Elton John is 'sad' over Russia anti-gay law

Elton John has urged Russia to end discrimination against gays as he performed at a concert in Moscow.

The British singer said he was "sad to learn" of a law banning the "propaganda of homosexuality" to minors.

The loosely-worded law can be used to ban gay rights events, critics say.

Sir Elton became the first major Western star known for his support of gay rights to play in Russia since the law was signed by President Vladimir Putin in June.

Last year, both Madonna and Lady Gaga used concerts in Saint Petersburg to speak out against similar local legislation.

Teen Mom 3 Cancelled.

The third installment of MTV’s Teen Mom franchise was not guaranteed to be back for a second season after having difficulty getting traction in the ratings combined with discontentment among some of the cast members about editing and how they were portrayed on the show. Toni Braxton Wants To Play A Lesbian On 'Orange Is The New Black'

Legendary singer, songwriter, reality star and actress, Toni Braxton, is quietly vying for a role on the Netflix original show, "Orange Is The New Black."

Earlier this year, Braxton said that she really wants to play a lesbian on-screen. Now, she's narrowed her TV landscape. “I’m hoping to be on 'Orange Is the New Black,'” she told TheGrio recently. “That’s my favorite show. I told you I wanted to be a lesbian … I still want that.”

Back in February, Braxton said she was about to retire and quit making music, but she did a 180 on that notion and said, “Retiring is off the table now. I don’t know what I was thinking.”

Thank goodness, because now we might get to see her join forces with Taystee, Piper and Red inside Litchfield Correctional Facility. She would definitely be the one to give Pornstache a swift kick in the groin.

What do you think? Would you want to see Braxton join the "Orange Is The New Black" cast?

Neither of the two new Hercules films want a Kevin Sorbo cameo

Kevin Sorbo may be the most famous "Hercules" ever ... but the guys making two new flicks about the Greek God want nothing to do with him -- this according to the actor himself.

Sorbo was blowing out of LAX Saturday when we asked if he'd be in either of the "Hercules" movies coming out next year -- one starring The Rock, the other starring Kellan Lutz.

The 55-year old actor sadly informs our photog both sets of producers blew off his agent when they reached out to make it happen ... and it's painfully clear he's bitter about the whole thing.

Cameo or not ... Sorbo still gives his opinion on which Herc will reign supreme at the box-office.(SOURCE)

Tom Daley: Why do so few men admit to being bisexual?

With Tom Daley coming out as bisexual, will other men follow his lead? And if not, why not, asks Patrick McAleenan

As a gay man, I have mostly avoided dating bisexual men, but perhaps that's because I fell in love with one once. (He’s now married. To a woman.) Or perhaps there's another reason. Perhaps I haven't met enough of them, which would be understandable considering they are often compelled to remain closeted when it comes to their split sexuality.

Goldberg Tried To Pee On Me

The guy who played Goldberg the Goalie in "The Mighty Ducks" is accused of trying to PEE on his ex-girlfriend after allegedly punching her in the face.

Goldberg's ex Sonja Dimitrievska filed docs in L.A. this week asking a judge to grant her a restraining order against the 90's star, real name Shaun Weiss, claiming he beat the crap out of her several times during their 2-year relationship.

In the documents, Sonja says the final straw was back in April when she came home to a drunken Goldberg who threatened to kill her and pull her eyes out.

Sonja says she left for a few hours to let him cool off but claims Goldberg was in her bed holding a machete when she returned home. He then proceeded to sock her in the face.

Sonja says she ran away to hide in a nearby bedroom but Goldberg broke the door down and tried peeing on her while saying "this is all you're worth."

But here's where things take a turn. Sonja says GOLDBERG called the cops and when they got to the scene, they arrested HER. The judge eventually DENIED Sonja's temporary request for a restraining order against Goldberg and has ordered a hearing for Dec. 17th to discuss the matter in depth.

Martin Scorsese – ‘I Miss The Time When I Had The Desire to Experiment’

On the last day of the 13th Marrakech film festival, jury prexy Martin Scorsese visited Morocco’s leading film school, ESAV, whose installations he inaugurated in 2007, as the school’s godfather.

During a 45-minute Q&A session he talked about his motivations and the factors underlying his choice of subjects, including that of his upcoming film “Silence”.

He described filming “Last Temptation of Christ,” lensed in Morocco, as a passionate process motivated by his own search for an inner spiritual core, which had once made him to want to become a priest.

“The film was an exploration of the meaning of faith. But during the process of making the film the mystery became even deeper for me and I realized I’d only scratched the surface…I’m obsessed with the search for a spiritual core in life. That’s what my most personal films are about, including ‘Mean Streets’, ‘Last Temptation’ and ‘Kundun’, both shot in Morocco, my recent documentary on George Harrison and the film I’d like to make next, ‘Silence.’”

Lindsay Lohan -- She's INNOCENT ... Says Guy Who Punched Paris Hilton's Brother Barron

The guy who laid the smackdown on Barron Hilton's face this week is claiming Lindsay Lohan had nothing to do with the attack ... and his rep tells TMZ the blame falls entirely on Barron.

A rep for Ray Lemoine (yes, really) claims his fists only started flying after Barron refused to leave the house ... and says Paris Hilton's little brother got physical first.

We're told Ray had been renting the house for a few days -- and allowed LiLo to stay there because she was a friend of a friend ... but claims Hilton got all pissy when Lemoine asked him to leave after the party Friday morning. The rep claims Hilton pulled the "do you know who I am card" but Ray didn't care -- so Barron pushed him ... and that's when things got violent.

We broke the story -- Barron told cops Ray attacked him at Lindsay request ... but the rep says Ray is adamant Lindsay had nothing to do with his actions.

Still doesn't explain this video.

Are 8 Kanye Songs Enough For The Next Album?

Kanye West championed Yeezus for its minimalist sound and even linked with producer Rick Rubin, who helped strip down the tracks even further. For his next LP, Yeezy has revealed he'll continue with that less-is-more ideology.

"I think my next album is going to be eight songs. It's just reducing down the amount of information that you need," Kanye said on Wednesday night during an Art Basel panel in Miami. "People say a design is the point where you can't take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed. I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here," he was quoted as saying, on "If I hadn't made Yeezus, I wouldn't be sitting here with this cool font at Basel right here."

For his next release, 'Ye will once again team up with Rubin and his G.O.O.D. Music cohort Q-Tip.

"I'm producing Kanye's new album with Rick Rubin," the Queens, New York rap vet confirmed to journalist Elliott Wilson during an interview for earlier this week.

Susan Boyle reveals she has been diagnosed with Asperger’s

The singer Susan Boyle has revealed for the first time that she has been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, a form of autism.

The Scottish mezzo-soprano, who rose to international fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, hit out at previous claims that she had “brain damage”, instead saying that “it’s been something else”.

Speaking in an interview with the Observer, Ms Boyle said she went to see a specialist in Scotland, who told her that her IQ was above average. She was told she has Asperger’s, and said it was “a relief” to finally receive a diagnosis.

“I have always known that I have had an unfair label put upon me,” she said, explaining that her condition made her different to her peers as a child. “That made me more determined to be where I want to be,” she added.

Asperger’s is defined by the National Autistic Society as having “similarities with autism, [though] people with Asperger syndrome have fewer problems with speaking and are often of average, or above average, intelligence”. It adds that they “may have specific learning difficulties”, but do not usually have the “disabilities associated with autism”.

Film Review: ‘Closer to the Moon’

A strange but true Romanian bank robbery provides inspiration for this darkly comic tale of history and its myriad interpretations.

Nae Caranfil’s “Closer to the Moon” offers an absurdist take on a real event: an audacious 1959 bank robbery carried out by high-ranking Jewish members of the Romanian Communist Party, who pretended they were shooting a movie. Caranfil imagines the protagonists as fully cognizant of the sociopolitical inanities that surround them — not least of which is the government’s totally false propaganda film about the heist, in which the culprits are forced to participate after having been arrested and condemned to death. Shot in English with a name British and American cast, this surprisingly entertaining black comedy could connect with American auds.

Shakira filmed a new music video! Will it include Rihanna?

Stop the world right now #ShakiraIsBack! Colombian super star singer Shakira marked a date for her highly-awaited return to the music scene. After several delays finally seems that the track will be out early 2014. The highly-awaited new single, still untitled, is scheduled to premiere before the end of the year or early January.
According Colombian Gossip magazine ‘Elenco’, the new single has the collaboration of Barbadian global star Rihanna.
There is much anticipation for the upcoming release of the new single from our beloved Shakira. The issue, which was planned for the end of this year, we were told was postponed to January. What few know, and certainly the big news is who will sing a duet Barranquilla: no more nor no less than Rihanna. Rather, increases anxiety and desire to listen.Good for both!
In addition, an insider of the musical web forum Popjustice confirmed that the video will be recorded this week. This information could be true because both singers are now in the same city, Los Angeles. On December 8, the singer confirmed that the music video of her new single is directed by Joseph Kahn.

Britney: "there are more expectations of me now" + "Chaotic was the worst thing I've done"

“This is scary,” admits Britney Spears, looking mildly alarmed. In an hour, the pop superstar will climb on to a small stage, perch on a stool in front of the worldwide media and numerous record executives, and give “Britney Jean”, her eighth album, its first public airing.
She’ll be joined on stage by her producer,, but the audience will focus on just one person, as she introduces songs, including her new single, Perfume, from an album (now free to stream on iTunes ) that promises to delve further than ever before into the life of this surprisingly shy icon. “I’m eager for people to hear what I’ve been working on,” she adds. But I’m so nervous at the same time, because it’s such a personal album for me.”
“Vegas is definitely a new challenge,” she says. “But I wanted to be able to put on a different type of show. You get to do so much more when you don’t have to put your stage in trucks after the show every night – we got to build a venue specifically for my show. It’s going to be more like a party than a typical concert.”
Spears, who turned 32 on 2 December, is in great shape, wearing a plain black vest, tight black leggings and black heels. “I need to rehearse more now than I did before,” she admits. “I feel I’m more of a perfectionist these days.”
“The increased scrutiny does make me a little harder on myself these days,” she says. “There are more expectations of me now, not just in terms of what I do, but also in terms of who I am.”
She’s come a long way from her childhood town of Kentwood, Louisiana, a place whose other claim to fame is as the dairy capital of America’s South. “It’s a small town where everyone knows everyone,” she says. “You visit your friends and neighbours without ever telling them you’re showing up.”
“My mom is a wonderful woman,” says Spears. “She’s always been an inspiration to me, but having kids helped me make even more sense of my relationship with her. My sons [Sean] Preston and Jayden are eight and seven now – and not only do I find myself doing some of the things my mom used to do, I also understand why she did them.”

Simon Amstell apologises for Nelson Mandela 'segregation' joke on Nick Grimshaw's R1 Breakfast Show

Comedian Simon Amstell has apologised for a controversial comment he made on Radio 1 in the wake of Nelson Mandela’s death.

The Never Mind The Buzzcocks host made the quip – in which he hinted at racial segregation between Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra – as he was promoting his new stand-up DVD on Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast Show.

‘What is going on?’ he told the host. ‘We’re next to 1Xtra, it’s so white in here. Mandela would not approve of the situation at the BBC.’

When asked to explain, Amstell added: ‘Look at all these people…look at the segregation that’s happened.’

He also shrugged off suggestions from producer Matt Fincham that he shouldn’t be making such comments, saying: ‘Someone had to say it. Mandela would say it if he was here.

Despite appearing unrepentant on the show, Amstell later took to Twitter to apologise.

‘It may have been unclear this morning, as things often are but what came out of this mouth today was silly. apologies to everyone involved,’ he said.

His followers subsequently suggested he had not needed to apologise, with one telling him: ‘It wasn’t even silly, it was a good point’, and another adding: ‘Had to look up what you said, don’t worry. People are silly. It was nothing.’

Not content to leave it there, Amstell later returned to Twitter, saying: ‘Good evening. this is an apology to those offended by the previous apology. certainly a serious and difficult day for us all.’

Shia LaBeouf to fellow restaurant guest: 'I can get you killed!'

He's already earned himself a reputation as a hell-raising movie star, even at the age of 27, but Shia LaBeouf has now allegedly been involved in a 'boozy bust-up' in which he unveiled his full fury.

Dining at a chic restaurant bar in London's Covent Garden, Shia was approached by a female fan who left in tears after having spoken to the star. The woman's boyfriend is reported to have then approached the Transformers star which resulted in a 'tussle', according to The Sun of Sunday.

'Shia pursued him and was overhead saying, "I can get you killed",' the paper reports.

The paper claims that Shia was eventually removed from the restaurant bar by a group of waiters and onlookers.

A witness told the paper that 'Shia went for this guy after he upset his girlfriend. It was shocking. He looked out of control.'

This is the second anger management issue for the American star here in the UK.

In October the star was reportedly beaten up on a clubbing night out in London, while on a break from filming the aptly-titled movie Fury with Brad Pitt.
Shia is said to have filmed two sisters, one of whom was vomitting, ignoring requests to stop doing so. The situation allegedly ended with Shia being hit and kicked by a pssserby who had intervened, with bouncers from the club then stepping in to break up the fracas.

This may all be two cases of life imitating art. Shia's 2012 film Lawless saw him star in the gruesome Western killfest as a violent criminal during the prohibition era.

One Direction close to signing reality show deal

One Direction are reportedly close to signing a deal for their own reality show.

The Story of My Life hitmakers are nearing a multi-million dollar deal for a ten-part series and it is said to be "pretty much" finalised.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper, an insider revealed: "Producers have met with the band's representatives and it's pretty much a done deal. Details are being ironed out, including budgets and when to film."

The band - Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne - would have cameras following their every move, and the show followers on from the huge success of their documentary film This Is Us.

Bosses at ITV - the British channel expected to air the show - are hoping it will be a big hit.

The source added: "They are at the top of their game and that will translate into big ratings."

While it was hoped the group would start filming early next year, it was recently revealed they will be taking a much-needed break over the New Year.

Niall has said: "We had a bit of time off after finishing the world tour but the new album came out last week so we are doing all the promo for that. Jet lag kills me. The flying is OK, I don't mind that - but the jet lag is a nightmare ... We've got some time off over Christmas. It will give us a chance to relax and enjoy it with the family. We are busy but you just have to get on with it."
