The Mindy Project Spring Premiere(s) Recap + Description for 2x18/19

Though it’s been months since Drs. Lahiri and Castellano had one heck of a smooch in an airplane galley, absolutely no time has passed on The Mindy Project — and so back to the grab-ass friendly skies we go in Tuesday’s double episode midseason premiere.

But, particularly in light of this disappointing season of New Girl, can the Fox comedy withstand its antagonistic lead characters hooking up? We’re sure you have thoughts regarding the hour’s ‘shiptastic goings-on and what it means for the future of the series; we’ll get to them in less time than it takes Mindy’s tush to set a church ablaze. First, though, a quick recap of what happened during the episodes.

Inspirational Makeup Ads Reveal Rather Than Conceal the Women's True Selves

IDEA: Makeup ads have a hard time being authentically inspiring, complicated as they are by issues of vanity and manufactured beauty.

But Dermablend Professional is different. The brand's corrective cosmetics are used by people with mild to severe skin conditions, and so its advertising can be unconflicted—even empowering. This isn't about vanity; it's about freeing oneself from ridicule and living a normal life.

FORBES: Six Additional Dates Show Demand Is Strong For Lady Gaga Tickets and ARTPOP Tour

Lady Gaga has always pushed the boundaries of performance as art for some. Over the years, however, her exceptional commercial success, including 24 million albums sold, has muted most criticism. After lackluster sales for latest album ‘Artpop’, the media is questioning whether her act is getting old and her legions of fans, know as little monsters are getting scared away. The apex of that criticism may have come after her ‘vomit as art’ performance at South by Southwest when she let performance artist Mille Brown vomit paint on her during a performance. Amidst all the negative chatter, rumors have also been swirling that Lady Gaga tickets for her upcoming ARTPOP tour were suffering. The recent announcement of six additional shows are clear evidence that the tour is in good shape, and the despite an album that didn’t deliver as hoped, little monsters across the country want more.
While ARTPOP did reach number one for album sales, it did so with just a quarter of the copies that her previous album sold. Those poorer-than-expected sales contributed to a 9.3% decline in revenue for her record company’s fourth-quarter earnings report. Amidst poor record sales, many in the media have also speculated that the tour was dragging down tour promoter Live Nation. This was in part stoked by rumors that her appearance at Summerfest in Milwaukee might be cancelled due to poor sales. In response, Live Nation reported that sales of Gaga concert tickets for North America and Europe are at 80% capacity sold, which is a strong number for a tour that is still two months from kicking off. According to Athur Fogel, Chairman of Live Nation’s Global Touring division, the 29 shows that are on sale in North America have grossed $26 million in ticket sales so far, which averages to just under $1 million per show. With the additional six shows, gross revenue for the tour is now well north of $30 million.

Regina Spektor and Jack Dishel had a baby!

 photo ScreenShot2014-04-02at031853.png

Regina Spektor is officially a mom.

The New York-based singer-songwriter announced today (April 1) on her Facebook that she's had her first child, a son, with fellow singer-songwriter Jack Dishel.

"I wanted to let you know that Jack and I have been happily hanging out with our new little son and that all is going great!" she noted in the post, also revealing that the couple is "pretty private" so very few updates or pictures on the baby's status will be tendered anytime soon.

It's unknown when the baby was born, as well as his name.

Spektor's pregnancy was originally noted when she was unable to fly to the GRAMMYs in January despite being nominated for "You've Got Time," the theme song for Netflix original series "Orange is the New Black." Spektor was deemed too pregnant to fly, Jewcy reports.

Her last album, "What We Saw from the Cheap Seats," was released in 2012, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. She wed Dishel in 2011.

Charlie Hunnam Bids Farewell to Biker Look

Sons of Anarchy lead star Charlie Hunnam is sporting a new look for his upcoming movie "Crimson Peak." The actor got rid of his signature full beard look while filming with director Guillermo Del Toro in Toronto.

The handsome Brit was spotted over the weekend with his clean-shaven look while doing some grocery shopping. The actor is wearing a casual attire and looked so relaxed with his gray hoodie, jeans and Nike sneakers. Even without his signature scruff, the former Christian Grey wannabe is looking so slick and handsome as he kept his blonde [hair] swept back.

Written and directed by Guillermo Del Toro, "Crimson Peak" follows a story of a young author who discovers that her charming husband is not what he appears to be. Mia Wasikowska will play the young author Edith Cushing and "Thor" star Tom Hiddleston will play her intriguing husband Sir Thomas Sharpe.

Yeah, it's a badly-written article, but at least we finally have names for the Crimson Peak characters besides Mia's. October '15 can't come soon enough.

Ayoade Adoration Association™ Post

A cacophony of laughter echoes around the downstairs bar of a flash Glasgow hotel. It’s early evening, but it seems a girls’ night is in full swing as a dreamy mixologist fashions cocktail shots for a party of ten who are falling about at the drinks’ saucy titles and the barman’s saucier banter. Watching on incredulously is filmmaker and comedian Richard Ayoade ♥. If this were an episode of The IT Crowd and Ayoade was in character as the sitcom’s most potent comedic weapon, Moss, a geeky IT consultant with chronic asthma and a hot ear, one can imagine the hilarity that would ensue. Perhaps he’d bound over there and join the women on their hen night, or push the wannabe Tom Cruise to one side to take over the cocktail making – Moss can, after all, detect the ingredients for any drink using his sense of smell alone. If only Ayoade was as suave and confident as his onscreen alter ego.
Existential Nightmare: Richard Ayoade on The Double

Having impressed greatly with his debut feature film Submarine, renowned comic actor Richard Ayoade has returned to the director’s chair, for his sophomore feature The Double. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg in both of the leading two roles, and we had the pleasure of sitting down with the talented duo to discuss their unique and unforgettable collaboration.

We discuss the creative process of the piece, and how Ayoade went about establishing what is a striking and distinctive visual aesthetic. Meanwhile, Eisenberg discusses playing two roles, and portraying the subtle differences between the two.

Is Amy Winehouse touring the world as a hologram?

Alki David, CEO of FilmOn, stirred controversy when he announced his intention to resurrect the late Rehab star in the form of a hologram that would perform her hits with an orchestra at shows around the globe.

After the singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, called the proposal "utter rubbish," David backed down and scrapped the idea.

He told TV Mix, "Our London office was in negotiations with the managers of Amy's music and image to bring something the world craved — closeness with the beloved artist and her voice. But I have no desire to cause her family any duress, and have withdrawn all offers to the family to make this happen."

David is considering launching hologram tours with the likenesses of other stars, including Flo Rida, who is very much alive.

Brad Pitt's Plan B will bring 'Anonymous vs. Steubenville' to the big screen

Hacktivism is on course to get the Hollywood treatment, and from a team fresh off a stunning sociopolitical success. Producers Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner, whose Plan B Entertainment gave us recent Best Picture-winner 12 Years a Slave, will next tackle the true story of teen rape and digital exposure that unfolded in Steubenville, Ohio.

Plan B secured the rights to "Anonymous vs. Steubenville", a Rolling Stone article by David Kushner that follows the fight and plight of Deric Lostutter, an online vigilante with the hacker collective Anonymous. Lostutter was instrumental in exposing a town-wide coverup of a 16-year-old’s rape by two high school football players, but in the end, he would face up to 10 years in prison for his actions, while the rapists were sentenced to just one.

RuPaul's Drag Race: Expired Milk

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I prayed to Oprah that it was just an April Fool's joke on behalf of Logo. But upon waking up on Tuesday, the disappointing reality had set in: Milk, who was easily the U in Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent this season, has sashayed away from RuPaul's Drag Race Season Six. What does Milk have to say about her time on the show, her haters and her equally-gorgeous boyfriend? We chatted with Big and Milky hours after her elimination episode aired to find out (and found out she's a big-hearted sweetheart under the Pinocchio nose and baby bump in the process).

Jonathan Higbee: Happy April Fools! I loved your Twitter and Facebook comments last night.

Milk: Why not, right? It fell so perfectly, so I had to take full advantage of it!

What have you been up to since taping the show?

I have been dragging my life up! Lots of travel. Since being on the show, I’ve learned a lot more about my face, about makeup, about paint, so I’ve been experimenting and growing my aesthetic. I think it really has grown a lot since nine months ago.

I love the pictures of you from Iowa last week.

Iowa was really fun! I flew into Cedar Rapids and was just immediately surrounded by fields. Then we drove to Iowa City, which is a big college town full of young, corn-fed boys, so it was fun!

'Walking Dead': Revisiting the Final Scene

As someone who hasn't read the Walking Dead comic books -- just as I haven’t read George R.R. Martin’s books that form the basis for Game of Thrones -- I take in all the information simply as it’s doled out, without being privy to older nonshow references or working with the knowledge of what’s ahead.

But I didn’t want the finale and the group’s trek to Terminus and what that foreshadowed to slip away (the onslaught of Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Fargo and others is near) before revisiting it. When first introduced to Terminus -- at the end of a journey the season was leading viewers along -- I got the distinct feeling (as others did, or at least should have), that Terminus is no sanctuary. Rather, hints abounded that a modern-day Soylent Green story was unfolding.

Director Peter Jackson's $80 Million Jet Joins Search for Malaysia Airlines Plane

Sir Peter Jackson's private jet is being used to find Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

Jackson, who was born and resides in New Zealand, is best known for directing movies such as the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

But his $80 million Gulfstream G650 flies faster and can travel farther than any plane flown by the Royal New Zealand Air Force. It has a top speed of 708 miles per hour and can cover a distance of 8,053 miles before it has to refuel, according to The Dominion Post. This allows Jackson to travel nonstop from his home in Welllington, New Zealand to Los Angeles, California, where much of his filmmaking work takes place.

And so Jackson has reportedly allowed his jet, which he purchased in March 2013, to join the search for the missing plane, helping to relay communications for other aircraft that are a part of the search.

The plane is part of an international effort to find the Boeing 777 that went missing on March 8. Authorities believe the plane's journey ended somewhere in the southern Indian Ocean, and have focused their search around an area 1,150 miles off the coast of Perth, Australia.

There were 239 people on board the fateful flight, and their loved ones are still holding out hope for an answer.

Sir Jackson, the filmmaker's spokesman says, would prefer the attention remains on them — and not his fancy jet.

"Peter would not seek publicity for something like this and would actively avoid it in fact," spokesman Matt Dravitzki told The New Zealand Herald. "A lot of civilian and military aircraft are involved in the search and it's kind of disappointing that because one is owned by a celebrity it becomes a matter of news when there are [over] 200 people missing."

Logan Lerman: "Percy Jackson 3 could still happen"

Logan Lerman has said Percy Jackson 3 could still go ahead, dismissing reports that the film has been scrapped.

The actor said he had signed a contract to star in three films, and would appear again if a third instalment of the franchise was given the green light.

“If we want to make a third one I have to do it, I’m contractually obligated to three movies. I love those movies, they’re a lot of fun to make,” he said.

Rubbishing claims reported last week that he said the film "wasn't happening", he said: "That was taken out of context when I said that.

"I said I don’t know, I’ve never heard anything and it’s been a while since the second one was released, so I just haven’t heard anything about a third film. Unless they call me I think it's unlikely."

Speaking ahead of the release of Noah , in which he stars as Noah’s son Ham, Lerman said: “I would be surprised at this point [if they did call me] because usually you want to make them pretty quickly.”

The 22-year-old said he enjoyed filming the movies and would return to play teenage hero Percy Jackson even if he was 30, adding: "If I was 30, sure I'd play Percy again".

Catfishing in the Content Farm: Angela Cheng’s War on Lady Gaga Drags Stan Culture Into Spotlight

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Late last year, as Lady Gaga was seemingly everywhere except at the top of the Hot 100 chart, a claim surfaced that she had lost her label, Interscope Records, $25 million on ARTPOP and that they would be forced to make layoffs. Sure, the album underperformed in comparison to Gaga’s previous work, but it still enjoyed sales figures that most artists would be delighted with — it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and has to date sold some 679,000 copies stateside, on top of millions more around the world. So how could it have lost so much money? The unsubstantiated report came from music industry “insider” Angela Cheng, and appeared on Examiner.com, a content farm that has done what all content farms hope to do: trick corners of the Internet into believing it’s a credible website.

Twisted: Cancelled or Renewed for Season Two?

Last year, ABC Family introduced three new dramas — Twisted, Ravenswood, and The Fosters. Ravenswood (a Pretty Little Liars spin-off) has been cancelled while The Fosters has been renewed. What will become of Twisted?

Airing on Tuesday nights, Twisted is a mystery/thriller series that revolves around 17 year old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia). Six years ago, he was charged with killing his aunt and he ended up spending five years in juvenile detention. Now, he’s been released and has returned to his small hometown in New York. As he tries to resume his life, a classmate is killed and Danny becomes a key suspect. The cast also includes Madelaine Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio, Kimberly Quinn, Denise Richards, and Sam Robards.

The pilot episode aired as a special preview in March 2013 and drew 1.19 million viewers. It wasn’t a great start but the ratings picked up when the regular season started in June. They quickly fell again but ABC Family ordered 10 additional episodes of Twisted anyway. That decision may have been influenced by the fact that they had recently cancelled Bunheads and The Lying Game.

When the second half of the season kicked off in February and viewership nearly hit a new low, despite the fact that it had popular Pretty Little Liars as a lead-in. Last week, when Twisted no longer had that strong lead-in, viewership hit an all-time low with just 726,000 viewers.

The second half of the season averaged 1.11 million viewers. Ravenswood was cancelled with higher viewership. Based on these numbers, it’s looking unlikely that ABC Family will order a second season of Twisted.

But, what do you think? Are you a fan? Should Twisted be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

"I Really Just Love Belting:" The Voice's Cassadee Pope and her Writing Team on Her New Single

Around the three-minute mark of Cassadee Pope's first country single, "Wasting All These Tears," she hit an impressive (well, that's one way to put it) high note and drug it out for a solid nine seconds as a hypnotic instrumental figure repeated underneath, heightening the drama in a song about a woman recovering from a breakup. The performance clearly connected: Pope ascended to No. 5 on Hot Country Songs and No. 10 on Country Airplay, becoming the first country female whose debut single was certified platinum by the RIAA since Taylor Swift in 2006.

On her sophomore single — "I Wish I Could Break Your Heart," released to radio via Play MPE on March 3 — Pope similarly hits a big note just after the two-minute mark, potentially setting up a signature sound
("tone deaf goat") for the former champion of NBC's "The Voice."

"I really just love belting," says Pope. "I look up to artists like Martina McBride and Kelly Clarkson. They leave it all out there on their recordings and onstage. I don't know if it's a signature thing, but I really like to do it a lot."

The note is a particularly telling moment in Pope's development as an artist, because her big-voiced performance was not necessarily part of the road map in the demo she originally heard.
Singer-songwriter Jon Green provided the voice on the demo, delivering "Break Your Heart" with more of a masculine Keith Urban/Chris Martin graininess.

Who Is This Nightmare Celebrity Who Treats Her Assistants Like Shit?

Today over at The Cut, they're featuring the first-hand account of a Hollywood personal assistant who has a lot of particularly damning things to say about a former celebrity boss. It's all pretty juicy except — UN PROBLEMO — the entire thing is anonymous and you never get to find out what famous person she's talking about.

And another incident where she called the assistant during her time off because she needed someone to drive her to an emergency psychic appointment:

Once I got called in as an emergency because she said, "I need to see my therapist." So I had to leave my family and drive over and pick her up, because she was like, "After therapy, I can't drive." That's fine, I get it: So she's in with the therapist, and I'm sitting there in the car, reading, and I remember seeing the therapist's name — but she wasn't a therapist. Oh no. She was a palm reader. She was a palm reader that we got a discount for in the gift bag at an awards show. She was a psychic.

AND then there was the occasion when she had her assistant unwittingly smuggle drugs for her on an airplane:

I started to check all the details on the things I had to do for her. Like when I had to go to pick up her quote-unquote "herbs" — I didn't realize until then: Oh crap, I'm a drug runner. She said "herbs" because she was being holistic, and I was naïve and thought it was something herbal to help her calm down. Once when we went to a film festival, I flew out early so I could lay out the clothes she would wear. When she got in, she was like, "Did you get my stuff?" What stuff? "Oh, I put some stuff in your bag." Oh my God, I went on a fucking plane carrying drugs for you? I could have gotten arrested! You could have at least told me so I knew what I was doing, and put it in the bag that's not checked! What are you doing to me?

So who could the mystery celebrity be? From the original post, we know she has a child, has had high profile relationships (at least one with a co-star), smokes a lot of weed and is known for being difficult by those in the industry.

My guesses:

Joanna Gleason
The ghost of the Black Dahlia
Sally Field
That girl who plays Prim in The Hunger Games
I'm pretty sure at least one of those is right, but still, feel free to speculate.

The Boondocks Season 4 Trailer

All the excitement for the belated return of The Boondocks for a fourth season was tempered when it was revealed that creator Aaron McGruder would not be involved. However, this new official trailer shows that all hope is not lost for the beloved cartoon series. The trailer includes the usual cast of characters, as well as the return of Stinkmeaner, as Riley and Huey have to deal with Granddad falling behind on their mortgage payments. The result is a homage to Breaking Bad, nods to 12 Years A Slave and more f*ckery from Uncle Ruckus. That also sounds like a new tune, and voiceover, from Atlanta rapper Killer Mike.

Jennette McCurdy Feud with Nickelodeon Is All About Money

Jennette McCurdy's beef with Nickelodeon is strictly about the almighty dollar ... and how she makes less than her "Sam & Cat" co-star Ariana Grande ... TMZ has learned.

McCurdy was a no-show at the Kids' Choice Awards over the weekend, and took to Twitter to air her grievances, writing, "I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing."

McCurdy was quick to explain she was talking about Nickelodeon and NOT her racy photo scandal.

Our sources say the source of McCurdy's dissatisfaction is rooted in her paycheck. We're told the pint-sized star is pissed that Grande makes WAY MORE money than her and she's been trying to renegotiate her deal ... so far to no avail.

The show is one of the most popular on the network, but production has been halted and so far a second season has yet to be ordered.

We're told McCurdy doesn't have a problem with Grande personally ... just with Nickelodeon. For their part, a rep for the network says, "We have nothing but the utmost respect for Jennette and her talent."

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Emily Blunt is in talks to star in the thriller “Sicario,” which will be “Prisoners” helmer Denis Villeneuve’s next pic.

Basil Iwanyk will produce along with Thad and Trent Luckinbill and Molly Smith through their Black Label Media banner as well as Edward McDonnell.

Story follows an officer from Tucson, Arizona who travels across the border to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord.

Taylor Sheridan penned the script.

Villeneuve will film later this summer, and then follow that up with the sci-fi pic “Story of Your Life,” which has Amy Adams in early talks to star. That will shoot in early 2015.

Blunt has two tentpole pics set to bow this year with Warner Bros: “The Edge of Tomorrow,” also starring Tom Cruise, bowing on June 6, and Disney’s “Into the Woods,” premiering on Christmas Day.

She is repped by CAA.

Breaking: Fort Hood Shooting: 4 Dead 10+ injured. Shooter Dead.

Fort Hood, the site of the deadliest attack on a U.S. domestic military base, has reported an active shooter to local authorities.

The CBS affiliate in Waco, KWTX, reported at least one person was dead.

Bell County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Donnie Adams says the sheriff’s office dispatched deputies and troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety to the nearby Texas Army base.

Fort Hood ordered everyone at the base to “shelter in place.” The order was sent Wednesday on the base’s Twitter feed and posted on its Facebook page.

The military base was the site of a massacre in 2009 when 13 people were killed by U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hassan. He was convicted in 2013 and sentenced to death.

Meet the Catfish Couple Who Actually Made It

Call it love, digitally.

Despite the online relationships featured on the MTV hit show Catfish that all ended with an #epicfail, one couple managed to beat the odds and are still going strong.

Lauren Meler, 23, and Derek Shullenbarger, 25, who got engaged at the end of last season, are happily planning their wedding – and sharing photos from their recent engagement photo shoot with PEOPLE.

"They're so in love," says photographer Daysy Teixeira, who shot the happy couple in Frederick, Md., earlier this month. "I usually have to remind couples to kiss for the camera, but that was not a problem for them. They're so passionate."

Meler, who's from Texas, had kept up a virtual relationship with Shullenbarger via Myspace for eight years before she popped up in his Maryland hometown and finally met him face-to-face on the show.

No lies or fake profiles for this duo – surprisingly, they turned out to be exactly who they'd typed they were. Earlier this year, Meler relocated with her 3-year-old son, Mason, from a previous relationship, to be closer to her fiancé.

"They wanted to take a few pictures at the restaurant where they had their first date on the show," says Teixeira, "Derek was so excited."

The couple have yet to set a wedding date, but they're planning to wed halfway between their home states some time next year.

Justin Vivian Bond Covers Bambi Lake's "Golden Age Of Hustlers"

Cabaret chanteuse and queer icon Justin Vivian Bond has a new video out today, which we're excited to be premiering on Papermag, featuring the artist performing the song "Golden Age of Hustlers," written by legendary punk transsexual singer Bambi Lake. The song -- and visuals -- revolve around the '70s-era, pre-AIDS epidemic hustling scene in San Francisco's Polk St. thoroughfare. The clip shows Bond singing onstage alongside key players in the NYC LGBTQ scene (including drag queen and Beautiful Person Merrie Cherry and transgender writer Kate Bornstein) while archival footage from the era (including shots of Lake) play in the background. And we'd be remiss not to give a s/o to the amazing costumes and headwear going on (we particularly love the feather-y turban worn by one performer).

Bambi Lake, for those not in the know, remains a controversial San Francisco legend. A Bay Area native, she was once part of the Cockettes and Angels of Light in the 1970s. Now she's viewed as the type of human being that the city's new breed of tech-babies would gleefully and publicly ridicule. She is part of a San Francisco that's eroding/eroded. A canary in the coal mine for, as video director Silas Howard puts it, "certain creative rebels."

Humanitarian, Vocalist & Feminist Jennifer López talks Wedding Planner Co-Star Matthew McConaughey!

Matthew McConaughey is into serious indie roles now, but no one—including Jennifer Lopez—wants to forget about his rom-com days!

In 2001, the Oscar winner starred opposite J.Lo in The Wedding Planner, where in a series of meet-cutes, cheesy lines and swoon-worthy gestures, he sweeps her off her feet. Nearly thirteen years later, Jennifer is still impressed by her one-time leading man, telling Para Todas magazine, "It was great working with Matthew."

"[I'm] So proud of what he's accomplished over the last few years," adds the 44-year-old star, "and I have fond memories of him on set."

The American Idol judge, who was named Para Todas' Entertainer of the Year, is appreciative of another rom-com she worked on as well: 2002's Maid in Manhattan. Her greatest memory from the film? "Being able to return to the Bronx," she says, "and shoot a movie in the neighborhood where I grew up."

But it was Jennifer's 1997 starring role in Selena portraying the late Latin artist that "was life-changing for me," she says. "I got to immerse myself in her life, got to know her family, her home, her culture…every part of her story. It was a special time in my life both professionally and personally.

"Playing her not only opened doors for me in the film world, but it inspired me to start my own music career," she tells the mag. "In a lot of ways, I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't had that experience."

Black Twitter Drags Marie Claire For Saying Kendall Jenner Takes ‘Braids To A New Epic Level’

First Miley Cyrus invented twerking, now this.

Earlier today Marie Claire got a taste of what it feels like to be on Black Twitter’s bad side after they shared a photo via the magazine’s Twitter account of Kim Kardashian’s younger sister, Kendall Jenner, rocking a set of cornrows. While there was nothing particularly wrong with the photo of the 18-year-old reality star, the caption that MC tacked onto it automatically sent Black Twitter into defense mode.

And of course, as you’ve probably guessed, all hell broke loose from there. Tweeters quickly responded to the comment, noting that it’s nearly impossible for Kendall (or anyone else for that matter) to take cornrows to a “new epic level” since braids have been a thing for what seems like forever.

The best sitcom about religion you aren't watching is BACK

Rev is back. Another six episodes of Tom Hollander as inner-city vicar Adam Smallbone struggling to make sense of God and the world. And, as usual, the urban clergy of the Church of England (along with a few million others) will be glued to their TV sets.

The clergy loves it because it describes our life to a T. Forget The Vicar of Dibley. Forget Father Ted. Forget even the baby-eating Bishop of Bath and Wells from Blackadder. In the league table of TV clerics, Adam Smallbone is the bomb. It’s “really rather good,” says former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams. It shows “some- thing of the continuing commitment of the church to run-down and challenging areas. It also shows us someone who prays honestly.”

My own parish near Elephant and Castle in south London feels like a carbon copy of Adam’s fictional parish, St Saviour in the Marshes, set somewhere in Hackney in east London. His 1950s vicarage looks the same as mine. I know the situations. If Dibley is a caricature of the truth, Rev is the truth in the form of a caricature.

Yet when I meet Rev’s co-creator and star Tom Hollander and co-star Olivia Colman in a Covent Garden club, he tells me something I’d prefer not to know.

Where Does Brian’s ‘Ex-Plosion’ Rank Among ‘Real World’ Finale Meltdowns?

Moving out of the “Real World” house has incited cry-fests, ceasefires and, of course, blowout bashes over the years, but every few seasons, a housemate completely loses his or her sh**, and tonight, Brian let his inner-beast out. After the cast’s final outing, Jenny‘s ex returned to the “Ex-Plosion” compound and began arbitrarily kicking water jugs, shaking bed frames and even tackled poor Arielle, who was just trying to calm the drunken brute down. And though Brian definitely left his mark, he wasn’t the first cast member to ever lose his cool at the last minute.

When the dust cleared in San Francisco, we were reminded of some other finale crackups that rocked the long-running series. Take a look at a few, and tell us where Brian’s ranks in comparison!

Anybody watch the finale tonight?
