she came out to the world on Valentine’s Day.
This morning we all delighted in the casting announcement for Star Wars VII. And then the reality set in: There is only one new female character being added to what is arguably the world's most beloved mythic series. It's as if 51 percent of the population cried out in pain, and was suddenly silenced.
Let me tell you about my seven-year-old niece, Hannah. She's one of those girly girls who wears pink sparkly boots and does ballet. She also has a pink toy sword, a pink shield, and does karate. And when she talks about princesses, which happens a lot, one of her models is the "fighting princess" Leia. Hannah is part of a generation of kids growing up in the Star Wars/Disney universe, and already the Star Wars part of that equation has changed the way she plays princess games and the way she imagines herself in superheroic form. Leia gives Hannah options that Ariel doesn't. And vice-versa.
So when I looked at that Star Wars cast list, Hannah was on my mind. Surely in the second decade of the twenty-first century, she'd be given more awesome female characters to choose from in this contemporary incarnation of Star Wars. Leia would still be there, as the fighting princess — but maybe there would be a female fighter pilot whose swagger could rival Han Solo's, or a female Sith strutting through some scenery-chewing lines. Nope. There's one female name other than Carrie Fisher's on that cast list: the relative unknown Daisy Ridley, whom fans are speculating might play the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia. Of course, more cast members will be announced, but this is probably our core cast — the main characters.
Having Ridley is great, but one new female lead in a cast of men? That's how we launch ourselves into the future of this series, which inspires little girls with pink swords, as well as old girls like myself who graduated to sharper weapons long ago? Are we seriously still pretending that the universe is comprised almost entirely of men (and mostly white men at that)? Mythic tales are supposed to open up possibilities, not shut them down.

There's only room for one "Glee" diva, and apparently it's Lea Michele.
Naya Rivera has been fired from the FOX series days after an initial report of an on-set feud involving the actresses surfaced, sources close to production confirm to the Daily News.
Rumors of a rift between the actresses began to swirl earlier this month, with a "major altercation" coming to head on set April 15, Us Weekly reported.
But it appears Rivera's disagreement that day was with producers, and Michele's name was caught in the crossfire.
"She went off," a source told The News about the on-set spat. "But it had nothing to do with Lea."
It was reported that Rivera was "jealous" of the attention on her Broadway-trained costar. Now it appears producers have had it.
Rivera has been "written out" of the season 5 finale, and will not return for the next season, according to PopWrapped.
"One costar would not have any power in whether another returns to the show," the production insider told The News, dismissing rumors that Michele had a say in the matter.
Aside from "Glee," both women have endured hardships in their personal lives — with Michele, 27, recovering from the death of her boyfriend and fellow "Glee" actor Cory Monteith, and Rivera ending her engagement to rapper Big Sean earlier this month.
After the near-universal acclaim that director Cary Fukunaga received from his work on HBO’s True Detective, his name has been thrown around for a lot of high-profile Hollywood projects. Now Deadline is reporting that Fukunaga has zeroed in on one project in particular.
According to the site, he will helm a big screen version of Tom Reiss’ Pulitzer Prize winning biography of General Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, titled The Black Count. Fukunaga will direct the movie, and John Legend and his Get Lifted Film Co. partner Mike Jackson will serve as executive producers.
Reiss’ novel covers the life of Dumas, who was the highest-ranking officer of color to ever serve in a European army. He served during the French Revolution and later under Napoleon in Egypt. Dumas’ son also went on to great fame as the author of The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers, and he based parts of these novels on his father’s exploits.
Speaking to the June issue of Glamour magazine, Lily said: “I do feel betrayed by my sex… People have got their own agendas these days. It’s obvious when it’s about ego and them wanting to sound clever. It’s sad. Exhausting. Your own sex, in the name of feminism, hitting you back down. But I’m not gonna censor myself. I’m not gonna be beige.”
And Lily told how returning to work has made her builder husband Sam more “loving” and “caring”.
She said: “I was really worried about working and the pressure it was going to put us under, and it’s actually made him more protective and more loving and more caring. He’s there for me. It was a tough decision to make, a scary adjustment, and for the children. But my relationship with my husband is as strong as it’s ever been. It’s lovely to come home to.”
She also admitted that staying at home all day didn't suit her adding: “I wasn't good at staying at home all day, it didn’t suit me. I’m creative, it’s just who I am… I missed the positive feedback about my music from my fans. I missed the rush of performing. I missed the free clothes and handbags and the good tables in posh restaurants. I did!”
"The big surprise, I'm told, is that [Harrison] Ford has a gigantic role in the first of the next three films." And if he's going to finally get JJ Abrams to do what he wanted back in 1983, maybe we'll see Ford die as Han Solo, kicking off this next chapter of the "Star Wars" saga and closing the door on the legacy of the series in one fell swoop.
According to a report on Deadline tonight, tomorrow morning is the table read for "Star Wars Episode VII" in London. I'm sure the security on that room will be tighter than at the White House, with Bad Robot snipers posted on the rooftops and actual Stormtroopers outside the room where they do the reading.

"I'm doing good. Much better. ... You have no idea," said Miley Cyrus calling in to Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. It's her first time speaking publicly since her hospitalization for an allergic reaction to medication.
The star explained: "I had gotten sick on the road. I feel like everyone's gotten this ongoing cough thing. ... It felt like I had a little bit of like the flu, cold situation. So they gave me some medicine. I was on this medicine for five days and everything was all good and on the sixth day ... it was so scary I woke up...When you're allergic to something you're poisoning yourself. I was poisoning myself. It was so scary."
She added, "I couldn't breathe."
But she figured she was fine when she wasn't. "I'm not someone that wants to lay down and get 100% better. I was in the hospital the one night and was ready to do the show and woke up and went back to the hospital and then left again and three hours later I was back having the same reaction. ... It was insane. I thought it was going to be a night, but it was five or six days."

The First Cat of Westeros isn’t coming back to HBO’s Game of Thrones anytime soon.
Ser Pounce is off the show for the rest of the fourth season, at least. The king-guarding feline sparked a social media surge after interrupting Margaery Tyrell’s quasi-seduction of teenage King Tommen on Sunday’s episode. HBO told us Ser Pounce does not appear in any of the six episodes that remain this year. (Only Game of Thrones could spark a post-episode frenzy over man raping his sister one week, followed by a cat with a cute name the next week.) That said, Ser Pounce could potentially appear in future seasons, especially since he’s in George R.R. Martin’s later Song of Ice and Fire novels.
Here’s our exchange with Ser Pounce’s very unofficial Twitter feed discussing the subject when we broke this tragic news yesterday:

April 29, 2014 -- Donald Sterling was fined $2.5 million and banned for life from all NBA games after the Los Angeles Clippers owner was recorded making racist comments.
Adam Silver, the commissioner of the National Basketball Association, held a news conference to announce the results of the investigation, which found that the voice heard on two recordings were those of Sterling.
"The hateful opinions are those of Mr. Sterling," Silver said. "The views are deeply offensive and harmful. That they came from an NBA owner only heightens the outrage."
The players' union had asked Silver to rule quickly, preferably before the Clippers play host to Golden State in the fifth game of their playoff series this evening. Last weekend, Silver said he has broad authority to address issues with owners that threaten the game's best interests.
The league's bylaws allow for Silver to levy a penalty of up to $1 million without needing the approval of other owners if he deems Sterling's actions have damaged the league as a whole.

(CNN) -- Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life from the NBA and given the maximum fine possible for racist remarks ripped by many inside and outside the world's biggest basketball league.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced the lifetime ban and a $2.5 million fine on Tuesday, about eight hours before Sterling's Clippers were to tip off in the fifth game of their tightly contested first-round playoff series with the Golden State Warriors.
The decision -- coming just three days after website TMZ posted audio featuring the incendiary comments, which Silver said that Sterling admitted he made -- was widely applauded by NBA owners, players and others connected to the league.
"I hope that every bigot in this country sees what happened to Mr. Sterling and recognizes that if he can fall, so can you," Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, a former NBA All-Star who was tasked with leading the NBA players union's efforts on this matter.

Hmm, are Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner collaborating on something?
Well, such speculation has surfaced after the two were seen arriving, albeit separately, at SilverCup Studios in Queens, New York, on Monday.
"Justin came to the studio, then Kendall arrived a little bit later to the same studio," a source tells E! News. "They stayed for a few hours."
The eyewitness added that that the 20-year-old pop singer arrived to the studios through the garage, while the 18-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star walked in through the front door, completely alone, soon after him.
Our source believes they left separately as well.
The sighting comes just one day after there were reports the two were going to star in the next Calvin Klein campaign.
However, a source informed E! News that there's no truth to the rumor that that they are teaming up for the fashion brand.
Also, Calvin Klein's spokesperson told us that "as a policy we don't comment on rumors."
Guess time will tell what brought them together yesterday.

We Luh This! Jennifer Lopez was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday, April 28, and together, the singer and show host deconstructed the lyrics of her latest hit single, "I Luh Ya Papi."
"Luh is short for love," Kimmel explained to his audience. "But it can be confusing, especially for older people who don't know the new lingo, the new abbreviation, so tonight, with Jennifer's help, I'm going to try to translate the meaning of this song in a new segment called, 'New Lyrics For Old People.'"
Wearing a leg-baring long-sleeve white bandage dress with sheer cut-out strips, Lopez, 44, started rattling off lyrics from her smash, addictive song in an accent and cadence similar to her recording. "I put it down for a brother like you / Give it to you right in the car that's you."
"Now that means, 'I would like to have sex with you in a motor vehicle,'" Kimmel quipped.
"That's right!" Lopez said, continuing on, "We can first give you some of this, that's you / And you're all that loving that J.Lo, true."
"Okay, that, now I don't understand. What does that mean?" Kimmel asked.
"That means you love me," she said bursting out into laughter.
As the two went back and forth, sexual innuendos—from erection to oral sex and more—spilled forth.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are set to wed in Los Angeles this week, it has been reported.
The couple, who are planning an extravagant ceremony in Paris, France, next month, will be saying 'I do' before the week's out, according to TMZ.com.
However, while Kim and Kanye's French nuptials on May 24th will no doubt be an over-the-top lavish do, this week's ceremony is due to be a much more low-key affair.
After obtaining a 'confidential' marriage license in a bid to keep the news quiet, Kim and Kanye will be walking down the aisle in a 'courthouse wedding'.
But in true Kardashian style, the pair are reportedly planning to celebrate becoming husband and wife at a do with friends and family following the ceremony.
The wedding comes after Kanye popped the question last October - four months after Kim gave birh to their daughter North West.
It was previously reported that Kim and Kanye were planning to have a ceremony in America, as wel as a further two in France, after their lawyers allegedly recommended a US wedding to avoid any legal issues.
A source said: 'Typically, the U.S. recognizes citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare.
‘So just to make sure it’s legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California.’

While you can't see the model's head, there's one dead giveaway: visible in the cover shot is the horseshoe tattoo that Upton has on her left wrist! The ink all but confirms Upton's appearance on the cover.
As for the high-fashion photo, Upton shows of her voluptuous cleavage and long legs in a retro-style bikini top and high-waisted bikini bottoms.
This would be Upton's second British Vogue cover. She's also covered American Vogue once before.
The song appears headed for a striking top 10 debut on next week's Hot 100.
While highlights of this week's Billboard Hot 100 chart will be revealed tomorrow (April 30), details are already emerging about next week's chart, on which Ariana Grande appears headed for a haughty top 10 debut with her new single, "Problem," featuring Iggy Azalea.
Industry sources suggest that the song, which previews Grande's second album, due this summer, could sell more than 300,000 downloads in the tracking week ending Sunday, May 2, following its digital release yesterday (28). Such a start, regardless of any added airplay or streaming points, would likely translate to a top 10 debut on the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100. We'll know where the song starts on the chart a week from tomorrow (May 7).
(The April 28-May 2 Nielsen SoundScan sales tracking week will feed next week's chart data, encompassing the song's full opening retail week, thus, explaining why the track will likely make its heralded Hot 100 start then, not this week.)
How notable is a debut sales frame of at least 300,000? Just 22 songs have arrived with that sum or better since SoundScan began tracking digital sales more than a decade ago. The last two such songs launched on the Nov. 16, 2013 Digital Songs chart: Eminem's "The Monster," featuring Rihanna (373,000) and One Direction's "Story of My Life" (305,000). (Flo Rida's "Right Round" holds the record with 636,000 first-week downloads sold [Feb. 28, 2009]).

According to The Wrap, "Saturday Night Live" alum Maya Rudolph has signed on for a lead role in Marvel and Disney's "Big Hero 6" animated feature. Disney representatives declined comment, but if true, Rudolph would join comedian TJ Miller, who is voicing Fredzilla, and "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" actress Jamie Chung, who is voicing GoGo Tomago.
RELATED: D23: Disney Dishes New "Big Hero 6" Details
While Rudolph is likely best known for her many years on "Saturday Night Live," she has a lengthy credits sheet, appearing in everything from the critically acclaimed films "Bridesmaids" and "The Way Way Back" to NBC's recent sitcom "Up All Night" with her new series "The Maya Rudolph Show" set to debut May 19. The actress has also had her fair share of voiceover work, recently playing Precious in "The Nut Job" with roles in "Shrek the Third," "The Simpsons" and "Turbo."
The current known cast has not yet been officially announced by Disney -- Chung's casting confirmation comes from her bio for "Believe" on NBC.com, while Miller confirmed his involvement during an interview earlier this year.
Directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams, "Big Hero 6" is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film centers in on robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada and his robot friend Baymax as they join forces with a team of freshman crime fighters to save the futuristic city of San Fransokyo (a combination of San Francisco and Tokyo) from a criminal plot. The film debuts November 7.
She will either play Cass or Honey Lemon
Adam Lambert has been busying himself by taking part in recording sessions with Max Martin (who was behind the singer’s Grammy-nominated Top 10 hit “Whataya Want From Me”), hitting the set of Glee for his recurring role as Elliot “Starchild” Gilbert and prepping for his upcoming summer tour with Queen. But while Lambert has parted ways with RCA since the release of his 2012 sophomore LP Trespassing, that isn’t stopping the label’s parent company Sony from issuing The Very Best Of Adam Lambert in May, via imprint Sony Legacy.
According to Billboard, the compilation will be released on May 27 — a mere three weeks before the Adam/Queen tour kicks off at Chicago’s United Center (on June 19). Hmmmm. Interesting timing. Might Sony be regretting losing the American Idol alum, now that he’s suddenly so prolific in 2014?

It's been almost three years since April 27, 2011, the day tornadoes devastated the state of Alabama. More than 250 people in Alabama lost their lives due to the tornadoes. Among them was Ashley Harrison, the girlfriend of Crimson Tide long snapper Carson Tinker, who was huddled with her in a closet trying to survive the storm.
The tornado destroyed the house, shredding it, and in the process, sucked Tinker, Harrison and everyone else there up, shooting into the sky. Tinker's body landed some 50 yards away from where their house had been. When he awoke hours later in a hospital, he learned Ashley didn't survive after having been ripped from his arms. Tinker suffered a concussion, injured his wrist and his ankle, which would require a skin graft. For some, Tinker, as an Alabama football player, became one of the faces of the tragedy.
In the aftermath of the tornadoes, the entire state of Alabama pulled closer together to aid in the healing, and Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban often spoke about how his team would be part of that, offering to help in any way they could. Some eight months later, Alabama won another BCS National Title and Tinker spoke about how that helped "bury the pain" for him and many others.
Since then, the Crimson Tide went on to win another national title, the 24-year-old Tinker moved on and is now playing in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's also written a book, "A Season To Remember: Faith In The Midst Of The Storm" about what he went through, but also about how he's grown from it all. Earlier this week, I caught up with Tinker who had been a big part of the 2011 documentary I worked on with Joe Tessitore and Martin Khodabakhshian called Roll Tide/War Eagle, to talk about his new book and what he's learned from it all as well as about the impact so many have had on him.

Producers 20th Television also declined comment on the alleged flap between Rivera and co-star Lea Michele.
Contrary to reports, Glee's Naya Rivera is not leaving the Fox series.
The New York Daily News reported Monday that Rivera had been fired from the musical dramedy on Tuesday following the actress' alleged feud with co-star Lea Michele and subsequent flap with producers.
"Any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from Glee are absolutely untrue. End of story," a rep for Rivera tells The Hollywood Reporter. Reps forGlee producers 20th Century Fox Television declined comment on Rivera's future with the series and speculation about the on-set altercation.
Rumors of off-screen tension between Rivera and Michele surfaced earlier this month following an alleged on-set altercation. The New York Daily News reported that the rift was not with Michele but instead with producers on the musical dramedy where she has played the outspoken Santana Lopez since season one and been a regular since Glee's sophomore run.
Sources tell THR that any reports that Rivera has been banned from set are untrue. Rumors that the actress cleaned out her trailer and won't return to the series are being misrepresented as Rivera is already on hiatus from the show. Sources also say that the actress has not received any letters from the network or studio to change her behavior.
"If you think the Star Wars: Episode VII casting process is finished, the Force is not strong with you.
Several sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that director J.J. Abrams has another substantial role to fill — and it's a female part. No further details are known.
That might be good news for a vocal segment of Star Wars fans that have bemoaned the lack females in the six previous films and the just-announced new cast. In Tuesday’s big announcement, newcomer Daisy Ridley is the only woman among the crop of actors joining the franchise, which include John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow.
Earlier this year, THR revealed that the production was seeking a mixed-raced female in her twenties. The director did meet with 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong'o just before the Oscars, although it is not known for what part. And at one point, speculation centered on unknown British actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers. It is unclear if that young female part still exists or if it has been removed due to rewrites."

The Internet Is About to Become Worse Than Television

I know we've had a lot of net neutrality "scares" in the past, but this time, it's happening. In case you didn't know, courts officially over turned key rules that prevented this sort of thing from happening. Now there's nothing stopping the FCC and big business from charging astounding prices for less service. Meaning you will more than likely be paying two to three times the price of your regular utility bills to use a choked and censored internet.
ETA: Here's a petition you can sign, and more resources about how to prevent this from happening.
Billy Connolly has disclosed that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and prostate cancer on the same day.
The 71-year-old comedian, who is married to the psychologist Pamela Stephenson, described how the phone call telling him he had Parkinson's came only hours after doctors had broken the news of his prostate cancer last September.
"I remember I went through to the bedroom to answer the phone," Connolly told the Radio Times. "Pamela was behind me – I thought she was gonna catch me. And she sort of held me and I went, 'Oh Jesus'."

Warner Bros has no current plans for a Wonder Woman film.
Following the announcement that Zack Snyder will direct a Justice League movie, Warner/DC revealed that a spinoff for the iconic superhero is still not in the works.
Executives are said to be "warm" to the idea of a Wonder Woman film starring Batman vs Superman's Gal Gadot.
"That is our hope," president of worldwide marketing Sue Kroll told The Wall Street Journey.
"With the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her."
President of worldwide production Greg Silverman and New Line Cinema president Toby Emmerich revealed that Shazam, Metal Men (WHAT THE FUCK IS METAL MEN) and Vertigo series 100 Bullets and Fables are currently in development.
Justice League is planned to film back-to-back with Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, and is targeting a 2017 release.

Sometimes, on the New York party circuit, you are gripped with fear that you've chosen to attend the wrong event.
Vanity Fair's party for the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday was not one of those nights.
When the mayor is working one side of the room, the governor chats up the other and the rarely seen, newly anointed Pulitzer winner Donna Tartt is in the middle, you know you're in the right place.
Held in the foyer of Manhattan Supreme Court, the annual party, hosted by Graydon Carter, Ron Perelman and Robert De Niro, attracts politicians, captains of industry, tech entrepreneurs, acclaimed writers, lauded filmmakers, opera singers, former police commissioners, artists, models and John McEnroe.
Among the guests were Mayor Bill de Blasio and Chirlane McCray, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Tory Burch, Courteney Cox, Tom Freston, Fran Lebowitz, Charlie Rose, Eric Schmidt, Christy Turlington, Ed Burns and Anna Wintour.
The only person we spoke to who had actually seen a film from the festival was Harvey Weinstein.
His picks: "'Keep On Keepin' On.' That was good. 'Miss Meadows,' with Katie Holmes, loved that. Thought she gave an incredible performance, an Academy performance. '5 to 7,' with the French girl who was in James Bond, Bérénice Marlohe."
Katie can next be seen in Weinstein produced THE GIVER!

The Smithsonian is a Hollywood hotspot? It’s true that many of the collections are sprinkled with stardust, including the Ruby Slippers, Miss Piggy and Katharine Hepburn’s four Academy Awards; and yes, the exhibition “Dancing the Dream” at the National Portrait Gallery rolls out an Oscar-worthy Red Carpet. It also turns out that the Smithsonian has been featured in nearly two dozen movies, beginning with the 1951 The Day the Earth Stood Still. Starring Michael Rennie and directed by Robert Wise, the classic sci-fi film opened with an alien spaceship flying over the Smithsonian Castle and landing on the Ellipse in front of the White House to warn Earthlings about warlike behavior in the Atomic Age.
Currently, the National Air and Space Museum is taking its cinematic bow. Several scenes in this month’s box office smash Captain America: The Winter Soldier were partially filmed there, although true to Hollywood form, the museum’s movie role is both real and reel (with apologies to Frank Sanello, author of the seminal 2002 work, "Reel V. On the heels of last week's teaser images, Jem and the Holograms has added Step Up All In star Ryan Guzman to the cast. The Hollywood Reporter says he'll be playing Rio Pacheco who, in the cartoon, was both the band's road manager and a love interest for Jem.
The Jon M. Chu film is already set to star Aubrey Peeples as Jem, Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Hayley Kiyoko as Aja and Aurora Perrineau as Shana.
Created by Christy Marx, the original "Jem and the Holograms" series was a joint collaboration from Hasbro, Marvel and Sunbow Productions. It began airing in 1985 and ran for three seasons, following the adventures of the titular Jem, the musical superstar alter ego of a young woman named Jerrica Benton who, with the help of a holographic computer called Synergy, is able to clandestinely perform rock concerts with her friends.
I know they're probably going for a PG rating, but can they throw in a shirtless scene for the older girls/gays who grew up on Jem and want to see some man-candy?

"My little girl is wonderful," he said. "Little Teddy. We are going to do more of them because they are amazing."
“She’s very kind and gentle," the pop king said in another interview.
"There’s nothing more heart-warming than having a child and I hate to use a Whitney Houston cliché but it really is the greatest love of all.”

Ellen Page, one of the stars of the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, is promoting a new film for the first time as an out and proud lesbian.
'I feel more creatively inspired than I have in years,' she tells Flare Magazine in its June issue. 'And I’m sure it has to do with a lot of bricks being taken out of the backpack.'
'I expected so much more hate,' she adds. 'It was just remarkably positive, which is beautiful, because it’s indicative of the change that’s happening.'
Now 27, Page had come out to her parents when she was 19. But she did not go public until Valentine's Day earlier this year when she declared her sexuality at a Human Rights Campaign event in Las Vegas.
'I was very nervous. I was very nervous, yes. Yes. Very, very nervous. Yes. I was emotional, deeply, deeply emotional.' she says of the HRC event.
Looking back, she realizes she still had issues about being gay even after coming out to her parents and becoming a movie star with her Oscar nominated performance in Juno followed by such films as Inception, Whip It and to Rome With Love.
'I think I still felt scared about people knowing,' she admits. 'I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself.'
As her star continued to rise, she was advised not to go public. But there was something about being closeted that, in the end, just seemed unreasonable.
'You hear things like, "People shouldn’t know about your life because you’re creating an illusion on-screen." But I don’t see other actresses going to great lengths to hide their heterosexuality. That’s an unfair double standard.
In an interview with Global Grind’s Blogxilla, Ashanti talked about going head-to-head musically with Beyoncé during the early ’00s. If you’ll recall, the two were often compared once Beyoncé went solo, and an article in the New York Times from 2003 even boldly stated in its title: The Solo Beyoncé: She’s No Ashanti. Hey, the year before Bey dropped Dangerously In Love and was launched into the stratosphere as a solo artist, Ashanti was quite huge too, having released her mega-hit debut album of the same name, racking up awards, and being the first lady of the uber-popular (and now defunct) Murder Inc. But if you ask Ashanti, such comparisons then and now are tired. She says that she and Beyoncé always got along well and while they both worked hard and had a lot of buzz at the same time, their music was totally different (even though the New York Times described Ashanti at the time as Beyoncé’s “mirror-image rival”). This is what the singer had to say:
“I remember that [article]. I feel like ‘the critics’ and ‘the media,’ people always put us against each other, but we never had beef. It was always all love. ‘Hey!’ ‘What’s up!’ ‘I like your shoes!’ It was that kind of thing. I think we’re two very different artists. I think we bring our different music to the table and I think there’s room. Again, I didn’t like the fact that people always put us together, but it’s a competitive business. There’s only one number one spot. Both working very, very hard. I was extremely happy just being with Murder, Inc. We had an amazing wave and I loved the music we were doing and it just felt right.”
The “I Got It” star recently talked to No Judgement Zone‘s BlogXilla about her latest project, as well as the single “I’m Real,” released by Jennifer Lopez back in 2001.
“It was bitter sweet, because I was really excited because it was J. Lo, you know what I mean? But I was so mad at Irv, cause I was like ‘You know I wanted that record!’”
Turns out Ashanti was the voice behind the track this entire time. Apparently she had demo’ed the record for Miss. Lopez, & they (Murder Inc) ultimately used her voice for the hook, backgrounds & adlibs.
The Spider-Man movies don’t skimp on the stuff that puts the “super” into superhero movies. There’s web-slinging shenanigans and wild bad guys galore, but The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb calls the relationship between Spidey and girlfriend Gwen Stacy “the engine of the movie.”
The chemistry the real-life couple brings to the screen is undeniable, but it almost didn’t get a chance to blossom. Before Emma Stone landed the role of the brainiac love interest, Mia Wasikowska, Imogen Poots, Emma Roberts and even Lindsay Lohan (snort) were considered.
Stone won some of the best reviews of her career playing Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man — Peter Travers said she “just jumps to life on screen” — in a role that gave her the biggest hit of her career to date.
Smaller roles in Superbad and Zombieland hinted at her ability to be funny and hold the screen, but in 2010’s Easy A she turned a corner into full-on Lucille Ball mode, mixing pratfalls with wit while pulling faces and cracking jokes. Smart and funny, she’s the film’s centerpiece.
LOL at anyone quoting the hack Peter Travers for pieces like this.
