Bachelor Juan Pablo Issues Apology, Blames Language Barrier for 'Pervert' Comment

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I want to apologize to all the people I may have offended because of my comments on having a Gay or Bisexual Bachelor. The comment was taken out of context. If you listen to the entire interview, there’s nothing but respect for Gay people and their families. I have many gay friends and one of my closest friends who’s like a brother has been a constant in my life especially during the past 5 months. The word pervert was not what I meant to say and I am very sorry about it. Everyone knows English is my second language and my vocabulary is not as broad as it is in Spanish and, because of this, sometimes I use the wrong words to express myself. What I meant to say was that gay people are more affectionate and intense and for a segment of the TV audience this would be too racy to accept. The show is very racy as it is and I don’t let my 5 year old daughter watch it. Once again, I’m sorry for how my words were taken. I would never disrespect anyone. Sinceramente, Juan Pablo Galavis.

what a mess of an apology aka the only reason i made this post

SAG Awards Fashion: The Story Behind Anna Gunn's 'Breaking Bad' Clutch

Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn and "it" accessory designer Brett Heyman of the handbag and clutch label Edie Parker cooked up something extra special to go with her dazzling midnight blue Monique Lhuillier gown at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday. When the drama actress nominee stepped out on the red carpet, she showed off a custom black lacquer box clutch emblazoned with the television show’s periodic table logo in silver glitter.

“I’m a huge fan of Breaking Bad and of the gorgeous and talented Anna Gunn,” Heyman, Edie Parker’s founder and designer (who named the brand after her daughter), told Pret-a-Reporter. “Anna has been very supportive and we wanted to make her something as lasting and unforgettable as her performance to celebrate her SAG nomination.”

How Jimmy Savile abused up to 1,000 victims on BBC premises

The BBC will be plunged into a major crisis with the publication of a damning review, expected next month, that will reveal its staff turned a blind eye to the rape and sexual assault of up to 1,000 girls and boys by Jimmy Savile in the corporation's changing rooms and studios.

Dame Janet Smith, a former court of appeal judge, who previously led the inquiry into the murders by Dr Harold Shipman, will say in her report that the true number of victims of Savile's sexual proclivities may never be known but that his behaviour had been recognised by BBC executives who took no action.

Smith's investigations, which followed the Pollard inquiry into why the BBC shelved a Newsnight programme about Savile, will send shockwaves through the corporation.

A source close to the inquiry told the Observer: "The numbers are shocking. Many hundreds and potentially up to 1,000 people were victims of Savile when he was representing the corporation. The report will overshadow Pollard. It will go right to the heart of how Savile was able to get away with the most heinous of crimes under the very noses of BBC staff for more than 40 years."

The sheer scale of victims' testimonies being examined has delayed the publication of Smith's report by a month.

Peter Saunders, chief executive of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac), which has been consulted by Smith's inquiry, said: "In Savile's lifetime I wouldn't doubt [that 1,000 people had been abused by him on BBC property]. The other thing I have found extraordinary, and very sad, is the number of people I have spoken to connected to the BBC, and that is a lot of people, who said: 'Oh yes, we all knew about him.'

GoT S4 On the Set

Hey, hey, hey...it's Game of Thrones promo season, y'all!  I assume this will be airing on HBO sometime tonight if it hasn't aired already.  Since they used "On the Set" for this one, I guess we can look forward to "Invitation to the Set" in the future?  ;-P

If you want a closer look, WiC has screencaps and reblogged gifs on their Tumblr.

Hrm, no one has posted this yet? Were all the regular ONTD GoT posters distracted by the SAGs? Apologies mods if this is the 100th submission you've gotten of this.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning's rivalry, explained by the Hills in order to be relevant for ONTD

For those of you who don't know, football is still happening. And there are two big NFL games this weekend: the AFC Championship and the NFC Championship. In short, those games decide who will be playing in the Super Bowl. But it's the AFC matchup that most people are salivating over.

The Denver Broncos are playing the New England Patriots, and that means we'll get another chapter in the Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady rivalry saga. Basically, they are rivals because they're both really, really good quarterbacks, and if you're a fan of one, you almost automatically hate the other. So, Tom and Peyton don't really have a feud themselves, nor do they hate each other. This one is all about the fans.

Going to a football party this weekend? If you want to sound like you know what you're talking about during the Patriots-Broncos game, just read our rivalry recap below. And since we assume you're big into pop culture, we're using the greatest celeb rivalry of all time to explain Tom and Peyton's situation: The Hill's Lauren Conrad vs. Heidi Montag. Hey, it's better than using puppets to get our point across. Puppets are creepy as hell. Ready?

Peter Pan to be NBC's Next Live Musical Event

 photo 51XL-vRjndL_zps66c8242d.jpg

NBC just announced its next big live musical event: Peter Pan. “Get ready for flying children and some kind of state-of-the-art light technology for Tinkerbell,” said Robert Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman.

The broadcaster reveal the decision at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Sunday. Earlier this season NBC had a stunning success with its telecast of The Sound of Music Live. The three-hour musical delivered 18.6 million viewers and a 4.6 rating during its first airing, despite star Carrie Underwood drawing some fire for her performance. Who should play Peter, do you think?

The network also announced two limited series projects:
– Emerald City, a 10-epsiode Oz tale described as a modern “thrilling, more epic version” of L. Frank Baum’s tale that drops a heroine into a place “that’s definitely not her grandmother’s Oz,” with “a lot of new characters.”

– The Slap, an eight-hour miniseries described as a “big drama about a family is torn apart when a child is slapped at a BBQ … this incident devolves all the way into an ugly court case.” The project is written by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters).

But will they cast a woman as Peter?

emmy award winning katherine heigl's CIA drama picked up to pilot at NBC

The former "Grey's Anatomy" star will topline "State of Affairs" for the network, marking the actress' return to TV. Katherine Heigl is inching closer to returning to TV. NBC has officially picked up drama State of Affairs to pilot, coming more than three months after the network landed the project following a multiple network bidding war.

The CIA project is being developed at Universal Television with Alexi Hawley (The Following) on board to pen the script and executive produce. Heigl will star and exec produce alongside Robert Simonds, her mother/manager, Nancy Heigl, Hawley, Henry Crumpton, Rodney Faraon and Julia Franz.

The drama, described as Scandal meets The West Wing, revolves around a maverick CIA officer (Heigl) who was plucked from the field to become the president's daily briefer, assuming responsibility for targeting America's most critical threats while navigating the unique lifestyle that comes with such a high-powered job.

For the actress, the drama -- should it go to series -- would mark her return to the small screen following her breakout role as Izzie on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Heigl left the drama in 2010 to pursue other opportunities following a creative clash with producers.

Beyoncé Shows Off Blue Ivy's Swanky Mini-Cars

Blue Ivy Carter may not get her driver's license for another 14 years, but she's already begun her car collection!

Beyoncé and Jay Z's daughter turned 2 on Jan. 7, and she can celebrate her birthday with a choice of two toy cars: a pink Cadillac or a blue Ferrari personalized with the words "Blue Ivy Baby Slab" on the windshield and "Baby Slab" on the seat.

Beyoncé posted a photo of the cars to her Tumblr account on Friday, a few days after sharing snapshots from Blue Ivy's sparkly, tiara-bedecked birthday party.

But Blue Ivy isn't the only celebrity baby with a chic set of mini wheels. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's daughter, North West, has a black toy Lamborghini to match her dad's, and Kardashian recently posted an Instagram photo of the small and large versions parked side by side with the caption, "Like father like daughter."

Perhaps a baby car derby is in order?

Madonna Celebrates Daughter Mercy's Birthday, Enjoys Family Time After N-Word Scandal

Madonna is spending some time with her loved ones following her controversial use of the N-word.

The 55-year-old singer, along with family and close friends, celebrated her daughter Mercy's 8th birthday on Saturday, Jan. 18, E! News can exclusively confirm. This sighting of the Material Girl came shortly after she apologized for using the racial slur accompanying an Instagram photo of her 13-year-old son, Rocco.

Madonna, her sons Rocco and David, her daughter Lourdes, a few adult supervisors, several nannies and about 15 of Mercy's friends enjoyed a private pizza party at Serafina restaurant in New York City.

"Mercy was clearly having a ball," an eyewitness dished about the adorable 8-year-old. "She was wearing a fancy little embellished dress with a white fur jacket. She and her friends were very giggly."

The group feasted on a variety of pies and Madonna treated herself to the restaurant's signature Tartufo Nero pizza, which has potatoes, robiola cheese and black truffles. Sounds absolutely delicious!

After eating birthday cake, Mercy stood next to her mother while she opened her presents and held them up so that the whole group could see the goodies.

"Mercy and her friends were especially giddy towards the end," the eyewitness added. "While waiting in line for the restroom they could be heard singing Miley Cyrus' ‘Wrecking Ball' at the top of their lungs. It was actually supercute."

NBC orders Oz-themed show "Emerald City" to series and "The Slap"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

NBC is building its 2013-14 lineup a little early. Moments after announcing that Peter Pan will be the 2014 follow-up to The Sound of Music Live!, network entertainment chair Bob Greenblatt told reporters at the Television Critics Association that the network has ordered two projects: Emerald City and The Slap.

Emerald City, one of several Wizard of Oz projects that's been floating around, is a dark retelling of the famous L. Frank Baum book series. Greenblatt said he expected a midseason launch for the project, which will run for 10 episodes.

"Emerald City could be over after 10 episodes," said Greenblatt, "but given the books there are to draw on, it could be on for five years."

Described as a "dramatic and modern reimagining," Emerald City focuses on a head-strong 20-year-old Dorothy Gale -- unwittingly sent to Oz, where she finds herself at the center of an epic and bloody battle. Writer Matt Arnold and Josh Friedman will serve as executive producers, with Universal Television producing.

Additionally, NBC has ordered the eight-part miniseries The Slap. The event series chronicles the fallout of what happens when a child is slapped at a family BBQ.Greenblatt and entertainment president Jennifer Salke were confident that it would only run as a miniseries.

Why is the media so desperate to erase Singer Janet Jackson from history?

It seems the media is desperate for Janet Jackson to quit the industry. Despite Janet and her team admitting on various occasions that a new album is in the pipeline, the media just refuses to acknowledge it.
Instead they repeat the same mantra: Janet has quit the industry, gone into hiding, converted to Islam and refuses to see her family – with gossip about her brothers begging for money and her suffering from severe OCD.

Janet told Billboard last month: “I am working on a new project now.” Soon after Miss Jackson was pictured at a writing session with producer Tommy Parker and Ian Cross, the A&R and Producer Engineer at Janet Jackson Music. Parker is also a writer/producer at Darkchild Records.
For some reason the media seems to have always resented Janet’s success in the 80?s and 90?s, when her rise started with “Control” they immediately claimed it was just because of her famous brother,

SAG Awards 2014: Daniel Bruhl is getting over his Oscar snub

By Amy Kaufman

When actors are snubbed for big awards, they typically smile through their disappointment.

Not so Daniel Bruhl, the "Rush" star who many thought was a shoe-in for a supporting Oscar nod after picking up a slew of other major nominations this season for his portrayal of Niki Lauda.

"I got four nominations and you become a bit greedy," he admitted Saturday on the red carpet of the SAG Awards, where he was nominated for his supporting role. "I thought, 'I think I'll get it for sure.' So it's been a disappointing couple of days."

Being at the SAG Awards, he said, boosted his spirits. "You realize it's all just a roller coaster.
"I'm amazed when these legends can even pronounce my name."

Amanda Bynes' First Day of School at FIDM

Amanda Bynes has returned to school!

The 27-year-old actress attended her first class at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) today at the school's Orange County campus, a source exclusively reveals to E! News.

"She was very nice, friendly and chatting with her classmates," the source tells us.

The source adds that Bynes was "originally going to be a fashion design major but has now decided to pursue merchandise product development. She is enrolled part-time for the winter quarter."

E! News reported that Bynes had enrolled at FIDM earlier this month. Back in December, she went for a tour at the FIDM O.C. campus dressed incognito in jeans and a floral-print shirt with sunglasses shielding her face and her hair pulled up in a ponytail.

Bynes has been spending lots of time with her parents since being released from treatment in early December. At the time, Bynes attorney told E! News the Hairspray star was "doing very well and reestablishing a close and loving relationship with her family."

Since being released, Bynes has been spotted on shopping trips with her mom and dad. The family even went on a trip to Disneyland last month.

Guess now Bynes will be spending more of her free time studying and hitting the textbooks!

Juan Pablo Galavis Apologizes Again and Will Meet With GLAAD

I am a father and I know the feel of being a father, why wouldn't I want my gay friends to also be happy parents? I also want gay and lesbian youth to know that it is fine to be who you are. Gay or straight, Black or White, Latin or American, what matters here is to respect who we are. I look forward to meeting with gay and lesbian families as well as Monica and Wilson from GLAAD. Lord Jamar Says White People "Don't Create Anything"

Lord Jamar also says we are heading in a direction where it will "seem odd for a black man to do Hip Hop."

In September, Lord Jamar said that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ "Same Love” pushed an agenda that he did not approve of. In a new, exclusive interview with HipHopDX, the Brand Nubian rapper says that he doesn’t think that a White rapper should push an agenda that goes against the principles upon which Hip Hop culture was founded.

“As a White person, who is a guest to the house of Hip Hop, you don't have the right, okay, to come in and try to decide where this shit should go,” Lord Jamar says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. "Make a Rock song saying that. Make some EDM shit promoting that. Like don't try to use our vehicle, our vehicle that we created, to promote some shit that you know we don't fuck with. That's all I'm saying.

"I'm not saying White people can't make Hip Hop,” Lord Jamar continues. "I'm not saying you can't talk about pretty much what you want to talk about, but then again, there are boundaries to everything. If I'm making wine, I can't just put fucking beer in there and call it wine. It's no longer wine. It's something else. Don't try to tell me that, ‘Oh, Hip Hop is self expression.' Yeah Hip Hop is self-expression. It is all those things. You're right. But, everything has its parameters, and to say that Black people don't own this music is ridiculous. All cultures want to highlight their accomplishments and there's nothing wrong with that."

Meryl Streep Throws Some Shade at Benedict Cumberbatch

Did Meryl Streep throw some shade at Benedict Cumberbatch?!

The 64-year-old August: Osage County star appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and opened up about what it was like filming the family drama in Bartlesville, OK.

"Well, it was my idea that we all live together in a condo village behind the Toyota dealership," the Oscar nominee explained to Jimmy Kimmel. "This went over really well with some of the members of the cast."

The actress then revealed that Margo Martindale, Abigail Breslin, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper, Ewan McGregor and Dermot Mulroney all took part in this unique living situation. One name was noticeably missing from the star-studded crowd: the Sherlock star.

"Actually Benedict Cumberbatch was in a special hotel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which is in the center of Bartlesville," Streep said with a slight air of disapproval with his choice of lodging while on location. And name-dropping the famous architect.

"Well, when your name's Benedict Cumberbatch, you can't stay in a condominium," Kimmel quickly responded.

"You can't cumberbatch down to where we are, no," Streep quipped.

Cute Superbowl Commercial/BRONCOS Post

Can you believe Super Bowl XLVIII is almost here? The 2014 Super Bowl halftime show — the most important part of the big day (aside from the commercials, of course) — will feature Bruno Mars in a wonderful performance sponsored by Pepsi. So when we get to see Bruno Mars tear up that stage, we’ll have our favorite fizzy drink to thank for the spectacular goodness. While we still have 15 days to wait, Pepsi thought it would be fun to take a look into the history of the bowl game and revive/recreate the incredible performance that featured the legendary Carol Channing.

Carol is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hello Dolly, the popular musical, and she’s also reminiscing on her own Super Bowl Halftime Show performance — which took place at the fourth Super Bowl back in 1970.

Pepsi teamed up with Carol to shoot a video reliving her New Orleans halftime performance. The video is all kinds of adorable and is a perfect way to wrap your arduous work week.

CDAN Blind Items

"On Saturday night this A list celebrity spent a ton of money on his A list mostly movie actress wife. She begged and pleaded for him to buy it for her. She doesn't ever spend her own money on anything. He bought it and apparently expected some sex that night which might be understandable considering he spent almost $1M. He didn't get any sex and none the next morning and by the time the Globes occurred our celebrity was in a really bad mood and he was openly fighting with his wife in a very subtle classy kind of way. Apparently this is not the first thing he has bought her recently to try and make her happy and it was not his choice to move to LA and for two married people they hate was palpable."

One of the more annoying people last night was this B- list mostly movie actress who used to star in a franchise and now doesn't do a whole lot. She got drunk and as the night wore on kept telling people that she could have been invited to the show but chose not to be because she wanted to give others a chance to attend who might not get another chance. She also kept reminding people that she turned down the role that Jennifer Lawrence won for which is not at all the truth. Our actress begged for an audition but had no shot of the part or even reading for it. Everyone wanted her to run into Jennifer Lawrence but it didn't happen.

The 11 (5+1 ONTD Exclusive) biggest 2014 Oscar nomination snubs

The Academy got a lot of things right this year, but, as always, they left a lot of expected nominees out in the cold. Relative surprises like Philomena’s Best Picture nomination, Christian Bale’s Best Actor nomination and Amy Adams’ Best Actress nomination meant that the films and actors below didn’t make the cut.

Inside Llewyn Davis

The biggest snub of all hit the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis hard. A nomination for the excellent lead actor Oscar Isaac was a long shot in an overly crowded Best Actor year, but the fact that the film was shut out of Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay had to really hurt.

On top of all that, this film about the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s couldn't even break into the Best Original Song category. While the musical centerpiece of the film is a new version of an old traditional and therefore ineligible, the one original piece for the film, the hilarious "Please Mr. Kennedy" was left off the list. Who wouldn't want to see Isaac, Justin Timberlake and Adam Driver perform this instant hit on Oscar night? (OP's note: the song was actually ruled ineligible because it contains quotations, thus making it "not original")

Change.Org Petition Asks Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson to Apologize for Offensive Tweets

Last week Louis Tomlinson tweeted he was "gutted" that Evander Holyfield had been cut from UK’s Celebrity Big Brother. The problem? Only days earlier Holyfield had caused an uproar for making homophobic and ableist comments on the show, saying: “It is a choice, come on, that ain’t the way nobody is made. If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right." Many One Direction fans were quick to use social media to reach out to Louis and explain why his support for Holyfield was offensive to them.

Yesterday Louis' bandmate Liam Payne tweeted support for Willie Robertson of the reality tv show Duck Dynasty, saying "@williebosshog huge love to you/your family huge respect for your business prosperities and the family values you still all behold. big fan." Once again, many, many fans immediately pointed out that the Robertson Family has been criticized in the US after Willie's father Phil Robertson made racist and homophobic comments during an interview in GQ last month.

The petition states: "We deserve a thoughtful and sincere apology from Louis and Liam for their insensitive and careless remarks, free from justifications and excuses for their tweets. A meaningful apology would entail apologizing for what Louis and Liam said, and for saying things that hurt people."

To date, neither Louis nor Liam have made any meaningful apology to their fans for their public support of people who have said offensive and dehumanizing things.

Evander Holyfield also admitted to punching a pregnant horse in the FACE (via TMZ.com). What a stand up guy.

Don’t be conned into thinking American Hustle is Oscar-worthy

Steve McQueen’s haunting drama 12 Years a Slave has been long been tipped to have the Oscars race sewn up but now it looks like a serious rival has emerged – American Hustle.

Director David O Russell reunites with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence again after Silver Linings Playbook and it seems this combination was too much for Academy Award voters to resist, who showered it with nominations. Ten in total.

Only Alfonso Cuarón’s jaw-dropping 3D sci-fi epic Gravity scored as many Oscar nods while 12 Years a Slave got nine.

American Hustle, which has shades of Boogie Nights, Donnie Brasco and Casino, is a witty and fun crime caper about a con man (Christian Bale) forced to co-operate with the FBI.
