Did Britney Spears perform with paint-on abs?

(unedited image from Britney's Tumblr)

As the first photos of Britney Spears' Vegas residency show come out, some things are looking too good to be true.

While the 32-year-old singer's midsection looks toned in her midriff baring outfits, Spears' abs seem to be enhanced with the help of cosmetics or body makeup.

The Daily Mail reports that Spears "might have opted for a spot of make-up trickery to give her abdominals that extra Vegas showgirl quality." Indeed, Spears abs show uniform lines sectioning off her abdomen into a six-pack. But some are saying the muscle definition seems too perfect to be real.

Thanks but no Yanks Kendall! Harry Styles only to date British girls

The 19-year-old boy-band star had been seen out with American teen Kendall Jenner but he has told pals he wants nothing to do with her family's reality TV lifestyle.

Harry and Kendall - Kim Kardashian's stepsister - had been spotted wining and dining all over Hollywood. But our insiders say the Worcestershire born singer finds Kendall, 18, "one of the most boring people" he has ever met and that he has no desire to start socializing with her notorious clan.

Our source told the Daily Star Sunday: "Harry finds Kendall very attractive but finds her personality practically nonexistent. The thought of spending time with her family is terrifying for him and he has no plans to turn Kendall into his girlfriend.

"Harry has a very dry, British humour and thinks he'd be better off with an English girl who gets his sarcasm."

The ladies' man is also rumoured to be struggling with being in the spotlight.

He recently told pals he is "fed up" with people asking him about his famous lifestyle and misses having normal conversations about everyday things.

"Harry is a really down-to-earth guy and he appreciates the opportunities he has in front of him but he's really struggling with certain aspects of fame," said one friend.

Rumour: Denzel Washington to play Green Lantern?

Report suggests Oscar-winning actor will join the ever-growing ensemble cast of Batman vs. Superman

Prepare for the latest 'Batman vs. Superman' rumour: it has been claimed that Denzel Washington is in line to play Green Lantern in the Warner Bros/DC 2015 superhero team-up movie.
The Oscar-winning superstar was already rumoured to be a potential Lex Luthor, before Joaquin Phoenix emerged as the most hotly tipped contender for that role (another rumour which, it should be stressed, remains unconfirmed).

Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger's Biggest Regret.

Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger has revealed her heartache over never having children. The 52-year-old, who has made a career out of playing cupid for high-rollers, says she wasn't 'lucky' enough to meet the right guy to start a family with at the right time. The Bravo reality star also admitted she terminated a pregnancy during her 20s because she didn't want to raise a child on her own.

When quizzed by a Twitter fan in a Q&A session with OK! magazine, she said: 'My biggest regret is that I didn't have children. I had an abortion in my 20s,' she admitted in the candid interview. 'I was pregnant and I didn't have enough money and I didn't think it was ok to have a child and be a single parent. And now look, everyone's doing it! I didn't find the right guy at the right time to have one with, I guess. But I don't think I would adopt and be single. I [thought] I would have eventually found a guy, settled down, got the picket fence. I just didn't meet person at the right time, I wasn't that lucky, like a lot of other people.'

Patti, who has never married, is in a relationship with former baseball player turned mortgage broker David Krause. The pair met online in March 2012 and while they are not officially engaged, she does wear a 'promise ring' on her wedding finger. Patti was previously engaged to real estate executive Andy Friedman, but after a seven year relationship they split up in 2010 as he did not want children.

Emma Watson Reunites With ‘Wallflower’ Director For ‘While We’re Young’

It’s not been a bad week for the former Harry Potter stars. We’ve had Rupert Grint’s viagra overdose, Daniel Radcliffe seems to have attracted the attentions of Katy Perry, and now details of Emma Watson’s latest movie project have been unveiled, and it seems she’s making one of those Freaky Friday-style age-swap adventures.

Stephen Chbosky, who directed Emma in The Perks of Being A Wallflower, has signed her up to star in While We’re Young, the tale of a 75-year-old woman whose affiliation with her 29-year-old granddaughter leads her to make a birthday wish that she was that age again. And of course, the wish comes true.

It’s an adaptation of the novel 29, by Adena Halpern, and should come out after we’ve seen Russell Crowe’s biblical epic Noah, and Your Voice In My Head, based on the memoirs of writer Emma Forrest.

Katy Perry: 'My Image Is Superficial'

Popstar Katy Perry has revealed she is now paying little attention to what people say about her, confessing she is the “captain” of her career.
The 29-year-old singer, who is very much loved-up in her relationship with John Mayer, has also ditched Google alerts to avoid seeing what the public are saying about her.
"I am the captain of my career. But I am also Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, which is my real name," she told Joy magazine. "My image is just something superficial. I also try not to pay attention to what other people think of me.
“I used to have Google alerts set up, which would notify me about everything that was being written about me. But I've stopped all that now. After all; there are more important things in life."
Even though the 'Fireworks' hitmaker is notorious for her colourful and bold outfits, Perry will always dress according to how she is feeling.
"I just want to make people smile and show myself in a funny light," she added. "Sometimes I enjoyed playing a blue-haired troll. Sometimes my mood was more romantic. I still go with whatever I'm feeling.
“Even the Candy Queen from the Teenage Dream days is still in me. However, I wouldn't advise anyone to dye their own hair! It was a huge mission going from pink back to black. I had to get professionals involved, or else my hair would have fallen out by now!"

Jennifer Lopez Readies New Single "Same Girl", Shoots Music Video In The Bronx

J.Lo is back on the block! In the last two years, Jennifer Lopez has been abducted by the EDM beats, leaving her "urban" self in the past. Scoring major global hit like "On The Floor" made Jennifer think EDM was going to be her style of choice for the many years to come. Later “Dance Again” and “Live It Up” followed, all RedOne-produced and Pitbull-assisted EDM singles. Although “Dance Again” wasn't a flop, it did not match the success of “On The Floor" (disenchantment with J.Lo's new music style began to be noticeable), and “Live It Up” did tank on the charts.

Rising prospective ONTD Boyfriend Oscar Isaac on acting and making music

The latest film by the Coen Brothers, "Inside Llewyn Davis," is a funny little flick. During their press tours for the film, the always-sardonic filmmakers have joked that the story is plotless, which is why they shoehorned a cat into the movie -- to keep the audience happy. Of course, this is another of their trademark defections from the depths of their own art; naturally, there's a lot going on in this film, a deceptively simple tale of a hapless folksinger making his way during the early 1960s. The Greenwich Village setting, austere palate and wonderful and rich soundtrack hearken back to the kind of neighbourhood depicted on the cover of Bob Dylan's "Freewheelin'" album. The character of Llewyn is based in part on a number of yeoman folkies, including the likes of Dave Van Ronk, the so-called Mayor of MacDougal Street.

Even more than any historical figure, it's the film's star Oscar Isaac that really brings the character to life, bringing both a sensitivity of performance and a deep musical understanding to the role. The casting is impeccable, and from the opening shots of the film where we hear him singing to a smoke-filled room, we're absolutely transfixed in this man's journey. Moviefone spoke to Isaac soon after his Golden Globe nomination was announced, and delved into just what it's like to be playing such a major part within the Coen's world.

Niall Horan to have knee surgery next week in the States

It’s been reported today that One Direction singer Niall Horan is to undergo surgery next week on his knee.

He’ll jet to the States for the operation, and it’s expected that he’ll stay in an exclusive clinic for ten days.

A source close to 1D said, “Niall has battled this problem since he was a child. His knee dislocates and it is very uncomfortable.”

To The Sun’s TV Biz, the insider added, “He’s had physio sessions for years but the pain persists so surgery is the best solution to have him fully fit and ready for the demands of a long tour.”

Last year, Niall spent weeks on crutches because of his knee, and at the time, he joked that a squirrel attack had damaged his leg.

But of the surgery, the paper adds, “He is in good hands for the surgery. SIMON COWELL’s record label Syco is to foot the bill for all travel and medical costs.”

Charlie Sheen Sex Tape - Victim Tells Cops It's Real and She Can Prove It

The woman who claims 4 of her computers were stolen because the burglars were targeting a Charlie Sheen sex tape has told cops ... she can prove the tape exists because she now has a copy.

Christina Fulton -- Nic Cage's baby mama -- triggered the investigation by reporting the theft, but cops never found the computers or the sex tape. Nonetheless, Christina's former handyman, Ricardo Orozco, has been arrested and charged with the burglary. Two other people who were on scene were cleared by the D.A. because there wasn't enough solid proof to mount a solid case ... something that has pissed off cops.

But now Christina says she has solid proof -- a copy of the tape and she has told cops she will fork it over next week.

The tape could be critical evidence ...As we first reported Orozco and the other 2 went to the office of Charlie's lawyer shortly after the burglary ... asking what they would pay for the tape. If cops determine the tape did indeed exist and can link it to Christina's computer, it could be a smoking gun in the criminal case. And it's possible the D.A. could take another look at the other two alleged accomplices.

Peyton Manning breaks more records, remains flawless while doing so

He had 265 yards to go, and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was able to break Drew Brees’ single season passing record on Sunday afternoon in Oakland in the first half.
Brees had held the record with 5,476 yards since 2011. Manning broke it on a touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas against the Raiders at Coliseum just before halftime.
It was Manning’s fourth touchdown pass of the game, and his second of the day to Thomas. At halftime Manning had 266 passing yards. The Broncos went into the locker room at halftime with a 31-0 lead and Manning didn’t play in the second half.
With the touchdown, the Broncos also broke a record for most touchdowns in a single season, including defensive and special teams touchdowns. The team now has 76 touchdowns this season.

Who inspires Britney Spears? Beyonce, Bruno — and her ex JT.

LAS VEGAS — Roaring into an opening weekend for Britney: Piece of Me, her new two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, the onetime fixture on the charts and in tabloids romped through a 24-song spectacle that brought out fans such as Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, both of whom owe Spears a rump-shaking debt.

But backstage prior to Friday's kickoff, Spears pointed admiring fingers anywhere but at herself, telling USA TODAY that she "looks up to Beyoncé, what she did with her (surprise release) album was genius, really brilliant."

As for Cyrus, with whom she shares her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, Spears says: "She's cool, she's fun to be around. You know, she's got really good energy."

And her admiration for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, was made evidence during her "favorite part of the show, where it's just me in the spotlight (during Me Against the Music) with a hat on, which is really a tribute to Michael

She's also a fan of New Zealand teen sensation Lorde, "who is really different and cool … This generation is hungry for new sounds. Bruno Mars is so different and fresh, and (ex-boyfriend) Justin Timberlake is, too. It's inspiring for me, and it makes people eager to listen to music, which helps everyone."

The only thing that bums Britney out? The demise of the CD and an album-oriented music business.

"We're too smart for our own good," she says backstage at the Axis theater, which was redesigned to suit her spectacle-heavy show. "We're at the point where the simplicity of buying a CD and the specialness has gone. I think it's a shame. The whole process of buying a record was so special."

This humble Queen. Always giving other artists respect and praise when it's due.

Simple Plan Posts DVD-Quality Concert on Youtube for Christmas

Canadian pop-rock band Simple Plan promised their fans a new concert DVD (the follow up to 2005's "Live from the Hard Rock") for Christmas. The concert was shot in Melbourne, Australia. The band just released a new EP called "Get Your Heart On! The Second Coming" and has promised a brand new fifth album in 2014.

Ani DiFranco "apologizes" for scheduling retreat at slave plantation. Cancels it.

i have heard you: all who have voiced opposition to my conducting a writing and performing seminar at the nottoway plantation. i have decided to cancel the retreat.

when i agreed to do a retreat (with a promoter who has organized such things before with other artists and who approached me about being the next curator/host/teacher), i did not know the exact location it was to be held. i knew only that it would be "not too far outside of new orleans" so that i could potentially come home to my own bed each night. and i knew that one of the days of the retreat was slated as a field trip wherein everyone would come to new orleans together. later, when i found out it was to be held at a resort on a former plantation, I thought to myself, “whoa”, but i did not imagine or understand that the setting of a plantation would trigger such collective outrage or result in so much high velocity bitterness. i imagined instead that the setting would become a participant in the event. this was doubtless to be a gathering of progressive and engaged people, so i imagined a dialogue would emerge organically over the four days about the issue of where we were. i have heard the feedback that it is not my place to go to former plantations and initiate such a dialogue.

tragedies on a massive scale are not easily dealt with or recovered from. i certainly in no way expect or want to be immune from that pain or that process of recovery. i welcome (and in fact have always pursued) constructive dialogue about these and all political/social issues. my intention of going ahead with the conference at the nottoway plantation was not to be a part of a great forgetting but it's opposite. i know that pain is stored in places where great social ills have occurred. i believe that people must go to those places with awareness and with compassionate energy and meditate on what has happened and absorb some of the reverberating pain with their attention and their awareness. i believe that compassionate energy is transformative and necessary for healing the wounds of history. i believe that even though i am white, i can and must do this work too. if you disagree, i respectfully understand where you’re coming from and your right to disagree. i am not unaware of the mechanism of white privilege or the fact that i need to listen more than talk when it comes to issues of race. if nottoway is simply not an acceptable place for me to go and try to do my work in the eyes of many, then let me just concede before more divisive words are spilled. i obviously underestimated the power of an evocatively symbolic place to trigger collective and individual pain. i believe that your energy and your questioning are needed in this world. i know that the pain of slavery is real and runs very deep and wide. however, in this incident i think is very unfortunate what many have chosen to do with that pain. i cancel the retreat now because i wish to restore peace and respectful discourse between people as quickly as possible. i entreat you to refocus your concerns and comments on this matter with positive energy and allow us now to work together towards common ground and healing.

'Doctor Who' exec promises 'raw, different direction' in Series 8

Steven Moffat has revealed that the next series of Doctor Who will see the tone of the show change from recent years.

The showrunner told Nerd: "If Russell [T Davies] had stayed on, [the show] would still have changed. I remember when we had our handover chat, he was saying ‘so what are you going to do, are you going to change that?’ and I said ‘well, what would you change?’ and we both agreed ‘it’s time to kick a lot of stuff out’. And actually, it is time again to do that."

He added: "I just felt watching last time around [Series 7] that ‘oh, it’s time we fixed that and changed that and moved that up a bit and changed that tone’."

Matt Smith departed the show on Christmas Day in 'The Time of the Doctor', which wrapped up the majority of the Moffat era's plotlines so far.

Moffat explained: "It changes all the time, and it’s keeping ahead of the audience in a way. All shows age and they all age sort of in the same way. You learn how to do it, you get really slick at it, and then you think you’re really, really slick at it and everyone’s started to yawn. And you think ‘oh God, we’re really slick at this but everyone knows what we’re going to do’."

He teased: "So now we’ve got to actually get a bit raw at it and do it in a different direction. It happens on every show – you get good at it and ‘good at it’ is the enemy in the end."

Series 8 begins filming next month and is expected to start airing on BBC One in August 2014.

Lana Del Rey remix: Urban Noize Releases ‘Born To Die’ Remix With Jay-Z

A new Lana Del Rey remix has hit the web! “Born To Die (Urban Noize Remix),” created by South Florida production duo Urban Noize, mixes Lana Del Rey’s “Born To Die” with Jay-Z’s “Don't Let Me Die."

The remix is the final release from Urban Noize’s Jay-Z and Lana Del Rey remix EP called “American Beauty,” released November 5.

“This remix will serve as a bonus cut from our recently released Lana Del Rey & Jay Z remix EP American Beauty. And on the Born To Die remix, we’ll see the story arc of Lana’s original record expounded up on with deep, retrospective confessional verses from Jay Z,” Urban Noize writes on their Facebook page.

StupidDope writes of the new song, “The track finds them pairing Lana and Jay Z once more, again flawlessly doing so and giving us something infectious and incredibly dope to feast our ears upon. The track is built around Lana’s original track ‘Born To Die’ with Jay Z adding his two cents towards the end of the cut. Dope remix fellas.“

Fans may not have to wait too much longer for a new, non-remixed Lana Del Rey song: Del Rey announced the title of her new album, “Ultraviolence,” at the premiere for her short film “Tropico” earlier this month.

"I really just wanted us all to be together so I could try and visually close out my chapter before I release the new record, ‘Ultraviolence,’” Del Rey told the crowd.

The new album title is a reference to Anthony Burgess’ 1962 novel “A Clockwork Orange” and the 1971 film adaptation by Stanley Kubrick.

The announcement took fans by surprise, as Del Rey had previously talked about quitting music and had even called “Tropico” her “farewell project.”

"When people ask me about it [a new album], I just have to be honest--I really don't know,” Del Rey said in an interview for Nylon’s November issue.

“I don't want to say, 'Yeah, definitely--the next one's better than this one,' because I don't really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying."

Finally free of Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé is a ‘Grown Woman’

Sasha Fierce is dead.eyonce_-_Mrs._Carter_World_Tour_-_Boston-03fc0

Long live "BEYONCÉ".

Beyoncé said she killed off Sasha Fierce in 2010, but it’s finally become clear that she doesn’t need her anymore. It makes sense that of her five solo albums, this is the one she elected to self-title, because it embodies every facet of herself.

Sasha Fierce as an alter ego was a useful tool: A mechanism Beyoncé could use to safely and publicly experiment with performances of her sexuality while keeping her ladylike integrity intact. (And make no mistake, ladylike integrity was paramount to Beyoncé’s early bankability).

But Sasha Fierce was also limiting for that very reason. Beyoncé didn’t have to be Sasha Fierce, she just pulled her out when necessary, and no one really knew who Beyoncé was, except that she was a fabulously talented and hard-working performer with a genuinely good voice. If anything could be gleaned from her first three solo albums, it was that she subscribed to a murky brand of feminism best described as girl power: not particularly heavy on the feminist theory, but uplifting, fun, and eminently danceable.

But the biggest pop star in the world decided she was sick of operating within the ridiculous, dated Freudian binary that women’s sexuality is often perceived, the very framework that made “I Am … Sasha Fierce” her weakest album. So, song by song, on her newest and strongest work yet, she eviscerated it. The new 14-song, 17-video visual album features explicit images of Beyoncé in expensive lingerie and mentions not just of sex, but of her kinks. It’s an exploration of gender and power and an unwavering look at black female sexual agency. At the same time, it’s an album about love. It is a celebration of black womanhood.

Katy Perry Reveals Why She Doesn't Make a New Year's Resolution

Katy Perry has been opening up a lot about her personal life lately, revealing that she went through a lot during her difficult divorce from Russell Brand.

The "Roar" singer admitted that she did a lot of work on herself, too, telling Ellen DeGeneres that she found her strength and was able to work her way out of the dark place with the help of meditation, therapy and vitamins.

She also gave up alcohol for three months following the split in order to help herself heal.

So, now that she's done all of the self-reflection and made the changes she wanted to make, what could she possibly commit to for her New Year's resolution?

"If I need to change something, I feel like I just change it," she said, while answering some caller questions on American Top 40. "Like, I just make the change that day. It doesn't have to be the pressure of January 1 because it feels like you're setting yourself up. But you know, you do you and I'll do me!"

That's actually a really good point...there's no time like the present!

Plus, it sounds like Katy has been pretty good about keeping those promises she makes to herself no matter what time of year it is!

Do you have a New Year's resolution this year?
