The "Bailey Bowl," an adult version of a field day organized by Cynthia Bailey in order for the ladies to have a little innocent fun, turned into the Bailey Brawl on Sunday's The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
"Let the games begin!" Bailey, 46, announced at the beginning of a fitness day filled with nostalgic events like egg-and-spoon and three-legged races. But it didn't take long for the adults to act like children.
Marlo Hampton, former BFF and bridesmaid to NeNe Leakes and now BFF of Leakes's frenemy Kenya Moore, began to boil in the Hotlanta heat competing against Leakes's Team Rich.
"I'm gonna beat your butts," Hampton initially taunted Team Rich as a member of Team Twirl, Moore's team. "I'm mad … I don't know how not to say what's on my mind … I wasn't invited to the original family team."

Justin Bieber and Miami Beach prosecutors will NOT strike a plea deal in his DUI case ... and sources connected with the case say a trial is now almost certain.
TMZ broke the story ... prosecutors are offering a no contest plea to reckless driving, with strings attached ... notably Justin must submit to random drug testing for 6 to 9 months. Sources connected with Bieber say they will NOT accept any plea that has probationary terms ... especially drug testing.
Now law enforcement sources tell us ... they will not deal if Justin does not agree to random drug testing ... period. As a result, both sides are at an impasse.
With a plea deal all but off the table, a trial is likely. Law enforcement sources acknowledge there are problems with the arresting officers ... the fact that he may have lied when he said he smelled alcohol on Justin's breath (he blew a .014). And another cop claimed Justin was drag racing (at 27 MPH).
Nonetheless ... we're told prosecutors are not afraid of trying the case. And Justin's famed lawyer, Roy Black, is ready for a courtroom battle.
At stake -- Justin could be tried for 3 offenses ... DUI, resisting arrest, and driving on an expired license. Worst case scenario -- 2 1/2 years in jail.
As Broadway-bound Rachel Berry, Lea Michele was the brassy soprano on Glee's two highest-charting songs. But her attempt at breaking out as a solo artist has been rocky – lead single "Cannonball" sank like one – and this album of insta-dated EDM-pop anthems and half-cocked bass drops probably won't help her cause.
The songs about love's ups and downs have a few memorable lyrics ("My heart's too drunk to drive"), but not nearly enough, and Michele's show-tune-style belting is a little too perfect for today's pop charts.
Still, the album will make a decent audition tape for Julie Taymor's inevitable production of Teenage Dream: The Katy Perry Musical in a few more years.
Brittany Snow has just signed on to star in the highly anticipated sequel Pitch Perfect 2, according to Deadline!
The 27-year-old actress will reprise her role as Chloe in the Elizabeth Banks directed film.

“I’m really excited to direct the girls. The whole project speaks so much to me and to women and to making women funny in really fun and interesting ways and that’s what I’m most looking forward to. I’m looking forward to letting the girls let loose. All I can say right now is that they will be graduating seniors this time around, rather than incoming freshmen,” Elizabeth recently shared to Huffington Post.
A bill that could ban gays from playing in the NFL is possibly unconstitutional, being pushed for entirely cynical political reasons and is not based on any empirical evidence . . . and that’s according to the lobbyist promoting the bill.
Jack Burkman is a Washington lobbyist who announced via his PR firm on Monday that he would “block gays from the NFL.” The announcement comes in the aftermath of NFL draft prospect Michael Sam coming out as gay earlier in February and Jason Collins making his debut for the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday as the first openly gay player in a major professional sport.
( Collapse )
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Burkman backtracked from his press release and said that his bill would mandate that the NFL have separate showers and changing facilities for gay players or otherwise not allow them to play at all. He said, “The NFL will have to decide to have entirely separate facilities for homosexuals or ban them by federal law.” The bill would only focus on the NFL because “that’s the big enchilada in American sports.”
Pop Kylie. Indie Kylie. Sex Kylie. Goddess Kylie. Over the decades, the musical force that is Kylie Minogue has offered us one variation or another of her on-stage image while still maintaining enough of a “girl next door” likeability that we truly wish she would just move in down the block already. Listening to her upcoming 12th album Kiss Me Once (out March 18), however, conjures up a new persona for the Australian pop queen: Comforting Kylie.
Making the album wasn’t an easy road for the singer, by her own admission. And once countless tracks were done after a year of working with a multitude of collaborators, there came the arduous task of whittling them all down to one cohesive, Kylie-worthy set. Knowledge of that melts away, though, when listening to the record, as what ultimately shines through on Kiss Me Once is the radiant positivity, particularly with the optimistic lyrics that fill songs like lead single “Into The Blue,” the uplifting Ariel Rechtshaid composition “If Only” and the album’s title track, on which Minogue worked with the LP’s executive producer Sia Furler.
Kylie spent time cluing us in to what the process of piecing together her first studio album in four years was like, from switching her management over to Roc Nation to working with talents ranging from hit maker Pharrell Williams to French actor Clément Sibony. Head below for the full Idolator interview with Kylie Minogue.
Hello, Kylie! I’ve given Kiss Me Once about five full listens ahead of our little chat.
KYLIE MINOGUE: Alright. So things can’t be too bad?
Definitely not. The song that’s jumping out immediately is the title track.
KM: Aw, that’s brilliant. Yeah, I think it’s got a lot to offer, that track. It’s probably the most old school Kylie, I would say.

For those who want to watch Disney movies anywhere, now there's an app with all that right there in the name.
Launching today, Walt Disney Studios' cloud-based Disney Movies Anywhere digital movie service allows young and old to watch all their favorite Disney, Pixar and Marvel Studios movies on an Internet browser, Apple TV (through iCloud or AirPlay) or via a free app for their iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.
The debut of the new service coincides with the digital release of the Oscar-nominated animated feature Frozen and the Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray and DVD — Disney Movies Anywhere offers exclusive featurettes from both films. In addition, Disney lovers can also peruse digital titles to purchase, check out bonus features, watch previews and even earn Disney Movie Rewards points with digital buys.
Disney's entire library of 400-plus active digital movies will be available to users — those with digital copies of movies already on their iTunes can sync them with their Disney Movies Anywhere account to watch on the app, and unused codes for digital copies contained in Blu-ray and DVD releases since 2008 can be used with the new service.
"Disney Movies Anywhere is an adaptable digital ecosystem designed to help consumers consolidate their Disney movie collections and enjoy them for years to come," said Jamie Voris, chief technology officer for Walt Disney Studios.
Also for a limited time, folks who connect their Disney Movies Anywhere account with their iTunes — or simply sign up for one — will receive a free digital copy of the Oscar-winning Pixar superhero feature The Incredibles.

So did anyone else see this episode? (also fun fact: ONTD's fav Lena Dunham voiced the character Betty in this episode!)
[My thoughts and the full episode in the spoiler cut]
I just wanted to say that I totally agree with the person who wrote this article, my problem with Adventure Time episodes in general is that they are too rushed, I wish that they were at least 20-22 min. long so they can flesh out the plot more instead of the usual 11 min the same also applies with this episode as well.

Dara O’Briain thinks the BBC’s ban on all-male comedy panels should have “evolved” without making future female guests appear as the “token woman”.
The Mock the Week presenter criticised the decision, arguing that stand-up by nature has a larger share of male comics.
“I wouldn’t have announced it, is what I’d say, because it means Katherine Ryan or Holly Walsh, who’ve been on millions of times, will suddenly look like the token woman,” he told the Radio Times.
“It would have been better if it had evolved without showing your workings, if you know what I mean. Legislating for token woman isn’t much help.
“A certain number of women want to go into comedy and they should be cherished and nurtured, but you’re not going to shift the fact that loads more men want to do it.”

All in all, the footage we saw showed a confident, funny, action-packed film that, as we’ve watched in the trailers, just builds from there. It’s easy to see why the Marvel brass were happy with directing siblings Anthony and Joe Russo; this thing looks very stylish, and the character work gives Chris Evans plenty of moments to shine. The whole film will be out in the UK on March 26. The Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray itself is in stores now.

During an interview with MTV, the Aussie rapper explained the album title. “What makes something classic is when you hear it and you have that moment that is a time capsule,” she said. “When I say The New Classic, I just want to make records that give you that moment for fans that they can remember where they were when they heard it.”
Paris — Quentin Tarantino, who considerably expanded his Gallic fan base since declaring “Cinema is my religion and France is the Vatican” in October, will be delivering the honorary Cesar to Scarlett Johansson at the Feb. 28 awards ceremony in Paris.
Tarantino received the honorary Cesar in 2011. Johansson, meanwhile, will likely be the youngest recipient of this award, which has been given to such talent as Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep.
The 29-year-old star, who broke through with Sofia Coppola’s “Lost in Translation,” recently earned critical praises for her voice perf in Spike Jonze’s “Her.”
Johansson wrapped the shoot of Luc Besson’s actioner “Lucy” in December.
Last year, the Cesar nod went to Kevin Costner who was in Paris shooting Luc Besson-produced “3 Days to Kill.”
We’ve seen a new poster and heard the monster’s roar, now here’s the second full trailer from Legendary’s big reboot of Godzilla. What more is there to say?
We see the monster’s nuclear origins, and hints of his immense size and power, but this is still much more of a tease than anything else; if you hate the fact that trailers seem to give absolutely everything away you’ll be happy here. When Apollo Nida was arrested for fraud and identity theft last month, he insisted that his marriage had been unaffected by his legal issues, and that he and his wife, Phaedra Parks, would “never” split up.
But RadarOnline.com has learned that the Real Housewives of Atlanta couple have actually been living separate lives for weeks — and haven’t been photographed together since last November!
Instead of standing by her man’s side as he prepares for the next round of his trial in March, Parks has chosen to launch a book tour for her advice guide Secrets of a Southern Belle – even though it was released more than three months ago.

Justin Bieber has just found trouble in Atlanta ... one of his security guards is under arrest for stealing a photog's camera at a fun house ... TMZ has learned.
Justin went to an amusement park Tuesday afternoon, and while he was inside, law enforcement tells us a member of his security team went outside to his Escalade and told waiting paparazzi to stay cool because Justin was about to come out.
We're told the security guy got into it with one of the photogs, grabbed the guy's camera and handed it to the driver. The security guy then allegedly jumped in the car and told the driver to take off.
Cops found the Escalade at the home Justin is renting from rap mogul Dallas Austin and they searched it for the camera, which they located inside. We're told the photog followed the vehicle to Justin's house. Police then returned the camera to him.
We're told the guard is under arrest for theft and cops are deciding whether to arrest the driver.
Law enforcement sources say cops removed 2 backpacks from the Escalade, but one law enforcement source tells us they didn't find any contraband.
UPDATE 3:20 PM PT -- We're told the Escalade has just been TOWED.
Another little bundle of joy is on the way for Jenna Fischer! The former Office star, 39, is pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Lee Kirk this summer, her rep exclusively confirms to Us Weekly.
Fischer and Kirk are already parents to son Weston Lee, whom they welcomed on Sept. 24, 2011. The couple married in July 2010 in Malibu, Calif., in a ceremony officiated by Survivor host Jeff Probst.
Speaking about their little boy with Us back in 2012, screenwriter Kirk said he was "having a lot of fun" raising Weston. "He's laughing a lot," Kirk told Us. "I feel like making your son laugh is the greatest feeling in the world."
"I love being a family," Fischer added in a separate interview. "I love going from two people to three people, and it has deepened the bond between me and my husband. We love being together, the three of us. Our little unit."
Kim Kardashian is all about family, but don't expect her and Kanye West to have too, too many kids.
Actually, North Wests mama told Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM show Tuesday, "I don't think I can do more than three, tops," and that number "would be my absolute top, top, tops."
"I even contemplated, should North be an only child?" she said, but ultimately remembers "all the fun experiences I had [with siblings], so I might have to tough it out."
One person who wants more Kimye babies? Mason Disick! "He was like, 'Can you make a boy? I need a friend to play with,'" Kim said, "and I was like, 'Let me think about that!'"
But Kim won't be taking the Kris Jenner approach to having kids. "I love my daughter so much and I know…I want to have more, but I'm not going the route my mom did." she said. "She is crazy! When I was giving birth, I looked at her and said, "I'm going to buy you a medal, you deserve a medal for this, six times–you're crazy.'"
Never say never, Kim! For now, though, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is completely enamored with 8-month-old Nori. "She's the sweetest, she's the calmest and all she does is laugh," she gushed. "She'll laugh at anything. I'll put my toe right near her and she'll crack up. She's the sweetest, happiest baby I've ever seen."

Scott Mescudi, known to most of the world as rapper, singer-songwriter, producer Kid Cudi, has added yet another new role to his fledgling acting resume, joining the cast the film adaptation of the hit HBO series Entourage.
Cudi has signed up to play Ari Gold’s (Jeremy Piven's) new assistant, as his previous long-suffering assistant, moved up.
Cudi will next be seen alongside Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek and Harrison Gilbertson, in Dreamworks' adaptation of the video game Need For Speed, directed by Scott Waugh.
The story follows a man (played by Aaron Paul) who races across the country at high speeds, seeking revenge on the man who killed his best friend.
Mescudi plays the best friend - so I guess it's no spoiler at this point to say that he dies before the film is over.
It sounds like it'll be a Fast & Furious-style romp.
Kid Cudi can also be seen in the upcoming rom-com Two Night Stand, as well as an apocalyptic indie comedy titled Goodbye World, starring Adrian Grenier.
Cudi is still relatively new to acting; from 2010 to 2011, for 2 seasons, he co-starred in the HBO comedy series How to Make It in America, as part of the main cast, until its cancellation.
The above new projects mark his entry into big screen, feature film acting.

Most of you reading this article are probably desperate to get your eyes on the feature film adaptation of the cult musical The Last Five Years, to fall in and out of love with stars Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan and to hear those high-belting, heartbreaking songs again. But hang on—the film isn't set for release just yet, but producers did host a VIP screening and cocktail reception on February 24 at the Walter Reade Theatre at Lincoln Center for potential buyers and theater insiders. Naturally, Broadway.com was on hand to cheer on the finished film (no really, you're gonna die!) and to talk the pitch-perfect stars, songwriter/musical theater god Jason Robert Brown and acclaimed writer/director Richard LaGravenese about their favorite things about your next favorite movie.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT JEREMY
Anna Kendrick: “Oh man, he’s such a sweetheart. He’s such a nice guy, like such a sweet Texas boy but then there are little moments when he has a wicked sense of humor that you don’t see coming so my favorite thing is when he kind of busts out something, like a dirty joke or something. That’s nice.”
FAVORITE THING ABOUT ANNA
Jeremy Jordan: “The fact that she’s never too serious. That’s probably her favorite thing about her, too! She’s always very cautious not to let things get too heavy and that’s a great sort of energy to deflate whatever tension might be hanging around. And she’s always good for a laugh so I love that about her, too.”

Screams incoherently. I hope this does for her what Scandal did for Kerry. All hail queen Shonda!
Marc Anthony may be 110 pounds wet ... but in the money department he's a world champ, because he's just acknowledged he rakes in $1.25 million every single month.
Anthony filed legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- in his nasty child support fight with ex-wife Dayanara Torres. The former Miss Universe wants her monthly support for their 2 sons upped from $13K a month to $113K a month.
Marc had to disclose his income, and his portfolio is impressive. He says he's worth $20.8 million ... of which $260K is in cash. And none of that is in stocks or bonds.
He says he's paying $18K a month in child support in other relationships ... we're guessing that's for the twins he had with Jennifer Lopez.
Dayanara has bitched in legal docs that she was forced to sell her home and live in a crappy, 1,200 square foot San Fernando Valley apartment while Jennifer Lopez was living high on the hog.
Marc Anthony responded in his own legal docs ... Dayanara is a piss poor money manager because she can afford way better than a hovel since he gives her $28,4216 a month in spousal and child support.
She was especially ticked that Marc pleaded poverty during their divorce but the week it became final he bought JLo a $4 million ring.

The video was shot last week inside Mall's Vegas compound -- his living room, specifically -- where his pet cheetah was having some kind of meltdown ... probably because it's a wild animal inside a house ... and Mall sprang into action.
You have to see how it all unfolds -- somehow, Mall calms the cat down ... but not without a couple scratches.
You'll recall ... Mall's the same guy who gave Justin Bieber that monkey a while ago. Pretty wild.
I'd be shitting myself... but poor cat, hope it claws his eyeballs out tbh

The fates are pretty much sealed for two cast members on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" -- we're told producers are gunning to replace them next season ... because they're just not exciting enough.
Sources tell TMZ, there's a 95% chance Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia won't be back for Season 5 -- they're just not involved enough in the series' story lines to justify their coveted spots in the cast.
We're told it became obvious Joyce and Carlton weren't jiving during the reunion show taping earlier this month -- all the other women had great chemistry ... and Joyce and Carlton were clearly outsiders.
But the feeling's not mutual -- at least for Carlton, who tells us, she'd love to return for Season 5 if she gets asked back.
Sources tell us, producers are already on the hunt for replacements ... you listening, Joanna?
A rep for Bravo had no comment.
She's been receiving rave reviews on her Las Vegas residency.
But it seems the punishing schedule may be taking something of a toll on Britney Spears.
The singer's skintone looked uneven and blotchy as she headed out for lunch in Westwood Lake on Monday.
Appearing tired, she layered on the mascara as she grabbed a small salad for lunch.
But although she sported a shimmery eye shadow with the black liner and dramatic mascara, it did little to improve her appearance.

According to the City of Houston, this type of acknowledgment is reserved for outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to society and contributions to the City and citizens of Houston. Today's proclamation will be presented by City Council member Jerry Davis of District B, an area which includes portions of Houston's Northside that have benefited from Thomas' philanthropy, and also where the rapper was raised.
So today is offically #ThuggaDay.
Slim vows, "Since '98 I've been straight, started shinin' out the gate reppin' that Nawf on tape" in the intro to his latest album, Boss Life, and has definitely been rapping about money, cars and women for a long time. The Boss Hogg Outlaw even has a very large tattoo reading "HOUSTON" on his back, always representing his city to the fullest.
Earlier this year, CNN anchor Don Lemon examined the word "thug," and asked on-air if the word itself was racist, and ended the segment with the following quote: "If you don't wanna be treated like a thug, or considered one, then don't act like one."

Josh Boone is in early talks to direct The Stand, the adaptation of Stephen King’s epic novel being made by Warner Bros. and CBS Films.
Jimmy Miller and Roy Lee are producing the project.
Boone isn’t a name yet but may have awareness in a surprising demo: teens. The writer-director is in post on The Fault In Our Stars, Fox 2000's adaptation of the mega-popular YA novel by John Green. The movie will be released June 6.
Boone already has a King connection dating back to when he was 12 and King's books were banned in his household. The writer-director has previously recounted how he was forced to rip covers off of Christian books and tape them to King books just so he could slyly read them. The Stand however, faced a cruel fate: his mom found it under his bed and subsequently burnt it in the fireplace.
Boone, still 12, wrote a moving letter to the author to which he responded by sending the boy a box filled with books, with a letter written in the front covers of the tomes. The act impressed his parents, who then lifted the ban.
It started a lifelong relationship with King, who even played himself in Boone's feature debut, 2012's Stuck in Love, and recently gave Boone permission to adapt Lisey's Story.
Frank Iero has a new band - sort of:
Frank Iero - “B.F.F.” video premiere
Frank Iero solidifies the "Best Dad EVER" title he claims in his Twitter bio in his latest musical collaboration—with his children. Not only did he enlist his twin daughters Lily and Cherry as primary songwriter and backup vocalists for it, but the proceeds from all sales of "B.F.F." go toward their, and their brother Miles', college funds. "So no piracy please," Iero said in his original announcement of the song. "You will literally be stealing from a baby."

Utilizing the character alignment system introduced by Dungeons & Dragons and expanded into the geek world at large, here are nine different superhero (and supervillain) character types, with examples from recent film incarnations. Which are your favorite? Which are you sick of? Read on and decide below.
1. LAWFUL GOOD
The bright shining stereotype of the "superhero." Honest, earnest, forthright and noble, they fight because of a higher calling, often for abstract ideals like truth and justice. They're less concerned about their own personal lives than they are about humanity at large and upholding the values that they view as absolute and unwavering Right.
Lawful Good heroes tend to be leaders and usually, but not always, work in tandem with law enforcement or the government (but will crusade against them if they are corrupt) and are indeed viewed by the world that they live in as heroes and beloved paragons. They are fawned over, get medals and keys to the city, and are considered legends in-universe. If they were to die, the whole world, if not the whole multiverse, would mourn publicly for years. They usually have the dumbest costumes.
PROS: People whose favorite characters are Lawful Good might describe them as idealistic, protective, selfless, inspirational and truly heroic.
CONS: Those who dislike these characters would call them boring, corny, self-righteous, preachy, or stupid.
Examples: Captain America, Superman, Thor, Wonder Woman

Michael Sheen and Sarah Silverman have confirmed rumors they are dating by holding hands during two separate outings in LA.
The couple grabbed a bite to eat at Cafe Midi with friends on Saturday, where they engaged in some serious mid-meal PDA. "They seemed very happy," an eyewitness tells E! News.
They were also seen walking hand-in-hand during a "leisurely stroll" on Sunday.
The couple were first linked after they attended Sheen's 45th birthday party together in early February. Arriving and leaving in the same car, Silverman, 43, and Sheen celebrated at Craig's restaurant with guests including Lizzy Caplan, Kate Hudson, Demi Moore and Sheen's ex Kate Beckinsale. The couple were later spotted at Soho House, where they "were all over each other for a lot of the night."
Silverman and Sheen are both known to stay friendly with their exes. Silverman, 43, has said of ex Jimmy Kimmel: "We were together for so long and tried our best to make it work. I can think of him now and don't have that edgy feeling anymore. I just love him to pieces."
Meanwhile, Kate Beckinsale, 40, has said of Sheen: "He's absolutely one of my most favourite people ever. I love him dearly - I would miss him dreadfully if he wasn't in my life. He's one of the most thoughtful, principled people and Lily is so lucky to have him as a dad."

OWN’s prime average in the key W25-54 demo marked a six-month high, up +11% versus January and up +86% versus one year ago. OWN is the fastest-growing cable network for W25-54 versus a year ago.
The popular drama “The Haves and the Have Nots” from Tyler Perry is cable’s most-watched show on Tuesday nights and the #1 original cable series for African-Americans. It also ranks in the top 10 original primetime series overall on ad-supported cable nets in W25-54, making OWN Tuesday nights the #2 cable network for W25-54, nearly tying with TBS.
Other series that bolstered OWN’s February include the comedy series “Love Thy Neighbor” from Tyler Perry, which was Wednesday night’s #1 original cable series for African-American W25-54 and total viewers. The second season of docu-series “Raising Whitley,” following actress/comedienne Kym Whitley, and new docu-series “Mom’s Got Game,” following former WNBA player Pamela McGee and her son, Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee, are Saturday night’s top two original series on all of television for African-American W25-54.
When are we getting reruns of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" though??
Harry Styles has been surrounded by Kendall Jenner split rumours recently, but despite the 1D hunk being linked to many gorgeous ladies over the past couple of years, Louis Tomlinson has said that he is still a pretty good boyfriend.
And with Hazza allegedly back on the market, no doubt there will be plenty of girls out there willing to take him out on a date or two. Not only is the curly haired babe a fifth of one of the biggest boybands out there, but he's also a romantic, according to loved-up Louis, who has been dating Eleanor Calder for two years.
Louis told The Sun: “I think we are actually all pretty good boyfriends. We’re definitely romantic.”
Despite Zayn Malik being engaged to Perrie Edwards, Louis being loved-up with Eleanor and Liam Payne dating Sophia Smith, Louis did go on to say that it is hard to have a romance in the public eye.
He told the paper: “It’s definitely harder, but I think we’re in relationships because we want to be in them…
“We want to make them work [so] you only get distracted if you want to be distracted.”

At his current trajectory, there's no doubt that Thomas William Hiddleston is on course for greatness, awards and probably medals from nations far and wide. If he goes on to become a knight of the realm and a demigod to a tribe of discerning cineastes, we certainly won’t begrudge him it. His wildly fun turn as Loki in Thor saw him mischief his way to prominence, earning him Avengers MVP status, alongside franchise lodestar Robert Downey Jr.. But it’s not just his Marvel work or – sorry Tom! – his Empire Sexiest list prominence that’s notable about him. With Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive offering a walk on the wan side, here’s our pick of his other roles to date.
THE HOLLOW CROWN (2012)
It’s not just about movies, theatre and teaching Cookie Monster the concept of patience with To-Hi – he also gives tremendous TV. In the BBC’s Henry IV Part I and II and Henry V, he made an acclaimed Prince Hal, a role he couldn’t have been more born to play if he’d been christened ‘Hal’, his dad was king and his hair naturally grew in a saucer shape. Of course, none of that applies – his dad is a scientist and he has excellent hair – but he does effortless communicate the rare mix of noblisse oblige and warrior spirit demanded by Shakespeare’s warring royal. Producer Sam Mendes tapped him for the role and his Thor boss Kenneth Branagh (himself a former Henry V) emailed him encouragement beforehand, gestures that show the esteem in which he’s held by even hallowed stage and screen veterans.
