Billy Ray Cyrus Recording Hip Hop Version of “Achy Breaky Heart”

According to media personality Larry King, Billy Ray Cyrus, King of the Atomic Mullet and father of devil spawn Miley Cyrus, is recording a hip hop version of his everlasting, demonically evil, and historically bereft scourge of Western Civilization known as “Achy Breaky Heart.”

“Achy Breaky Heart” is considered by many regardless of genre or taste as one of the worst songs in not just the history of country music, but the history of music.

Bill Nye To Show Off In An Evolution Vs Creationism Debate

'Bill Nye the Science Guy' to debate evolution with the founder of Kentucky's Creation Museum

Will Bill Nye deliver the ultimate science smackdown to creationists?

Ken Ham, founder of Kentucky's Creation Museum, wrote on his blog that the bow-tied television personality and staunch evolutionist would square off with him in a Feb. 4 debate.

"This debate will help highlight the fact that so many young people are dismissing the Bible because of evolution, and even many young people who had grown up in the church decided to leave the church because they saw evolution as showing the Bible could not be trusted," Ham said.

An email inquiry to Nye's assistant was not immediately returned. The museum had been hoping to attract Nye after the star said in a Youtube video that teaching creationism was bad for children.

"I say to the grown-ups, if you want to deny evolution and live in your world, in your world that's completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that's fine, but don't make your kids do it because we need them," Nye said in the video, which has amassed nearly 6 million views.

The event, which is titled "Is Creation a Viable Model of Origins?" will be held at the Petersburg, Ky., museum's Legacy Hall. Tickets for the two-and-a-half hour debate cost $25, and will go on sale Jan. 6, according to the museum's website.

Adriana Lima Gets Us Motivated With New Year Diet And Exercise Routine

Needing some inspiration for a New Year detox? Adriana Lima's got just the thing.
Adriana Lima seems to be the diet and work-out inspiration of the moment as her nutritionist unveils her foolproof Paleo diet and her trainer shows off her cardio circuit training regime.
There's no doubt that the Victoria's Secret Angel has got a body to die for, but it comes with a lot of motivation and self-discipline. Adriana wasted no time in getting back into the gym after Christmas and it's no wonder as the festive season is the only time Ms Lima allows herself to indulge. 'I eat everything I want on Christmas day', she told Hello! Online. 'I really don't watch what I eat.' The rest of the time, however, she's sticking stringently to 2013's most popular diet, the Paleo diet.

'The basic idea of the Paleo Diet is to eat what is natural and available', her nutritionist Dr. Charles Passler told E! Online. 'If it looks like it came from nature it is fine. No processed foods including breads and pasta.' Other things that are eliminated in this diet are alcohol and sugar - two things most of us could do with shunning for a while after an indulgent Xmas and New Year.
So, how's Adriana keeping in shape for her 2014 lingerie modelling? Well, she and her trainer Michael Olajide Jr. unveiled a short video explaining her full-body work-out on Self.com. It included boxing and rope jumping techniques; things that she can easily do at home without trekking all the way to the gym.

'With two little girls, it can be tough to find time to go to the gym', she said. 'Jumping rope is something I can easily do at home - I try and squeeze it in during my daughters' naptime!'

'Interior. Leather Bar.' Reviews Are In: How Did James Franco Do?

Remember that time gay icon James Franco made a movie about S&M and gay sex? Now it's time to see it!

"Interior. Leather Bar." had its premiere in the New Frontiers program at the Sundance Film Festival last January, and now, a year later, the film debuts in select theaters.

Franco co-stars as himself in the documentary-style movie, in which he attempts to recreate 40 minutes of ultra-explicit footage deleted from 1980's "Cruising," a psychological thriller starring Al Pacino. It's about filmmaking as a creative process, the experience of an actor and, yes, the depiction of hardcore gay sex.

In case anyone got beyond the words "James Franco" and "gay sex" and still needs to know more before rushing out to buy a ticket to the Franco-directed flick (co-directed and written by Travis Mathews), MTV News has a roundup of the reviews to gauge how Franco's project was received.

Natasha Leggero's Open Letter Regarding New Year's Eve

(in case you missed it, original post here)

On New Years Eve I made what I thought was a harmless joke http://dailym.ai/1crNs71

Here is my response

Well hello America!

It's been a busy few days but rest assured, I have received all of your messages and have been busy sifting through the different creatively misspelled death threats, rape fantasies and most of all repeated use of the the C word. In the past few days I have been called a cunt so much I felt like I was in a British pub rooting for the wrong soccer team. Click here to see some of my faves!

I wish I could apologize, but do you really want another insincere apology that you know is just an attempt at damage control and not a real admission of guilt? Let me just try instead to be honest.

Lisa Robin Kelly Died From Multiple Drugs, Coroner Says

Lisa Robin Kelly, the troubled actress who played bad girl Laurie Forman on the Fox sitcom “That ’70s Show,” died of multiple drug intoxication, the Los Angeles County coroner’s department said Friday.

Kelly died at age 43 in August 2013, after entering a rehab facility in an effort to clean up. Her rehab stay was preceded by a history of legal and substance-abuse woes.

Further details from the coroner’s department were scant, aside from the fact that the fatal intoxication took place by oral ingestion, and that the manner of death was accidental.

The coroner’s report, which requires additional time for transcription, is not yet available to the public.

Kelly’s agent told TheWrap at the time of the actress’ death that she had been “hopeful and confident” in her final days.

“Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years,” the agent told TheWrap. “I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. Last night she lost the battle.”

However, her entry into rehab had been preceded by a difficult period for Kelly. Replaced on “That ’70s Show” for the series’ sixth season, Kelly had made headlines for troubled behavior in the months leading up to her death. Kelly was arrested in November 2012 for allegedly assaulting her husband, and earlier that year had been charged with corporal injury of a spouse.

While denying the March assault — charges were eventually dropped — the actress did tell “Good Morning America” that she had developed a drinking problem after suffering a miscarriage.

“I had lost a baby, and as a result of that, I lost everything, and I was abusing alcohol, which I no longer do,” Kelly, who claimed to be sober for three months at the time of the interview, said. “With ‘That ’70s Show,’ I was guilty of the drinking problem and I ran. And I am not running from this. And I have paid my dues. And if I can make it through this, I can make it through anything.”

10 (5) Ways Natives Made Waves in Arts and Culture in 2013

Patricia Michaels Makes the Final Two on Project Runway

When all was said and done, veteran Santa Fe-based designer Patricia Michaels, Taos Pueblo, didn't win Project Runway, despite being, arguably, the favorite going into the final night. A disappointment -- but hardly the end of the world for Michaels, who has been creating her own fashions for 20 years. Win or lose, her run to the show's finale raised her profile and prepared her for bigger things to come. Michaels wasn't the only Native winning hearts and minds on a TV competition show -- rap act Mike Bone made an enjoyable, though unsuccessful, run at fame on America's Got Talent.

When we caught up with Oscar-winning American Beauty scribe Alan Ball a few years ago he had this to say about killing his darlings in the bittersweet series finale of his cult HBO drama series, Six Feet Under: "I'm not sure that that was hard, because I feel like it was earned, and it was also part of what the show was about: the fact that death is for everybody, nobody escapes it. When I wrote it I was up at my cabin at Lake Arrowhead and I had taken a couple of my dogs and as I was writing that final sequence I just started weeping. It was a good kind of crying, it was cathartic. I remember each dog just sitting on the floor and staring at me with my laptop just crying like a baby thinking 'what the hell is wrong with him?'"

In Defense of Beyoncé: Why the Challenger Disaster Belongs in a Love Song

Beyoncé Knowles’ track “XO” from her new album Beyoncé begins with a six-second sample of NASA public affairs officer Steve Nesbitt’s commentary immediately after the space shuttle Challenger exploded in January, 1986. “Flight controllers here looking very carefully at the situation… obviously a major malfunction,” Nesbitt says in a monotone punctuated by the beep of a walkie-talkie. Then the song starts, never to return to that sample, or subject.

In the post-Christmas news vacuum, that brief sample provoked a trumped-up outrage. NASA press secretary Lauren B. Worley and June Scobee Rodgers, the widow of Challenger commander Dick Scobee, laid into Rodgers laid into Beyoncé for daring to refer to something that “should never be trivialized.” Beyoncé responded with a meaningless but suitably reverential statement that she and co-writers Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Terius “The-Dream” Nash “included the audio in tribute to the unselfish work of the Challenger crew with hope that they will never be forgotten.”

Chris Pine Compares Lindsay Lohan To The Beatles

Chris Pine got quite the wake-up call when he filmed the 2006 romantic comedy "Just My Luck" with paparazzi magnet Lindsay Lohan.

"It was a real cyclone of insanity, like being around The Beatles," the 33-year-old "Star Trek" actor told The Hollywood Reporter. "It was fascinating to watch, and in hindsight it's really a distinct moment in someone's life when you see what's really wonderful about what we get to do and what's really dangerous about it."

Pine added, "Hollywood is like living in a weird bubble. A bunch of people take care of you and get you stuff, and you're the center of that little microcosmic world. You start believing that it is real and ...you deserve it."

Unlike many young stars, Pine puts a premium on his privacy. His romantic life, for example, is "something I don't really want to talk about." And he has no intention of joining Twitter, either.

"F--k no," he says of signing up for the social networking site. "What am I going to tweet about? My sneakers? Or, 'I have 140,000 friends on Facebook.' What does that even mean? I find it to be a waste of time. The internet is so caustic; just a place where people get to spew nonsense and bulls--t."

Pine's problem with being a public figure is only exacerbated by the paparazzi.

"They f---ing suck," he says. "The light of my flame was really bright after Star Trek [in 2009], and I had that bizarre convergence of everything's so intense for about a month, and then it died down. During that time, they're f---ing chasing you, and you're driving at speeds you shouldn't be driving at. Thankfully, I don't really have much of that anymore."

5 Reasons You Need to Binge Watch Veronica Mars Right Now

OMG, the Veronica Mars movie trailer just hit the Internet and IT LOOKS SO GOOD.
Maybe you weren’t one of the few but EXTREMELY loyal Veronica Mars diehards, aka “Marshmallows,” like myself, when the series ran for three seasons from 2004 to 2007. Kristen Bell starred as a sassy teenage private detective/high school student trying to solve the mystery of her best friend’s murder all while navigating the treacherous journey known as adolescence. I was sold from the start when the show was billed as “the new Buffy,” another one of my favorite teenage girl power shows.

Figure Skater Brian Boitano On Coming Out And Going To Sochi

When the White House named the delegation President Obama plans to send to the Winter Olympics in Sochi, many took it as a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Absent were any high-ranking U.S. officials: The president is too busy to attend, the White House said. But on the list were prominent LGBT athletes, which many took as a clear rebuke of Russia's controversial anti-gay laws. Brian Boitano, who won the 1988 gold medal for figure skating, is one of the delegates, though he didn't come out as gay until two days after the White House released the names of the people who would represent the U.S.

At the height of his career in 1988, Boitano says coming out was not an option. "It's really difficult for athletes. In the Olympics in 1988 it was the height of homophobia. I had an agent, my very first agent say 'I don't know if you are gay or not but you can't tell anyone and you need to make sure you are completely private about it. We need to get endorsements for you so you just need to be quiet"

Even though he only recently came out publicly, Boitano says people in his life have known he is gay. But, he says, he wanted to be known for his skating achievements rather than his sexuality.

Lord Jamar Says White People Gravitate To White Artists "Doing Black Music"

Lord Jamar calls Miley Cyrus a "white Rihanna," says Miley's "whiteness will propel her even further than Rihanna."

In a recent interview with Vlad TV, Brand Nubian rapper Lord Jamar briefly circled back to the topics discussed in his September 2013 interview with the website. In his September interview, the New York lyricist declared that white rappers “are guests in the house of Hip Hop” and in his most recent interview with Vlad TV, the New York emcee stated that that comment also goes for Eminem.

In addition to labeling Eminem a guest in Hip Hop, Jamar shared his belief that white artists need a co-sign from a black person in order to be successful in black music. Among the artists Jamar says received a co-sign are the Beastie Boys, Justin Timberlake, and Eminem. He also suggested that Vanilla Ice’s lack of a co-sign is the reason why the rapper wasn’t successful.

“If this is not black music then how come every white artist needs a co-sign from a black person? Beastie Boys had the co-sign from Run DMC,” Jamar said. “Eminem had the co-sign from Dr. Dre. Vanilla Ice didn’t have a co-sign. That’s why he didn’t fuckin last. Macklemore, see I don’t know who his co-sign is. Now he might be an exception to the rule, but I don’t know who his co-sign is. But at the same time, black peoples not really fucking with Macklemore like that.”

Prior to sharing his thoughts on co-signs, Lord Jamar offered his opinion on Miley Cyrus and revealed that the singer is trying to be a “white Rihanna.” He also stated that since Miley is white she’ll likely be more successful than Rihanna.

Gone With the Wind's Alicia Rhett Dies at 98

Alicia Rhett, a Southern actress who gained minor stardom on the strength of a single movie role – as the spinster India Wilkes, in 1939's Gone With the Wind – has died.

She was 98 and the oldest surviving cast member of the Oscar-winning Civil War epic, based on the Margaret Mitchell novel.

A spokesperson for the Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community in Charleston, S.C., where Rhett had lived since 2002 (she never married), told the Associated Press that she succumbed to natural causes around 5 p.m. Friday.

The great-granddaughter of U.S. Sen. Robert Rhett, who was known as the "Father of Secession," Alicia Rhett was born in Savannah in 1915 but moved to Charleston following the death of her father, army officer and engineer Edmund Rhett, in World War I.

Becoming a theater actress in Charleston, she was spotted during a local production by George Cukor, the original director of Gone With the Wind, while he was on a talent hunt in the South. Cukor considered her for the role of Melanie Hamilton, which eventually went to Olivia De Havilland.

Rhett was cast as India, the sister of Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard), who is the object of Scarlett O'Hara's affection. Scarlett (Vivien Leigh) even steals India's beau, Melanie's brother Charles Hamilton, in revenge for Ashley's marrying Melanie – making a lifelong enemy of India in the process.

Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner Hit the Slopes Together

For someone whom she says she's just "friends" with, Kendall Jenner sure is spending a lot of quality time with Harry Styles.

The pair – who arrived in Mammoth, Calif., New Year's Day and are staying at a house with a group of friends, PEOPLE confirms – was spotted hitting the slopes on Friday.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 18, and the One Direction singer, 19, were with pals, but Styles, who previously dated Taylor Swift, could be seen gazing at t
he aspiring model.

"Kendall snowboarded and Harry skied. They were very cute together. There was a lot of flirting and smiling going on," a source tells PEOPLE. "Harry was a gentleman and even offered to carry Kendall's snowboard to the ski lift."

Harry "was trying to stay low-key and kept his ski goggles and hat on the whole time," the source adds. "He didn't remove his goggles until he got back to the car, after hours on the slopes."

The teens also hung out after hitting the powder and posed for pics with a fan at a snowboard shop.

Jenner and Styles first sparked rumors that they were a couple when they were spotted sharing a meal in West Hollywood in November.

But when the former X Factor U.K. contestant was asked by CNN's Piers Morgan if a relationship was in the works, Styles replied, "Dunno."

Steve McQueen: my hidden shame

His new film 12 Years A Slave is an unflinching look at human brutality. But director Steve McQueen's childhood contains a painful secret he has never confronted

Steve McQueen has known about slavery for as long as he can remember. To the son of West Indian parents, slavery's history is the story of his very existence: "So there is a weight on your chest, on your back, from a very early age." Yet he cannot recall having ever felt angry about it.

"Angry?" He looks puzzled. "No. You feel hurt that someone did such things, but angry? No." To McQueen, the notion sounds as bizarre as finding slavery funny. "Painful, sure. Hurt, absolutely. I don't know if that can be seen as anger. Not to say that I'm not angry with injustice, of course – and slavery is a huge injustice. But thinking about it that way? No." From his baffled expression, you might think him literally unaware that anger is quite a common response.

Like many artists, McQueen experiences the world from a highly singular perspective. As a working-class boy growing up in 1980s suburbia, "there were no examples of artists who were like me. When did you ever see a black man doing what I wanted to do?" His father kept telling him to get a trade; even when his son began to be successful, "he was still taking the piss, saying to my friend, 'Do you understand what Steve does?'" McQueen's first film, Bear, was 10 minutes long, silent, and consisted of two naked men, one of them him, wordlessly circling each other, staring and sparring.

A Killer Whale, a Dogged Filmmaker

In 2010, Tilikum, a bull orca, or killer whale, performing at SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla., killed his trainer, Dawn Brancheau, at the end of a show. Like many other people, the director Gabriela Cowperthwaite read news stories about the incident and wondered how it could have happened; unlike everyone else, she decided to investigate, and kept at it until she had finished a film, “Blackfish,” which has now been shortlisted for the Oscar in the documentary feature category.

Ms. Cowperthwaite, 42, came to documentary filmmaking via an unusual path. She was studying for a doctorate in political science at the University of Southern California when she took a course on the subject “to help my dissertation,” she said, and “absolutely fell in love with the medium.” Over the past 15 years she has directed, written and/or produced nearly a dozen documentaries, mostly for cable television channels like National Geographic, Animal Planet, ESPN and the History Channel.

Cee Lo: 'I'm aware of Gary Glitter's crimes, but I appreciate his music'

Cee Lo Green has said that his new solo album was in part influenced by Gary Glitter.

Although Green acknowledges that Glitter is a paedophile, he told Q Magazine: "I'm very aware of the crimes (Glitter) committed so I would not like to have this misconstrued. But I appreciate the musical contribution and (what he did) sonically."

Glitter was arrested for possession of child pornography in 1997 and was later jailed for child sex offences in Vietnam in 2006.

When initially asked about the influences on his new album, Green had said: "English pop like Gary Numan, The Human League and Duran Duran. It's applying that to urban music and making it sound current again," said Green. "I'm probably not supposed to say this, but for a while earlier in this project I had really got into Gary Glitter... It was singalong and raunchy rock 'n' roll."

Last year, Cee Lo Green had charges of sexual battery against him rejected because of insufficient evidence. CNN reported that the singer was however charged with furnishing a woman with ecstasy.

Jay Z’s Barneys clothing deal yields profits exceeding $1 million

The Shawn Carter Foundation has $1 million more in its coffers thanks to profits from the luxury clothing line Jay Z launched at Barneys’ flagship Manhattan store six weeks ago.

A source close to Barneys said figures were being tallied on Friday, the last day of sales, but profits had exceeded the million-dollar mark. The collection was unveiled amid a surge of criticism from Jay Z fans who wanted him to pull out of the Barneys deal after two black shoppers said they were racially profiled at the high-end store.

Instead, the rapper and the store pledged that 100% of the collection’s profits and 10% of all of Barneys’ sales on the day of the line’s debut would go to the foundation, which helps needy students pay for college.

Evanna's back to dark side in new film thriller

The 22-year-old will ditch her schoolgirl look for her new film project as a mother and wife to a drug dealer.

Despite her young age and wide-eyed expression, Lynch said she felt at home in her edgy new flick which she has just finished shooting.

The independent production, which also stars Pretty Little Liars actor Ian Harding, was shot in New York.

"I have to play a mother, which is weird, and wife to a drug dealer," she said. "It is a small indie movie called Dynamite: A Cautionary Tale and hopefully it will premiere in the summer."

Kylie Jenner Thinks Her Monogamy Bothers You

Lacking precise punctuation and context, Jenner’s message is open to interpretation.

ONTD ORIGINAL: Nostalgia Post/Where Are They Now? Pop-Rock/Scene Bands of the 2000s

It's time to pull out your eyeliner, sweat bands or rubber bracelets, and Hot Topic clothing, ONTD, because this is a motherfucking nostalgia post! Leave your pop girl stan wars behind and enter a new realm of slash shipping so intense it would make Larry shippers cry out of fear.

Remember the 2000s, that decade that already feels like it happened forever ago? What about all the bands you listened to in middle/high school if you didn't want to be a ~poser (or, conversely, the bands that listening to made you a poser? Well, it's time to see where they are now. Who's still somehow managing to kick it around and make music? Who died out like your Sidekick phone around 2008? Let's check in on them and relive some of the best drama that happened!

Also: both Taking Back Sunday and Brand New were left out because it would've meant discussing the drama with them, Say Anything, Eisley, and Paramore, which would've made this post 3 times longer and really deserves a post in itself lol.
